Smoke BBQ catered a party we held at home for 60 people to celebrate our son’s baptism. The photo does not do justice as to how good the trailer looked on the driveway, but it’s the only one I have… Sofia and Charles were very easy to deal with in the build up, providing clear (and fair) pricing to cater for our large crowd. We didn’t need to do anything on the day with Charles setting up the trailer whilst we were out and food was cooking as guests arrived. Our guests raved about the quality, variety and flavour of the food - with amazing BBQ brisket / pulled pork / chicken provided. Whilst it’s a ‘meaty’ menu, veggies were well catered for too. Sides such as fries and slaw did not feel like they were made en masse and were better than any other street food vendor I’ve ever frequented. We’ve always loved the restaurant, but the outside catering truly exceeded our expectations and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others / use again ourselves. Thank you SBBQ!

Okay, I was excited for this one…. But it’s just not that great. The foods okay but it’s not that mind blowing BBQ we all want and expect. And it is SO expensive, like £19.00 for 3 ribs is a joke despite how “big” they are. I also got the brisket added on for £9.50 and I got 3 very thinly sliced pieces. Fact is…. It’s just not worth the money.

The best mac n cheese I’ve ever tasted 😋 My family really enjoyed their burgers too. Highly recommend this lovely place to eat

Excellent first visit to this BBQ restaurant in Bishops Stortford. We couldn’t decide what to order so we went for a selection of small bites to share. The burnt ends and crispy pork belly were sublime with the bbq and buffalo sauce that’s available on your table. The mac & cheese with blue cheese was heavenly! The service was prompt and friendly, the drink selection was excellent too. Will most certainly be back for a further exploration of the menu.

This is just the best!!!!! We have eaten here in person only once before, had several takeaways during COVID, and have had lots of yummy bits from the 'on the go' food truck. Today we ate in the restaurant and it was divine. Brilliant cocktails, incredible food, Belgian Brewer beer, which is incredible. Gluten free options labelled on menu. I didn't get any photos because I was too busy enjoying the food!!!

Took my wife for dinner, we had a faultless experience. The food was cooked to perfection and packed full of flavour. We had the smoke feast, it was incredible. The service was great, love the decor and it's excellent value for money. If you are a meat lover, you have to try! This is the best restaurant in Bishops Stortford. Looking forward to trying more of the menu.

The food at this place is absolutely amazing and I could not recommend it anymore. It was our first time there and we told all about the meat they had on offer and how it is cooked/smoked and this gave us real confidence they knew what they were talking about. Service was quick and easy getting our first drinks and ordering our mains. However, once the mains had come out that was it! The service pretty much stopped. We weren’t offered anymore drinks, no chance of asking for dessert. It pretty much felt like we needed to leave as soon as possible. As the only ones left in the restaurant with still plenty of time until closing it felt like we weren’t wanted so we got our bill and left. This was the only downer on the restaurant and I can only say the service post mains could have been a lot better but prior to that it was perfect and very welcoming.

Been here a couple of times. The food is always amazing and staff have always been friendly, and especially on the last occasion for being so accommodating; as me and my friends were very late due to a problem with Taxis. They had no issues holding the table for us, despite it being much later than the 15 minute grace period most restaurants would hold your table for. The waiter even then apologised for a delay in our drinks coming out due to changing the barrel, and really we were just relieved we still had our table and had a drink at all! It was a great night for a friends birthday and we appreciated the service we received.

Greeted on the door by a friendly chap who took us to our table. The chap who took our order was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was out of this world. I had trouble picking an item from the menu as it all looked and sounded soo good. Can't wait to go again and I live 40 miles away!

Great little place, I can imagine it would be heaving of a weekend the food was lovely, but I felt they overpriced some items unnecessarily. For example £3.75 for a can of Cream soda when you can buy 24 for £7 retail is just too much. Or £4.00 for a small side of chips. The burgers on the other hand, whilst pricey, are well worth the money, they were delicious.

Fantastic Independent restaurant. brilliant and very friendly service. Family friendly. had the beef brisket which it was amazing, very tasty, and super soft. My partner had the roast, which she said was the best roast she had eaten in a very long time. 100% would recommend to friends and family to visit.

Ordered from deliveroo. They missed out my main meal, the Mac and cheese, which meant I had no dinner.

Absolutely fabulous spot for BBQ meat! The owner talked us through every dish and was very knowledgeable. Also 99% of the menu was gluten free and the owner was really clued up on cross contamination etc. Will be back!

Burger was nice but service was awful , complained about Irish coffee and owner got attitude about that not the way foward but won’t go back

Delicious food and great service and atomosphere. The restaurant was busy and populare this night. Lucy was very friendly.

Burgers were all nice, although my sister had a bit of onion skin in hers. Two of us ordered rosemary fries and one ordered garlic and parsley, but we all had the same, plain chips. The wings were quite dry and had no sauce on, despite us asking for BBQ. To top it all off, there was a hair in my chips! It did also seem very expensive for what it was. On the plus side, it was ready to collect in 10 minutes on a Friday night - but is that worth hairy chips? 😂

Food was great and authentic, beer choice great, 3 out of 5 of us were fussy eaters and all well sorted. Keep forgetting to come back due cost of living etc but this restaurant deserves supporting.

Lovely midweek meal in a busy restaurant, great food nice beer, very meat heavy but it's what we expected and weren't disappointed!

We had Smoke BBQ Kitchen at our wedding last week and it went down an absolute treat with everyone! From start to finish they were so easy to work with and the food truck was a great addition to our festival style wedding. The food was 11/10 & they were the talk of the wedding. High recommend and we will definitely be back to the restaurant to dine again. Thank you!! x

Amazing food, great to eat in or takeaway. The owners are really friendly & explain the food so you really feel their passion for what they do! We love to support local rather than a big chain.

The food was poor, no flavour and small portions. The brisket was taken from the fridge and heated for a minute on a grill. The owner has a very dismissive attitude with no customer care or service. Prices are expensive for what you get. I would not recommend. Nothing like a true smokehouse.

As a sixth generation Texan, I've got a well honed appreciation for fine smoked and slow cooked meat. This place is top notch excellent barbecue. The owner learned his skills in South Africa at the braai but excels at Southwestern US cooking. I had brisket burnt ends and the Low'n Slow burger with a slab of brisket on the beef. Damn fine food! Highest recommendation if you like slow cooked fine pieces of beef.

I would have given 5 stars, but you have some steps to go down into the reception, then dining is upstairs. We loved the food. Drinks were good apart from one beer, which was warm. Server was nice and polite.

Hands down the best restaurant in Bishop’s Stortford in my opinion! When we entered the restaurant we was instantly greeted by friendly and welcoming staff! The customer service is brilliant, and Charles’ customer service is exceptional! He is very informative about the meats offered on the menu, what they are, where from the animal it is, how it is prepared and cooked. Me and our party was so impressed with the detail and care Charles gave. The food is excellent & absolutely top tier! I had the beef brisket and it was amazing!! The customer service remained the same level of perfection even when it got busy! I absolutely love Smoke BBQ Kitchen and can’t wait to return! It’s 1000/10! Amazing ❤️👏🏼

Incredible restaurant serving incredible food. The Smoke Feast was an incredible mix of beef ribs, burnt ends, sausage and chicken along with sweetcorn, garlic bread, excellent chips, coleslaw and sweetcorn. Amazing!

If you like the taste of smoky bbq then this place has what you need Wanted to go here for a long time and it lived up to my expectations! Service was very friendly and food was served quickly. I recommend the challenge only the the hungry.

Ohh my....first timer here! Been there with friends and it was fantastic!!!! Food is just absolutely fabulous. You have all the options for the different meat you prefer, I do definitely recommend to do some combo if you can stuff all that in to your tummy! Their Alabama Slaw was a heaven to me loved all the different sauces too. Another plus side to me was as whatever comes with chips/fries, you got a tons of that delicious smoked meat and just enough potato on the side, but not overwhelmed loved the ratio! I do definitely go back and try more from their selections 🥴❤️

My partner and I visited Smoke BBQ kitchen on the 15th February, to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant is easy to find. We walked in, and we’re greeted instantly. The smell of the smoker cooking all the meats hits you, and this was when I knew we were going to have a great meal. My partner ordered the mac and cheese main, and I ordered the smoked brisket plate. We also ordered cocktails, my partner a mojito and I a pina colada. Both were well made and moreish. The food arrived quickly, we both tucked in, my partner said it was the best mac and cheese he has ever had at a restaurant, and he’s had a few. My brisket was hot, tender and so delicious. Everything was delicious, and so filling. We had to get to go boxes we were so full. The staff were so kind and helpful, they are an asset to the restaurant and you can see how passionate they are for their work. We will be back soon!

Well organised menu. Good daily specials. 2-4-1 Wings Wednesday worth a dabble. Burgers are good. Sunday lunch is popular. Local beers. I’m not quite sure why I can’t give this place 5 stars at the moment. I would definitely recommend. You won’t be disappointed. It’s personal choice whether you like to make it a regular place to eat. For me it’s very occasional. It’s always good and the staff are lovely

Amazing food, amazing service. Would definitely recommend a visit. 2 for 1 on smashed burgers (we went on a Thursday). Amazing value for money and the food was great. Probably one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. We had the Slow and Low and the Boston Butt, the slaw it comes with its lush too. Would Recommend getting the Garlic fries too. The staff were lovely and so helpful, we hadn’t been before so they explained the menu and answered any questions we had about the smoking of the meat. Super smiley and friendly. Would 100% go here for a burger and a pint.

Wonderful experience, we stopped for dinner based on the reviews before flying out of stansted. The food was absolutely delicious, the smokey flavours were amazing, the service was spot on, the owner served us alongside another waitress, explained the menu and gave great explanations and recommendations, really a mark above other restaurants - support local people who are smashing it!

We drive past all the time but never think to go in as you cant tell from the outside what it looks like. Decided to give it a go today and we were so pleased we did!!!! Best burgers we've tasted!! The garlic and parsley fries were delicious, nice cosy atmosphere, and great friendly service. Would highly recommend!!!!

Lovely restaurant. Got the smoke sharing platter for 2 was more than enough food and everything was delicious. I have say the chicken and the rub was probably the best chicken I have had. Looking forward to trying the burgers and the at home kits.

We went last night with another couple having experienced their food at a Summer outdoor event. That was good but last night was amazing. The pork ribs and beef brisket were divine! Now planning to go back on a Wednesday for 2 for 1 chicken wings, and maybe a Sunday lunch. You must try this restaurant!

Four of us ordered four different meals, all were superb. My partners rib tray was so tender and well flavoured and my brisket tray was the best brisket I have ever had. Service friendly and prompt, will definitely be returning.

First time visiting and we weren't dissapointed! At first the size of the place threw me off, being as small as it is but I soon got over it. The staff were absolutely lovely, one of the ladies was especially enthusiastic about their festive cocktail when I asked what was inside it. (Being a manager of a bar myself I like to know what's in the cocktails I drink). The cocktails were done beautifully and the food! To die for. I had ribs which fell off the bone beautifully. My partner had one of the bigger platters (which he struggled to finish) but that was absolutely beautiful as well. I will definetly be recommending this place to everyone. Stunning! Best food in our trip in England. We are Sunday roast with brisket. That was amazing good. Brisket was one of the best that I have ever eaten.

Foods great but haven’t been back because the wait is ridiculous. at first it was kinda excusable but at this point it’s just not worth it, especially since it opens so late

First time just brilliant all round

Food is advertised as being cooked slow and low!! it’s not! Food is tasteless and has never seen the inside of a smoker or even a BBQ! It’s been either steamed or braised then chilled and finished on a charcoal grill which is not by any definition bbq food. Not seasoned or sauced so absolutely no flavour to any of the meats the best tasting thing was the fries and the corn on the cob. I would suggest the owners take a trip to the US and try some actual BBQ food and then learn how to work in hospitality as the service is absolutely shocking!

We ordered delivery, burnt ends, mac'n'cheese, dirty fries and sweet potato fries. We had ordered from here before, but didn't recall the portion sizes. When the delivery arrived, I actually asked the guy, if that was it, a small bag, for my £30 ?!! It was just for 2 of us, but there was barely enough for one! I wish I'd take photos of the half empty pots, less than a handful of sweet potato fries, the pulled pork dirty fries, were slightly bigger; the burnt ends were the size of four ikea meatballs, the mac'n'cheese was almost a decent size. Now, what we did have tasted delicious, just very expensive for what we had. Nowhere did I read reviews that echoed small portions, in fact they were all to the contrary. One said, 'we had to take home our leftovers!', I'm wondering if that's what we received...their leftovers!!? So my advice, if you want to spend £30 per head, on some really tasty appetisers, try this place, however, if you're hungry and want a takeaway, pick anywhere else!

Amazing food and excellent waitress

I've eaten here twice now (both times the night before a flight out of Stansted, as it's a short drive from the airport). On both occasions I've had what can only be described as exceptionally good BBQ'd & smoked meats. I challenge anybody to leave here hungry 😂. In my experience the staff have been very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be visiting again in the future. If you're traveling by car there's a pay and display car park a very short walk away. Parking is free after 18:30.

I have had ribs here before and there like if Jesus himself cooked them and chips more crispy then idk crispyness with lots of options and sauces

OMG the food was amazing. I had the ribs and they were easily the best I have ever had. The house sauces are great too! The food challenges are not free if you finish but you do get your picture on the wall of fame if you like. If you like barbecue this is the place to come. The portions are indulgent and the staff are very switched on about allergies. Unfortunately bathrooms and access is only by stairs. The cocktails were fab and they carry local guest ales. It's not a cheap place for dinner but it was incredible. The staff were friendly and easy to gain attention of. Gratuity of 10% is automatically added to the bill.

We visited in July 2022, we all ordered burgers, tasted great, friendly service. We were let down on children's menu, told the children's dessert was same as the adults but half price, nobody said this did not apply to the specials, which was only strawberries and ice cream so ended up paying full price plus hit full price for another child's dessert which should have been half price. And the 10% mandatory service charge, never a winner, should be able to decide the tip, generally never been back to a restaurant that adds mandatory service charge. Was a shame as food was good, let down by the bill being wrong/missinformed and the mandatory tip of a past generation.

Had a lovely Saturday night dinner here for 2. Value for money you could not ask for more, the amount of meat you get was amazing and it was all perfect! The ribs just fell off the bone and we’re the best I have ever had. The service was great and they take really good care of you. Also the beer was really good they have on tap. Very nice to eat somewhere different and unique. Could not recommend more!

The food is not bad but it's over priced for the location. It also isn't prepared per the menu, both our burgers came with raw onions rather the advertised fried onions. Fries are not included with burgers, which for the cost I feel they should...
