The best restaurants in East Midlands

Totally blown away, after a long hike around the nature reserve which is close by we felt a little peckish, after a quick hunt on Google I noticed this place and thought we would give it a bash. I didn't realise it would be such a great decision,it's currently going through some building work at the back but everyone was polite and welcoming, even the builders, we walked through the door and within moments we were greeted and seated. Not the normal rinse and repeat menu, such a refreshing change. After looking over their menu we decided to pick a couple of unusual sandwiches, this lead to us eating the best sandwiches of our life's... And I'm a pretty good sandwich maker 😉 It left me so happy I wanted to hug the owner and chef, I didn't, but that was the level of outstandingness achieved. We have been to top Mitchell restaurants around the world, yet a pub within an hour of my house resulted in such an amazing experience. For all that is good in the world, go... Go and eat there. A massive thank you to the owner and chef and please, keep up the amazing food.

Service was great, Arian was very helpful and presented an exciting vibe.

The staff offer amazing service and are polite. They go out of their way to make the dining experience perfect. The service and amazing food was really sensational. For my husband to enjoy a meal and compliment the Chef was truly amazing. The Scotch Egg starter with Apple and Leek Sauce tasted beautiful. Every mouthful was lovely on the pallet. I had the Mushroom Omlette with chips and side salad. This was well presented and the salad looked inviting. My husbands fish and chips ( or should I say whale) was beautifully presented. My husband asked for extra tartar sauce which the member of staff gave to him incorporated in to a large serving dish which was presented to him on his meal rather than on the side.

Managed to squeeze us in for Sunday lunch which was a bonus to start with! The food was absolutely amazing. Broad menu which caters for all. We had the Beef Sunday roast, the red cabbage and the cheesy leeks were delicious. All of the veg was so fresh and the meat was beautiful. My son had the quorn buttermilk chicken burger which came with fires and salad, he ate everything on his plate and commented on how nice the fries were.

Had a lovely meal here .. I highly rate this establishment the food is excellent very reasonable on price. service is spot on very clean very tidy Will be visiting very soon in the near future

Just had a ham sandwich with lovely fresh cooked ham 😋 n side salad was verynice certainly reccomend

This was our first visit since moving to the area , very impressed with everything , pizza and pasta both amazing !! Cocktails taste and look beautiful . Service friendly and welcoming . Will certainly be returning for their weekly offers very soon.. Mille grazie .

Had a lovely lunch at the Adam and Eve. Lovely food, very reasonably priced and helpful and attentive staff. Great pub atmosphere too. Highly recommended.

Went on a Wednesday evening, the food was amazing!!! I enquired who the chef was. A massive thank you to Chef Craig and kitchen staff.

Got a take away from here last night the food was all excellent and plenty of food for four.

Couldn't fault the place,staff were excellent and very helpful, food was top notch, they even gave doggy dinners free for our 3 dogs,would highly recommend.

I have tried nearly every curry house in the town and this is by far the most tasty flavoured curry off all ! Nothing comes close great job guys

We have stayed at the duke every other weekend from our first campervan adventure in February this year, we love it!! It's our happy place and there is nothing Bridget and the team wouldn't do to accommodate us, the campsite is lovely and the views are beautiful and the facilities are fantastic and clean, we love the pub with its lovely welcome, open fires and out of this world food !! We never want to stay anywhere else when visiting buxton/bakewell 5 stars 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 looking forward to seeing Bridget and the team soon 🥰
