Had the philly steak sandwich I've got to say it was the worst version of philly steak i've ever had. Unsure how it taste like bbq pulled pork, it was disgusting. The beer didn't taste great either maybe a line clean is required. Pitty we use to like this place. I doubt we will be returning. Staff excellent I have to say super fast service. Food and drink requires attention though.

I was the only person in there so ordered and had my breakfast to the table quickly. Everything was hot and so was the plate which was nice. There is nowhere to avoid the overbearingly upbeat and loud music. I ate and left quickly as a result. I was in and out of this place within 20 minutes. Shame there isn't a spot where you can actually sit and hear yourself think.

It was really busy but we bagged the sofa by the window, plonked ourselves down for a coffee feeling quite relaxed watching the friendly buzz of the place! Food looked great and staff were lovely! One member of staff, Shanise(??) was very friendly as we’d changed tables and she made us feel very welcome!

This is a short and sweet stop I had on Thursday 28/03/24 & I come in many times to have a drink or a bite to eat but because it’s the start of Easter weekend it was a bit busier than normal, naturally staff were lovely and efficient, but I’ve noticed something that warmed my heart today and that was one of the staff members, not sure of her name but she was blonde wearing a black hat, helping an elderly lady to the bathroom there and back & also getting her safely in a taxi, true meaning of going the extra mile!

Medium group of us and the food was acceptable. We had a small issue that was delt with straight away and we would go again. Nice to see a place that serves food is dog friendly

Super dog friendly with a big jar of dog treats, quick friendly service, delicious vegetarian food and non alcohol cocktails. The atmosphere is vibrant and fun. Really lovely restaurant and will be visiting again!

Phoned to book a table, was told they don't take bookings for small groups. The person queried the number of people, and asked a time, to which I replied and was told "no problem we will have space". Turned up today to be told "sorry, it's wait". They need a booking system for all party sizes.

It was heaving, at noon on a Saturday, however we only waited a couple of minutes for a table. The food, ordered via the app, came amazingly quickly and efficiently. The food was as good as ever. We loved it so much, we will return soon. 🤩

Sadly having to change my review from 5 star to 2. Have been a few times in past few months and every occasion there has been something not up to scratch. Our last visit last night..not a single item was even good. Haloumi fries arrived in 4 minutes of ordering ..lukewarm and limp..obviously microwaved and not fresh.sent them back and asked for fresh. Hot chocolate was lukewarm, sent back..arrived hot and now bitter. Churros were pale and when checked inside raw..sent back and asked for money back..as by this time fed up. The new Haloumi fries arrived and were actually the only thing finally eatable. Although staff were helpful and took on board our complaints poliety..have now lost faith in what was once our favourite place in Bridgford. Won't be going back.

Firm favourite, keep going back. Anywhere that does a pancake brunch at all times of day gets my vote.

Family friendly and good service with a nice atmosphere. Little bit expensive for what it is, but it's west bridgford so to be expected. I'd give it 4.5 if that was possible

We arrived just before 1pm. There was a wait for a table, but the staff were doing a fantastic job despite clearly being understaffed. Once we sat down, our food came very quickly - and was really good. Halloumi burger for me, all day veggie breakfast for hub. Big shout out to the manager who was doing a fantastic job, trying to juggle this busy restaurant with far too few staff. Thanks to all the staff. We will be back. ❤️

Relaxing place to eat with sofas as well as tables and chairs. Order food via app using QR code. Lots of vegetarian options. The tapas is really nice.

Lovely choice of food, great selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Staff were very accommodating and cheerful. Great atmosphere family friendly as well as calm. It is a nice choice to catch up with friends anytime of the day. The selection of drinks is great too.

Fantastic gluten free range on the menu and the buttermilk fried chicken was the absolute best I have had in decades would highly recommend!

Staff Christmas meal. Had gone to a lot of trouble to give us a nice table and space. Great food and great service!

Reasonably priced and tasty food. Had the tapas Tuesday with fries which was just right.

Service not very good, Group of 13 people, pre ordered food with peoples names and they still got meals wrong. Had to go downstairs to order drinks because waiting staff said they didn't take drinks orders. Got a bad seat directly under a speaker so I couldn't hear what anyone was saying.

Felt compelled to write a review to say how fantastic our recent visit was to Portello Lounge. We attended a family get together on Saturday 18th November (West Bridgford light switch on) which made it extra busy than usual. The team were amazing to accommodate a table of 14 people, the service was gold standard and the food was tasty and served promptly. Special thanks to Shanice who ran the show and is a credit to your business!

Good atmosphere, great service, good food.

Good place to drop in for a spot of lunch with friends, which we did. The food was very good and washed down with a glass or two of nice beers. Very highly recommended.

Love this place, the chandelier are class, the food is amazing and the waiters are really kind, I don't know the waiters name but I had ordered the curry but the wrong order came out and he rectified it immediately and was really kind about it (14/10/2023)

It is one of the few places that has a decent Gluten free menu. The staff were lovely. Food was gorgeous. If I have one criticism the music was a little loud. Not too loud but everyone had to talk louder. Didn't really notice until we got outside though.

I had read some good reviews about this place being a dog-friendly restaurant, so we decided to bring our dogs for a quick drink. I have 2 small Yorkies, and they each have their own anxiety issues. They sat and slept calmly on my lap, and I made sure they weren’t on the sofa. As a dog owner, I am fully aware that they are not allowed on the sofa. A tall male staff member with a black T-shirt (think his name is Toms) approached us twice and said that dogs weren’t allowed on the table, even on our laps, in an inappropriate manner. We felt really uncomfortable and unwelcome. So, I spoke to the manager on duty, and she confirmed that having the dogs on our laps was fine. But why did the same male staff member come up to us twice in such an inappropriate manner, told us even though having them on our laps was not allowed? I’ve been to many dog-friendly cafes and restaurants and have never been treated this way. I’ve even been to their sister restaurant in Beeston, they don’t have such a strict policy. This place claims to be dog-friendly, but unfortunately, the staff aren’t.

Really nice place for a quiet drink or food

Great bar in the middle of West Bridgeford with a good varied menu. We shared tapas and though they were very good, I would like to have seen more options, like chicken skewers. A very modern but quirky place with old framed pictures everywhere. Service is always quick and with a friendly face. Friends recommended the fish finger sandwich and buttermilk chicken.

The 4 of us visited today ( our first time dining here). My mum didn't get the pickled red onion with her mezze grain bowl even though it's listed in the dishes blurb. Service was incredibly poor and lackluster especially to say the atmosphere was dead with very few customers. We asked the male member of staff with long tied back hair for some garlic Mayonnaise as an extra to our meal, he forgot it instantly and didn't bring it until he was reminded 15 minutes later. A brownie was ordered as a pudding for my sister ( they are cold so can be sliced and served immediately) this took 20 minutes to arrive and the ice cream topping had melted. It was an incredibly hot day today and although this place appears to have air- con units fitted to the ceiling they were not switched on and don't work as they'd been painted over. The tables and chairs are very old and the whole establishment needs overhauling as it appears 'tired'. Staff were running around aimlessly giving a messy and disorganized vibe isn't at all relaxing for the customers visit. This was out first visit and it's certainly our last! Not impressed.

Had an amazing breakfast this morning. It was served quickly and most importantly hot and fresh.

Came here twice before leaving a review…the place is friendly and the service using the app is quick & easy however they messed up my wife’s order twice (she ordered a burger and removed items and added brisket which they didn’t do) we asked for it to be changed which happened but then the next one was still wrong and had peppers on despite asking on the app for no peppers. My other gripe was the children’s menu, the children’s puddings were the same price so we ordered 1X brownie and 1X ice cream and when it arrived the brownie came with ice cream and chocolate sauce, the ice cream was literally one scoop with nothing else for the same price. How does that work?

Second time at Portello Lounge. It has a very relaxed atmosphere. Three of us went for dinner on a Saturday. The service was quick, and everyone was polite. The food was very tasty, and the portion sizes were great! We all had different starters, mains, and puddings. No complaints about anything. Will be back!

Great place for lunch, food good and staff friendly

Ate here on granddaughter birthday and had her recommended Lounge Bacon Cheeseburger. Pass that recommendation to you dear reader. Bar restaurant had good choices of food and drink at reasonable prices. Limited outside area for those sunny days and evenings. Service quick and very friendly.

Good food, cater to vegans and GF. However, full of parents with you g children. A little chaotic.

Good pub grub, service is interchangeable from decent when quiet to awful when partially full (sorry but the staff simply cannot keep with any more than three tables).

Lovely location, with good brunch options, and lots of gluten free choices too. The GF shakshuka was really good, alongside a nice ice coffee.

Great atmosphere especially the outdoor seating. Quick and friendly service. Easy to order food from the table. Good vegetarian options. Nice presentation of the food and good taste. Had to ask a couple of times for the previous customers’ used glasses to be taken away. At least one of the breakfast was cold.

A lovely place we visit sometimes. We like the chain of restaurants and although one food item never turned up, the staff were really gracious and apologetic about it.

Over priced below average food and below average drinks. Why is the butter milk chicken with BBQ curry powder coated? Absolutely vile and the soggiest garlic bread ever. Just avoid save your money. Also you guys need to do some dusting cobwebs all over the light fixtures.

Usually service and food is good! Today not so, 2 out of 3 meals turned up barely warm and one of the accompaniments for 2 of the meals turned up cold halfway through our meal. We spoke to the server about this and she wasn't remotely bothered. Not sure if we will return. This brand used to be soooo good!!! 😬

I didn't really went to eat/drink however i have been here before, and have no complaints regarding that, and food is decent and has good service. I went for what is hidden for an interview/ Trial for a chef position chef de partie. Thus is a place that does very well customers wise and the machine behind this are the chefs and foh. I was disappointed, the changing room was almost non existing barely able to move in there and not enough places to hang clothes etc. I literally had no interview as such mainly was a trial, but in my view a trial is about proving skills and in all honesty only a few minutes are needed for this ie 15-20 mins, i actually done over an hour, of free work ( which I don't mind as i am showcasing my abilities which i am confident with ) When after i was told pay on offer was thought to be £10.50 from Apr and as we know £10.42 is minimum pay, so the offer is virtually minimum pay. Shows how much nowadays managers or above don't value the work we do as to price it so low when we are the lifeline of restaurants. And think, the positions are kitchen assistant, commis chef and then Chef de partie . Skills going up the you higher in rank, but this wages offer means they think all of these positions are worth the same. Is disappointing and unacceptable.. i asked for the minimum i feel i am worth £11.50. To be told Straight away, the company could not do this( head of lounge) and best of luck in my job hunting.... Very sad as i know what i could have contributed to this company and i started to gel with staff. Chef work is hard and dangerous as having to work under pressure in a multi dangerous environment where you can get cut, burnt etc ... And overall there's a lack of appreciation, for a skilled job with lots of responsibilities, as to allergies avoidance, cooking foods properly to avoid food poisoning, aware and avoid cross contamination and so on.

We have been here twice and also to the other franchise in Nottingham. Service is always very good, food also very good and dogs are welcome! Our dog is always comfy when she goes there and we would recommend to anyone. Circa £70 for 4 for food and drinks

First time here, good spacious set up & friendly welcome upon entering, also checking if we had any food allergies etc. Once u've chosen your table, make your selection, then head to the bar to place your order & wait. Didn't take long for our drinks to arrive & soon after the food arrived, boy it looked good. We all agreed it was delicious & thoroughly enjoyable, certainly worth a visit if you're in the area & a decent size car park just around the corner, less than 100 yards away. All in all a very enjoyable time was had & decent value for money to boot.

Great offer on tapas on a Tuesday night, and a huge selection of gluten-free options. Nice atmosphere too with lots of folks in on a Tues.

Only went in for coffee and to meet an old friend. Nice atmosphere and dog friendly. Couldn't really have much of a chat though as the music was too loud. Seemed popular with young mums.

We scanned the QR code and it was easy to use. Food and drink were served quickly. Tapas are good for sharing as we can try various dishes. Cheddar & Sweetcorn Fritters are sweet and sour which is appetising. Last but not least, I was surprised by the watermelon ice tea. I thought it would be very sweet, but it tasted so fresh and reminded me of a childhood memory - Jelly... I enjoyed it very much. I will definitely choose the same drink when I return to this restaurant.

I visited Portello Lounge a few years ago for food (as a teen) with family, and I was very impressed by the food and service back then. A few years later, we thought we would go again when I was visiting but this time for cocktails (now that I am that age 😉). Coming from a small town, I was amazed by 1. The Variety of cocktails they had and 2. The Prices (so much cheaper than what I am used to). Even though it was very busy on a Saturday Night (and after the Nott Forest/Man City game) service was very quick and staff were extremely friendly. I had three cocktails in the end, and they were all delicious. The restaurant and bar is really spacious, and the decor is really cool/retro (really up my street). I will definitely be coming back when visiting Nottingham again.

Working in the area for a few weeks so dropped in on a Sunday early evening, wasn't disappointed, nice,clean and good food. Very pleased

What a fantastic place! Child and dog friendly, great food, reasonable prices, warm decor and brilliantly helpful staff. Absolute love going here.
