When Hiking the Cross Britain Way for charity we called in for a few beers (4) when I asked if I could charge my power bank. I was told no. Very disappointing

Good decent 'real' pub in a village where food led pubs seem to rule. Nice live sports, well run and efficient service. Beer range it's all HUK, shame then no Brixton or Cruz surprisingly but did have Neck Oil (like everywhere does now..). A decent pub with nice folk

I only had a quick drink here, but couldn't fault the place. Decent amount of outdoor seating, and also catered for dogs with bowls and water. I was surprised how quiet it was though for a mid-afternoon on a Saturday. Hope that was an isolated case though as a good place to visit.

We live in the village anyway and just couldn't resist the 'Three Courses for £12' offer on Tuesday evenings. Obviously we want the village pubs to survive these difficult times, so it was a pleasure to help out.So at £12 for three courses it was just brilliant. A good choice of 4-5 starters, main courses and deserts and there was something for everyone. I had calamari to start (superb), cheeseburger for mains (superb) and chocolate brownie & ice cream for desert (also superb) - so at £12 how could you go wrong? We felt guilty being cheapskates by eating so cheap, so we made up for it with our beer and wine consumption (it's called drink a load to help out)...Anyway, the service was excellent, staff were superbly polite, all Covid measures were in place and being adhered to without being intrusive, so what's not to like?So well done all at the 3C's. Challenging times ahead as Charnwood moves into Tier 2, but with service and value like this you should be packed out. Thanks

First time out to eat since lockdown in March. Booked after reading review in local newspaper. Easy to book online. Reasonable welcome. Good social distances set up. First disappoint plastic tulips on table. Come on its August in the country. A few fresh flowers or nothing. Food very average, starter Calamari rubbery, main course very salty, for the dessert I'd have thought it would have been fresh blueberries as in season. What I had for the money was good on the eat out scheme. However I wouldn't have wanted to pay the full price.

Met up with my Daughter and her Partner whom have just moved into the Village. The brunch was served from 12.30-4.30. INice welcome from Landlord and he showed us to table. I thought the New Years Day menu was great and written by somebody who knows what people want Day after a big day out!We had Burgers that were lovely and it had Pate and chile on it served with Skin fries. My Wife had a bacon, Brie and Cranberry sandwich with fries. My daughter had a crispy chicken sandwich with fries. Food was prompt and very tasty . The lagers were Heineken Range so Amstel and they also had Estrella on. We had the 2 x Xmas ales that were on they were great and my daughter was happy with her House Red choice. We saved room for dessert which was homemade flapjack, bread and butter pudding, and salted caramel tart. All very good. They also have Bt as well as sky and as s Leicester fan the game was on but they didn’t have it on loud for people whom weren’t Interested. In Summary Friendly landlord @ Staff, good drink selection, good food at reasonable prices. I've long been meaning to have a meal at this pub, since it became part of the Cat & Wickets franchise. The Three Crowns has been wonderfully rejuvenated; it has been well refurbished, without losing its essence. The pub was very clean too, with a flood-lit car-park.The barman on duty (evening of 13 Nov 2019) was welcoming and friendly, I note he had a good rapport with the regulars too. I was able to order both my meal and drink at the bar. I chose the scampi, which was the nicest scampi I've had in a long time at a pub, succulent and substantial. The salad wasn't overly garnished, the chips were tidily presented in a little mesh basket. I'm pleased to report food was served on a proper ceramic plate; a neat touch was the plate was oval shape, with an ornate fish head and scales design on it. A very enjoyable meal and place to eat. If you're passing through Wymeswold, I'd recommend it.

We booked a 7:30pm table, were seated on time but asked to order more drinks whilst the kitchen ‘got themselves sorted’. Half an hour later after our prompting a surly waitress took our food order. Pie night! Not a problem as we were happy to order pies and the few other menu items still available. Only two portions of steak pie left! We were a party of six. We managed to reselect items to be told that the pie was a minimum of thirty minutes. So when our food arrived we’d been there seated and hungry for an eternity.Surly staff, one lady looked particularly exhausted and disinterested. No banter, conversation and no smiles. To top it all the our pies were served upside down as the tops were burned to a crisp. Mash potato and swede mash. Very bland plate with No colourful vegetables, poor quite frankly experience was a disappointing evening. Tiny pud servings which were excruciatingly expensive A village pub which has over reached itself. We’re local but not coming back.
