The best restaurants in East of England

We booked a table Saturday lunchtime to celebrate our son's engagement. We have been a few times in the past and enjoyed each visit. Therefore, we decided to bring our future daughter-in-law and her parents for luch at this special place. Once again we were not disappointed the food and the service were excellent. Looking forward to our next vist very soon.

Mi esposa y yo pedimos un sándwich, huevo mayo y un atún mayo, patatas fritas, ensalada y ensalada de col a un lado. Ambos vinieron en pan espeso fresco, las limaduras eran abundantes y la ensalada de col era hermosa. Tal cambio para pagar por algo y conseguir cada centavo. Muy recomendable este lugar!

Wow - what a wonderful restaurant. First class service and outstanding food - what a truly amazing experience. A lovely atmosphere from the moment we stepped through the door.

Really nice gluten free ciabatta with all the trimmings. Also GF scone and chocolate cake available. Lovely setting. Clean and tidy.

Recently went to Socius with family. My husband is currently on an elimination diet which is extremely restrictive. I emailed the restaurant a week prior to our visit to see if/how things could be adapted, thinking some advance warning might be beneficial for the kitchen, but also us to save lengthy conversations at the table. I received a really kind and helpful response back ensuring me that dishes could be easily adapted and my husband would receive his own menu on the night with plenty of choice. This was exactly what happened and all the modified dishes were DELICIOUS! Upon arrival we were immediately asked who was the member of the party with the allergy, and when sat down, we were given an extra printed menu with all of the 'safe' options on. The fact a separate menu had been generated was a really simple but thoughtful touch that made my husband still feel included and normalise his experience. All members of staff that came to the table were aware the allergies and made us feel totally relaxed and at ease. Due to his diet being restrictive, we have not been able to eat out since it began so to be able to still enjoy our Socius experience was incredible. The highlight definitely had to be the adapted 'Socius chocolate bar', the one item my husband was devastated to miss out on - and he didn't have to!! Thank you again to all the team for another lovely visit, and for going to extra mile for us. It was noticed and greatly appreciated. We had a lovely time (as always!), and we cannot wait to come back.

Me and my wife had a lovely afternoon tea for two. I like ordering before we arrive so we know we will get what we have ordered. It is expensive compared to other places but the quality is better. My only gripe is the service charge being added to the bill. We asked for this to be removed but this is happening at more and more places and it's really annoying. Does this go to the staff or are you trying to improve your profit margin?

This is a really great place to eat for all occasions. I went with my family and there were many different options including delicious options for vegans/vegetarians. The staff are so friendly and helpful and there is a lovely calm atmosphere. 100% recommend. Probably best food I have ever had!

If you're in the mood for a hearty meal, XOXO Grill House is the place to be! I had an amazing evening filled with delicious food that truly satisfied my cravings. The burgers are juicy and flavorful, while the steaks are cooked to perfection, showcasing the skill of the chefs. The ambiance of the restaurant adds to the overall experience, making it a great spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that we had everything we needed for a wonderful dining experience. Overall, XOXO Grill House is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates a good meal. I can't wait to return and try more from their extensive menu!

Attended a tasting menu for valentines evening g . Food was lovely and the staff where very attentive but unfortunately although private dining there was another couple who was there and was very very loud and completely controlled the whole evening. Couldn't hear what the staff was telling us about the courses and didn't even have a conversation with my partner as i couldn't hear him. Considering the cost I would have thought the staff could gave told them to keep the noise down as other people in the joining resturant also mentioned the noise as this was also our 41st wedding g anniversary it totally spoil our evening I know it wasn't the resturant fault but I think the manager should have step in. Another couple who was there also didn't enjoy the experience either because of the same problem

This is an exceptional restaurant which is a must visit if you are in the area. The tasting menu is great value and there was not one dish that was a disappointment. Imaginative and clever flavour pairing made for a complete experience. Staff were great and the whole place is clearly a labour of love. Do go!

Had the roast and was very surprised how much food on the plate - really nice and we will certainly be back. Priced right and friendly staff all in all a winner.

First time ordering takeaway from Olive today and OMG the food is so delicious and I'm just sorry we haven't done this sooner. We ordered Butter Chicken Tikka, Lamb Rogan Josh, Mushroom and Spring Onion Rice, Onion Bhaji (you get 3), Garlic & Olive Oil Naan and a Fruit and Coconut Peshwari Naan. Definitely a bit pricier than other takeaways however the ingredients are all fresh, definitely NO radioactive looking sauces or tough meat here - it's all incredibly tasty, high quality food. The curry portions are really large for just one person although my hubby and I both have very hearty appetites so we did just about finish it all (though we were absolutely stuffed!). They were both very mild curries where normally we might have expected them to have a little bit of a kick, but honestly we didn't mind because everything was so completely and utterly delicious! Can't wait to order again soon! (wish I'd taken a photo but we were so hungry we just devoured right away)

What a lovely place! Staff could not do enough for my friend and I. We had afternoon tea, all home made and just delicious! Lovely selection of drinks, freshly made food. Cutest China! Will definitely return! Thank you 😊
