ASK Italian in North West Leicestershire

Lovely lunchtime experience at this modern bright venue celebrating a big birthday with friends. We were very well looked after by the charming Amber, who had taken note of my email concerning the birthday, & she made a real fuss of the birthday lady, which was very much appreciated. The menu is varied, the food promptly delivered & very tasty. Top marks - we will return !

Excellent food and service. Lovely atmosphere inside the restaurant. All the food was fresh and cooked beautifully. Service was exceptional and very attentive.

Ordered garlic prawn starter, they were rancid, barely cooked and covered in black mould. Please don't order these

Awful. The top layers are completely missing, barely anything left to eat. Less than 15 chips. Not sure where our £50 has gone.

Such a wonderful time, the staff, especially Lauren, were all so lovely, very attentive and polite. The food was divine, plus the range of desserts was amazing! We will be back.

Don't be put off by the pale looking calamari, it tastes good. Everything delivered as ordered, pleasant staff attentive but not intrusive. Takeaway box no problem.

First time at ask and it was lovely. Service was good and food was spot on thank you. We will be coming back again soon.

Had a great meal for my mums birthday, service from the lovely Ryan was fantastic as always, and the food was delicious.

The food was good and I have no complaints about it but the state of the place. The amount of food and mess in the floor was unreal. The table we were shown to was sticky after we watched it being wiped but then had to clean it ourselves using the cloth and cleaner. The worrying thing for me was this is front of house, the areas we can’t see, how bad are they? Service was ok, coffee came without teaspoons so used the spoon from our dessert. It’s been a while since I have been to Ask Italian and it will be along while before I go back

Absolutely delicious food, we ordered the salami misti pizza, pollo della casa, and the kids happy face pizza (lovely touch, makes it so much more interesting for little ones!) The restaurant was clean and had a really nice atmosphere. The service provided by Ryan was excellent and we will be back.

Disappointing takeaway. Ordered online a 'bundle' for 2, received confirmation in an email. Discovered when my husband had gone to collect it that another email had been sent saying order couldn't be taken due to a 'technical issue' with the restaurant. Called to order again and a dish from the bundle not available. Husband then waited half an hour, when we got the takeaway it was disappointing. Garlic bread burnt, food cold and my alternative pasta meal was slopped into a takeaway carton. No acknowledgement by Ask employees of the inconvenience caused. There are much better takeaways in Ashby where I will go next time!

After we had the complementary dough bites, I had the classic Stromboli Pizza. Wonderful dip served with the dough bites, and can never get enough of ASK's pizza. Service was pleasant and welcoming as always.

Me and my friend came for a lovely meal. All staff were lovely! A special mention to Amber who went above and beyond!

Had to send my food back 3 times before the correct and warm food came. My friend had to send hers back as it was so dry as they did not remake it and instead kept hers under the food lamp until mine was ready. Awful service. We waited 30 mins after we finished to have our food taken away and pay. Avoid

Me and my partner had a beautiful meal in this restaurant today and the food was lovely and was really tasty, drinks was good. The atmosphere was good and the Service from our waitress (Amber) was impeccable!! She was so polite and well mannered. Brought our food and drinks to us in no time and managed to answer any questions we had. So a massive thank you for making our experience in this restaurant pleasurable!! We definitely recommend this restauran!!

Decided to go as not been before. Greeted by friendly staff and shown to a table. The table was behind a trellis and being nosey asked to move to another table which was not a problem. Nice ambience, excellent service by Amber and team. Choose off the Christmas menu as reasonable priced and enjoyed it . Will visit again .

Initially said 21.40 came at 22.00 and by the time it came pizza, garlic bread and chips were cold and stale

Very expensive for what you get, food was average. Paid cash, but was told they couldn't give any change. Because they were "cashless" but I could still pay in cash...

Don't care if food quality is poor. Manager has really bad attitude. We will avoid in future.

We were well looked after by Liam who dimmed the lights near our table due to a LED light allergy. The food was good. No atmosphere due to constant stream of Just Eat/Deliveroo people in and out all evening. Candles on the table don't make the furniture look any better than an office rest room.

Had a lightish lunch - shared pizzas and salads, kids had their own from the kids menu. Service brisk, children's starter plates brought very quickly, food very enjoyable ! A quiet Sunday, so not a great atmosphere. We had no great expectations, but they were exceeded. Company lucky to have the staff they do in Ashby !

Waited ages for the food and it was terrible. The staff did not care and nobody came to aplologize us for the wait. Atmosphere was average. Will not come back.

There was no ham or salami in my sharing board

We had a 40th party for my daughter and nothing was to much trouble for the staff here...it made her night what a lovely place very welcoming..

Disappointed with the food which was generally tasteless and lacked any sauce (Lentil ragú and beef pasta). Courgette fritters were mainly small pieces of batter. Not much courgette unfortunately. Olives were the only highlight.

The butterfly king prawns were not entirely fresh, looked just about cooked (rather than "oven roasted"), tasted as if they sat in the kitchen for a few hours. Goats cheese salad was good

Our ordered arrived but 2 items were missing. We had to wait another 20 minutes for them to be delivered.

A chilled dining experience! The waitress’s polite and playful attitude, along with the manager’s humor, added to the atmosphere. The other staff members that we encountered offered a friendly and engaging service, which made our visit enjoyable. The complimentary lemonade shots were a nice gesture, and the food arrived in a timely manner.

Really disappointed tonight £30 per head I expect edible food , my pasta was so dry it felt rubbery and was definitely overcooked so disappointed I’ve ordered here before and had a fantastic meal I can’t rate tonight’s I’m sorry guys I have asked for a refund

Standard Italian chain eatery, does the job, quite pricey considering the typically small portion sizes (never understand why they don't chuck a load more pasta in the dish for how cheap pasta is and how much it would improve the meal satisfaction!).

Sadly our experience was below expectations, after an hour and half we had only been served with one round of drinks and our starter’s, the kitchen staff appeared to be over run with on line orders, and as a result we were neglected

Really tasty food and a great server however, the 'background' music was too loud and there was no finger bowl or wipes available after the shell on prawns

It was a fab night. Monica was lovely as always and Daniels cocktails were great.

Great night after a busy day ; Ask wasn’t too crowded when we went in at 8pm. The atmosphere was chilled and nice. The food was yummy - we shared a tomato and burrata salad (perhaps using beef tomatoes would have been best here), and a charcuterie board. All very tasty, but the mozzarellas were a little bland in my opinion. The pizza was huge but tasty. Globally everyone had a good night, we were well looked after by the patient staff.

Slow poor service...dirty tables around us just left for the duration of the evening. Drinks slow to arrive, no offer to pour wine when it arrived...just plonk it on the table. Starter of mushrooms was burnt. Ages to wait between courses. Food was very average and reminicent of Weatherspoons on a bad night. Oh dear.

Another excellent visit to ASK Ashby De La Zouch. The staff were great.
