Great fish and chips. Cooked freshly as I waited and they were delicious.

The lads are top class in there. The cod and chips were cooked fresh and so tasty. They gave my daughter a free giant cookie too which was very sweet. Will definitely be back. Thanks lads you're diamonds

Never used this chippy before, gluten free so rang and asked questions ,guy very pleasant on taking my order, food was well marked out gluten free, great service thank you. Must of been good i Only just eaten lol and wrote review

First the order was wrong and chips were Very very dry, fair enough my mrs who made the order, rang to say there was no chicken kebab meat as we ordered a tray of mixed meat. Fair play you sent another order out which the kebab meat was again inside a pitta with salad (didn’t order nor ask for pitta or salad) and was disappointing in the quality of the kebab. & once again the chips that were sent as a ‘fresh replacement’ were very very dry and disappointing and get better out of my own airfryer. George’s and The Wolds serve far better quality. Sorry but I think 3* was generous but you did send a replacement order even if it wasn’t great. The old owners chips at this place- which is why I ordered from here in the first place- would’ve put yours to shame and a lot better chippies around.

Hello, I am here to discuss my previous complaint in more detail. Last Friday me and my flatmate ordered food. We double checked that all information was put in correctly, which it was and we have screenshots of. At the correct time my flatmate stood outside to see where the food was, we waited for a while and then when no phone was rang, we came back in assuming we’d have to wait longer for preparation. When we eventually called we were told the following, that the food had arrived and we’d put in the wrong street, not possible it said the correct street, we live in a square complex on that street and were waiting outside the complex, there is no other house with that number on the street, so it is only possible to be on the same part of the street as ours. We also have screenshots that no phone calls came through what so ever despite double checking the right number had been put in. There is obviously a fault with a system there or some miscommunication as both don’t feel at fault. When we were rejected a refund even when taking it up with food hub we were disheartened by the services as we genuinely felt no error on our part, or in reflection yours. My flatmate felt disheartened by the manner the call was handled, with laughing and a slight patronising tone. We are aware it was late and you were shutting down for the night but being left with no food despite again not receiving any calls with the correct numbers and information input as well as a rejection of £28 refund when both of us are students was frustrating as you can imagine. I was disappointed with how the situation was handled. Thank you

I orderd a mixed kebab the meat looked like a handful of leftover scraps filled out with a ridiculous amount of salad. This is the second time this has happend. you have lost a valued loyal customer what a disapoint.

This was my first time ordering at a chippy. I’m from the USA and Sharley was so sweet helping me and recommending items to me. I will definitely return to get take out here again.

This was my third or fourth time coming in one staff member are on the influence of drink or drugs as other staff members just laugh and think its funny if I see it again I will speak to someone at the local authority because it is illegal to work under the influence of drink or drugs.

We absolutely love your food and is why we keep coming back to you. We appreciate our address isn't your side of the river, and the flooding from the bad weather has made deliveries hard work. But want to reach out that we appreciate your efforts to deliver. Your food is always hot and plentiful, the staff who deliver are always genuine and nice people.

Faultless. Living a few doors from a decent chip shop I’d rather order from here. The food is still hot when it arrives, cooked fresh it’s definitely my go to!

Great on Christmas Eve so went back on 27th. Disappointed that they didn't mark the gluten free option fish and when we called to question the onus was on us to know which fish they had packed separately. Just buy a marker pen and use it please.

Had chips here a few times whilst passing. The chips are well made and there is a good selection of chips with what you want. I've only had the chips. I did like the little basket of unusual spices to waff onto your chips not just salt and vinegar. The staff were great as well, the food was cooked well, my friends loved it. We lent on a narrow shelf to eat our chips then wandered down the road. A busy chip shop for the delivery guys picking up orders, I suppose people do this nowadays. Parking is on the road but, you might struggle to get right outside at times. Expect Westbridgford prices, but still affordable enjoyable meals here. The staff will come out and serve you if you struggle to get in, that's very kind and thoughtful, bit of a step.

Really pleased I discovered this place today. Ordered a to good to go. Best chips I've ever had. All the food was good but they've really nailed the chips and the lady who served me was a delight. Deffo going back.

Absolutely love this place. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food is delicious and great value. Never seen so many things on a chip shop menu,spoilt for choice. Try it and see for yourself. If you do you won't be disappointed

We have a coeliac family member of our family, and this chippy has a great range of gluten-free items and chips. Even the vinegar! The staff are very helpful and always willing to advise.

Decided to go for fish and chips, and thought I’d try somewhere different to my usual chippy. Sounds daft but they tasted really healthy, they weren’t swimming in grease and the fish batter was really tasty with a good crisp bite. The fish itself was really firm and meaty and tasted like a really good piece of fish. The chips were really tasty and you could tell they were not made from old potato’s. They were firm on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. The staff were friendly and polite, and the food was very reasonably priced, especially when the quality was so good. Definitely my new chippy when I fancy a treat

Changed a lot since I last went here. Didn't realise they do delivery Fish was fresh ans tasty but a bit pricey at £8.50 ,chips nice and plentiful, only criticism would be the batter, chewy and not cooked inside. If they get batter light and crispy will be excellent

Very friendly staff but the food is not great. Very watery mushy peas (tinned are better than this), chips are cut too thickly so not cooked properly or crispy. Fish was ok, but lady bay fish bar is better.

4 of us had 2 battered sausages, 2 haddock, pineapple fritter, curry sauce, mushy peas and chips of course. The fish was delicious and the batter was light and crunchy, perfect. Sausages went down very well as did the fritter and the rest of the meal. Nothing left after satisfying us and 2 hungry kids.

Had the pleasure of visiting this evening Really friendly welcome from New owner (who is really making an effort to breathe some new life into the place and it does show ) ordered the fish which was cooked to perfection for me with some side salad which was nice and fresh .prce is very resonble too esp with the quality of ingredients..... I would highly recommend you try this place you really won't be disappointed

Donner Kebab! Meat was thick cut and tasty! Salad was fresh (would like to see red cabbage in the salad next time) The naan was crispy on the outside and doughy inside, yum! Only moan is that the meat wasn’t very hot. Good value for money. Will use again and would recommend to others. Filled our bellies nicely thank you.

This place is the NUTTS! I’ve been coming here years. We did the “chip shop challenge” with cub scouts a while back and this place won hands down vs. other local chippies. Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed 😋👏🏻

I went to this chippy for the first time today, and I was met with good customer service from the staff. They was very friendly and polite. I ordered a chicken burger and chips and I would recommend it. I would also like to add, an elderly lady had come into the chippy, placed her order and when it was time for her to go. One of the staff had helped her out the shop and also supported her in crossing the road, which I thought was very kind and thoughtful.

The first time I came here was the other day with my son and mother. All I can say about the kebab is WOW! The chicken is seasoned to absolute perfection and they are certainly not stingy with the meat! Best kebab I have had by far! My little boy had cheesy chips, again the portion size was huge! My mum had fish and chips with curry sauce, she said it was gorgeous and would definitely return! All staff were chatty and welcoming … will definitely be returning!! Highly recommend the chicken kebab!!

Chips are rock hard and pale. Clearly raw. Phoned up at 9pm to tell them and they can't do anything about it as they close at 9 but apparently my chips aren't raw it's becasue the oil is fresh. No they are raw

Went in today as on holiday here, wow what a lucky find! Homemade fish cakes were amazing and the fish and chips first class! Young man serving was so helpful, wish we had fish and chip shops like this where we live! Would certainly recommend.

Just finished our order from Rectory, small fish, chicken nuggets, chips and a Pucca Pie, what can I say my pie was lovely the rest was average today to say the least. Batter was too hard, chips looked as though they were cooked in old oil as there was black specks all over them, chicken nuggets were just ok and it was barely warm very disappointing for £20

Yesterday I purchased 2 fish and chips. When I was eating my food I came across a flying daddy long legs and immediately stopped. I decided to call up and complain seeing as it cost me over £18. The person who I spoke to, I believe to be Andrea Cotton but they refused to give me their name. A quick google search and I came across a story by Thisisnottingham where someone had vandalised their chip shop and there is a picture of her and her husband stood in front of the shop looking disgruntled. When I informed Andrea about the insect in my food she immediately became very defensive. She tried to brush it off like it was nothing saying things like”it’s only nature”. She offered me more food but I couldn’t eat now due to feeling sick so I asked for a refund. Andrea informed me that they don’t give refunds so I asked her name and she refused. Then I asked to speak to the manager and she told me she was the manager. I wasn’t getting anywhere with her so I told her I’d write a poor review which she replied “I’ll just get it taken down” and then she hung up on me. When I called back I spoke with a male who said his name was Kirk? He accused me of possibly planting the insect in my own food which I couldn’t believe and seemed very unconcerned. I was trying to get a refund for only one of the meals which would have amounted to probably £8-£9 so his theory of me planting the insect in my own food was ridiculous. After this whole incident I’m more angry about the way I was spoke to than the insect in my food.

Amazing place. The fish and chips is good. The price matches the amount of food you get. Very polite and attentive to customer. They are not pushy when selling but they do cater for individuals very well. Normal portion is too big for me as I tried it on first time. They have something on the menu that is just the right size for me. Even though is out of the hours he is happy to sell that to me. The place looks clean and I have never had issues parking right at front of the shop. Customers that have come in were very friendly with staff. They look like the regulars and you felt in good hands. Soon enough they do remember your face. It's my new fish and chippy now. Thank you guys...

Food ok. Shabby service. Not good enough.

Just had a small lunch from there - the food was good, but what made it excellent was the standard of service. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and polite to me, but what was excellent was the way he served the lady after me; she was deaf and had her blind son with her. He worked out exactly what she wanted (and it wasn't just the order, but the way it was served up) in a calm, polite, but non-patronizing way. Top marks!

Without a doubt the BEST chip shop in West Bridgford!! Big chips soft not greasy and non of those little crunchy bits like that posh chippy on Melton road throw far too many in with their greasy chips.

This is a great fish and chip shop. The staff are lovely, will cook what you want and the food is delicious. I've always been in to order so can't comment on delivery but in my opinion the quality is better than George's round the corner!

We ordered a very big order from rectory fish bar for tollerton park to celebrate VE Day, it was fantastic, all cooked perfectly, piping hot and delivered on time would recommend this place fantastic,😁😁😁👍👍👍

This was utterly appalling from the moment the order as placed. Ordered well before 7pm, website said 25 minutes for delivery, food ordered, immediately rose to 1 hour delivery time, food not delivered until almost 9.40pm, almost 3 hour for fish and chips. Phoned to complain, phone was not being answered, it had been taken off the hook so the owner didn't have to deal with the angry customers whose food was hours late I can only surmise. When the delivery driver was asked why the food was so late, she said that the owner was refusing to stop taking orders despite having too many orders to deal with and almost every house she had been to had been really late and the customers were almost exclusively not happy. I would never order from here again as there was no redemption with the food, the order was wrong and the food was getting towards cold. I will be asking for a refund.

2 hours since ordering and still nothing delivered, try calling and it’s always engaged

Ordered via Just Eat. 2hrs late on expected delivery and 3 hrs from order, delivered cold and with no updates. The shop was not answering their phone and no response via the app. Yet to see a refund. Please manage the demand to meet what you can supply, as you clearly can’t keep up with demand from Just Eat. Normally very good F&C

I can't comment on the food quality as it never showed up. Order was placed and confirmed via Just eat but the delivery failed to show up after an hour of waiting and numerous unanswered calls I gave up hope, luckily managed to get a full refund through Just eat. Poor customer service, just answer the phone.

THE BEST FISH AND CHIP SHOP AROUND. The fish and chips were piping hot and fast delivery under 45 minutes of placeing the order. I would definitely recommend this shop 👍👍👍

Poor service and mediocre food... Ordered food at 8pm arrived 10pm was told 45 min wait. No apologies no care. Wolds fish bar and georges are the two respectable places that drive care and good food in the area. Maybe you should check out your competitor's standards. Simply copying the packaging style doesn't help, if the contents are not to the level. Management was great at covering the cracks with their words on the phone, just told me what I wanted to hear not that, i have messed up its a 2 hour wait.

Dont go there again. Leathery, overcooked and chewy fish. Dry chips. It used to be good but this year it has got from Ok to bad to worst. I think the fish was reheated although the middle aged lady said it was just cooked.
