Excellent food, excellent service, say no more

Had a nice Steak and Ale Pie with some gravy on top which was DELICIOUS. Dipped some chunky, salted chips in that smooth gravy. Perfect dinner made for KINGS AND QUEENS. Only down side was that the ale was quite strong.

Delivered on time,food was hot but we were missing the drink for the kids meal. Chips, fishcake and fish were really overdone / hard. Shame not usually like this

ordered and was told delivery would be between 7&720. arrived about 650 which was great. Depsite poor weather the deluvery lady was very chirpy and polite.Fast delivery and all food piping hot. The small fish was perfect Suze and was cooked to perfection. Chips lovely as was the burger. Best chip shop in west bridgford. We won't go anywhere else. Thank you!

Excellent chip shop; initially we came here as our local one kept changing their gluten free days and left us desperate one night. These days Rectory Fish Bar offer GF every day apparently! We walk from four miles away for their fish & chips, and I believe we'd do this even without our family member's coeliac requirements as they are worth it. Always served fresh & staff very helpful. Food tonight really was exceptional – perfectly fried & piping hot. We're very grateful to have them in/near Nottingham.

Service was ok, food was ok. Had cod and chips. Fish was ok, same for chips but I think whatever they fry the food in taints it. I'm not kicking the place to bits, the food was edible. To be honest, good for belly fill if you are really hungry, but have had better. Probably not go there again.

Omg the nicest fish and chips place. The lady there was so lovely and they give scraps if you ask. Also gave us a kids meal for an adult she really understood the assignment 😩

Fish was dry and chips were barely warm. Delivery took just under two hours from order time and was 15 mins outside of delivery window.

Very disappointing meal, good service, not a bad price considering having ordered a large fish. However it is the first time I have ever, (am over 60), had a chippy fish battered with the skin on, not a pleasant taste at all. Chips whilst over large were very nicely cooked but were full of "eye's" probably only had 8 chips without any. Gravy very good though, wouldn't go back for fish.

The best fish and chip shop in West Bridgford, where there is a lot of strong competition. The chips are chunky and sooo tasty. The fish is freshly cooked to order and brings back memories of eating fish and chips at the seaside. The staff are friendly, polite and efficient. The best customer service I've received from a takeaway. The 6" pizza is delicious too.

Would just like to say what a quality takeaway this is. Ordered through UberEats and when the order came, they had realised that they had missed off a can of coke. Within half an hour they had returned with the can of coke, along with a portion of fish and chips to say sorry for the mistake. The fish and chips were just as good as the rest of the food. Thank you.

Ordered through ubereats and delivery was really quick. Mixed kebab with fresh salad which was really nice and portion size was enormous

!!!..SORŔY !!??......The kebab I didn't even chance to eat it I had one piece and it was too hot I think you put some chillisauce on it ? but might be why l bin it waste of money except one more thing when you ask for something and it's not right then you always check it but sausage over cooked but 1 sausage undercooked so I bin it any part of that food I am with the chips very good everything can't eat I know there was chilly sauce on it because it was too hot and I' wish u can help !!. 😞

The food was late but the driver and the restaurant were very apologetic and gave me a refund for it. However, my bottle of coke was missing and I'm sad to say that the food, while nice enough, wasn't as good as I was expecting. However, it was still tasty and I appreciate the fuss they went too to get it to me.

The chips wasn't very nice well over done and the mushy peas were tasteless and very watery and I had a bad stomach for 2 days NEVER AGAIN

The food was lovely, chips were spot on and nice and different to other chip shops, they were proper chunky cut and tastes just like proper home cooked chips 🤤 doner meat was really nice and so was the chicken meat! could have done with a bit more sauce in the pots mind, but given the good was so nice, I didn't really care, tbh 🤷🏻‍♂️ lol. It wasn't just about how good the food was though. It was also about the service they provided.. I had to ring them up to rectify a mistake I made when placing the order and lady who answered the phone was really lovely and polite and sorted it out for me straight away but the best part was that they sent me the 2 pound difference back with the food from the mistake I made because I wanted a doner meat tray (£6) and not a doner kebab (£8). I just thought that was a really nice gesture. It was very much appreciated. Thank you 😊

The worst chips I’ve ever seen only if i could upload a pic asked a friend who used to work in a chippy and she said looking at them they was recook again not used this chip shop in years because of moving used to be good years ago

disappointing quality usually good. So much cucumber on kebab it was ridiculous. Had pile underneath meat counted over 20 slices, wonder wether to push chicken up so looked big? then even more cucumber on top! I like salad but wanted a chicken kebab with salad not a cucumber kebab with chicken. The quality was not good on any of the order, so not impressed on this occassion. The only positive was delivery, on time and friendly.

Another delicious meal delivered on time and obviously freshly cooked as still nice and hot! We both really enjoyed the food.

All Food was hot.The only thing right.....Had to throw everything away want my money back.Odered from them alot and everything OK. last night there was an after taste like chemical must be the frying fat. Everything that was fried had a really weird metallic after taste. .The cookie was under done and are in the middle.

My family and I traveled from Canada for the week and have tried several fish and chips in London and Nottingham, we were very lucky to finish our holiday with this fish and chips as it's the best we've had yet! The owner and employees were wonderful and made the experience even better and go England tomorrow!!

Very disappointed. Been ordering my chippy teas from here for years. Not sure what wrong today - order was wrong. Ordered peas, got curry sauce. Ordered plain sausage, got battered. Missing items. Worst thing was being alerted to the delivery not by a knock on the door but by the delivery girl shouting to the delivery driver in the street. Not good. Food was OK but not usual high quality.

Fish is always amazing and try the homemade fishcake too, you will not be disappointed

The best fish and chips in West Bridgford with prompt, efficient and friendly service from the young lad working there. The only downside is parking can be tricky when busy. It’s worth the food though!

The fish wasn't great, had alot of excess fat and the chips had the texture as they have been re fried. Shame because it has been perfect in the past. Delivery guy was really nice and polite though

We order from here anytime we fancy a chip shop, usually it’s really good quality and nice food. Today it’s not so great at all. The chips are stale you can tell they’ve been sat for a while.They are greasy to the point it’s all you can taste. The kebab meat is hard and the food overall was cold upon arrival.

Really good kebab and churros. Usually asking for sauce works ok but would prefer it to be on the menu as it wasnt included this time. Option to add pots of chilli sauce would be good

Just ordered a small fish from here and it had an overwhelming taste and scent of ammonia. Partnered had a full size fish, no issues with his. Naan bread is absolutely banging though!👌🏻

They was late delivering the food but that’s because there busy food got to us and it was as piping hot which was good food was amazing really enjoyed it delivery driver was polite and respectful and apologised for the delay would go back agin thank you

First the order was wrong and chips were Very very dry, fair enough my mrs who made the order, rang to say there was no chicken kebab meat as we ordered a tray of mixed meat. Fair play you sent another order out which the kebab meat was again inside a pitta with salad (didn’t order nor ask for pitta or salad) and was disappointing in the quality of the kebab. & once again the chips that were sent as a ‘fresh replacement’ were very very dry and disappointing and get better out of my own airfryer. George’s and The Wolds serve far better quality. Sorry but I think 3* was generous but you did send a replacement order even if it wasn’t great. The old owners chips at this place- which is why I ordered from here in the first place- would’ve put yours to shame and a lot better chippies around.
