Dedham Hall, wow how special did we all feel. A warm welcome and a cosy lounge with the log fire burning and comfortable seating. Our meal was delicious, a 3 course dinner with after mints and coffee made for 6. A 80th birthday made very special by Jim and Wendy and the young helper.

Incredible experience in a place of total calm and tranquility. A place to breathe and refresh ones weary souls in the heart of Constables country! Our hosts Wendy and Jim are the most hard working yet relaxed people you could ever meet. They make you feel welcome to their home,I wouldn't even refer to it as a hotel,it's so lovely just to be there. The breakfast is tailor made to your expectations and the freshest of ingredients used. I'm Gluten intolerant and Wendy catered and adapted her recipes with ease to my needs,so much so I couldn't even tell and was overwhelmed by it that I had to ask her "are you sure!!!" Incredible!! We stayed 4 nights and also ate dinner every evening too, they had such a great menu, one couldn't ask for more! Fresh ingredients cooked perfectly, they were once restaurant owners,so one can see that the food is prepared with professionalism and passion! The rooms are well equipped, super comfortable with everything you need. The house is super quirky, so if that's your niche or want something off the norm, then this is your dream. The grounds are delectable and refreshing. When you exit the house you are immediately in the midst of Constables countryside, it's mesmerising and enigmatic place of serenity and peace. No noise or distractions,no traffic or disturbance...just pure zen! Well done and huge respect for Wendy, Jim and their fabulous staff for putting together this masterpiece, it takes a lot of passion to create this distinctive atmosphere we all seek to free minds!! I can't thank you all enough.

Had the most wonderful stay and dining experience at Dedham Hall. It's a unique place, beautifully decorated, welcoming and comfortable. We were celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday and we had our own dining room with sitting area, complete with lit open fire, candlelight, flowers and blossoms picked from the enchanting grounds. The menu was varied and the food and wine was all excellent. The home-made bread was delicious as was the full English breakfast the next morning. We were welcomed with homemade brownies and tea and a lit fire on arrival. It's a very relaxed environment and very much a family run business. It's like staying at a rich aunt's beautiful country house, I've never experienced anything quite so lovely and unique before. A very special place.

On first approach and arrival at Dedham Hall, one might be forgiven for initially thinking "oh dear what have I done" But do not be put off by your first impressions, this is superb first class accommodation. When you have become accustomed to the hectic nature of the wild flower garden and randomly scattered rusting garden furniture and old fashioned bicycles and the all round rustic nature of the hotel's setting, you very quickly fall in love with the charm of the place. Our bedroom and en-suite in the main hall was spacious and charming in equal measure and the bathroom furnishing not sumptuous of design appearance are country style andare perfectly adaquate and functional though there was not a lot of wardrobe or storage space. It is family run and all the better for that. All of the staff were very professional, charming and very attentive. If your tastes are country style chique, you will love the various dining rooms and lounge room available to the residents with their lovely cosy settings furniture and objet d'arte. Dedham Hall is within an easy walk of Dedham and if you were minded to go into Dedham village to eat in the evening, my advice is don't. Stay at Dedham Hall to eat. the food that Wendy and her team offer up is absolutely excellent and I think would be very difficult to beat by anywhere else in Dedham. I also believe it is great value for money. The whole Dedham Hall experience is grEAT value for money and if you are looking to stay in that area, cannot be recommended highly enough.

Having read many outstanding reviews of Dedham Hall, it is difficult to find anything to add. Having booked 7 nights stay, and extended it a further couple of nights as it was so enjoyable and possible to do so, perhaps says it for me. Jim and Wendy not only are wonderful hosts, they recruit local people to cook, clean and serve brilliantly. Professional hospitality at its best.

I stayed here while teaching an art course nearby. I enjoyed the warm welcome from the owners and the very comfortable and hospitable atmosphere. The setting in garden and paddocks is lovely, and it is very close to the beautiful village of Dedham. I enjoyed all the paintings and drawings on the walls, presumably created by the tutors and students of the many art courses run at Dedham Hall. The food is fabulous.

We booked Dinner, bed and breakfast to stay before Christmas 2019. On arriving we were shown to our room which was ensuite. Noticed quite a few cobwebs but otherwise clean. After this tea was served in a lounge with a cosy fire. We were surprised when we were told that there were a couple of good places to eat in Dedham, so we informed our hosts that dinner was part of our package. They expressed surprise but put a lovely meal together. Breakfast was of a very good standard. However as I always tend to do in smaller establishments, I stripped the bedding to help the small staff. I was horrified to find a very stained mattress and the pillows were a disgrace. To think our faces had lain on these appalled me.

Loved this small family owned and run hotel. I went there for a painting course and enjoyed the most wonderful breakfasts - all freshly cooked and plenty of choices! 3 course dinners every night were excellent. Very convenient to walk into the village and to visit Munnings gallery and - of course - Flatford Mill across the meadows! What a beautiful area and I will return to explore it some more! The garden was absolutely stunning and Wendy is very knowledgeable and generous.

This place is a gem. We arrived after a 15 mile walk in the pouring rain and it couldn't have been better. Our room was lovely; there was a fire in the sitting room where I roasted chestnuts that I'd collected on our walk; we were given tea and cakes, including gluten free biscuits for my friend, and played games by the fire; then the menu arrived along with gin and tonics and delicious olives and nuts. Dinner was delicious, the service was wonderful, and the wine was amazing. The whole place is incredibly comfortable, and incredibly professional while being very relaxed and like being at home. We've already booked it for our next walking weekend in six months' time.

Overpriced bed and breakfast in an outbuilding - absolutely awful. Towels used for toilet mat (cut to shape!) - Paid over £100 per night for this awful experience. Breakfast was pleasant enough but the focus is on the artists and the painting. Dinner was tasteless and bland, a complete waste of money. Totally forgettable place in need of a massive re-vamp and at the very least decent towels for your guests

Food well above average and the rooms and service are perfect. The location is perfect for anyone exploring Constable Country and the location offers some of the best art tutorial and accomodation in the region. This was my first week tutoring some of my clients in Portraiture and was helped by both the location and the service on offer. I will be returning from my base in France next year and know all will enjoy the week, made possible by our hosts and the place.

We have eaten breakfast, BBQ and lunch here before but we booked for Sunday lunch and certainly weren’t disappointed! We enjoyed starters (plenty of variety) and a fantastic mixed roast with all the trimmings. Meat was cooked to perfection and homemade gravy a real treat. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced and the pub is welcoming and lively. We will be back 😊
