This was one of the best Sunday roasts I have ever had The meat and vegables where cooked to perfection

Never been here before. Nice meal and environment. Ideal if going to theatre. Good selection on menu bit pricey for some. Menu prices need to be clearer, 5.5 next to item actually means £5.50 so why not put that. If misprint then retire menus. Could have done with more staff on.

Very quiet on this occasion. pleasant service, nice cocktail (Bakewell Tart) and good food. Went for the Sirloin Steak, nicely cooked with chips. Risotto was good too. Plenty of choice on the menus, light bites, main meals and bar snacks. Would be busier when there is a show on.

We were staying locally to visit a relative and decided to walk into Ipswich for an evening meal. We passed many eateries which were part of big food chains and then we found this gem. We wanted somewhere that was individual with enthusiastic service and we were not disappointed. The food was great the owners were very welcoming and attentive. The chef clearly loved cooking and came to ask if we had enjoyed what he had created. It was fantastic value for the standard of dishes they served and we had a really good night. We will definitely visit again next time we are over in Suffolk.

Visited here on a Saturday night lovely service and food chatted to the landlord definitely leaving the old bad reputation of the county far behind nice venue just out of town and ideal for pre regent food and drinks

Popped in here for lunch on a mum's and daughters day out to the theatre. Beautiful refurbishment and a tasty lunch. The owner was so helpfull as he told us that the show was cancelled the evening before due to someone falling off the stage! He phoned through for us to make sure it was going ahead. We've previously eaten here before and the food was so good, we returned again today.I ordered the vegan Taste Of Asia, marinated tofu with rice noodles in a coconut and lemongrass sauce. It was amazing! My husband ordered the seabass with wild mushroom risotto. My children had haddock and chips and a cheeseburger. Both were also delicious. My daughter is a fussy eater and she cleared her plate.It's so good here that at the weekend I'm going to come back for dinner with my sister! Great choice of ales on tap, extensive wine list and as many flavours of gin that you'd ever need! I highly recommend this bar and restaurant.

I’ve tried two of their vegan dishes and have been impressed with both. After hearing great things from friends i wanted to try it myself and they didn’t disappoint. Food arrived quickly and was presented very nicely. Cooked to perfection. If you can’t decide what dish to have do what I did and try a bit of both!!! The staff were friendly and welcoming and the entire bar & restaurant has been revamped and is stunning. Would highly recommend Bar 29 & Restaurant to vegans.

I’ve eaten here on several occasions and have always been pleased with the quality of the food and the service alike. The staff are polite, friendly and accommodating. The selection of both food and drink is superb. From larger, to colourful cocktails- they even have prosecco on tap! One time I took my family for a Sunday roast... we’re a ‘picky’ bunch but between us genuinely couldn’t find fault with anything. Needless to say clean plates all round. The pub itself I would describe as contemporary & stylish with a laid back vibe. It’s definitely unique and a complete change to what it was before. Whatever the occasion or company I can quite honestly recommend this venue!!

Fabulous. Just had the best Restaurant Sunday Roast ever. Cooked to perfection and it was proper gravy! Meat was succulent and the crackling on the pork belly was scrumptious. The general ambience was very relaxed, the staff friendly and attentive. We will definitely be going back for more..........

Having tried several local places for a Sunday roast in Ipswich it was only fair that we tried here.....and we were not disappointed, if fact in our opinion it’s the best in town! Excellent quality food with good ingredients (none of your processed stuff!) and very generous servings, all cooked to perfection.

I dined at 29 a few days ago with my three children . The staff were very attentive to all our needs . There was a relaxed, happy vibe .The bar and restaurant are beautifully furnished. Our meals were delicious.Empty plates all round . We'll definatly be back . Highly recommended !!

We had a pre theatre meal and drinks at 29 and have to say couldn't fault anything. Service, food, decor and most of all staff were all fantastic. The food really is amazing and all home made. We can't recommend this place highly enough.

My first time at bar 29 today. Absolutely loved the relaxed family friendly atmosphere. Had the most delicious vegan dish and even managed a couple of cups of tea as they had soya milk. Definitely recommend and look forward to my next visit

All I can say, is the food was fantastic. There were 7 of us and asked for all the food at the same time, starters and mains it was perfect. Probably one of the best steaks, I’ve had in a very long time.

Food looks great tastes great, good selection of booze! Highly recommend I had the sea bass! Yum yum in my tum tum

Great service, great food and a short walk to the Regent. Perfect especially the mille-feuille beautiful fresh & light. Well worth a visit.

Just discovered this place....recently totally renovated and relaunched! It used to be the 'The County of Suffolk'.

Used to call in now and again for the occasional drink ,but having revisited since being refurbished ,and new food available ,it's going to be a regular place to go ,as the food is fantastic ,the portions very generous ,and beautifully presented ,along with the professionalism of the staff ,this has the makings of a place to be to experience a good day/night out.

Ate here for the first time and the food was lush! The bar and restaurant have a good atmosphere, and to top it all off they have prosecco on tap for a reasonable price!

We had Sunday lunch here yesterday and I have to say the food was faultless. We shared a starter of giant tiger prawns, freshly grilled and absolutely delicious. Our roast beef was cooked exactly how we requested it and was tender, portion sizes were generous and the side dishes were also delicious, great cauliflower cheese, lush gravy, and the carrots were superb, honestly one of the best Sunday lunches that I have had in Suffolk. This is our second time eating here, the first was a couple of weeks ago, and we had fish and chips (the batter was divine) hand cut chunky chips (I would go there for these alone) and I had the pork belly, the manager very kindly let me swap my side dish of mashed potatoes to dauphinoise potatoes and they were so good. The venue has had an extensive refurbishment and is stylish, welcoming and contemporary, the management and staff are very friendly, excellent service and thoughtful, for example we were offered extra gravy with our meals, a very nice touch, attention to small details like that really make a difference. I had room for some carrot cake, this was served with an apricot puree, just the right side of sharp, which complimented the cake beautifully, the cake itself was like eating a carrot cake flavoured cloud. They also stock a good range of gins, we finished our meal with a rhubarb gin and ginger ale, if you are looking for a place to eat out, or even just somewhere new for a few drinks, I could not recommend this venue highly enough.

Had a meal here yesterday and it was absolutely spot on. I could not fault it! This has got to be a top eating place in Ipswich now. Not only is the food delicious but the bar and restaurant are beautifully decorated, making it a great place to be. Very highly recommended.
