If you haven’t tried Picos I would! Tucked away and small inside but a lovely hidden gem - food is amazing

Very good tapas! My favourite was pasteis de bacalhau/ codfish cakes. We had it with sangria that was very good as well. The lady is very kind.

We visited here as meal out for our anniversary, we had ribs, chicken, peri peri chicken, calamari, and a few other bits. It was all edible apart from chicken which was very dry. Alot of if lacked flavour, and alot of it tasted like something frozen from tesco, ribs tasted like they were prepacked rubbish. Could have done a better job at home myself for the £45 it came to. Dont bother wasting your money

Great little place. Very good quality food, superb service and vibrant atmosphere, what more can you ask of a top tapas bar. It's small and popular so booking is a must. Will definitely visit again.

Went mid afternoon and we were the only people in there, on an evening due to the size I expect you would have to book. Fantastic menu with loads to choose from plus some specials. Had 4 dishes each plus garlic bread and all were beautiful. Will definitely return

We went for our first visit Sunday lunchtime as a large family group of all ages and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The restaurant were incredibly helpful arranging a large table for us, and the atmosphere was lovely with nice background music. Staff were friendly and service was excellent but the main thing was the food, which was exceptional! We won’t hesitate to become regulars and cannot recommend Pico enough!

Lovely intimate atmosphere, great food, nice portions. Waitress Regina is without doubt the best waitress in town. She works tirelessly to keep you happy. House wines are fine, and there is a proper wine list, mostly Portuguese. We had calamari, prawns, peri-peri chicken, all very good. Booking essential.

Always end up spending loads at tapas restaurants, and this was no exception - but the food is decent and the staff are great

The place is okay. I liked the setting and colours Would recommend Overall the bar is okay if you want to chill with your friends.

This restaurant opened a year or so ago. Now visited three tones - twice with friends and once with family. It’s a cafe style look and layout - Formica tables- but this lends itself to the genuine Spanish feel. Family run. Good service and good tapas menu. Enjoyed it every time

We were recommended this tapas by friends. It was possibly the worst tapas we have ever eaten. Not the sort of menu you would expect, chicken was dry, never eaten chorizo like it tasted like processed, strange, never again. Service was good and staff friendly.

This is a brilliant local little restaurant. We visited without a reservation on a busy Saturday night and the owner and his staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. They were fully booked but sat us at the bar and delivered delicious dish after dish accompanied by fab Portuguese wine. There is such a wide choice of tapas and main courses; we had the flaming chorizo, spicy prawns, octopus in garlic butter and little green peppers. All fantastic. There is a fun relaxed atmosphere and everyone looked to be having a good time. The Superbock and cocktails were going down a treat! Can not recommend highly enough. We will be back as soon as we can.

4 adults and 3 kids had a lovely lunch. I’d walked past this unassuming little place a few times and wondered about it. We had two set menus and the kids ordered individual dishes. Great value, hearty sized portions. The kids loved the mocktails & we had a cheeky cocktail too. We will definitely return. Very attentive waitress. Would recommend booking as it’s quite a small place.

after reading the previous fabulous reviews I was expecting more. Service was great, pricing was reasonable but the food itself was very average. Chorizo in red wine was greasy, and calamari strips were unexpectedly deep fried and very bland. Barbecue chicken wings were tasty, but the sauce was just dolloped on. A little care and attention to presentation would have raised the bar significantly.

This place is a hidden gem. Reasonably priced tapas & drinks, loved the perri perri chicken.

Oh my! This little (hidden) gem is just amazing. The food is outstanding- such a wide variety of meats, fish, poultry and vegetarian. The red carata wine was cheap and lovely too! I can’t wait to go back again!

This was the second time that my partner and I went to this place for tapas. We had Mexican chicken, meatballs, patatas bravas and pulpo a la gallega. Everything was very tasty and full of flavour. Place is very nice and cozy. Waitress friendly and efficient. Definitely will be coming back, next time with more people!

Delicious good food. Yummy chilli prawns soaked up with the garlic bread. We got so full but wanted more. Loved that we were supporting a local business. Super bock also goes down well! Well done Pico!

Second time we have been here now and loved it just as much as the first time. The lady who works there is very nice and friendly, who clearly works very hard but could do with some extra help as it does start to affect the service

Went here on a Friday night. Don't bother really. The food was awful! The meat balls were out of a packet. The cheese was dry, the calamari was like eating rubber (so bad it was inedible). The best thing about the place was the great reasonably priced cocktails and the padron peppers. No music either so lacked some atmosphere. Needless to say we won't be going back. Shame as I love tapas.

Went here for the first time and really enjoyed it. They have a long list of tasty tapas - all the usual ones plus a few extras. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend it. It’s really nice to support the independents as Stortford has so many chain restaurants.

Tasty small dishes for a good price.

Seven of us are here on a Saturday night (booking essential). We ordered one each of the two set menus and then one dish each. There was plenty, in fact if the food hadn't been so good I doubt we would have eaten it all. The beer and wine flowed freely and the bill was a very reasonable £25 per head. Great value for quality food

Nice meal, quick service. Loved the pastel de nata for a bargain price of £1.50! The octopus with paprika was lovely. The only thing I would say was the lights were so bright in there. Good value for money and would recommend. Thank you

I celebrated my birthday at Pico with my family a couple of weeks ago and we had a fabulous afternoon. Every dish was delicious, especially the Pulpo a la Gallega - to die for! - & all rounded off by wonderfully fresh bread. We chose from two Portuguese red wines, but both were superb. [They're not on the menu, but well worth ordering, especially if you're not familiar with Portuguese wine]. There were 13 of us, so it was a big table, but the young lady looked after us so well (it felt like sitting round the table at home) & so efficiently, but nothing was rushed. A definite go-to in Bishop's Stortford! Thank you!

Visited last night with friends. Great menu, great sevice, great food & great prices!! Definitely recommend!

I began my meal with an excellent Porn Star Martini at good price and it went on getting better. All the dishes we picked were excellent, especially the garlic prawns and Bbq ribs. Really nice olives and excellent tortilla Great garlic bread but did not really need it as potions are good. The young lady waiting on tables was really nice and made us feel very welcome. Will definitely be back

The tapas was delicious and there was a lot of choice. The sangria was just as delicious also. We really felt like we were on holiday in Spain/Portugal. it was just as good, if not better. The service was super speedy and the restaurant owner was so friendly. He chatted to us for about 20 minutes at the end and gave us a free aperitif. Very reasonably priced too. £80 for 10 tapas dishes, two jugs of sangria and unlimited bread. More than enough for the three of us. Couldn't recommend more. Will definitely be back.

Greeted warmly by Suzanne whilst being served delicious Super Boc lager. A perfect venue for 5 souls celebrating a birthday, consisting of a 15 and 13 year who thoroughly enjoyed the food.

Attended Saturday afternoon for lunch. Very pleased with the overall service, food and price. Relaxed friendly atmosphere with fresh tapas and cheap wine. Always nice to support an independent local business rather than an mediocre corporate chain. Will definitely return soon!

Great atmosphere! Great tapas! I would definitely recommend for a snack or full meal.. Nice to have the choice with tasty menu selection and good portion sizes at affordable prices.

Visited for a light snack to this newly opened tapas bar.. My first impression was of a great atmosphere and tasty menu with good selection for snack tapas or main meals. I chose Patatas Bravas and prawns in a spicy sauce. Delicious and good portions at reasonable prices. All cooked to order and they make their own sauces. Service was quick too, which was great for a lunchtime pit stop. I will definitely be back and would recommend visiting.

Food was great, decent portions. Fantastic service - very friendly and helpful. The manager even asked the kitchen to stay open 15 mins longer as we had to wait for a table. We nipped to the gin bar next door for a drink and he brought us the menu so we could order and wait there! Highly recommended.

Definitely plugs a gap in the Bishops Stortford dining scene, and has a good chance of being successful as long as the food is ok. From my visit I can confirm that it is not bad at all - a good selection, all reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was pretty good. The issue I have is that although most of the dishes were good, some were a bit so-so. Fried calamari should be a highlight of any tapas bar, but here it is soft and chewy (reheated?), the garlic bread is not very garlicky and the patatas bravas sauce needs to be spicier as its a bit bland. Everything else was hood though, and the octopus and chicken wings are highly recommended

Excellent dinner with family and friends at Picos. Great tasting tapas especially the garlic mushrooms, octopus and garlic prawns. Will definitely be back as super service as well as food.

This restaurant has re- invented itself as a tapas bar. What a reinvention! Food was absolutely fabulous. Very authentic. Very plentiful and extremely tasty. Service excellent as always but would recommend booking as jam packed tonight. Will definitely be back!

Lovely little place, just what stortford needs. We had 7 dishes between two, which was plenty. Highly recommend chorizo in red wine and the Mexican chicken. Reasonably price with a glass of wine and a pint £42

We have just found this place and nipped in for some lovely authentic tapas and sangria. Really friendly staff and this is a decent find, will 100% come again

We happened to pop in to Pico, they have only been open 4 days. The service was friendly and efficient and they are excited about their new adventure.
