I work at the chip shop nice food

Arrived 3 minutes after closing time, knocked hopefully on the window, asking hopefully for a bag of chips. They unlocked, and I left soon after with chips, sausage and curry sauce! Very kind and lovely food!

Chip shop was very dirty inside, as someone who has worked in the food industry, I was horrified. Chips themselves were unpleasant Cod was soggy, and batter was very greasy Immediately had to go to the toilet after consumption- my stools were liquid. Extremely grim experience, I will not be returning

Food excellent as always and was delayed to the previous driver being a collision. So thankful to hear they wasn't hurt! It's our favourite chippy and will definitely use again.

The fish & the peas were delicious. The chips not great as they seem to consist of wedge shaped pieces from the end of the potato instead of being lengthwise .

The delivery experience was really phenomenal. I have ordered from them once at a different address and the person who delivered was also amazing! One thing I will say about delivery it can really make or break the experience of ordering in a takeaway? Rectory Seems to do the entire process good service from start to finish. The cod was absolutely phenomenal this time round it was fresh and extremely crispy without being too greasy or oily, The portion of cod as well as the chips were really large, but not too large where you feel like you will have food waste :) Keep up the great teamwork guys and great customer service 👍

Ordered a fish with medium chips and a mixed meat and chips. First the fish. It was about the size of a great white and I can’t remember the last time I had a fish with batter was this good! The fish itself was also quite nice. The mixed meat and chips was a very generous portion and tasty. Salad tasted fresh and the sauces were on point. Both dishes very good value for money.

Great friendly staff with a very fast delivery service, would recommend the Donner kebab cooked to perfection and must say it's the best kebab I wouldn't want to go anywhere else for a kebab if I had the choice this would be my first option and only option. As well the chicken nuggets are phenomenal you can forget McDonald's or anywhere else these have the most flavor and a great crunch with every single nugget they're the best nuggets I have tried. Highly recommend this place to anyone who loves a bit of good food fast delivery service and friendly staff.

I’ve ordered from them a few times now and the food is absolutely delicious. I usually have cod and chips (large) and can honestly say the fish is one of the best I’ve eaten. White and flaky. Always a nice treat.

Regular customer, usually collect but quality was as high as always, chicken kebab on naan is the best I’ve ever had, get it everytime 5*

Fish was dry and overcooked mushy peas were cold but everything else was okay just disappointing when you spend £35

Almost warm. Used to order fairly often and was fairly good. Maybe they prioritise new customers. Last order about 3 months ago. Was a bit rubbish and tried them for the last time tonight. Wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great. If you like chunky meat this is the place to go.

Easily the best chippy in West Bridgford. First time order got the Donner meat and Chips and the portion was massive! Could easily feed two people. Food was very tasty and warm. Will be coming back!

did not matter it was early the food was piping hot considering the journey to us prefer my chips a tad thinner never the less we really enjoyed them

Looked like meal was freshly cooked, it was still hot not just warm. Delivery was quick . Only criticism would be that the app did not update me of the progress of the order. It was still showing that they had just received my order when they actually knocked on my door. There was no out for delivery notification.

I was so disappointing that my kebab had red cabbage on it so I couldn't eat it and it looked really nice unfortunately with red cabbage on it and I'm allergic to red cabbage I would have had a reaction from it so it it went to the bin I'm so sorry to leave this as I always give you 100% but I only give you today 50% I couldn't even find the chips I was disappointed sorry

Bit of a miss this time. The large fish was embarrassingly small, especially considering the price, and the salad pitta only had the equivalent of 1/2 a small microwave bowl of salad in it. Such a pity.

First time trying Rectory Fish Bar. The batter on the sausage was great, and I would imagine all battered items would be good. The homemade fishcakes are very dense and taste of nothing but flour. We were excited when we first saw them as they are big and the batter was lovely, but the centre is dry and difficult to eat. The chips were really greasy and undercooked. We saved some of them by cooking them in our air fryer, but 25% had paper or cardboard stuck to them so were inedible.

Tuvimos un buen filete y pastel de cerveza con un poco de salsa en la parte superior que era DELICIOSO. Sumergir unas patatas fritas saladas en esa salsa suave. Cena perfecta hecha para REYES Y REINAS. El único inconveniente era que la cerveza era bastante fuerte.

Delivered on time,food was hot but we were missing the drink for the kids meal. Chips, fishcake and fish were really overdone / hard. Shame not usually like this

ordered and was told delivery would be between 7&720. arrived about 650 which was great. Depsite poor weather the deluvery lady was very chirpy and polite.Fast delivery and all food piping hot. The small fish was perfect Suze and was cooked to perfection. Chips lovely as was the burger. Best chip shop in west bridgford. We won't go anywhere else. Thank you!

Excellent chip shop; initially we came here as our local one kept changing their gluten free days and left us desperate one night. These days Rectory Fish Bar offer GF every day apparently! We walk from four miles away for their fish & chips, and I believe we'd do this even without our family member's coeliac requirements as they are worth it. Always served fresh & staff very helpful. Food tonight really was exceptional – perfectly fried & piping hot. We're very grateful to have them in/near Nottingham.

Service was ok, food was ok. Had cod and chips. Fish was ok, same for chips but I think whatever they fry the food in taints it. I'm not kicking the place to bits, the food was edible. To be honest, good for belly fill if you are really hungry, but have had better. Probably not go there again.

Omg the nicest fish and chips place. The lady there was so lovely and they give scraps if you ask. Also gave us a kids meal for an adult she really understood the assignment 😩

Comida muy decepcionante, buen servicio, no es un mal precio teniendo en cuenta haber pedido un pescado grande. Sin embargo es la primera vez que he tenido, (tengo más de 60 años ) , un pescado picado rebozado con la piel puesta, no un sabor agradable en absoluto. Las patatas fritas, aunque demasiado grandes, estaban muy bien cocinadas, pero estaban llenas de "ojos" probablemente solo tenían 8 patatas fritas sin ninguna. Gravy muy bueno, sin embargo, no volvería por pescado.

The best fish and chip shop in West Bridgford, where there is a lot of strong competition. The chips are chunky and sooo tasty. The fish is freshly cooked to order and brings back memories of eating fish and chips at the seaside. The staff are friendly, polite and efficient. The best customer service I've received from a takeaway. The 6" pizza is delicious too.

Would just like to say what a quality takeaway this is. Ordered through UberEats and when the order came, they had realised that they had missed off a can of coke. Within half an hour they had returned with the can of coke, along with a portion of fish and chips to say sorry for the mistake. The fish and chips were just as good as the rest of the food.
