This is my local pub and has been for some years now. Staff are always really friendly. Food great. Wide range of cask ales, always served in great condition.

Went there for my nieces christening the staff catered for everyone's needs the food was perfect for the occasion and I would highly recommend this establishment for any functions or even a casual night out

Went yesterday for the comedy night, it was excellent and a really nice environment. Couldn’t fault the entertainment! The lady behind the bar Sam who served me was also lovely and was great helping me pick out of the selection of gins they had. Will definitely be going back.

I booked for my Mum 70th birthday. We were greeted by a wonderful lady, who promptly took our drinks order and checked that we were happy with our reserved table. Being a Monday it was quiet, but all the staff kept busy and were engaged and enthusiastic. Food arrived promptly and was lovely. We were a table of 5 and all of us cleaned our plates. Atmosphere was chilled and happy. We had a lovely afternoon and will definitely be back

Pubs website still lists opening hours from 11am to 12pm so turned up in taxi today at 11am only to find a printed note on the door informing me that the pub now opened at 11.30! Sounds trivial? I suffer with severe Emphysema and to be left outside a pub pub on a bitterly cold day could be fatal! Ok,I I this is a brewery decision but, for heavens sake keep your website up to date!! People actually do rely on its information! I have a suspicion that the new opening hours were sprung on pubs at less than a moment’s notice but whatever and wherever someone needs to pay less attention to profit ratios and more attention to the people who pay their wages ie, your customers! Thank you DG Cars for so promptly realising my distress and thereby averting a very serious consequence.

Went for lunch at Christmas. Food was plentiful, to put it mildly, well cooked, tasty and well presented . Service was very friendly and efficient. Drinks very reasonbly priced. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Thank you.

Food is pretty good, staff are friendly and the pub is cosy. However....the service is very disorganised. Even having pre-ordered food, they lost part of the order, then food took almost 2 hrs to arrive!!! We have heard of others bailing after food took over an hour to arrive. This is a real shame as the food is pretty good, a bit better than average basic pub grub. It seems to be a result of disorganised staff and maybe a chaotic kitchen? To boot there was no apology for the massive delay and incorrect orders. Hopefully awareness that this is a serious problem, already losing the business customers and money, will encourage the management to put in place a better system. Sadly, we won't be coming back again untill this happens.

Had a very pleasant evening with friends here, Friday 1st December to celebrate my wife's 70th bday. The food was excellent and hit the spot instantly on a very cold night. Zoe, Sam and all the staff were absolutely first class and very accommodating. The Tim Taylor Landlord is extremely well kept but they do need to up the stock control level, given it always sells out on a friday. Great pub, and totally vindicated our choice of venue for this occasion, and future celebrations. Many thanks. Andrew Davys.

What an absolute gem this pub is. I met a friend in there that I hadn't seen for a while. We had a lovely meal at a great price. We both agreed how wonderful the genuinely helpful lady serving us was. A first class experience....

Good general pub, food is your average pub grub…what we like is the family friendly garden to keep the kids entertained….Prices are good on both drinks and food, which you kind of expect with large pub chains.

This is a dog friendly place the food was excellent and the atmosphere is very good they have a pool table in here the staff are very friendly you can have a chat with them would recommend coming here

Portions little on the small side but cooked nicely. Nice atmosphere. Just the smokers outside the door but the staff do try to move them. Not very many offers for dairyfree on puddings ice cream with clotted cream in it! Yuk

Went for granddaughters birthday food was good eat there at least twice a month

Had lunch today on the seniors menu. Very good value especially when choosing the 2 or 3 course offer. Small plates just enough for small appetites. Hunter's chicken, salad and chips and scampi, chips and peas followed by apple crumble and ice cream or cream tasty. Staff friendly and wecoming.

Open 11am so I took a taxi up to the Covert arriving at 11.3 am only to find it was closed! 71 years old and suffering with severe Emphysema left outside the pub with nowhere to sit or rest not the best of starts! Pub eventually opened at 11.16 am. Inexplicably a “regular”, who entered after me, served immediately! But the the barmaid assured me she’d be “with you in a minute”. Then went away! Returned 4 minutes later and, hey! I got my drink. A beautifully kept bar, beautifully kept tables, chairs and delightful decoration but a distinct lack of personnel behind the bar! I twice approached for service and then gave up! In fairness, this is a beautifully kept pub and I’m sure, in the evenings, the service is second to none but us old early morning codgers deserve some respect! Our money is just as good anyone else’s. And our influence is probably far greater!

Chef rolling his eyes at customer's and walking out to the restaurant shaking his head at customers ordering at 825pm even though it states last food orders at 9pm. Somebody must have wanted an early finish. Food wasn't exactly great. But bar staff were lovely.

Lovely well run pub. Nice pleasant staff. Good Sunday lunch atmosphere. Dogs are welcome in the bar area. We had the steaks reasonably priced. Well presented and tasted delicious.

I used to be a regular at this pub back in the nineties but time, tide, circumstances and landlords change so my first visit to this refurbished inn for many years. Not so sure about the scratched look floor and whoever thought that painting the old wooden exit doors in a shade of battleship grey should be ashamed of themselves! But, minor quibbles aside the overall effect of the pub is one of air and space. The relaxing, floral enhanced bay window area a pure delight! A delightful beer garden which is actually a garden; manicured lawn, hedges and flower-beds; not a few tables and umbrellas on paving slabs so very often passed off as such. The usual Green King range of beers but supplemented by some guest ales. A superbly kept pint of Timothy Taylor Landlord! Very reasonably price wholesome food but with attention to vegetarian and vegan diets. I cannot tress how important this is in this modern day of enlightenment!! Delightfully jovial and welcoming landlady ( Sonia?) and a very attentive, courteous staff!! A true Brest of fresh air! Support!!

Visited for lunch. Tried to use a Groupon voucher, unfortunately the staff had no knowledge/training of it, the tills were set up incorrectly for it & they tried to charge additional amounts to what was already paid. Asked them to try & get information from managers. Jan/Michael really rude multiple times, twice came & sat with us while we were eating to explain we were wrong and it was just £x off, after paying £x for it. A grand saving of 0p - that would not be an offer. Also shouted across the pub to say that we were wrong & needed to pay more - totally embarrassing for us, we had already paid for our lunch. At end of meal, they claimed to have sorted it, but still no apology for aĺl their rudeness & incorrect use of this voucher. Tried to sort with Greene King customer service, still no apology. If you want to be accused of not paying enough, when you've already paid, this is the place to visit. Forget Karen's Diner, Jan/Michael must base their customer service skills on there

Went with friends for lunch. The food was excellent, hot and perfectly cooked. Staff were very pleasant and most helpful. All in all a fabulous day out. Look forward to seeing you again soon.

We ate here for a family birthday meal because I read that the pub was very welcoming to dogs. That was certainly true and they made the 8 humans and one canine feel most welcome. The two staff we saw were attentive and helped us to order gluten free and dairy free food for our children, the chef was able to flex to our needs and we all had good food. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

I visited with my husband and young daughter early January and we had a pleasant experience from start to finish. The salt beef burger was absolutely delicious! The staff made a fuss of the baby and we all left happy. A hidden treasure.

Superb pub, with great staff who love to provide great beer and give a terrific welcome to dogs. When they say we love dogs they are not joking, even when 6 dogs arrive all at once accompanied by a group of 9 slightly mucky walkers, all in need of a drink. We had a lovely Christmas dinner here - it was very festive and the food was delicious!

Xmas lunch was one of the best I've ever eaten, the turkey cut like butter and melted in your mouth. Extremely generous portion sizes on all three courses. Three of us had the chocolate brownie Xmas pudding, wasn't sure what to expect but it was delicious A lovely atmosphere, very friendly and efficient staff. We will definitely be going back again and couldn't believe what a fabulous meal we'd had for the price

Tidy, reasonable prices, Guinness fine

Our group of mature gentlemen has been visiting the Meadow Covert for our monthly lunch for a number of years. The reason is that we like it there, and the staff seem to like us - but there's no accounting for taste. Our Christmas lunch attracted 15 souls, and while the Green King menu was not up to its usual Festive standard, the staff pulled out all the stops for us, and everybody had a wonderful time. Special mention must go to Louise and Jan, who handled our raucous lot with professionalism and great good humour. Sorry ladies, but we're coming back!

Went for a get together with friend's. The food was delicious couldnt fault it. I had fish and chips. Lovely chunky chips and really crispy battered fish.The staff were really friendly and very good service. Will definitely go again and recommend them to friends.

I would recommend this pub & restaurant which has good ambience and the food was extremely tasty and to Michelin standard. Thanks to the bar staff and Chefs making our stay pleasant.

Excellent food served by great staff.

I visited the Pub with members of our Real Ale Group, upon entering I was struck by how Fresh & Clean the pub felt. I had a Pint Of Green King IPA and it was the best I have ever had, the beer was very clear and had a great taste. I then ordered a Chicken & Ham Pie, with Mash and I really enjoyed it and can also confirm that all the other members were more than happy with the Beer and Food we had during our visit. I highly recommend this Pub as a great place to both eat and drink in

Fries and gamon undercooked. Enough to be safe but not enough to be nice!! The roast dinner was all frozen, the veg, roast potatoes, yorkshire puddings for definite, most probably the meat too. Such a shame as used to be a lot better. I never expected it to be amazing as its a green king chain pub but i expected it to be better than what we got!

Pleasant enough. Typical Greene King pub menu with nothing original really. Thursday night is very good value for steaks.
