Absolutely delightful place. Doesn’t look like much on the outside but warm and cosy and beautifully decorated on the inside. The food has been absolutely delicious every visit, homemade and very well cooked, great menu for all appetites, proper pub grub. One of the best pubs for food in Nottingham in my opinion and very reasonable. Best banoffee pie I’ve ever eaten. Service is also wonderful and very friendly and attentive!

Excellent Sunday lunch. Beef dinner came with half a cow!

Enjoyable visit for a meal and drinks

We didn't eat so can not comment on the food but enjoyed 2 visits. One we sat inside with the dogs and one sat in the garden. Drinks reasonably and very dog friendly, even selling treats.

We were made to feel very welcome. The atmosphere was lovely and the food amazing. Everyone was so lovely and so helpful. The tartar sauce was delicious!! Thank you - we will be back!!

Lovely countryside pub with good food. Outdoor & indoor seating available. Accessible by footpaths from RoT & Gunthorpe if you're up for a bit of a walk. Only minor negative for real ale aficionados is that selection on offer could be a bit wider.

This was a lovely pub with a very warm welcome. We enjoyed a delicious Sunday lunch and our 2 dogs were made to feel very welcome. Will return when we are next in the area.

Drove passed this pub quite a few times on the off chance I phoned them up to see if it was dog friendly so booked a table OMG the place is up there with the best I’ve been in staff and management so polite and the customers are really friendly 1st time I’ve been in there and felt right at home everyone in there basically came over and fussed the dogs Now on top of that the food was 1st class This was top restaurant food All in all a great Friday night Dogs loved all the fuss as well Will deffo be back

A traditional pub offering pleasant surroundings & selling good quality food & drinks. There is an outside bar & seating area as well as a very large car park. The staff are very pleasant & helpful making for a great place to visit 👍

Visited today and ate three courses as part of a Sunday roast. Nice location and friendly staff. I would have to mention that the food was of itself high quality, this was evident from the meat and fish provided. The food was also cooked perfectly and nicely presented. I would definitely recommend, and would absolutely return to eat here again.

Haven't tried the food, as we just popped in for a drink. A real village pub, with a friendly, warm atmosphere. Could see the kitchen and it looked impressive so may well be back to try the food. Has improved enormously since the last time I was there 20yrs ago!!

Popped in tonight for an impromptu dinner. Great food and good helpings. Extensive menu (about to undergo a tweak). Selection of four real ales. The new owners were really friendly and were proud to show us round. Tables were distanced so it had a nice spacious feel. Large car park. Ignore previous old reviews, the pub is under new ownership. We can't wait to go back and try Sunday Lunch. Highly recommended.

Booked for afternoon tea (for my friend’s birthday) after visiting the garden centre at EastBridgford. We had a really lovely afternoon in the garden. Staff were really lovely and attentive and couldn’t have looked after us anymore than they did. The food was so nice, especially the salmon and prawn sandwiches which were amazing!

This Pub, owned by the locals, offers a good range of Real Ales and serves up Great Pub Food, with excellent Service by the staff. Well worth paying a visit for best value and quality in the area.

Food was lovely. But a pint of fosters £4.00 but i have larger top and got charged a extra £1.10 for a dash of lemonade unreal. £5.50 for a larger top !!!!

Walked along the river from the Cliff in Radcliffe on Trent. Great walk to the pretty village of Shelford where the pub is situated. Nice big garden, friendly staff and delicious food. I will be going back for more!

We have regularly visited this pub for the last 30 years. We were sad when it closed in 2019 so we were pleased to hear it had opened again this year. We visited tonight for dinner. Service 10/10…food 10/10..VFM 10/10.. come on people support this amazing village pub..let’s keep it open and support the amazing staff trying to keep this facility open for the village of shelford and surrounding villages.

Excellent service. First class lunch ! Highly recommend ! despite the rude table next to us, complaining about nothing didn’t spoil our lunch. The customer service and the way the team dealt with the table complaining about nothing was top tier ! Definitely coming again

Had a meal here whilst stopping at the nearby caravan park. Food was good, with a fair selection. I would say that the prices are average. We enjoyed it so much we went back for Sunday dinner! Nice and cosy and well kept. Dog friendly inside and out. Staff were welcoming and hospitable. Nothing seemed too much trouble. Would definitely use again if in the village. Recommended *****

Our party of four attended and was greeted with a warm friendly smile from all the staff, everyone of them was pleasant on our 3 hour stay, the food was freshly cooked, the homemade steak pie was amazing, very good portions, the beer garden is lovely.The pub has recently been taken over, so ignore any previous bad reviews, you will not be disappointed.I would definitely recommend to everyone.

Went for a walk from East Bridgeford to Shelford. Went to pub for Sunday lunch. Beautiful. Had ourpuppy with us. Made us very welcome.

We had been out on a 7 mile walk with the dogs, was driving by the pub thinking it had been closed, but lo and behold it was open. Had not booked, so wife went into the garden to ask if we could eat, and a big warm yes. Really attentive young man, sorry did not get his name, but superb service. We had beer and wine and two roast dinners. Food was very good, although I did have a question over the roasties, not certain if they were out of a packet, but that aside really good portion, great tasting, but why a 4 below. Highly recommended.

Went for Sunday lunch with family. All Covid rules observed. Received a very warm welcome from Phil and Louise and their staff. Good choice of food which was excellent and gluten free option available for my Granddaughter. All in all a very pleasant experience for us all and the bill was most reasonable! We are sure to make a return visit.

Ok meal, too much for my son who was too old for the childs meal!

Hoping Bass will be back on sale, Sunday lunch was good but too much chicken, & knife needed to be sharper, pork needed another slice & crackling needed to be crisper, children's menu needs to include over 8s. Also apple pie needs to be on the menu, all well served & cooked & we will definitely be back.

No habíamos estado en el conde por un par de años.¡Oh querido! ! ! !Reservamos el restaurante pensando que sería agradable y acogedor.Solo se estaban utilizando 2 mesas, el resto estaban desnudas. Habían logrado enhebrar 1 línea de luces sobre una viga y colgar 2 bolas. ¿No hay árbol de navidad? ?La música era solo una radio tocando canciones de Navidad.Los alimentos. . . . . . . todos tuvimos terrina de faisán. Estaba muy seco, servido con una pequeña tostada. Me preguntaron si quería mi carne de res rosada o terminada al hacer el pedido. Pedí rosa, estaba bien hecho. La verdura había sido rápidamente cocinada en el microondas y estaba dura sin condimento. Las papas asadas estaban exageradas. El joven personal fue atento pero no sabía cómo manejar las quejas. La comida era barata a 94 en comparación con otros establecimientos de la zona. Lamentablemente fue 94 desperdiciado.Tengo la sensación de que al inquilino actual le gustaría terminar su participación. Ciertamente me han perdido como cliente

Popped in for a refreshing pint of Peroni and a coke for my lad. Pleasant location in a lovely village. Single staff behind the bar caused a slightly longer wait due to the other customers queing awaiting food 🍲 or drinks. due to the exceptionally hot day we had.

It's a nice enough place. Excellent that it was saved by local community investors. Beer selection was ok but maybe need a better known local brew eg Oakhams JHB or Castle Rock Pale Harvest. Atmosphere was a bit flat. It's a big pub so needs decent crowd to create a buzz. The Sunday lunch grub was ok. Vegetables done well but meat average. Vegetarian nut roast was like a peanut riddled Frisbee. And ironically, as dry as a bone. Chefs, even if you're not vegetarian, try your cooking before you put it on the menu.

Ambos se veían tan abiertos cuando llegaron. La tempura crujiente se sirvió con una simple pero deliciosa salald de zanahoria y semillas de cebolla y humus de tahini. El ketchup de champiñones, los brotes crujientes de parmesano y los guisantes acompañaron el arancini de champiñones y ajo silvestre.Mi plato principal de polenta de remolacha, albóndigas de ajo y albahaca ahumadas y patatas fritas de zanahoria y chirivía parecía casi bueno para comer y el tamaño de la porción también era el correcto. El otro plato estaba igualmente bien presentado: un trío de coliflor con pesto de albahaca y camote. No solo se veían bien, sino que sabían aún mejor. Había una maravillosa mezcla de sabores, texturas y olores.Para el postre pedimos la panna cotta de mango con merengues de coco, gel de lima y sorbete y pudín de banoffee con plátanos glaseados y helado de vainilla¿Qué puedo decir? Ambos eran tan deliciosos. Nunca antes había comido panna cotta y la textura era muy ligera. El pudín pegajoso era bastante pegajoso pero no pesadoNo sabrías que ninguno de los platos estaba libre de carne, simplemente eran encantadores. Tanto en apariencia como en gusto, podrían darles una oportunidad a los restaurantes de primera clase. Pero en precio eran una ganga absoluta. Menos de 40 para nosotros dos. Ahora que realmente es una gran noche fuera si eres vegano o no

Very rarely is it this easy to eat out with my little boy who has a dairy allergy. Trying to work out what foods are safe on menus is a nightmare. Not here, they "get it" this was so super easy. We will be visiting again.

Estábamos esperando la toma habitual en la comida vegana de pub, pero no podría haber sido más malo. Fue la mejor comida vegana que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Se había pensado mucho en ello y los ingredientes estaban frescos. Aquí no hay microondas. Ojalá lo hubiéramos intentado antes. Esta fue nuestra primera visita en mucho tiempo, pero ciertamente no será la última. Muy amable y los perros recibieron golosinas también. ¡Muy recomendado!
