The best restaurants serving Brasserie food in East of England

This was one of the best Sunday roasts I have ever had The meat and vegables where cooked to perfection

So we decided to take advantage of the Father's Day Paella and Champagne special deal on Groupon and what a great deal it was. Eavesy's plaice has a very chilled vibe almost like just hanging out in your own back garden. The outdoor bar and kitchen are great and it was a pleasure to watch chef Jamie at work cooking up a banging paella whilst the co owner Sarah always made sure your champagne glass was never empty. The children's entertainment zone was amazing with the big screen playing number blocks and other cbeebies classics whilst being supplied with an endless feast of fruit kebabs and rocket lollies. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back

Called in for breakfast and was absolutely delicious. Very generous portion size and very friendly service. Had a milkshake on the side which was also incredible. Will definitely be calling in again

Absolute gem of a restaurant! The food is 10/10 with lots of choice and all delicious. The owners couldn't be more accommodating if they tried. Sit out in the back room and the ambience with the fairly lights and heater in the winter is so warm and comforting. You take your own drink and there is no corkage charge. You are never rushed, the table is yours for the evening. My favourite eatery in Leigh

the woman there is the most rudest woman you could meet and said i was rude and she pushed me over the fact i had crips on the table do not go there this is why rileys went bust

brilliant! it's one of my favourite places for take out! the food is always freshly made and delicious. the staff are kind and helpful too. they have a variety of foods to choose from. if you want good quality food, you must come here.

absolutely fantastic from walking in the door, the welcoming was great, friendly, even allowed us a drink and opened up a tab as we was ordering food as alot of pubs wont open tabs, the food fantastic value and great tasting, proper homecooked chips and homemade burgers, also returned a few nights later and had cod and chips, and probably the best cod I've ever tasted. brought two for one, the two for one will feed three people. will return here to try the curry night.

We went here for lunch as we were passing by and the deals looked good and they have indoor and outdoor seating. Nice to have the choice! We were given a warm welcome and had a great experience from start to finish. The chicken gyro was top notch with really good quality chicken and a generous amount of it. The pitta was fluffy and delicious and the chips were disc-shaped instead of usual shape and they were superb! I’ve not been for dinner, but it’s certainly a great lunch spot.

all time favourite place to eat out in stortford. the staff are incredibly friendly and the layout and atmosphere are perfectly charming. every single time ive dined here (many by this point) i’ve been overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of food!

Very friendly staff. Honestly the best Indian food I’ve ever eaten, very flavoursome! The naan bread! Wow, large was bigger than a dinner plate. It’s so lovely to see a family run business who take a real politeness to their customers and make them feel valued! Will definitely go back!

I am a regular customer at zi’s and this place is the best to eat in cambridge. I would suggest you try their pizza, they have a lot of great options. They also are very generous with the toppings and also give lots of free sides. The staff is very friendly and they have helped me to explore different dishes.

I had offered my oldest friend, whom I've known for 67 of my 71 years, three choices for an evening meal. Posh nosh, curry or fish and chips. As it turned out, his choice was inspired. I've never seen such an enormous fish and chip restaurant which, despite its size, feels quite intimate as the place is divided into four smaller rooms on two floors, with the kitchen area set on a mezzanine right in the middle. The menu is as extensive as I have seen in a restaurant (also a takeaway) of this type. We decided to share a whitebait starter, which was excellent. Served with tartare sauce, the fish was fresh as fresh can be with a crispy batter. For mains, my friend opted for sea bass, while I had a skate wing. Served with a nice bowl of dressed salad and very nice chips, you can see why Fish Dish was going to be fully booked on the following Bank Holiday weekend. There's nothing pretentious about what they do. It's just good, honest, traditional British fish and chips (they also do burgers) done exceptionally well. Thumbs up all round, especially as it was just a short walk from my home.
