The Meadow Covert in Rushcliffe

I have been coming to the meadow covert for many years. The food is always great. Perfect portions and always nice and hot. The service is exceptional and the staff are friendly 😊

We came Sunday lunchtime. 2 adults 2 kids, excellent service very friendly bartender. We ordered off the normal menu and it was lovely everybody finished their plate. We will be back to try Sunday lunch most definitely

Do not order the steak. Absolutely appalling steak. I ordered the sirloin and what arrived was the lowest quality of meat I have ever had the misfortune to come across. The cheapest steak in any supermarket would have been a tremendous improvement. It was cooked well done when it was ordered medium rare and it tasted off. I don’t know of this was due to all the gristle or if the meat was on the turn. It shouldn’t have been served and the server commented themselves on the amount of gristle as they collected the plates and the steak was left on the plate. Other than that, the other food was nice, the beer was good and a good selection and the staff and customers were friendly.

Food is usually spot on to be fair not had a bad meal and staff are pleasant it’s good value especially in quieter periods. I went for Sunday dinner and had to wait an hour for my food and with missus and the 4 kids it’s a long time to wait for food. Could do more to meet people with some kind of stand who have pre booked instead of just wandering in and not knowing what’s the crack especially when serving at the bar. Maybe could get some colouring books or crayons to help keep the kids quiet whilst we wait for the food

Came in with my sister at lunchtime ...the food was excellent..lovely friendly staff ...highly recommend.. used to be my sisters local many years,ago as we lived in Edwalton Village in the 1960s to 1990s ...she still lives in the village ..x

Called in last week to the Meadow cover’s with free friends we had a meal and drinks. The atmosphere was lovely behind the bar young lady called Amy was outstanding great personality. After mainly having the value lunchtime £7.49 offer, I tried the fish and chips and was hooked, that was until today, first time samplimg the Katsu Chicken Curry, inc full cut up breast, basmati and wild rice and chunky chips. Absolutely DELISH. Huge bowl of amazing homecooked food. Found my new go to. Well done, compliments to the friendly, welcoming staff kitchen staff.

Lovely "local" pub. Great cask ale selection which moves well, so tends to be really good (Harvest Pale, and Timmy Tailors Landlord appear regularly 👍). Food is good standard "pub grub" and very reasonable price £25 will get 2 meals and 2 beers. Very dog friendly, which is super important. Bar area with darts, pool etc, separate lounge area, and large beer garden outside. Parking out the front.

Lovely pub meal for the family with three adults and three kids. Order came beautifully cooked and as described. Drinks were nice and the children enjoyed their meals. Nice end to 2024 for the family who were visiting us from Norfolk. Meadow Covert we'll see you again soon

We went for a meal and to watch soccer on TV. Both the food and the service were excellent. The price was great value compared to other pubs in the area

Had lunch today, we decided to have the senier menu, we both had the fish and chips, jam rolley polly pudding, absolutely marvellous, cooked to perfection, excellent value, its now our local, looking forward to the Christmas menu, regards Brian Hart, keyworth.

For a chain pub I was rather surprised. The pint and burger deal is excellent value for money,good quality, nicely presented and very tasty. The fish and chips is also excellent value for money,light batter, and lovely white fish cooked to order and piping hot. The pub itself is very pleasant and clean the staff friendly and welcoming. All in all a nice place to have a decent good quality meal at a good value for money price.....

Took my daughter for lunch at the food was good quality in a nice atmosphere. Although this is a chain pub group this pub is ran fantastic and I would recommend to anyone who wants decent food and a few drinks.

The food was adequate the staff were excellent, the pub needed a refurbishment the toilets were discussing the pub let's there other establishment down.

Food was amazing and so was the atmosphere. With a pool table 😎 altho £1.50 a game unfortunately. Car park is small so having to park on the street but Will definitely be coming back more often

My partner Dave and I frequent the Meadow Covert on a weekend - we always get a lovely cold pint, friendly service and a lovely atmosphere. A lot of the staff even know us by name which is lovely. My partner is disabled and the staff will often pour us the drinks they know we want and bring them over. We look forward to returning regularly and especially for his 40th for which we have booked some tables next month.

A great place for family meals and meet ups. Our daughter had participated in the Robinhood half marathon and we came to cheer her on and decided to go for lunch at this establishment. Great dog friendly pub and this is our 3rd visit with our daughters dog and love coming here as the welcome is always a warm and welcoming one. The food was excellent and well presented and cooked to perfection. Great relaxed and enjoyable time in a lovely location. Will definitely be here again.

I came in to day for lunch with my 3yr old autistic son and he was not having a good time, I think there was too many people. I ordered our food and my son was having a melt down to the point I thought best to leave. I went to staff member (Lee) who was absolutely amazing. I asked Lee if he could put our food in a takeaway box as my son was having a bad day. Lee offered the other side of the restaurant for me and my son to sit in as it was quiet and no other customer was in there. I gave this a try and it helped tremendously 😁 I am so thankful for Lee’s amazing customer care and made what is quiet a stressful situation so much easier. Thankyou so so much I really appreciate you all ♥️ xx

On arrival good kerb appeal, warm welcome by barstaff and quick efficient service. Taking in a very pleasent atmosphere with good mixture of custom across the generations. Good beer garden and of course a varied selection of beers and great food. Would definately recommend.

I was waiting for food at this bar. I waited for an hour. The waiter was too busy to pay attention to me.

Oh, darling, let me regale you with the tale of the Meadow Covert pub, a veritable oasis in a desert of mediocrity. This quaint establishment has become my monthly pilgrimage, all thanks to their ever-changing, positively divine burgers. Each month, they conjure up a new creation that tastes like heaven itself has descended upon your taste buds. One bite and you’ll feel as though you’ve been whisked away to a paradise where cows are massaged daily, and buns are baked by angels! Now, I must say, the only tragedy of this culinary utopia is that it sometimes feels a tad understaffed. It’s as if the stars have aligned, the gods of gastronomy have blessed us with these glorious burgers, but alas, the service can be as slow as a snail on a lazy Sunday. But darlings, if patience is a virtue, then waiting for these burgers is a sanctifying experience! So, if you find yourself in need of a little bit of bliss, do make your way to Meadow Covert, where burgers are the closest thing to a religious experience, and where, with a dash of patience, you’ll be treated to a feast that’s nothing short of miraculous.

Just met Jimmy McCann and scooby do - I think scooby might have played for Forest and Stockport. If you like a quiet pint go after 9 Full of the great and good of Nottingham area, you never know who you might see there.

Came for lunching on a Wednesday at 1.30pm each I bring more with me as it's that fun!

We came on Sunday, lovely time in the garden with children, staff amazing really looked after us and was nice to see them enjoying there job! Will be coming again x

When we arrived there was NO spaces for parking, I thought it was because of a party but no parents fetching kids from school. I was very disappointed with the situation.

UPDATE: When we lived nearby we were regulars here and it was great, good food, friendly staff & always a lovely atmosphere so we decided to book a table to watch the football. We specified on the booking that we wanted a table near the large television. When we arrived we were put in front of the window, with a view of the (very) small television that is quite high up. One of us had our back to the television. It was also very sunny and the sun was glaring through the window right onto us to the point where we just couldn't stand it but there was no where else to move to as there were 2 people sitting across from us, separately, 1 on a table for 4, the other also on a table for 4. They were quite obviously regulars who then sat so no one could use any of the space that seated 10 as there was a table for 2 in-between them. We drank our drink and left severely disappointed. We won't be returning as it doesn't seem the same as it used to be to us. There should have really been a phone call made to tell us that the large television had been removed and were we OK with viewing on the other smaller television as we'd have made other arrangements.

Lovely last minute meal out with the family and our dog at the end of the Easter holidays. Called ahead and had a table booked to suit our needs. Welcomed on arrival by friendly staff, food was lovely and hot. Eton mess was made to perfection, lovely place to eat, great atmosphere. Would definitely visit again if we are in that neck of the woods in the future.

Just pints. No food. The bar lady is one of the friendliest I’ve seen in a while. Has that knack of being able to serve one, notice you say hello and take your order at the same time. Makes it a pleasant place to have a pint.

Lovely meal at a fair price highly recommended

I visited with my girlfriend at lunchtime and we just wanted a burger each off the lunch menu; so we ordered a couple of pints then sat down to check out the menu (I did ask the bar lady for a menu so she knew we were eating.) It took a couple of minutes to decide on the cheeseburger & chips off the lunch menu. However ..they do a meal deal where you can get burger + chips + a pint, £7.99. (£7.49 if it’s a soft drink.) But, as we’d already bought our 2 beers, the price was bizarrely still £7.99. We therefore paid in total for drinks + food, £25.88, instead of £15.98 if we’d been told about the deal when we got drinks, or if they’d knocked the £9.90 drinks off our food bill. (I could actually have ordered burgers, chips & soft drinks, and saved £1 on the deal, then just poured the drinks away.) The burgers were very good but being robbed of £9.90 means I get to knock off 2 stars as I wasn’t happy. They need to re-think this deal as a lot of diners will order a drink before looking at the menu!

Went yesterday for the comedy night, it was excellent and a really nice environment. Couldn’t fault the entertainment! The lady behind the bar Sam who served me was also lovely and was great helping me pick out of the selection of gins they had. Will definitely be going back.

I booked for my Mum 70th birthday. We were greeted by a wonderful lady, who promptly took our drinks order and checked that we were happy with our reserved table. Being a Monday it was quiet, but all the staff kept busy and were engaged and enthusiastic. Food arrived promptly and was lovely. We were a table of 5 and all of us cleaned our plates. Atmosphere was chilled and happy. We had a lovely afternoon and will definitely be back

Pubs website still lists opening hours from 11am to 12pm so turned up in taxi today at 11am only to find a printed note on the door informing me that the pub now opened at 11.30! Sounds trivial? I suffer with severe Emphysema and to be left outside a pub pub on a bitterly cold day could be fatal! Ok,I I this is a brewery decision but, for heavens sake keep your website up to date!! People actually do rely on its information! I have a suspicion that the new opening hours were sprung on pubs at less than a moment’s notice but whatever and wherever someone needs to pay less attention to profit ratios and more attention to the people who pay their wages ie, your customers! Thank you DG Cars for so promptly realising my distress and thereby averting a very serious consequence.

Went for lunch at Christmas. Food was plentiful, to put it mildly, well cooked, tasty and well presented . Service was very friendly and efficient. Drinks very reasonbly priced. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Thank you.

Food is pretty good, staff are friendly and the pub is cosy. However....the service is very disorganised. Even having pre-ordered food, they lost part of the order, then food took almost 2 hrs to arrive!!! We have heard of others bailing after food took over an hour to arrive. This is a real shame as the food is pretty good, a bit better than average basic pub grub. It seems to be a result of disorganised staff and maybe a chaotic kitchen? To boot there was no apology for the massive delay and incorrect orders. Hopefully awareness that this is a serious problem, already losing the business customers and money, will encourage the management to put in place a better system. Sadly, we won't be coming back again untill this happens.
