The Bay Tree Cafe in Charnwood

Have reviewed here before but wanted to point out that the pancakes in the dessert section of the menu can be had for breakfast! It's one giant pancake rather than multiple smaller ones. I opted to add bacon and pay extra instead of having ice cream and it worked well.

Really busy on a Saturday morning but still really quick service. Food is fantastic, cannot complain, will be returning. They do egg and bacon muffins which aren't on the main menu but definitely recommend.

Wow! Thought we were stopping off for a quick coffee as we were just in the area. There didn't seem to be much choice on a midweek lunchtime, so we ventured into this cafe. Just off the High Street next to a Poundstore, it didn't seem the likeliest place for a nice lunch out... I was wrong! The welcome was friendly and we were soon perusing the menu. We ordered burgers, which were delicious as well as being huge, great coffees and we couldn't resist taking home strawberry tarts for tea. Busy, friendly and good value.

Exceptional breakfast! Everything was hot and delicious, I love that they serve hash browns which many cafes do not. Also allow swaps for items. Hot chocolate was fantastic. Will definitely return.

By chance we went in there twice one day and enjoyed it both times . The second time we ate there and found the food served speedily and well presented .Our waitress was the same both times and she was very nice and engaged well in conversation with us. Will definitely go again. 31st October 2022 at lunchtime.

I have been visiting The Baytree for a while now and have always had great food there. The cakes are delicious, and the customer service is great. Lovely family run business 😘

Disappointing. Ordered Omelette big raw chunks of onion very poor. Don’t think Omelette was cooked enough. Tinned peas. Small portion of chips not cooked enough. Coffee was nice!

Lovely cafe, really clean and nicely decorated. Staff are all friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good, will return!

This cafe has stayed open for takeaway throughout the lockdown, every day. Really appreciated for hot drinks, hot cobs/muffins etc.

I've eaten here numerous times when out for a shop in Syston. It's reliably good. Service is friendly and quick. There is a varied menu of hot and cold meals - ranging from traditional sandwiches like BLTs to lasagna. Coffee and teas are good. There's a good selection of cold drinks as well. Desserts here are both unusual and scrumptious - they make especially creative versions of cheesecake. Cheese and sweet scones are also very nice. Prices are very reasonable. This cafe offers indoor and outdoor seating, and it has reasonable Covid safety measures in place to protect customers and staff. My lunch was 50% off because they are participating in the government's eat-out scheme at the moment.

Delicious food, lots of space, nice interior. Staff could do with a smile on their face though, this would definitely elevate it.

Visited for a lunchtime snack. Very busy and warm welcome from team, helpfully rearranging tables for our group. Wide range of food and all we had was of very good quality and excellent value for money. A good find!

Often meet with friends in this local cafe. Always served with a smile. Good selection of sweet and savoury to choose from. Very clean. Only potential problem is that the toilets are up steep stairs - not a problem to me but could be for others. Recommended.

Food was ok. My daughter has a broken leg & needed the loo at this cafe. The staff saw my husband struggle to get her there. They watched him & didn’t say a word about the flight of stairs nor did they offer to help. Very bad customer service!!!

Visited here for a family birthday breakfast on a Sunday and managed to park in the few spaces available outside Syston Fish Bar. The place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside! The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the (counter) service extremely quick. There were a good range of things on the menu and plenty of options for kids. The full English breakfast was really good quality and worth the price - in fact everything looked reasonably priced.If I was being ultra-critical, the sign on the door says "Free Wi-Fi" but in actual fact this is only true if you are a BT Broadband customer.However, we will definitely be visiting again soon!

Had such a lovely experience visiting the Bay Tree cafe! Lovely staff, Gorgeous cakes and fabulous coffe. Will definitely be going back.

This a great little spot to have drinks,sandwiches,cakes,lunches etc.It is attractively furnished & you can also sit outside,good service,food & prices!

Feeling cold and tired but in need of a sit down and cuppa whilst in Syston recently we came upon The Bay Tree and tempted by their offers displayed on the window and sandwich board decided to 'give it a try'. What a very welcome find it turned out to be. The menu was excellent and prices were very reasonable. Although the place appeared to be full we found an empty table and were very tempted by the offerings on the menu. We had a pot of tea for two, cheese toastie with salad garnish and a large bowl of delicious tomato soup with brown brown and butter all for less than £10,50. The orders are taken at the counter but having placed our order the service was very quick. Everything was well presented and HOT. No health and safety tepid tea and soup. The atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were friendly and efficient. It will not be too long before we 'give it another try' as we were so impressed.

Walked in having read an offer board. They do tea/coffee with cake for £3.50 after 3.00pm. Opted for this so I got a Bailey's cake with tea, partner had carrot cake with tea, daughter had a Maltesers shake with choc brownie and son had a bowl of chips. Cake slices were generous in size and tasted yummy. Food was brought to the table and the service came with a smile. Would definitely go back when around the area again.

Regular Friday lunch treat. Popular little cafe. Great menu. The prawn salad is delicious. As is the omelette my husband likes. Friendly staff. Good quality food at a very reasonable price. Love it.

my friend and i are regulars at this place. there is one waitress that knows when we order tea for 2 to bring 4 sweeteners and 4 sugars. they pay attention to detail too and the food is nicely presented. lovely breakfast/lunch cafe.
