First visit to ravenswood harvester was impressed all round , fabulous service from Karen , friendly very helpful definitely worth the visit

A little disappointed with the main course. I had the chicken that had the chicken fries, they just tasted like all batter., Bread rolls were hard. preferred when it had chicken strips. Salad selection was limited

I went in tonight with my brother and we were welcomed with such friendly faces. We were seated and introduced to our server named Riley who was so friendly and had fantastic customer service skills. He was so helpful and patient and he really did go above and beyond for us. We will definitely be returning and hope to see Riley again!

Chef Ethan and server Gemma were great. We were greeted promptly at the door and managed to squeeze us in even though we didn't have a booking (it was very busy) Gemma was really lovely to us and even told us about certain offers to use on the app. Food was to a good standard by Chef and really enjoyed it. We had a lovely time and made use of the 'kids eat for £1' deal. The staff were friendly and attentive. The Harvester was a big part of my childhood but I haven't been as much in adulthood. Years ago, I was disappointed when the chicken stack changed from plum sauce to BBQ, but I ordered it anyway this time and thorougly enjoyed it. I had never had cornbread before but it was very good. The meal was presented beautifully. I enjoyed the salad bar and how it hasn't really changed since the 90s. My children were able to experience the classic pineapple, sweetcorn, cucumber combo!

As my 1st time as a customer, I wouldn't recommend it because of the pub service. It took 24 minutes from the time we were seated by the manager, and he left us the menus to a waiter acknowledging us. The waitress told me that no one told her about our table, so she apologised for the delay. The service was great. She also helped me to navigate the menu as I am gluten and dairy intolerant. Unfortunately, it only offers limited options, In my case, I couldn't have the cod fish with chips because it's cooked in butter. Instead, I shared a mix grill plater I gave the service 3 stars because of the waiting time. And no, it wasn't busy at all. Only 4 tables. The atmosphere was ok.

Had a meal at harvester today, but sadly we wont be going back, it took ages before someone took our order. The rolls at the salad bar were dry, the salad selection wasnt very great. My partners main meal was awful, his simply chicken was very dry and very small, his gravy looked more like thick glue and was very reluctant to leave the jug as so thick. His peas and veg were tasteless. My meal was ok the half a chicken with hot honey. We watched the waitress kick a dropped knife under the table. And another waitress dropped a tray of glasses over the floor.

Nice and clean with very good service

Being honest, we knew the food was never likely to be amazing, fair enough it's only a Harvester.... however.... The service we received from our server who was called Kat was off the chart great Kat turned what was a very average meal out into a great little evening Rare to find these days but Kat really went the extra mile to look after us. Friendly, fun and helpful. We had a great little chat about Ipswich and the old days and for staff to take the time to stop and have a chat with the customer was great So if you're looking for some friendly service and off the chart people skills - pop to Harvester at Ransomes and hope that Kat is your server !!

Had a bit of a wait to have my order taken and it wasn't even busy(3 tables occupied) including mine.. my chicken burger was bland and dry after I watched it waiting to be bought over to me for atleast 10 minutes as it sat on the service counter..I had the 2 course lunchtime deal for £13.99 and the refill drink option they attempted to overcharge me by nearly £10... I wonder how many people don't even check there bill?...this whole visit to harvester was enough to make me not want to return again that's for sure 👎👎👎👎

Was shown to a table and then forgot about, after a good 20 mins got fed up with waiting it's a good job there's other places to eat nearby. Waitresses didn't even offer to take drink order, definitely wouldn't recommend this place. We went in 1.30 so dinner rush was over.

Shocking really, we came for breakfast and the girl didn’t even great us she just muttered under her breath and walked off. Leaving us standing in the doorway. A young lad came over and apologised for the wait and then seated us. The girl server then came back and she was just very off and rude. Sighing and tutting a lot at the table next to us. She got a lot of their order wrong as was just being very strange. When we eventually ordered our food and drinks at the same time, the food came on time but the drinks never showed. We asked three times for the coffee and a cup to use the refill Cokes but by the time they eventually turned up we had finished our breakfast! The tables all around us had the same thing with drinks never showing. The poor young lad was being asked so much because the girl was just a complete mess. Then to top it off part of the ceiling was hanging down with wires exposed and a hell of a draft was coming through. When we asked about it they just looked confused at us. The whole morning was really bizarre. We won’t be returning in a hurry !

Seemed a little understaffed - had to wait at the front desk for a few minutes before being greeted and taken to a table. At the salad bar, there were a number of items depleted and not being quickly replenished, including both salad items and sauces and toppings. Also real butter. So quite a few items I wanted! Didn't feel like bothering the already busy staff with the long list, so I made do. But the waiter for our table was at least friendly and responsive and did a satisfactory job. Food was satisfactory, fine but no more than that - I do think the prices are steep compared to the quality and portions of the food, I was using a discount voucher so was happy in that range, but wouldn't feel I had value if I paid full prices.

This place exceeded all expectations with its vibrant flavors and cozy decor. The friendly staff made it a standout dining experience.

After ordering our food we didn't see our waitress once , not to check if everything was ok or if we needed anything, can't put it down to business as there was only about 4 tables there , the food was lovely but service left a lot to be desired, after finishing our meals we stacked the plates and waited for the bill however after about 30 minutes of waiting we decided to just get up and pay at the bar where we didn't receive an apology for the wait or anything, feel like as soon as our food arrives we where forgotten about, not the kind of service I'd expect from harvester especially when it was quiet.

Lovely meal. Date night for my husband and I. Fab food and great atmosphere.

To much money for what I had 21 .00 for sirloin steak I slice of tomato I half of mushroom few peas 2 onion rings and chips

The staff are really friendly and caring and seem to try very hard to please and today I was there with my elderly mother who is quite fussy and asks for things that are not on the menu and they did everything they could to make her happy which they achieved and she loved her meal. It was a lovely time .

Both our main dishes were stone cold, sent back and came back slightly warmer. The first waitress couldn't apologize enough. Not offered any discount, just given the full bill, will not be returning.

Currently sitting in here with 2 young kids waiting for some staff to appear. We finished eating more than half an hour ago and we're getting bored. There are only 4 other tables occupied. The food was bad. The kids both had fish fingers & chips. When it finally arrived, the fish fingers were the temperature of lava while the chips and everything else was cold & limp. The floor around the tables bore the remnants of previous diner's meals while the areas that were wooden floors were so sticky I feared the children might be trapped should they venture on to them. All in all, this place is a dive that serves awful food.

Nice atmosphere and welcoming. Seemed clean and we had our hopes up. 2 adults and 3 children with a booking at 5pm. Food took about 30 minutes to arrive. The server stated they were out of anything grilled. No chicken or beef skewers, no rotisserie chicken, no combos. All they served was burgers and chicken with waffles. Food was disgusting. Burger tasted frozen, something I could have got at McDonald’s. My wife’s corn bread was hard a rock. My son’s cheese pizza was dried out and over cooked. My other son’s chicken fries were dry and cracked to pieces mostly made of breading. Food sitting under heat lamps too long likely. Heat lamps may be way too hot. Obviously frozen and not hand battered. Would not return.

First time to this harvester. Lovely lunch, great value for money. Gemma was our server, she was lovely, v friendly, welcoming and attentive. Riley and Jack were our chefs. Pls pass on our thanks to them.

We had a great meal here on Thursday night. Despite some menu shortages the food was lovely and a particular shoutout to Paige who was an absolute diamond of a waitress, despite having items mission she went above and beyond to make sure everything was good. She’s a credit to you!

Came for my daughter's birthday. Very busy. New trainee waitresses served us. She was very friendly and attentive. Very impressed. Nice experience. Food was great. Will definitely come back again.

Good selection for as a carnivore and for a vegans/ vegetarian too. Sirloin steak is good and tender. Beyond the meat burger is great and delicious too. Fish is good size and crispy outside and tender inside, as perfect. Salad bar should refill more frequently, but anyway it's a good, cosy restaurant nearby me. We were second time there, but I am sure we will return back soon.

Staff seemed overrun. They really do try but there just aren't enough of them. Presentation of food (breakfast) is very appealing. We got the drinks late and they were not like described (no whipped cream, no cookie, mine was even iced while described as hot). We didn't bother getting a new one as we had already waited so long and staff was swamped.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant tonight with my family. Two of our meals had to be refunded because they were served raw, and most of the other dishes contained burnt items. Additionally, several items in the salad bar were swimming in water, which was unpleasant. We were seated near the bar and could see both the waiting and kitchen staff frequently chatting, despite the restaurant being busy. We had to constantly remind the staff to take our order, and even then, our drinks were forgotten and not served until we asked multiple times. My family and I usually enjoy dining at Harvester, as it’s a good option for kids. However, after tonight’s experience, I will definitely be looking for better alternatives in the future.

Went here for a family meal before Christmas. 18 of us in total so pre-ordered our meals mid-November. Arrived at 12:30. The first thing I felt compelled to do was speak to a member of staff about the state of the female toilets. Despite there being a yellow ‘cleaning in progress.’ sign outside, this clearly was not the case. The first toilet had actual faeces on the toilet seat. The toilet I actually used had marks around the bowl and very little toilet paper. Drinks took a while to arrive although we ordered them shortly after arrival- but there were a few of us. The food took an hour and half to arrive. We asked several times when it would be coming and were, each time, told about 20 minutes. The four children in our group really struggled with the wait. When the food did arrive, some of the chips were cold. The children’s burger was as dry as cardboard. The rest was ok at best. Be careful when paying your bill as several members of our group were charged separately for mains and desserts that were supposed to be a two-course deal. Even though the children’s meal specifically states that it comes with dessert, you’ll have to point that out as well. When we complained about the wait, part of the group was offered a 20% discount, but not everyone. We queried why the wait was so long when they knew what time we would be coming and what we would be eating, and why tables that arrived after us were eating before us - we were told by a manager that ‘the meals weren’t put in a microwave and done in two minutes.’ True- but they certainly didn’t take an hour and a half to cook either. Aside from the time, the food was overpriced for what it was. I had a portion of chips, a halloumi skewer with 5 small pieces of halloumi, 4 bits of pepper and some onion, a small flatbread and a side salad which was served in a sauce dish- it was no more than two fork fulls- for £15. So, if you want to wait ages for some overpriced mediocre food where the toilets are filthy- go ahead! I certainly won’t be stopping there again

Family visit for breakfast with santa. Excellent service from Jake who handled our party well. Food arrived promptly and was enjoyed by everyone. Thank you to chef Sarah and team. Would definitely recommend.

Faye was out server and she really apologized for the lack of staff, but still got our order and for delivered quickly. Thanks Faye, also thanks to Jack and Riley in the kitchen for a lovely rack of ribs and piri chicken. Will definitely go there again, food was well priced, very nice and service excellent. 5 stars all round.

I normally go to Harvester for breakfast but went for lunch today. Lovely service from Louise, she is always very attentive and polite. Delicious and well presented food from Jack & Riley in the kitchen.

Only downside was the beer was coming out hot so we couldn't have a pint ... wouldn't charge the same for bottled beer as pump... syrup in Pepsi max was so strong it was sickly

Food was OK didn't expect too much from a Harvester restaurant. Small choice on drinks that were actually available. Staff were not great, very slow on service and had to be reminded to bring parts of the meal. I was not impressed with how the manager was dressed I expect to see better than scruffy casual. But my biggest gripe was the high chair supplied to my grandaughter. It had no tray on the front of it. And when I asked the staff about this they informed us that the chairs do not come with a tray!! Obviously they are not up for the job.

Not enough staff to serve anyone. Useless. Will actively tell people to avoid this place now.

Tasty food, Camembert tart and Jacket could have been a bit hotter. Chicken Classic burger was good with tasty chips. Wine bit pricey (for Jam Shed) but lovely. Waitresses were friendly and efficient. Would definitely come again.

Both had steak, I asked for medium and my friend asked for rare. Steaks were served the wrong way round with the wrong sauce and chips/jacket. 1 had 2 onion rings on and the other one had 3 onion rings on. 1 had a tomato on and one didnt. We just swapped the steaks round and shared the onion rings and tomato. Overall, didn't ruin experience but if I had ordered steak and had it cooked rare I would have asked for it to be cooked some more but think they were just served on the wrong plate.

Well congratulations!! The worst place I’ve eaten this year by some margin! Cold restaurant and no parking, Too few servers for number of people in restaurant. 70mins for main to arrive after ordering!! Saw food sitting in hatch for 15mins before been delivered! 30mins after finishing mains and we had to chase down server to try and get desert! Limited desserts as they had run of of ice cream etc. Never will I go to a Harvester again.

food is diabolical! a cremated chicken breast, tiny rack of barely cooked ribs with no sauce thrown in a mess of rice in a cardboard box! absolute rip off at £23 delivered!

Sad to say food was not very good at all. 9 of us ate, only 2 people enjoyed their food. The "simply chicken" was chewy and not very nice One person had steak which was grisly and inedible (they did not charge us for that in the end to be fair) Overall, very disappointed and won't be returning

I have been visiting this particular restaurant for years and it has always been good. Unfortunately this time I visited it was terrible. The restaurant has been declining for a while and this last visit on 27th October is likely to be my last one. When we got there I observed that the restaurant was only about 35% full. It was a Sunday evening and is to be expected. We were placed at a table and given menus. After about 15 minutes nobody had come back to even ask if we wanted drinks or to take our order. We went back to the main desk and asked to be moved to a different table stating that we were being forgotten. The staff said we weren't, it was just that a big table in the other end of the restaurant had been monopolising their time. I looked and this was only a table of 8 people - not exactly huge. Finally we were asked for our order, which was taken. We had been in the restaurant about 20 minutes by now. The restaurant was very cold and a lot of people were complaining. At one point the duty manager asked my wife to move so she could reach the temperature controls. Unbelievably these are located up high on a column. The manager had to reach them by standing on the seat! When done she didn't even wipe the seat where she had been standing, which was where my wife was originally sitting. We were given bowls for the salad bar. When I got there everything was very depleted. Some things had completely run out. All the sauces were empty. Appalling. We were then becoming acutely aware of the female chef standing at front of house. She was being loud, crashing around, talking constantly at full volume and flirting with other staff members. She was knocking back Red Bull like there was no tomorrow. I think she must have been on acid or something. It was making the atmosphere very uncomfortable. Even the other staff were complaining about her! After about another half an hour there was no sign of our meals. They again seemed to be concentrating solely on the 'big' table of 8. Food for this table was coming out sporadically and was being lined up on the counter for collection. Some of the plates were sitting there for at least 10 minutes with people walking past, the mad chef talking constantly and breathing all over them. I don't know about anyone else, but when a plate is ready I would expect it to be taken straight to the table. I was shocked. We were there for 50 minutes in total and this charade seemed never ending. By the end of it we were thoroughly pissed off with the atmosphere, staff attitude, lack of attention and having been there for 50 minutes with no sign of food in a restaurant that was only at 35% capacity. I also observed other customers being ignored in a similar manner. At this point we had had enough and got up and walked out. The staff weren't even apologetic - it was almost like they were glad to see the back of us. The whole experience was shocking. It was a Sunday evening and I get the impression that the staff didn't care and just wanted to get home. The salad bar being practically empty is also unacceptable - I expect to have the same level of service at any time of the week, as we are being charged the same amount regardless. The staff looked scruffy too. Many tables were not properly cleaned. This whole experience was dreadful and has completely put me off eating out. Shame on you Harvester - continue like this and you'll be out of business.

Archie our waiter was very kind and attentive. The food was nice, the Sirloin steak was very rare considering we asked for medium rare, however all other food was great.

Very upset with the service tonight. Upon arrival it took 5 minutes for someone to 'welcome' us and sit us down. The young man who did welcome us barely uttered a word and just threw our menus on the table and disappeared never to be seen again. No welcome or have you been here before or even basic courtesy. We were sat next to an open door with a horrible draft coming in. We asked to be moved and to be fair this was accommodated by another member of staff. We then sat there for another 30 minutes without any service whatsoever. Multiple members of staff walked past our table and not one tried to serve us and I could hear the floor staff and chefs arguing over someone who hadn't been served food for over 70 minutes which I hope isn't true. To make it worse I could see members of staff over by the bar chatting away with each other ehisly tables were not being cleared and thebines that were werent cleaned to any sort of standard. If the restaurant was busy I could maybe understand the wait but it was only half full. We eventually chose to leave the restaurant after 30 minutes of being ignored and upon notifying a member of staff of this all they could say was 'oh sorry' there was no attempt to rectify the issue whatsoever. I very rarely leave reviews but this was appalling. I don't know what's happening at this restaurant but its going down hill compared to what we've experienced there before. We will definitely never be returning.

Two main meal selections had to he changed due to lack of stock. Salad bar 3/4 empty, very slow to be restocked. Main course took 60mins tocarrive from placement of order. Oncarrivalcwe were warned service 'might be a little slow due to lack of staff', but 60mins to deliver two main courses from order is not 'a little slow' it is 'non existent'. Very poor.

Gemma was very attentive and ensured that our orders were taken with care and sought to help us when we needed a menu change. A great staff member who served with such a pleasant demeanour.

We recently stopped by Harvester for breakfast, and it was a delightful way to start the day. Our server, Louise, was fantastic—welcoming, cheerful, and attentive without being intrusive. She quickly got us settled and made sure our drinks were always full, while also giving great recommendations from the breakfast menu. The breakfast itself, cooked by Chef Riley, was impressive. I went for the classic breakfast, and everything was cooked to perfection—the eggs were just right, the bacon crispy, and the sausages packed with flavour. The hash browns were crispy and golden. You can tell Riley puts effort into making a hearty, well-prepared breakfast. The laid-back, cozy atmosphere added to the experience, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed breakfast. Between Louise’s friendly service and Riley’s excellent cooking, it’s a breakfast I’d happily come back for. If you're looking for a satisfying and well-cooked start to your day, Harvester won’t disappoint!
