The best restaurants in East Midlands

Closing time is 11pm and counter staff says you cant eat in 3ven at 9pm.

We visited twice during a short stay in the Peak District - once for brunch, and once for coffee and cakes. The food was excellent both times. There's a good choice of breakfast items, and a fabulous range of delicious cakes and scones. Good tea and coffee too, and the staff were really friendly and efficient.

What a lovely quirky bar. Dropped in for a quick drink on the way to our hotel. Can't wait to come back this evening.

Amazing place. We visited lasnight and got served by Mae, she was absolutely wonderful even suggesting us drinks and meals of the menu. She made the experience amazing, aswell as the food and environment felt cozy. thank you

We went to the Millwheel for early afternoon drinks with our friends. It turned out to a fabulous evening as it was on 31 December 24 and we had our drinks and pizza in the cosy part of the bar where the fire was lit and it was nice and cosy. We then when upstairs to sit at the tables upstairs to see the new year in. There was a fantastic DJ playing music and the ambiance was terrific and we saw new years in for 2025 with our friends. We had an amazing time. Thanks to Ollie and his team. Would definitely recommend this pub to others. Thank you 😀😀😀😀😀

We arrived at 8.30pm, we chose 3 starters for £14.95...these were all very tasty, then main courses, these were both excellent aswell, service was quick and the whole experience was without an issue. It's been 8 years since we ate here, long over due!! All I can say is Great Food cooked and served here and we will return at some point. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The peacock catered for our staff night out dinner and drinks and everything was just spot on! Fantastic food and the staff were really attentive nothing too much of an ask. Atmosphere was great would definitely go again

Easy to book. Spacious seating area and comfortable. Parking just across the road. The service and quality of food is very good indeed. We all had roast beef carvery but the other meats on offer looked equally delicious to the perfectly cooked and tender roast beef. The mashed potatoes were stunning. Likewise the jug of gravy provided to the table. We had a bottle of wine but there was a good selection of beers and lagers on offer. Highly recommend and we will definitely return.

The Thatch is a fabulous place - the setting, staff and food are fantastic and it’s one of our favourite places to go. Never disappointed. Beautiful decor, fantastic garden at the back to enjoy a relaxing drink on a spring/ summer evening. Food is always fab. Cannot recommend highly enough

The meal was not good the burger must have been cooked hrs before it was so dry the slaw was in a thimble not good

What a superb little restaurant, lucky just dropped in and got a table. Very rustic but food and service was excellent. Had Bruchetta and Nico’s Chicken Pasta, partner had Mushroom Bruchetta and Salmon Pasta, followed by one enormous piece of Tiramisu shared. Wine was a lovely Italian Puglia Primitivo red. What’s not to like. Very attentive staff and nicely timed service. Great place!!

This time I tried a sandwich & coffee. Both not to my satisfaction. ☕🙄🥪

Gluten free options clearly marked no online menus with conflicting options I had the Italian chicken it was perfectly cooked and delicious Hubby had carvery my what a full plate, he said it was beautifully cooked and the massive Yorkshire pudding was a hit Son had fish and chips good portion size chips were chunky and just right Mum in law had steak and ale pie she said it was tender and too many potatoes ( not sure that's possible) Coffee cheese cake for pudding was light and creamy The staff were friendly and attentive but not over bearing
