Excellent meal on short trip to meet up with family. Very tempting menu and food definitely did not disappoint. I think the fact that restaurant was so busy on a Monday night clearly shows how good a restaurant this is, and with great staff too.

Love Zamanis and the Wine Bar! The ONLY place in the town to have consistently good food in a great atmosphere. The outside courtyard is lovely in the summer and when we don’t fancy a full meal in the restaurant we love snuggling up in the wine bar with pizza & bottle of wine. Whether with friends or a couple, it’s just such a lovely place to be 🥰

Zamani's is our 'go to' place every weekend! We meet up with family & friends for drinks, the staff & owners have become our friends too. So many nice people choose to come here for family celebrations or just to meet up & spend time together in such a wonderful place, a real gem!💎 ❤️

We’ve been going to Zamanis for years and it’s 100% the best place in Ashby for food and drinks. Amazing atmosphere and we’ve never had a bad experience. We recently ran a charity fundraising event for our business and approached zamanis to help they didn’t hesitate and were absolutely amazing providing pizzas for a load of hungry athletes! Will be back there again on our next time out in Ashby!

Once again amazing tasty food and fast service. The prawn and chorizo pasta was outstanding.

Celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary Saturday evening and have to say that the food was amongst the best that we have experienced over the 41 years including fine dining, cruise liniers ( QE2 etc) , Concorde , most of the top hotel restaurants in London, Paris ,Rome, Madrid ,Lisbon, anon. The staff were extremely attentive without being intrusive, atmosphere buzzing. The price was no more than local branded outlets. Charmaigne and myself will certainly be imbibing & dining here again.

Great little Italian restaurant in Ashby. It has an adjacent bar so you can enjoy a drink before dinner.

Highly recommend! Very good food, one of the orders were missed (large group) but it was made and brought out very quickly! Good value!

We booked for a group of 6 of us for a birthday in May and didn’t have the best of experiences as it was so busy and some tables turned up late which had a knock on effect. However, the owners were so apologetic and contacted me the next day to arrange for us to go again and have the experience we were expecting and WOW what an excellent time we had. The food and service was excellent and we had such a heartfelt apology from the owner I nearly started to cry! 😀 I would definitely recommend this restaurant. We all know that with any business sometimes things do go wrong but it was addressed and our right and that’s all you can ever expect. Thank you Zamani’s for an excellent evening. There were 6 very happy people leaving your restaurant. Well done to all 👍🏻😀

Fantastic experience. The food, service and atmosphere is great.

So much better than the last time we visited Zamani's in May, the management invited us back and we were greeted by the owner, who apologised for our previous experience. This time, the table was ready at the booked time and the staff kept our evening flowing at the perfect pace; we weren't rushed but it never felt slow. My starter (tandoori pigeon) was really good, well cooked with lots of flavour and a sauce that complimented the meat. I had the same main as last time (vasel-lame) but this time it came hot and cooked through, nice mix of flavours and including a range of seafood. Lemon and lime cheesecake to finish had a light texture and the citrus flavour cut through. Serving staff were attentive without being overbearing and we had a thoroughly good evening, the last to leave! If I have an 'even better if', it is that the portion sizes are a little on the small side; I comfortably ate three courses when I would usually only have two. Overall, this was a much more positive experience and I would return again.

Fabulous meal this evening at Zamanis. Kelly looked after us and we loved sitting in the newly refurbished window. Food was fab and the atmosphere was amazing.

Absolutely delicious..the Kalamari was 10/10..the prawns were amazing the staff were nice and polite ..the owners are fantastic people very kind and made us feel very welcome…the Cypriot lunch time menu is excellent ..every dish served was full of flavour and fresh..100 percent we’ll be going back..👍👍💯

This was the third time my friend and I have been to Zamanis for lunch in as many months and we love it. The owner is friendly and welcoming and the waitress, who has served us on each visit, is attentive and helpful. On the first visit we had lasagne and on the second moussaka, both delicious and authentic. The menu has plenty of choice but because I had enjoyed the lasagne so much on our first visit I just had to have it again and wasn’t disappointed. Apparently it is the owner’s sister’s own recipe which the family has used for many years, delicious! Next time we are planning an evening visit when we will be trying a few cocktails before our meal, think we’ll be needing a taxi!

We came here as part of a day out for my son's first birthday and it was the perfect end to our day. It was a Wednesday night so we were able to order from the Cypriot meze menu. It's been years since I've had the pleasure to eat such top level Greek cuisine. We had moussaka (the best I've had anywhere in the UK, Greece or Cyprus!), chicken souvlaki, lemon potatoes (X2), fried calamari, stuffed peppers and a goat curry. All fantastic, and I'm getting hungry just writing this review! It's a shame I live over 2.5 hours away but I'll certainly be back and would recommend to anybody.

Just had Sunday lunch at Zamani's. This was our 1st visit and we were really impressed. The best Sunday lunch we've had in a restaurant! Unfortunately an elderly lady was poorly and the owner & his wife were amazing in looking after her and the diners who witnessed the situation. We will definitely be returning - can't wait. We hope the lady makes a good recovery ❤️

Sunday lunch , first time, we’ve had a Sunday lunch x 4 , very impressed, service’s and quality of food , faultless!, all cooked fresh, waitress was there if you needed , but not hovering , portion size was spot on, mixed fresh veg, deserts, excellent

Just enjoyed a wonderful lunch in Zamanis. We had their Meze menu which was delicious. Service was excellent. We followed our Meze with sticky toffee pudding. Definitely the best we have ever tasted. In our opinion this is still the best restaurant in Ashby.

Just spent a lovely couple of hours celebrating my wife’s birthday over a relaxing lunch at Zamani’s. The service was excellent as always, the freshly cooked was delicious (spaghetti bolgnese & pizza) and served piping hot. I’ve never been disappointed and will keep returning. 10/10.

Don't understand why people in Ashby rave about this place, we won't be going to Zamani's again. All of our party had arrived by the time the table was booked for (7.15) but the table wasn't ready until 7.50. Service throughout the evening was slow. We only ordered mains but it was 9.00 before they were brought out. Mine was not cooked, raw prawns were clearly visible, so was sent back but brought back so quickly they can only have microwaved it. Value for money on portion size was poor, I was still hungry after eating my main. To be fair, they gave us a round of free drinks for the delay in bringing out the food and they knocked my meal off the bill. Hence, two stars, would've been one otherwise.

So we have heard so many good things about this restaurant we decided to try it. First I tried to find out back in February if they were doing a special night for valentines, but like so many others got no reply . We decided to give them another go for my girlfriend’s birthday last night and got booked in for 7pm. We arrived a little before 7pm (maybe 5 minutes )and upon introducing myself and explaining it was our first visit, we were greeted with a very nonplussed person who said your table isn’t quite ready yet and promptly ushered out and into the wine bar neither of us drink but my girlfriend did had a coffee. Now when you book a restaurant you are quiet often told that if you don’t show within 10-15 minutes of your booking your table will be given away. We were still in the wine bar at 7:15pm and the same lady brought us menus and asked if we wanted to order there to speed things up, but the table would be ready in 5 minutes. She also explained that everything was cooked to order. At least another 10 minutes passed before we said we were ready to order by which point we were shown to the table finally, around 25 minutes after the time we booked it for. We ordered starters and mains and the starters appeared in under 10 minutes which was good, but how do you take an order and freshly cook Pigeon in Tandoori in that time? My pate was 100% not home made. Mains took some time and I can tell a frozen lasagna from a fresh one and mine was frozen, I don’t even think freshly cooked and frozen, it was definitely microwaved and not good quality, My partner said her main was good. We didn’t stay for desserts I can only guess what they would have been like. If this is the best we have in Ashby I think I’ll be travelling out of town in future, I was not sure between a bad or average score but I think overall the experience and food were distinctly average.

Stunning food in a quaint, intimately modern, boutique like restaurant. I was there as part of a large group of 18, given there were other diners, the two waitresses were brilliant, offering a prompt and efficient service where nothing was too much trouble. The food was quite honestly the best Italian food I have ever had. The selection on offer was varied and catered for many tastes. The prawns were particularly favoured by the group. I highly recommend trying this resteraunt if you are local. If you are not local, find a way to make a visit.

We came last week for a meal at lunch time and could not fault it! Food, drinks & service all 10/10. The Cypriot meze menu is a must try! I believe they do this at lunchtimes and also Mon & Weds evenings! The moussaka off this menu is to die for! Thank you Zamanis for always providing such a wonderful experience whether it’s lunch, dinner or just drinks! Would recommend this place to anyone!

Fabulous food & fabulous service as always. Went today for lunch and had a mixture of starters & Cypriot meze. Everything was delicious but the moussaka is to DIE for. A firm favourite of ours. Zamanis never fails to impress and deserves all the credit as Ashby’s best restaurant!

This is by far my favourite restaurant in Ashby de la zouch. The food is always delicious, the service is fabulous, ambiance is spot on! The location is great with a carpark out back & street parking out front. You've gotta try the PilPil starter .... its legendary!! 😋

I went with my husband last week and the Greek plates of food we chose were so delicious that we returned yesterday with our daughter and 3 year old grandson. Once again, the food was amazing but the staff are outstanding. They made our dining experience wonderful and I can't wait to return in the near future.

I am a regular with my family. I drive up from Liverpool to see my family in Ashby. It is one of my favourite restaurants. The food is excellent and the service is warm and friendly. Brilliant

We had a wonderful meal on valentine’s night. The food was excellent and so was the service. It’s so nice to enjoy a meal and not feel rushed. We had time between courses to enjoy our wine and relax! The menu has great choices for all tastes, my fiancé particularly enjoyed the Cypriot menu with the small plate dishes, I think he would have had them all if he could have ate them! Great meal last night in Zamani’s in Ashby with friends. Tandoori pigeon is something else! Top marks to the chef. Steak was perfectly cooked and very tender. The Barolo - amazing and great value. What a gem of a place. Highly recommend.

Went for late Sunday lunch. Table not quite ready so had a pre-meal glass of wine in wine bar adjoining. 1 beef (served pink) and 1 lamb (would have prefered pink). Very nice though, with veg sides all cooked well. For deserts my wife had tiramisu, I unusually went for a sticky toffee pudding, to which all other sticky toffee puddings should aspire - superb. Good value, good quality, friendly service.

Such a cute little place, food is always fantastic, fast friendly staff, hard to get a reservation so book about a week or more early! Finally a place using seasonal ingredients and a menu that changes up - unlike some others around here! Really fantastic place!

Incredible food! We came here for a birthday and the food was incredible, we had the halloumi dippers to start which were delicious. Followed by the beef moussaka and ham hock special. Both were flavoursome and the mustard mash and parsley sauce with the ham hock was outstanding! We were too full for dessert but we saw a few coming out on the table next to us so next time we will have to try this!

We read the reviews and booked here for Friday night as we were staying in Ashby for the weekend. Nice place, friendly staff and amazing food. We shared the belly pork and calamari starters and ordered the surf and turf and ocean pizzas, which we really enjoyed but sadly, no room for desert. Would we come here again, definitely- shame we live so far away.

First visit to this local restaurant and it was lovely. Staff all very welcoming, professional and helpful. Food was of an excellent standard and quality, we couldn't fault any of it. My husband and neice said that you didn't really need a knife for the beef as it was so tender. As she can be picky then that was indeed high praise from her. Presentation was lovely and the portion sizes were more than ample. Will definitely be returning. Well done to all at Zamani's.

Very nice staff, well cooked and tasty food. Reasonably priced. Slightly dull dining area but, in the grand scheme of things, that's fairly inconsequential.

Nice atmosphere, good service. Food was pretty mediocre unfortunately - tasted like bought in pizza bases and plastic cheese. Would have hoped for better quality then your average takeaway pizza. Probably won’t come back as a result.

Four adults food was good especially steak. My meal chicken Diane was not very warm apart from that nice food.

15 of us eat here last Saturday and it was awesome ! We all had different starters and mains and all came out hot and delicious! Personally I had the creamy mushrooms then the steak and it was the simple delicious. And my mate had a pizza 🍕 and said you can not get any better !! The staff catered for all our needs and more! I have lived now in ashby for 15 years and been here many times and still is top draw

Been to the restaurant and used the takeaway and found the food fantastic at both. Reasonably priced too for how nice it is. Definitely recommend.

I've praised Zamanis previously but last night the food was exceptional. Friends from Newcastle were absolutely blown away by the standard of food served. Great night, many thanks to all at Zamanis!

Mixed feelings about our lunch here. Food took a long time to come, but was delicious. We sat in the courtyard and someone was chain smoking on another table the whole time we were there and the smoke was constantly blowing over us. This was despite a sign asking people not to smoke. I wouldn't want to sit outside again for that reason. Food was delicious, staff were friendly, but the constant smell of smoke ruined it.

This venue is a family favourite but when our Uni student son returns from 4 years away in 2 different Uni’s and first meal out had to be Zamani’s then they must be doing something right ! Also joined by a friend and first time visitor who wants a return invite. Well done Team Z, food and ambience amazing and you just get it right every time. Thank you.

Met here for an early evening meal with colleagues. A good selection of dishes to choose from, really good service and a nice atmosphere... actually surprised how busy it was mid week. All enjoyed the meal. This was my first visit but no doubt I will be back.

The food is very very good, the service is absolutely excellent and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. With all this being as good as it is, you would expect to pay 5 star prices, but at Zamani's this is not the case. It's not cheap but it most certainly is value for money. What's not to like!

First time ordering from them,tried most of the other pizza places around Ashby-del-la-Zouch,but this place has got some really nice pizzas very tasty and definitely worth it,nr 1 so far on my list.

If you want GOOD food this is the place to go,great atmosphere outside aswell with live acoustic music,staff magnificent always with a smile,will definitely return.

Fabulous meal & great service a little disappointing the cocktail bar wasn’t open

Been a number of times always good food. Last night however everything we had was VERY heavy on the oil. Greek lamb stew, moussaka (and the salad garnish), Greek salad, chicken pasta with pesto all swimming in oil. Very disappointed. Won't be rushing back. Note the Greek salad was completely different to the same dish on the Cypriot menu which is light and delicious (but not available last night) .

Always have a great meal when we go, the last time we went we did have takeaway and the poor lad didn't look prepared for our order but the food was still delicious.

Exceptional restaurant. Beautifully prepared food and just as importantly, very friendly and helpful staff. My wife and I spent a lovely couple of hours here last night and were made to feel very welcome. Very nice cosy, warm atmosphere as well. Looking forward to returning soon.

The current climate on cash is tough and then we see a 2 for 1 offer on pizzas on a local restaurant for Pizzas in the Courtyard. We jumped at this to give my kids a break and a boost, well flipping heck the pizza was exactly as we had paid full price for zero cost cutting from the restaurant in support of this deal. My kids as you will see in the photos are super happy and as this offer is on over the summer we will be back

Recently dined for Sunday Lunch. Good quality was amazing. Partner had the Beef Sunday Dinner, beautifully presented with vegetables served on the side along with pot of extra gravy that was real tasty. I ate a pizza off the main menu, which was also fantastic. Would height recommend. Thank You

We walked into the restaurant to a buzzing atmosphere, smiling staff, and smiling customers. Excellent service throughout even though very busy. I had calamari starter which tasted divine, then Spaghetti Bolognaise which was delicious. My sister and friend and i had such a great evening , thank you all for hardwork.

Lovely food & good wine. Arrived early so sat in the cocktail bar and had a lovely cocktail before eating. Staff were friendly and attentive. Will definitely visit as I am local and recommending to everyone!!
