The best restaurants in East Midlands

Check before going!!! Called in but closed for private event. No signs until you have parked and walked right to the door. Cant even see sign as you drive by as sign on internal door! Not impressed. Wont try a second visit. Poor.

We hada grate weekend stay them rooms were lovely and clean, and the staff were so lovely and friendly and so helpful as well.we will no doubt go back at some time as it was so good

The Cartright's, Val Mart Jac Ray, Sunday lunch is simply The best, food is delicious wholesome fresh and tasty, the staff are kind caring and helpful, thank you Paul Megan and lovely Julie we miss you.see you very soon.

Went for Mother’s Day meal as treat from family. Service was good food was excellent . Really recommend this village pub .

Spacious dining, excellent choice of menu items, attentive service even when busy.

Friendly, family-run place. Pleasing food. Felt a teeny bit dated - not sure about the radio blaring Radio 2, and a slight pivot towards coffee etc and the addition of a couple of sofas might generate enough local custom to stay open Tues-Thurs. But a good place and good food.

A beautiful place, out in the middle of nowhere. Lovely decor, friendly staff and fantastic food. A little pricey but worth every penny once you taste the food and get all the wonderful flavours your mouth. So if you're on a budget maybe try somewhere else. However if you're after marvellous food look no further.

Natalie was amazing tonight she came to the rescue when my daughter came in for an ice cream but it was late but luckily Natalie was there and she gave amazing customer service and was just so lovely. Thank you again Natalie

We had some issues with the just eat delivery, even though they couldn’t do anything to help they tried to advise and were really helpful the foods amazing and would highly recommend not many places actually care but these guys do credit where credit is due

Met with friends for a leisurely weekend lunch. None of us live locally but this place is in the middle for all of us. I've been here a few times before so recommended it for our meet up. Warm welcome and not rushed at all. The menu was extensive and the food was delicious. The puddings were really good!! This is a lovely country pub to wile away a few hours.

We popped in after litter picking the town centre... beautiful cakes and coffee.. a lovely treat after 3hrs collecting grot..will definitely visit again ...thank you for hosting Chesterfield Litter Pickers 👍🥰💚

Family visit again. No surprises, just great food and excellent service at a very good price. As always the atmosphere was good.

A very good coffee shop with excellent service and high-quality food. I especially appreciated the fresh salad that accompanied all our meals. However, I can’t give a full five stars due to two minor issues that could be improved. Firstly, we purchased crisps with our meals, but it was not made clear beforehand that crisps were already included with what we ordered. This could have been communicated more effectively. Secondly, the toasties my mother and I ordered were placed directly on top of our napkins, causing cheese to get all over them. While the staff were quick to provide replacements, this was an avoidable oversight, as it should have been obvious that the cheese would transfer onto the napkins. Despite these small issues, we had a great experience, and I would still recommend this coffee shop.

I had a fantastic experience at The Welby. Big thanks to Georgia she went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. Her friendly demeanor and expertise made the whole experience enjoyable. I highly recommend the food here as it was lovely, will be returning!
