Had brunch in the cafe yesterday, a sausage and bacon sandwich with a pot of tea for one. The tea was weak, even after leaving to brew, the sandwich was cold and greasy. Unfortunately with a friend who doesn't like to complain but definitely not a pleasant experience. I will not be repeating the experience

Really great Garden Centre and facilities. Large carpark with a good number of disabled spaces. The garden centre is all on the one level with plenty of room between displays to manoeuvre a wheelchair. We ate in one of the smaller cafés and this had fresh cakes and clean surroundings. A most enjoyable experience!

Perrywood certainly give Scotsdale a run for their money however ultimately Scotsdales allows dogs. Scotsdales used to have dogs in trolleys but then changed to allowing them in, with no restrictions and they now have a dog friendly cafe. This ifor me is a win win and a game changer. I live in London and my elderly parents live in Essex and they love both garden centres but we go to Perrywood far less because I have two small dogs. I spend less money at Perrywood as I'm always keen to get back to my dogs who have had to be left at my parents which is a 45 minute journey for us. Plants are less expensive at Scotsdales and they have a wider variety of plants but the ambience at Perrywood is lovely and their cafe is great. Mum who's a huge gardener 'likes' the plants at Perrywood.

I didn't appreciate being attacked by a cashier when I entered the payment area to collect a pre ordered plant. It was a hot day - dogs die quickly in cars. I live alone, was on the way to somewhere with my dog - what do you expect me to do with it and what possible issue can you have with it in the till area. Stupid girl and stupid rule.

Visited Perrywood Tiptree Cafe today with my parents. Perrywood is one of their favourite places to go for lunch. Today there was a long queue which was really slow in moving. One person on the till taking food orders and payments. Another taking hot drink orders only. The menu is good. We went for two jacket potatoes one with cheese and beans the other with tuna and cheese. I had the tuna panini which came with chips, The ‘posh pop’ drinks were really nice. We had two strawberry and rhubarb and one dandelion and burdock. This came to just over £40. My father wears hearing aids and I felt that considering the clientele the person behind the till could be better with people. She mumbled and didnt look at my father while he was trying to order. She was looking down at the till while talking. He didn’t hear what she was saying. I had to repeat it to him. Even while I was doing it didn’t seem to occur to her to look and speak clearly. I would imagine this was a part of the hold up and the long queue. We went and sat down. You get a bouncer and someone brings the food to the table. The table was really wobbly. The lovely lady who bought the food to the table fixed it. She was brilliant, explaining what she was doing and looking at my parents while she spoke. The garden centre is amazing and I can see why my parents enjoy going there. I’ll absolutely visit with them again and will try the cafe again, If I experience red long queues, only one person taking food orders& payment and the lack of empathy and kindness. considering the price I’ll probably that my parents to lunch somewhere else then visit the garden centre. The garden centre in general customer service is amazing

Really gone down hill for plants. My third visit this year now which has been highly unsuccessful. Just visited and two products I wanted they didn’t have and one is very common (Hakenochloa Macra). One member of staff being pulled around by customers so very hard to get help, I had to wait 15 mins for her to help me. Walk out and 4 staff in the home part standing chatting. Looks like that is their priority now. It’s a 35 min drive for me so use to come as a destination. Won’t bother any more as no better than other garden centres for plants any longer.

An excellent garden centre that has won a number of awards. Family owned rather than a national chain which enables them to provide those special touches e.g they try and grow a lot of plants themselves rather than have them bought in from abroad so as to be more environmentally friendly. Large indoor and outdoor areas providing all the normal garden centre items and much more. Wheelchair friendly and wheelchairs are also available to borrow as well. Fantastic restaurant which has recently expanded serving a range of hot and cold food from cooked breakfast to proper special afternoon tea with sandwiches, cakes, and scones. Clean and modern toilets. The car park has also been recently upgraded. Friendly and helpful staff. A place to go when you need something or just to browse and have a bite to eat. Just visited again for a birthday breakfast with family. Seems quieter at beginning of week and mid afternoons if you need your space. Just visited again for some spring plants and Easter gifts.

WOULD BE GREAT IN THE SUMMER BUT NOT IDEAL FOR A WINTER SPA. the positive points: the house and grounds are stunning, well maintained to a very high standard. The staff are exceedingly attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the negative points: The check in is great and the lounge and fire are gorgeous, we were shown to our deluxe suite, which lived up to the expectations visually. However we were directed to the spa, which is a few hundred meters away from the main hotel. It was a freezing cold day and so we had to put coats and boots on and take all our swimming stuff across in a bag. Unfortunately we did not realise that all spa facilities are outside. Luckily it was not raining otherwise it would have been a total waste of time. We ran to the jacuzzi which was only warm, definitely not HOT, we managed to stay in there for 5 mins before trying the steam room, which is tiny, with 4 of us in there it was not possible to lie down and other guests had to wait as there was no room when they tried to join us. We went inside for our treatments and when we came out we tried to sit in the outdoor lounge, with fire, but even with the hot water bottles and blankets provided it was just to cold to enjoy this area. We return to our room at 5 PM, we noticed that it was very cold in the room as well. I turned each individual radiator up to the maximum. However, after an hour, the radiators were still just tepid, not even warm. We asked reception and they were exceedingly helpful and could see we were getting ready for our meal at Mason talbooth and would look at it when we went out. This meant we had to get ready feeling very cold. We also noticed at this point that we wished to blow dry our hair after washing it and discovered that there was not a dressing table with a mirror. Or at the bare minimum a plug point near a mirror, we had to blow dry our hair sitting on the floor with no reflection. I don't expect to be doing this in such a high-end establishment. We returned from our room after our meal and it was still cold. The receptionist explained that she had turned the boiler to the oil setting as the pellets did not seem to be working and this should solve the problem. Unfortunately as the room is so luxurious and large, the radiators were not sufficient to heat the room and all 3 of us had to sleep in thick pyjamas, socks and dressing gowns which was not conducive to a good night's sleep. Thankfully, this was not a romantic break as there would definitely have been no romance.!! So this place was great but we ere cold from the time we arrived until we left. I have emailed them 4 days ago, but have received no response

Just all around ace love this place, today had to get mine to go but nothing is a trouble, with meal deals over £5 now I do not begrudge £8 for their sandwiches so fresh, always a lovely salad and crisps even when you take away. Lovely quality, and great coffee too!
