Visiting Colchester for the weekend and fancied Fish & Chips. We were not disappointed. Very clean place, service great and the cod & chips and Rock & chips was one of the best we have ever tasted. Well done Dr Chippy

This is the best chip shop in Colchester as far as im concerned, always friendly reasonably priced and always get given some nice fresh chips to eat while waiting. Excellent place to either eat in or take away .

Pleasantly surprised!! Went to sit down an eat in the back. How lovely this area is,nice seating an environment, lovely girl that served us. Food came quickly an was nice an hot. Started to get busy after a while but the service was still great. Will be visiting again when next in the area. Go check it out if havnt already

On a cheeky week away with family went to Dr Chippy's for lunch. It's a restaurant as well as a takeaway. Was my first experience of having an over 60's menu. So many pluses for this chippy 1) Excellent prices for fish and chips, that also came with lovely fresh breaetd arnd salad. 2) Freshly cooked. Nice crispy hot batter. 3) Very generous portions. 4) The over 60 included a non alcoholic drink. 5) Friendly helpful staff Highly recommended. Best fish and chips I've had in a long while.

I was here for dinner on a solo visit. I had fish and chips with chilli sauce. Rating the food, that's a 10/10 Hospitality, 11/10... yes they exceeded my expectations. The rearaurantvwas so clean and tge ambiance was so hospitable. I enjoyed every bit of my experience there. All staffs kept smiling face and were courteous. When it comes to pricing, that was really on a good level. I got the value for my money and didn't have any reason to complain about anything. And to top it all for any prospective muslim customers, it's HALAL!!! Thank you Dr. Chippy and staffs 😊😊

If only all chippys were like this. Visited yesterday with a coach party. Staff were so friendly & accommodating. Halloumi & chips could not have been better. Not a sign of grease anywhere on the plate so enjoyed every mouthful.

My father introduced this place to my brother Adam and we both have disabilities. The owner and the staff treat us very well and we have started having the £5 lunch take away deal. Its a lovely business and has been here for a number of years. The scores here on google spell it all out and the food, value for money and all around attitude is very special. Thank you.

Went here with my family in May, and it was an amazing experience! The service and the food was great. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great fish and chips place in the area. We were in London the day before and held off on getting fish and chips there with hiked up tourist prices. Will come back again!

I poped in after years and asked for a double chicken burger with no bun as om on a high protein low carb diet and I got the best box pf chicken, chips and veg, love the place and the staff are amazing Jeep doing what you are doing brother!

Really high quality fish and chips. Nice service, friendly people. Dated decor but it feels suitable for a traditional chippy. I liked having some salad on my plate too. Good selection on the menu too.

The service was excellent with a very friendly lady serving us. The fish and chips were nicely cooked with a light batter, and the grilled tandoori fish was a nice surprise as an extra. The children’s portion was more than they could manage.

Went to dr chippys for the first time the other week and me and my partner had peri fish, chips and salad and peri chicken, chips and salad. The food was incredible and we definitely got our moneys worth while listening to some great music and the waitress was a star. Would definitely recommend to anyone and especially Colchester thrusts who want to get some great food

Today I have been charged extra ! I order perper chicken and 7up it should be 11.50-12.. They charged me 14 £ by the Turkish waiters! I had to catch the bus, then I checked prices online it must be 12£ !!!

One of the best Fish N Chips places on town. The cod tastes fantastic here, not too oily and extremely fresh. The curry sauce has the perfect blend of spice and flavor. 10/10 would recommend.

The fish was nicely battered and not at all greasy. The awful music playing was a bit off putting (80s ballads) and the dinning area was a bit tired. Service was alright, but we did have to go find someone so we could pay the bill. We had the OAP cod and chips, with small side salad and a pot of tea, and it was £11. So good value. I feel like I'm being a bit harsh giving just 3 stars, however the reviews I read had given 5 and I can honestly say I have had a lot better. I would go back, but really in my opinion it's just a fish and chip shop, nothing more, nothing less.

Very tasty fish and chips, the owner made us feel very welcome, he cooked some special fish from our own country for us to taste it, also gave us some desert. Delicious fish and the chips have been properly peeled and cooked, crispy but not dry.

Great food and very friendly staff the whole year around with lots of regulars addicted to their golden crispy fish and chips to die for. They never use burnt oil i observed. Fish is always the right color and right taste. The Owner / Manager is always on top of his place and watches over his business 24/7 very meticulously. You feel the care every minute when you are there. They are very careful with respect to customers like their own family. I only felt professionalism all around every time i am there and i love the decoration with Elvis and Marlyn Monroe Mural Tile wall done very artistically. Well done and many thanks. Great atmosphere and joy to be there.
