La Torre in North West Leicestershire

I’ve been to this restaurant many times as I love to support local companies and I’m very pleased to say the food was delicious as always. Unfortunately on this visit the service was not great , it was a busy Saturday night but the young male waiter looking after us wasn’t very attentive at times I asked questions he said he’d find out and never came back with an answer so had to ask someone else. I assume he was new and didn’t expect him to know everything but would expect him to find out and come back to us. All in all still love the restaurant and will return just a shame this visit was to the usual standards service wise

First class hosting Greg thank you . You made everyone feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble . The Jazz singer, Carly George was fabulous . The food was outstanding, very tasty and well presented and the cheesecake was to die for .The evening was outstanding so thank you . Happy memories and fun times . Never had a bad experience in La Torre, they are very welcoming and make sure that you are well attended to. Great food freshly cooked, and an excellent choice of wines. Highly recommended.

The restaurant owner is friendly … probably the only good thing about this place . The food on the other hand is disgusting. My food was raw. I mean how can you not cook pasta properly? My pasta was hard! The sauce was nothing like carbanara sauce it was oily and horrible. My partners pasta was hard aswell. So we complained and the woman with blonde hair was so rude like she didn’t beleive us and then said that they normally don’t cook it thoroughly? Never ever have I been to an Italian restaurant and had raw pasta. Anyway she took it in the back and then came out and apologised coz obviously she realised it was awful. Will never step foot in there again. If u want a good Italian in north west Leicestershire please go to Zimanis Ashby de la zouch. The best you will ever taste.

Amazing food, atmosphere and staff! Really enjoy coming to this restaurant! It is the best by far. The owner is very attentive and will make you feel very welcome as do the rest of the staff.

Been here quite a few times, food, service and atmosphere is always fantastic. Last night seemed to be absolutely phenomenal, my awkward boyfriend (who is a fussy ex chef himself) ordered his fillet steak blue and said FOR ONCE it was cooked to absolute perfection as was every other persons meal of the table of 6. And the owners and staff are just lovely! Highly recommended.

Really good choice on the menu, we have ordered over the last few months because it all sounds so good. We have found all starters, mains and desserts that we have ordered are as good as the restaurant food!!! Something different and a little treat as a takeaway.All that is missing is the lovely restaurant atmosphere.

Visited last night for the Tuesday night pasta deal. Amazing food, so fresh and tasty and excellent service as usual. It is so good to have a restaurant of this quality on our door step!

First time we have had a meal at La Torre, we were not disappointed. Lovely and attentive staff, with a warming atmosphere. We will certainly be back.

Party of 4 who benefited from a last minute cancellation. Food and atmosphere absolutely great, would score a 4.8 as would prefer staff to be a bit less attentive. Will definitely be coming back in the future.

We've had dinner here three times in the past two weeks, and it has never disappointed. The food is excellent, nice ambience, and the owner is very friendly. My wife and I had the carbonara each time, it's excellent, we have a tough time finding good carbonara in the states, it's always swimming in too much sauce. My brother had a variety of items and enjoyed them all. It's too bad we'll have to wait until our next vacation for another visit.

Lovely atmosphere with great food & service ,plenty of parking at rear too. Nice & clean with a good choice of dishes.

Our first visit post lockdown and weren’t disappointed. Standards are as higher as ever and the added COVID precautions give a feeling of safety. The atmosphere was warm and friendly as it’s always been, the food was up to Greg high standards.It is quite simply the best restaurant in Coalville.

The food was fairly average, fairly bland and boring, definitely not worth coming back for. The service was fairly average too, the food was quick but spent a lot of time trying to get the attention of staff for the bill and drinks etc. Really disappointed as the place had such good reviews, but I definitely wouldn’t go back again and wouldn’t recommend to anybody else.

We had a fabulous night mussels in garlic and cream and a beautiful rare fillet steak with pepper sauce perfectly cooked it was superb. The atmosphere was wonderful . Our first meal out since lockdown, so we returned to an old favourite. The precautions including separate entrance and exit were new, but the welcome and high standard of food remained unchanged. Sensibly the staff had face shields and disposable menus were ripped up after we had ordered. The veal may have gone from the menu, but we enjoyed each course and can't wait to return.

I have been visiting this restaurant since it opened and it's my first choice for a meal out, lunchtime or evening. The food is always amazing, fresh produce, cooked to perfection and great value. If I take my children, the team are always happy to go off menu to cater for them if there's nothing they fancy.The service and hospitality is great, Greg makes you feel like a celebrity, him and his great team of staff can't do enough to make you feel welcome and special.If we have an occasion to celebrate, La Torre is our first choice. Great food, brilliant service and in this time of social distancing, I felt totally safe and protected by the measures in place.

The service was excellent, and the three courses we had that included mussels and calamari as starters, monkfish and pork as a main course,and tiramisu and cheese cake for dessert were very nice. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very good and the hospitality very welcoming.

Visited on a Tuesday evening, I had heard that they do a deal on a Tuesday for pasta and a drink but couldn't see anything, I'm assuming maybe because of covid? This was okay tho as prices were very good.Service was good, one of the girls seemed new but she was lovely, the owner (I think) was very accommodating, walking round to check everyone was OK and chatting, even gave me a glass of wine on the house! Food was gorgeous my mum had a steak and it was melt in the mouth! I had penne don Vito which was also nice although I think I panic chose! Penne salmone looked amazing.Definitely will be back after our first visit.

Our first meal out since lockdown. This was our first visit to La Torre but wont be our last. The food and service were both excellent.

In these strange times of not going out I suppose there’s fewer and fewer reviews. Well La Torre are dong their very best to survive. They are doing an order and collect service. It’s a bit boring being stuck inside so we thought we’d treat ourselves. The available dishes are some what restricted but I feel that’s to be expected. We ordered lasagna with a tomato sauce and two tiramisu’s. Fabulous just fabulous. Two good size portions of lasagne and tiramisu. Lovely pasta with a great sauce and a tiramisu to die for. All washed down with a bottle of DOC Prosecco that’s been sitting in the fridge for some time. We’ll definitely be doing this again, any new restrictions permitting. Ok go and help keep this worthy establishment going. Great food good prices.

Visited 20/2/20 as a gift for my wife and I from my daughter we chose our meal from the 2 course lunch menu, my wife chose borlotti and carrot soup both myself and my daughter chose field mushroom stuffed with aubergine, topped with mozzarella. All of us had the fillet of sea bass with roasted veg. All of the dishes arrived promptly and we're hot and tasty. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Photo of mushroom starter.

Visited on Saturday evening with my husband what a treat. The place has a lovely feel and the staff welcoming, friendly and attentive. The food is first class, well presented with ample portions. We will be back...

We’ve eaten here many times before and always enjoy the freshly cooked pasta and Italian dishes.Great place a celebrate a special occasion with a great selection of food and wines.We have been in a large and small group as well as just the 2 of us on a number of occasions.They also do a great deal on a Tuesday ‘Pasta Night’...Check into it, well worth a visit...!

Was there for Saturday lunch with my girlfriend Food and service was so good I had Calamari as starter and Saltimbocca alla Romana was super I will definitely come back Thank you guys keep going!!

The quality of the food was exceptional, everything tasted fresh and well cooked. I had three courses. The soup was wonderful and garlicky, there were plenty of fresh vegetables to accompany the main, which was cooked perfectly and the tiramisu melted in your mouth.Wonderful restaurant. Good service.

My daughter and I were in Coalville to watch a friend's play and, having consulted TripAdvisor, chose to lunch at this restaurant - and we were not disappointed so thank yu to all who have reviewed it in the past. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and welcoming. It also has the added convenience of a large car park at the rear - and an entrance door to the restaurant from the cara park. Will definitely return if in Coalville again and thank you to all the staff.

Visited as a party of 4 friends for a long overdue catch up and chose La Torre on their recommendation and the fact it is within walking distance. Place was quite busy as had 2 big birthday parties at the rear of the restaurant but plenty of staff on hand to keep things moving. We were not rushed into ordering and enjoyed extra bread and olives whilst we chatted and decided on food. Good choice of pasta dishes and meat and seafood so something for everyone and Carling and Pironi on draft as well as nice bottle of red wine. Owner and staff really friendly and can have a laugh with them, not the cheapest option but best place for good food in Coalville.

We went on music night and the atmosphere was fantastic. The menu on music night is a bit limited but we all found something to our liking, and it was very tasty. Friendly and efficient staff, but it is the atmosphere that made the night.

Hadn't been here for a while, but things have not changed ! Food still fantactic and brilliant service. Just one criticism,portions of potatoes & vegetables are too small, one small dish to share ?

This place was heaving! With a great atmosphere and good food. The sea bass was excellent. Considering the amount of customers the service was excellent and attentive. Music night was s hit for me!

A great evening at La Torre. Menu is extensive, service polite and attentive, and our meals were delicious. Prices are reasonable and the general atmosphere is lively and family friendly.

My wife and I visited on a busy Saturday night and we had a fantastic time. The food was amazing, we had 3 courses plus cocktails and a bottle of wine and it was great value. The staff were attentive and friendly and I can see why this is the place to go in Coalville.

We went for a girly catch up. One of our party had been before but I hadn’t. The menu looked promising but it actually delivered. Wow. Just yummy. I had the “surf and turf” which was fillet steak and prawns/mussels. Yum. Loved it. My type of food. The house wine was tip too too

This friendly Italian restaurant is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for good hearty Italian food with soul then you won’t find better. The pasta dishes are excellent especially the salmon dish but there’s lot of variety on the menu to choose from, including scallops, sea bass and pork. There’s also a great selection of Italian cocktails and liqueurs to complement your meal. I ordered the special chocolate torte for desert and I wasn’t disappointed. Must say the locals are very lucky to have this restaurant in their town.

We booked a table to dine with our son and daughter in law not realising it was pasta specials night so it was lovely and busy with a good vibe. Everyone enjoyed the food and my gluten intolerence was catered for with gluten free fusilli. My pasta al salmone was full of chunks of salmon and very tasty. The staff were friendly and efficient. Easy parking behind the restaurant.

This was a birthday meal for 6. On the whole the meal was uninspiring. Prawns watery with no taste, average pasta, and on ordering a second bottle of Gavi we were told they’d run out ! I really won’t be booking again.

Can't really say much more about this place it is fine for a local, Italian restaurant - nice food, good service, reasonably priced. Bit disappointing there were no pizzas on the menu though.

My future husband and I had dinner there. Even without a booking the waitress managed to find a table for us. My goat cheese starter was brilliant, but my partner wished to have prawns from UK instead of foreign ones. Main courses (monkfish and chicken) were great. Wine was wonderfully cold and crispy.

To have to write this review saddens me I have been to this restaurant lots of times since it first opened

Staff were very friendly from when we walked in to when we left. Food was excellent. It was very busy but no one was left waiting and everything ran smoothly. End of the night when we paid we had a good chat with the owner and his staff and again everyone was friendly just chatting like old friends. Will definitely go back.

Would like to thank Greg and all his wonderfull staff who made my birthday celebrations with friends so special the food was amazing and the hospitality was even better. The Italian food here is authentic and delicious. We come here every Christmas as a large group. The staff are welcoming and friendly and prices are reasonable. Got nothing but praise for them and I hope they stay around for many years to come!

Genuine friendly Italian restaurant, serving well seasoned tasty Italian food at a great competitive price. You can't go wrong with a bowl of amazing sausage pasta with a glass of house red, and some super fresh bread!

When we arrived at La Torre just before 8pm on Sat 16th Mar, we were given a table near a very noisy group. I was about to stand up to approach the manager to ask if we can move to a quieter place, when he gestured to me to sit down and someone will come. Then I saw a male waiter and asked him if we could move to a quieter place. The waiter had spoken to the manager and we were allowed to move.

Absolutely first class food service couldn't wish for anywhere better. I've never had any issues with food or staff and found them more than accommodating. 100%recommend this place to anybody looking for quality food. Great atmosphere too a mixture of clientele and upper class and working class. Cant fault place

We had our fourth Book Club Birthday Dinner here last night. Wonderful staff and atmosphere and great attention to detail. We have several vegetarians in our group, and they were had a great choice too. Food is consistently good. Trying to find a venue that pleases all of our group is quite a challenge but I think I have found it in La Torre. Thank you so much - great team.

Heard amazing things so tried it out with my partner - was quite disappointed with the quality of the carbonara (we both had it!). A bit too undercooked for pasta and not enough sauce. However we will go back because the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! Every chef has off days.. we hope it's just the one!!

Ended up here as a last minute booking when another restaurant let us down... and I'm glad we did.

Having never been before but hearing from various friends that it was good I decided to book here for a special birthday. Whilst the food was excellent and enjoyed by everyone I have to say that I would not book again for a special occasion. The whole evening seemed rushed and the coffee came out before the dessert. I had not even finished mine when the birthday cake appeared. They did not close until 10pm but before 9.30pm there was 4 or 5 members of staff standing in a group all glaring at our table. Family members remarked about this and we felt we had to ask for the bill and leave just so that they could clear up and go home. Also earlier in the day I had a couple of people cancel, fortunately I was nearby and went in to tell them. However we received an extra starter on the night which I pointed out that I had cancelled earlier on in the day but they just left it on the table. Also one the sides that was ordered did not arrive and when queried they said they did not have any and would deduct it off the final bill. It was not deducted off which I did not realise until the next day and I was charged for the starter, but when I queried that on the night with the member of staff in question it was just shrugged off. So if you want to go somewhere and make an evening of it that is not rushed this is not the place but if you just want a quick meal out then it is fine.

We visited La Torre on Friday 30th November as our football parents Christmas night out. Greg and his team were excellent as always. Nothing is ever too much trouble, even squeezing an extra guest in at last minute. The food was lovely, drinks flowed a little bit too easily and the entertainment was the perfect finish. You absolutely can not fault La Torre especially at £24.95 per person for 3 courses!

La Torre has been our favourite restaurant since we moved to Coalville 5 years ago. Sadly tonight’s visit will possibly be our last, but only because we’re moving out of the area. Tonight was the usual excellent standard in terms both of food and service. If you’re a lover of good food in a relaxed friendly atmosphere then we would recommend you try La Torre. You won’t regret it.

Food was lovely but staff seemed to be less than interested in serving their customers well. They weren’t very welcoming however apart from that it was a good evening with good food and drink.

Have visited La Torre on many occasions over the past few years- both as a couple and on a couple of occasions as a group of around 20 for a Christmas celebration. No one could accuse Coalville of being a saught after culinary destination, but perhaps La Torre is one exception which proves the rule.

La Torre is a beautiful Italian restaurant situated in coalville, have been on many occasions with my husband, with friends and with family. Our experience of la Torre is always first class, the food is amazing with lots of choice and a specials board also to pick from, the service is also first class very professional and attentive, the cost of the food is pretty good you pay for good food so that's what you know you will get, congratulations la Torre your the best Italian in coalville .

Four of us had a meal here and really enjoyed the evening. The staff were very friendly and occasionally engaged with the customers in a little banter. There was a good selection of meals and the drinks were reasonably priced.

Recommend by friends. The night was a great success. The food is really good and the owners have a great flare for making you welcome and engaging with you. Steaks are highly recommend as is the cheesecake, you have to try it. Will return.

Decided on a last minute meal as in the area , nice cuisine with excellent service . Good selection of food but slightly disappointed on the Tirimisu bit sloppy & not up to standard .But rest of the meal fine .

Lunch from the special lunch menu was lovely. I had the goats cheese and pear starter with sea bass as the main. Fish cooked perfectly and just the right amount for lunch. Added in desert of cheesecake with bananas which was huge but very light...delicious!

Came to visit with 4 friends on a Friday evening and having been before thought it would be a good meal. The restaurant was full and even though we had booked the service was shockingly slow we had to ask to order our food! We waited for over an hour for our mains and when we complained they said it was our fault as we should have ordered a starter?? The food when it came was average and 2 of my friends meals were not good. In the end we complained again and they gave us a good discount but it ruined the evening to be honest. Very disappointed

Visited restaurant for a Friday evening meal with family. We were initially concerned at how quiet it was for a Friday, but it soon got busier! Friendly, welcoming staff looked after us very well. Food was delicious - we had steak, pasta and salad between us and everyone enjoyed their meals. The mascarpone cheesecake was light and tasty too. Definitely going back!

What a disappointment!!!! Our table was not clean, the cutlery and glasses stuck to it. It was so close to our neighbors table that they bashed into one of the chairs to get past We managed to shuffle the table away to give enough space for the last arrival of our party to sit down properly.

On my third visit to La Torre in the past 2 years I am still as pleasantly surprised by the excellent service, amazing food, and warm and friendly welcome. As usual it was absolutely buzzing and filled with diners. The menu caters for all tastes and as a fussy eater but a complete Italian food addict I am always completely satisfied by the choice of dishes available. This time I had the tiramisu which was the best I’ve ever had. Thank you La Torre, will be back very soon!!

Went in December for a meal with work colleagues! Had the Xmas set menu! Restaurant very busy which we think resulted in average service! Soup wasn’t great! Very watery and not much flavour! Main was nice! We like that the vegetables were help yourself although some of the veg didn’t match with a roast dinner but was fine! The cheesecake wasn’t impressive it was just soft cream on biscuit and didn’t have much flavour! So don’t think I’d bother visiting again especially not being local to coalville!

The food was fantastic and service was second to none as always, the mussels in a spicy sauce are so sweet and large, keeps you coming back for more EXCELLENT

Visited on the 21st December as part of a table of 6. Enjoyed a lovely meal and staff were very attentive despite having several large Christmas parties and live music to attend to. We have visited before and have enjoyed lovely food every time. Only recommendation would be for more fresh pasta on the menu rather than dried.

Amazing roast dinner- meat melted in your mouth. Kid portion were a great size. There was loads of veg to share amongst our table & we were asked several times if we had enough. We had the 2 course offer - puddings were all great - especially the cheesecake which was 5* as usual . Highly recommend

Food was delicious. We all had the black pudding starter, hubby and friend had the lobster ravioli and I had the steak - all beautifully cooked. We were made to feel so welcome and the waitress was so attentive. Booked to go back in two weeks to try the Sunday roast !

Lovely Sunday roast down La Torre, Superb meal 10/10. The prawn starter was beautiful. Then I choose the Sunday roast with lamb (recommend) for my main course. Finishing the meal off with profiteroles as my Desert. Overall good quality food and reasonable sized portions, also excellent service and lovely staff working there! RECOMMEND

La Torre are now serving Sunday lunches. A traditional Sunday lunch with the La Torre touch. A good range of carefully cooked roasts "presented" on the plate rather than just served . if you want to upgrade from pub Sunday roasts this is the place to go.If you are have not visited before you will notice that on any given occasion there will be a good number of regular customers which says more about the food and service than I can.

My girlfriend and I visited on a Wednesday night and had a fantastic time. The food was amazing...we had the salmon and sea bass and they were delicious! The staff were attentive and friendly and I can see why this is the place to go in Coalville.

What a local gem! Excellent service, lovely ambience and the food is superb! We had a gorgeous meal for our anniversary; A generous portion of mussels napoleta, followed by a perfectly cooked fillet finished with a great espresso and warmed courvoisier. Bellissimo! Thank you.

I just love the warm black pudding , mushroom and pancetta starter , it's my absolute favourite here . After my delicious main of fillet of beef I had no room for a dessert . Enjoyed my liqueur coffee , good service , great ambience , perfect evening .

I love this Italian. Excellent food, this restaurant really stands out as the top in Coalville. Ambience is good, service is unfailingly good and friendly without being too OTT. The parking is easy.Highly recommneded for lunch and for the Mon and Tuesday pasta deals as fantastic value.Oh please start opening in Sunday evenings.

Great food & lovely service. There is limited restaurant choice in Coalville so La Torre really is a stand out gem. Had calamari to start which was lovely, a lamb special for main and the cheesecake for dessert. Will definitely be coming back!
