Marco's New York Italian Kegworth in North West Leicestershire

I've been going for years on special occasions and it's been fantastic, everything you would expect however last time on a first date it couldn't have gone more wrong. We ordered two different steak based meals both cooked differently and with different sauces. When the meals arrived they had our the wrong sauces in the steak and they were also cooked the wrong way. The manageress and I had a conversation which led to an awkward situation. I asked for my dates to be as per the order and got told yours will then be cold I was expecting her to say we will take them back and replace but it turned into us both accepting what we had been given hence my first date was my last and I paid over £89:00 for that experience. Not a Marc Pierre moment at all. I've since took my business elsewhere. It's sad as I really did like it before that.

Booked a family meal for nine in a couple of weeks, after a great meal same time last year. An e-mail tonight, cancelling. Guess what? Closing to the public so that they can fill the hotel with visitors arriving by sea!

Lovely place to eat whilst staying in the hotel. Nice portions and excellent service and value for money. Unfortunately I believe it's closing for a renovation.

Think it's in decline to be honest, quality has gone quite downhill. 4 quid suppliment to swap cheese on a burger when it's only 1 quid to add it. Baked cheesecake that had been defrosted in the microwave and 9 quid for a calamari starter that was super greasy. It's a shame, seems to have gone downhill in the last 6 months so I don't know what's changed. I'll probably still use the hotel but drive elsewhere to eat.

Visited for lunch, very good food, service occasionally a little slow but staff very pleasant and courteous. Very nice atmosphere

Nice staff, food was well presented. I found it a little salty as I found the need to drink plenty of water afterwards. Would I go again? Yes. Would I rush to go back? No.

Great place. Could not fault any thing. Staff brilliant. Food brilliant. And the room was brilliant. Would recommend it to any body. Try it yourself you will not be disappointed.

We went Sunday evening as a treat The food was fabulous, unfortunately we were sat with all the construction personnel extremely loud.moving the furniture about shouting between themselves. We couldn't actually hear each other. & as we had spent almost £100. In what felt like no more than a cafe .very disappointed with our experience. The place is big enough to of sat them in a area &left them to it , And made our experience a pleasant one ... Won't be back ...if I wanted to eat in a cafe then I'd of gone to one ... Food was awful, we ate here two nights as part of our deal. The first night we had to send food back and the second night we got the wrong food and items missing. Would definitely not go here again. The only positive thing I can say is that the customer service was amazing. All the staff we interacted with were brilliant

Food wasn't nice, had to return items and also got our order wrong twice. Food wasn't what we expected for the place will not be returning. Customer service was excellent however . We stayed two nights and you have to pay for parking each night too which we weren't aware of.

Attended for a Christmas get together with family and friends, 6 covers, pre order from the set Christmas menu. Early evening music was way to loud preventing chat and we had to ask for it to be turned down. Thanks Calamari was cold and chewy, my main course was seafood linguini, totally bland, swimming in olive oil and parsley, no flavour or seafood that I could find, steaks were full of gristle, despite a pre order half the puddings brought out were wrong, tiramisu had sharp plastic pieces in it and the ice cream was of poor quality. Our 16 year old waitress was embarrassed and did all she could, bless her, such a sweet girl. We were given a drink each as compensation but the chef and restaurant manager were happy to send our waitress out again to make all their apologies rather then coming to see us in person. Pierre Marco White, you really should do better! Two stars given only for the lovely table service.

Staff and service is excellent but I found the food very dry (evening meals) and bland.

my youngest daughter had her hen party 27th, 28th, of Sept every welcome and friendly great staff sevcie good and the food lovely, we had room to ourselves and there was 10 of us good turn out and i had good night sleep the room was amazing you had everything you needed, what can i say about breakfast it was amazing lovely lay out and the chef friendly and helpful, just want to say thanku so much to the lady manager who look after us sorry forgot her name but she was amazing and team well recommend, i would go there again my daughter was treated like princess, she gets married 9th of Sept 2022 , I'm here mum who wrote this cant thank you enough A.DIXON

Great evening, Fantastic food and great attentive staff who always checked up on us to see if we needed anything, very well priced, all round great meal and evening spent.

Not actually that great if I'm honest. The place is okay, but nothing particularly special. The service was friendly but pretty slow. Lots of people seemingly ambling around yawning or bored. Had to remind the staff that I'd ordered a drink which came after fifteen minutes of ordering it. I don't think the prices are bad, but I don't think the food is particularly great either. You can certainly get much better food within 5 minutes of this place. Pizza was covered in oil which was fairly unappetising. My burger and chips was okay. I've had much better for the same price. Desserts were clearly bought in, and the tiramasu portion was woeful. Five spoonfuls for £7.50 feels like a bit of a rip off. Not an ounce of espresso or liquer flavour either, and the fudge cake felt very microwaved with rock hard ice cream on top. I appreciate this place is on the side of a hotel, and if I were a hotel guest with little idea of what else was available I'd go back in, but for me, this was a bit of a let down. Oh, I'm usually the first person to offer a tip, but the automatic 10% added on to the price is a bit cheeky. It should be up to me to reward good food and good service.

Lovely hotel, food is amazing however not much of a selection. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Swimming pool and spa facilities are also very relaxing.

I loved the great reception we received. They did a splendid job and gave our kids some colouring books to keep them busy as we waited for our reservation time. They currently have 2 great Autumn menus to choose from. The food was 5 star and yummy. The ambience in the place was just lovely and the waitresses were always on point with their customer care.

Lovely food for our 3 day stay , as it was a large group we had the 5,5,5 set menu for the evenings, but still enough selection for most people and breakfast so much choice everyone is catered for. Staff all lovely too.

The staff were pleasant but if you think you are going to get a gourmet meal of the quality that Marco would have produced in his hay day, you, like us, will be disappointed. It was formulaic standard grub (much of which I suspect was produced off-site). It was fine but totally over priced for what it was. Also the pictures of Marco looming down from several walls was just weird. All in all disappointing and I would recommend you find a good local pub instead.

Great hotel with good food, nice restaurant and awesome swimming pool

In a nutshell……I was relatively happy with the food and the experience, until I got the bill. The food was good, I’d class it as very good gastro pub food though, rather than high end restaurant food……but the price was as if it was high end restaurant food. Service was ok, but they do that annoying thing where they include service charge as part of the bill……pet hate of mine. I guess to sum it up, I’d say food was decent, but not decent enough to warrant the bill by any stretch of the imagination, and I left the establishment feeling slightly robbed!

Not amazing. Food was OK. Could of done the extra mile . Will not rush back . More described as over rated pub food . Disappointed really . Wish we had a better experience. The staff was good and venue was really well presented. Just food let it down .

What a great way to celebrate our nephews 18th! Family up North and down south, this was a fabulous venue for staying over together and having fun as a family. We met, had lunch played the Houdini escape room. A great first for 3 kids and 2 adults who loved it. But the most fabulous part was enjoying a delicious meal in the private dining part of Marcos. Have to say a big thank you to helen, zusanna and the team for brilliant service. We were made to feel so very special. Magnificent pizzas, seabass, pasta and beautifully presented desserts. Now to sleep it all off at the Yew Lodge Hotel just a small walk to bed! Thank you!

My wife and two children went here for lunch. I had a burger and my wife has carbonara. My little girl and the children burger and chips. We all enjoyed our meals and felt well looked after. The service we received from the waitress and people are great. Well worth the visit and would certainly return again.

Food pretty good and prices fair. Service was dreadfully slow though despite the restaurant being very quiet as we were eating early before a university graduation.

The environment was not so good, loads of men who don't know how to behave when they see a beautiful woman,then on the top of the bill the 10% on the service that you have to pay if no one lets you know, it's ridiculous they shoud let you know about that 10% ,the food is not bad but not top not even close,so too expensive overall,the service people were amazing with good mood and very sympathetic people

First time I've been here. Steak was great. Calamari starter was good but batter lacked any real flavour. Macaroni cheese side was superb. Friend's had pizza (which looked very good) and burger (which tasted excellent. Really enjoyed going. The only thing that would be better would be nicer music than the pop medley that was playing.

Marked up average ping and ding pub style food, £18 for a burger and small copper pan of arty farty pot of fries. Not a massive choice on the menu. Was disappointed that the £4 “crispy” onion rings were not much better than Tesco value, as they were the usual mushed onion paste in batter affair. Staff couldn’t be any more attentive though. Was dissatisfied that the “tip” was added to the bill automatically when the staff brought it to the table. That’s like me charging £500 to decorate a room then presenting the customer with a £550 bill with the tip included. Wtf??? Surely I decide if the staff warrant a tip. Nothing special. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t return

It's a shame when a fairly famous chef puts their name to a restaurant but doesn't make sure it comes up with the goods to justify it. Exceptionally poor choice on the menu, particularly for specialist diets, distinctly average to below average quality of food and meagre portions served at every course. I went for the Caprese salad to start; followed by the Chicken Milanese. The starter was absolutely tiny, even by starter standards. The main was literally a small fillet of chicken with a slightly larger side salad. It was attractively presented but should have at least had a choice of potatoes or something to justify it as a main course. No dessert was ordered as out of only six options provided on the menu, three were ice creams in various guises. Dined here as staying at the adjoining hotel but certainly wouldn't recommend or return. There is bound to be far better quality and value found elsewhere nearby.

Can't fault the staff, they were attentive and freindly. The same can't be said about the food. The starters were fantastic but the main was lacking.... The steak was like rubber and really chewy. The glasses were filthy when we arrived at our table and I had to ask to get them changed twice. Overall an average experience.

Food was good as expected, but the staff made it exceptional the service and interaction with my children made the visit.

Disappointing food experience. Service was good and staff friendly. Not much choice on draught beers/lagers. The restaurant was part of the hotel package stay we used, but after the food was disappointing, we would have preferred to use the local pub for food choice. Such a shame, as was looking forward to eating at the restaurant, to be disappointed.

Went here for the second night tonight of a 3 night stay for a spa package. The staff is absolutely lovely and the place is super clean. For that I would give 5 stars. Food however is another story. Whilst yesterdays Carbonara was delicious it was luke warm when it arrived but taste and texture were great. Pizza for lunch was lovely and fresh. Dinner tonight was hideous. Avocado Caesar salad. Ca. 5 leaves of salad, a few anchovies, cheese (plenty) ca. 1/8 of an Avocado, an egg and a very large number, as in more then a soup bowl full of very dry croutons with almost no dressing. That really took it to another level… nothing vaguely to do with a Caesar salad. From a Marco Pierre White restaurant I would not expect such a variability in food quality.

The menu was 60% burgers or pizza. Very disappointed. My partners steak wasn't big enough to feed my cat.

Gorgeous afternoon tea for me and the hubby! Scones were warm, sandwiches soft and yummy and the staff were so attentive. Thank you for making our date day perfect. It was truly lovely.

Firstly, the two members of staff were fantastic and could not be more helpful. As the four of us waited for our Laurent-Perrier Champagne we were given glasses of very pale 'fizz' with a raspberry. This was not any type of Champagne. There were odd tables with table cloths but these must have been for show which was a shame as there was only one other table in occupation that afternoon. The bread was cheap and tasteless with one slice of very thin beef or ham. We did ask for no horseradish and mustard to be told that they have excluded this anyway. No butter for the scones and I'm not sure it was clotted cream as quite whipped. We looked in the tea pot and it wasn't Tea Pigs Tea that was being served. The website advertisement does not give a true representation of what you get, however ending on a positive, car parking is excellent and the venue peaceful.

This was a get together with ex colleagues for the first time since the Pandemic struck in March 2020. We had all gone onto new pastures, so we wanted to get together in a relaxed environment, so that we could eat, drink and chat. The service was very good and the food, after starters was a mixture of pizzas and pasta. No room for dessert, and pizzas put into boxes to take away. The prices were very reasonable and I will definitely go back if I'm in the area. I've stayed at the Hotel before, but on this occasion made the mistake of staying at the Kegworth Hotel and Conference Centre a couple of minutes walk away. I won't make that mistake again. Went because of the name restaurant look alright as I'm a pescatarian which I rang ahead and informed them only to find they had no fish only crab fishcakes now who gonna come to a restaurant to eat fish cakes I've been to the one in the mail box and I would say 10out of 10 definitely

Poor ambience due to lots of business singles and small groups casual dining. Food has definitely improved since we visited about 2 years ago. Some menu items such as Carbona poor, claggy taste with lightly cooked streaky pancetta meaning there were pieces of uncooked fat. Burger was good. Pizza was excellent. Soft drinks very reasonable price. Good wine list staff friendly, knowledgeable about menu and efficient. Decor nice.

If Marco visited this place himself, he would rip his name off the place immediately, because i doubt he would want his name associated with such rubbish as spaghetti in Aldi tomato sauce with a few cherry tomatoes on top. Funnily enough i was scrolling the reviews and someone else also mentioned bland food with what appears to be supermarket sauce. We left half the amount in cash on the table and walked out. Never Again going to a MPW restaurant.

Food was horrible and way overpriced. I'm not even being funny but i could make a better dish at home. It was really bland, no seasoning, and just overall super basic from texture, flavour and presentation. It seemed like something a student in a house share who's on a budget would whip up in 5 mins.

We came for afternoon tea bought for us by our daughter and son in law.There was a lovely selection of fresh sandwiches,fresh warm home made scones with jam and cream.A selection of richer cakes(we took most home)Piping hot tea served in nice white crockery. The staff were all very pleasant and friendly.

Had a meal here Chicken jougon starter, filling. American burger very tasty. And chocolate brownie, warm and delicious. Waitress very friendly and kept coming to check if we were all good. Bit limited on cocktails. Prices reasonable. Good stuff, will go again.

Very disappointing food. I would not want my name on the front of this restaurant! The chicken milanese was like breaded chicken out of the freezer that you can put in the oven when you’re too lazy to cook. Very dry, no sauce or anything enjoyable to eat. Just very average fries and side salad. Had to have a mouthful of drink after each piece I ate. The garlic flat bread was oily and paper thin but the tiramisu was okay. It cost 2 people £98 to have an dismal meal thanks to their set menu (even if you only want 2 or 3 courses you pay for 5) and then to top it off a 10% self prescribed tip on the bill. We will not be returning which is a shame as the setting and the servers were fine.

I got an afternoon tea from groupon for £24.95 for 2 instead of £39.90 when we got there the price on the menu was £24.95. This is a total con for what was an average afternoon tea. I don't like being given false information 😒

Went for a Valentines day afternoon tea. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the food was very good. This is a very nice hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. There is ample parking in a large car at the front of the building and easy wheel chair access.

Called in for lunch without a reservation. We had garlic pizza bread and calamari to share between 3 for starters. The mains were spaghetti bolognese, American hot pizza and chicken burger with cajun fries. Excellent service. Food good but not outstanding. Would return without hesitation when next in the area. The afternoon tea looked nice

It's a shame we visited this when it was rebranded and it was smart. It's tied now we were ungraded but 2 small bottle of water between 2 of us cracked sink and no robe in the room. Spa also dated rust on showers. I showered after being in the pool and as soon as someone else put a shower on mine stopped. No bar snacks offered either. It's a shame...

We had the afternoon tea it was beautiful lovely relaxing restaurant waitress couldn’t do enough for us the food was amazing absolutely wouldn’t change anything definitely worth a visit will being going back

The staff are great. The facility is ok. However, the food is uninspiring and very average for the price. The steaks are not great. The lasagne not as good as Marks and Spencers "Finest" range. The Mrs Whites Tiramisu is not as good as Tesco cheap range!

Lovely food great atmosphere stunning pizzas

First time visit an afternoon tea treat via my daughter. It was so enjoyable. Nice atmosphere, the girls waiting on were very friendly & helpful. Really enjoyed the tea, plenty to eat & went nicely with a glass of prosecco. We have already booked to go on Valentine's Day & are looking forward to it. Highly recommended 👍🍷

Good location, small car park, friendly team, very nice food and good range of drinks. Reasonably priced for the quality. Would certainly recommend and we will be returning. Nice change from the Nottingham branch.

Amazing food!!!! Had a Garlic pizza bread as a starter brought with the main - different style of garlic bread, but enjoyed thoroughly. For mains we had a Chicken fillet burger with a brioche bun 3 breaded chicken fillets for 1 burger, "best burger" the Mrs has "ever had!" - served with chips and a side of Onion rings battered, great flavour and a nice crisp batter to boot. I ate the Linguine Milanese with a breaded chicken fillet - out of this world - not eaten anything this tasty since Nonna passed 20 years ago. Well worth a journey for some great tasting food or if you're staying at the Best Western Hotel Kegworth, then definitely worth booking a table for a great dining experience with great service. 5 *'s all day long.

I visited here with my mum as a treat for Christmas,along with my sisters ..we had booked for afternoon tea,and by all means I'm not saying it wasn't nice,it was very fresh ( the food)but its December,its the build up to Christmas but by far there was absolutely nothing christmassy about the ambience of the restaurant( yes a few trees around which were beautiful),no music,no little tweak of decoration on the table and I would of thought a little bit of better presentation on the food would of been nice,it was all abit dull..there was no table check from our waitress who seated us,no refill of any drinks..it really put a dampner on the afternoon,I did mentioned to the lady who took our payment re no music,and didn't say much..I really expected it to be abit more of a better atmosphere as visited before and was lovely..in all its just the finishing touches, the voiles curtains could also do with a good iron as was very shabby.. I hope my reveiw can be rectified for you to take on board.

4 of us ate here, two of my friends had pizza. Which didn’t look too bad although the bolognese pizza could have had more toppings on! Hardly any bolognese. I had fillet steak asked for it medium rare but unfortunately it arrived at least medium to well. So with a fillet steak this unfortunately made it dry. I also couldn’t get the attention of any of the waiters (one had an awful cold and was sniffling all of the time) so I plodded on and ate the dry steak. The sweet potato fries however were nice. We skipped on desserts due to the lack of service and the quality of the main meals.

An absolutely fantastic afternoon Tea delivered to our table by excellent and very courteous staff and a second pot of Tea and Coffee when required. Lovely ambience in the restaurant I can't praise it enough, we will be visiting again 👏
