Rossini Italian Restaurant in Mansfield

So after visiting a few times, loving the genuine Italian food, went for my surprise 60th birthday, BIG EXPENSIVE MISTAKE, rude staff ‘chef read the order wrong’ (their excuse for my starter coming out after everyone else had finished theirs and same excuse when mums main came out the same!!! Went to tell them the toilets were a mess and when I said ‘excuse me’ was greeted with ‘what’ no good evening, happy birthday nothing, was made to feel like we were a nuisance being there, will not be going back in a hurry, messaged them on messenger to say hope it was just a ‘blip’ but haven’t had a response, no apology, nothing, I’m guessing the girl who was running the show is also the one that monitors messenger!! Hope so cos hiding it hasn’t worked has it!! The night was a shambles - sort your staff out!!

Visited Rossini restaurant last evening 22nd November. A table for six friends together. What a wonderful experience. The 3 young ladies serving us where very attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely excellent, all served at the same time. Absolutely 5 star. Strongly recommend. We will be back very soon.

Met with my best friend for a meal to celebrate my birthday and booked a table for early evening. We were made to feel very welcome and shown to a nice table near the back of the restaurant. Although it was only 6pm, within the hour, most of the tables were taken. You can bring your own wine for a small corkage fee. The menu choice is really good without being overwhelming, ranging from pasta and pizza to fish and steak. The prices are also very reasonable. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We shared a starter, then I had a risotto and my friend had a lasagne. We also decided to have a dessert and again, the choice was really good and there was something for every dietary requirement. Would highly recommend this lovely restaurant but would suggest booking a table in advance.

As a visitor to the lovely village of Wood house, my sister and I decided to go and try the famous Rossini restaurant (my sis had already eaten there previously). We were given a wonderful welcome by Dan and Gabbi, who were pleasant, informative and timely with the service, the restaurant is very clean, spacious seating (although the actual size is petite, we didn't feel cramped), the room is adequately lit with soft background music, the energy in the room was good. The prices are reasonable and the menu choice was enough and varied (I'm not one who likes too much on a menu). Now for the 'La parte migliore dell'esperienza' (best part of the experience)... The food was delicious, it was hot, seasoned, tasty and came as ordered, cooked with the intention to please, and it did!, generous amounts, well worth the money. We were warned about the hot crockery and we are thankful, who wants to burn themselves?.... Exactly (thanks Dan and Gabbi). The whole experience was a definite positive and we will be visiting again and we highly recommend you go and see for yourself...

Food was amazing, let down by the lack of management and poor training of the young staff. We was a party of 8 dining at 8pm. The young waiter/waitresses were rude and didn’t want to do anything except gossip and play with their hair. We had to ask to be served drinks/order food numerous times. If it wasn’t for the amazing food I would of got up and left as they made us feel very uncomfortable. They made very snarky remarks if we tried to make a joke. Won’t be returning unless an actual manager over the age of 16 is present.

We visited here a few years ago and had such a lovely time that my step dad decided he would like to revisit for his birthday meal this year. We were a party of 15. Last time we attended it was a bring your own drink policy without any specification as to what you were allowed to bring. So, we all brought our own drinks with us - wine, gin, soft drink and beer. When we arrived a couple of our party opened their drink (gin and a beer) and were very rudely told “you can’t drink that in here.” When questioned about the bring your own drink policy they were told that it’s now only wine and Prosecco that you’re able to bring. I have no issue with the information we were given but the tone was unbelievably rude and totally unnecessary. If we’d have been told “I’m really sorry but the policy has changed etc…” then hair enough, but there was no nicety about it. Nonetheless, as the drink had been opened, my step dad was told that he could finish that drink and then buy any further ones, which seemed fine. The lady who opened the gin said she would buy a lemonade to be able to drink the drink she’d poured and then again, buy any future alcoholic drinks. Within a few minutes another member of staff came over and said to my step dad, “you’ve already been told you can’t drink that in here.” My step dad explained that he had been told he could finish his drink (that he’d poured), but if the waiter wanted to take the rest of the can away, he could, which he did. The rest of the evening felt somewhat awkward. At times we knew we were being watched to make sure we weren’t drinking anymore of our own drinks (fair enough). But generally the customer service was poor - I’d go as far to say probably the worst I have ever experienced. When meals were brought out the attitude of staff was abrasive “don’t touch the top of that it’s hot” and when placing someone’s meal on the table who sat at the other side, instructing one of the party “you’ll have to slide that over.” There was nothing pleasant about the demeanour of the staff at all. On asking for the bill, 50p had been added as a cost of my step dad opening his own beer. When this was questioned we were told that the policy had changed so they had to charge him for it. There was no information online to state that the policy had changed, or to specify what you can and cannot bring (there was also nothing mentioned in communications with the restaurant during our preorder) and the menu online was out of date. The food was absolutely beautiful but the rest of it ruined what should have been a lovely evening and we would absolutely not return. The only reason I haven’t given it 1 out of 5 is because the food was lovely.

First time eating here and can say we will be returning. The staff where polite and obliging. Friends have recommended here so many times, and everything they have said is true. Great place,friendly staff, amazing food . 5🌟

Really disappointed. We booked 1 day in advance a table that both me and my partner were comfortable with, as the evening was a very special occasion. When we arrived on the day they tried to sit us infront of the door and were told that we couldn't have the table we had been promised over 24 hours before. The waitress asked us who did we speak with when we booked because it wasnt her.. we couldn't see the relevance of us being asked that and they werent prepared to honor our booking. We decided to leave, will not be coming here again.

9 of us ate out for a family celebration - every one of us had a fantastic meal and experience. Really authentic food (and waiters!) and we could not fault a thing. We absolutely will be back and are just sorry we have waited this long to realise what a gem this is

We went on Wednesday night so there was only 2 tables in the restaurant so didn’t have any of the issues of noise like others have said. The service was great. The food was exceptional, complete fresh and authentic. Would definitely recommend Rossinis to anybody.

Rossini is really accommodating to large groups. Food is delicious and staff go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. You are guaranteed an excellent meal whenever you visit.

Struggled to get a booking so thought this restaurant was good, excellent from start to finish, enjoyed gin and tonics to start, we took our own wine and that incurred a £1:50 corkage , no problem, all the food and service was first class, looking forward to another visit very soon.

My wife and I visited Rossini's yesterday to celebrate 21 years since our first date and had a fantastic meal. The service was very friendly and attentive even though it was quite busy. They allow you to take your own wine and charge a small corkage fee. I loved that you could choose to have a smaller portion of one of the main meals as a starter. I chose lasagne for my starter, I think I'll go for it as a main next time. My wife had garlic mushrooms, something I don't normally go for, but they were delicious. One thing to note is that you need to order sides to go with your main meals.

Several of us meet up on a regular basis for a meal at different restaurants, Rossini's has become one of our favourites. The meal last night was very good as was the service, the girls are really friendly and polite. I look forward to my next visit.

We had another lovely meal at Rossini’s last Sunday evening we always get a warm welcome and the food was great. The fillet steak was cooked to perfection. The service is very good and adds to a great relaxed dinning experience. This is a great little restaurant and well worth a visit.

My partner and I moved from London to Mansfield three years ago. We've tried many pubs and restaurants in the area and decided to try Rossini for the first time last night. My partner had something with chicken, which he said was excellent. I had the salmon with pasta. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! It was absolutely delicious. We'll certainly be going again, on a regular basis, AND you can take your own wine!!!

We visited Rossini with family, what a great night has by all. The food never disappoints and the service was great. The staff work so hard and are always polite. I would highly recommend this restaurant and we will be back.

Booked a table for 4 at 7pm and arrived at 7pm promptly, was told which table was ours and we sat down. 20 minutes pass by and we haven’t even been acknowledged by the waiter, no menus had been given or a drinks order taken. At this point we decided to leave and head else where.

This little gem has become a regular place to eat for us. The food is fantastic, really well cooked and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended - have to stop myself going more often than we do!

Great food, great staff, very reasonable price. All dishes we near on perfection. Had the Pollo crema twice now, just as good the second time. Vegetable side dishes aren’t the usual soggy and flavourless type, they are perfectly cooked and actually add to the meal. Best tiramisu ever! Never fails to impress! You can take your own wine, however the 1ltr house red is cheap enough and tastes pretty good. Make sure to book on a weekend!

Second visit and both were soooooo good. A small wait while fresh food is cooked but really worth it. The staff are so busy but so polite and helpful. This is so going to be a regular place to go.

I visit Rossini with my Sister quite regularly & have always found the food to be superb. We were served by the lovely Mia, who is always friendly & very helpful, makes eating there so special. Many thanks to the Chef who cooks beautifully presented delicious food, freshly cooked to order.

We visited Rossini on 1st September, and we had a lovely evening. Ellen and Maya were polite and friendly. The food was excellent, you are spoilt for choice. We had two of the pasta dishes as starters as well as a garlic bread. Our mains were both chicken dishes, Pollo Creama & Pollo Sciliana were delicious. We couldn't fit in a desert but had a Tia Maria coffee. We will be pack and we recommend this restaurant.

What a lovely surprise this little restaurant is. The food was hot, fresh and delicious the young waitress (MIA) I think was her name. was very helpful even though it was busy. We have just been to Rossini in Mansfield Woodhouse to celebrate Mums 84th birthday. The Restaurant was Mums pick as have been earlier in year. Had a truly fantastic night, not only was the food of a high quality but our Waitress Elena was second to none. Nothing too much trouble and looked after our every need, very much a credit to the Restaurant.

The food was absolutely beautiful when it eventually arrived. We had a table for two booked for 6 pm. We had to ask the waiter for the menu after waiting for a while. There was only one member of staff all evening which was not enough for a full restaurant. We had a long wait between courses but each course was delicious so worth waiting for. We didn't bother with coffee or a desert as we would have been there all night! We love going to Rossinis and this is the first time we have written a negative review. They certainly need more staff for this lovely, popular restaurant or people won't visit.

We went as a large party (13) on a Saturday night. Food was pre-ordered, so there was no excuse for our two and quarter hour wait for the main courses to come out.

We had a gorgeous meal last night with our friends, the service was excellent and the staff were really friendly. At the end of our meal the waitress bought us a lovely fresh fruit platter 'on the house.' It is great that you can bring your own wine, this certainly makes it for a more affordable evening.

We have visited this restaurant plenty of times now and every single time the food is amazing. We've never had a bad meal here yet and I would highly recommend to anyone. The staff are very good too. I been in Rossini last night with my family for first time . Is a small corner restaurant situate in Woodhouse Mansfield, as family, me and my littele sister have it a beautiful Ravioli dish as starter, my dad and grandmother they got some mushrooms with prawns cover it with some chesse ( that been such a difference and good dish ) and for second I got a beautiful steak Braccio and the vegetables what they come with steak been hot witg such a good flavour , . And the surprise been a plate of fruits from the house I mean how good is that ?! We love this restaurant and it is so conveniently situated. The menu is huge and every meal we’ve had has been top class. Prices are reasonable. I think this is the nicest Italian I’ve ever been in, honestly. I recommend the mushroom and truffle oil pasta, it’s delicious. Staff are friendly but service can be very slow once the restaurant gets busy. This does not however detract from the food as it’s stunning! Recommended for sure!

The food was delicious and enjoyed by all 9 of us and the restaurant has a great atmosphere however it does get noisy as the evening goes on. The service was very efficient and the staff welcoming and friendly. It is still a BYO but you can also order drinks at the bar. A great place to go.

Rossini is a superb little restaurant tucked away on a corner in Mansfield Woodhouse ... It has such a nice friendly atmosphere, relaxed and welcoming.

We visited Rossini for a second time last night this is a great little restaurant with a good atmosphere and great food. Service was good and staff helpful we will certainly be back.

I went here last night as a party of 25. The meal choices had been taken in the previous week both for starters and mains. The meal was booked for 7.30pm but it was 8.15pm before the starters started to be served. We weren't in a rush so it didn't matter. I had a seafood platter to share - whitebait, calamari, prawns and mussels - which was absolutely delicious. For mains I had the seafood risotto which was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Some people were served their mains and were kept waiting quite a while for their accompanying vegetables. We had to ask for parmesan which I thought they would have automatically brought to the table as quite a lot had pasta. For desert I had the lemon tart which was lovely. I cannot fault the food but the service could have been better. You are able to take your own wine but the place does serve other drinks. I took wine but asked for a bottle of water which was not cold. So, I asked the waitress to fill my glass with ice but when she brought the glass back there were about 4 cubes in the bottom!! The place was extremely hot and rather uncomfortable. The door was open but it appears that the windows do not open. They did have one fan working but it did nothing towards cooling the place down.

Not a great experience to be honest. We booked the table 12 people well in advance of the meal for 14th july. We arrived at 7.50 and friends were there before us. The meal was booked for 8.00p.m.we were served drinks in a reasonable time but 40minutes passed and we hadnt received our starters. We thought that we would have been served pretty quick as we had taken deposits and meal choices to the restaurant the previous week...This was at the request of the restaurant. Three tables with 4 people on each were filled after we came in and they were served with their starters and main courses before we receive our starters. After a while they ran out of a particular beer,then within 15minutes the other pump ran out. After 45miutes we eventually received our starters . Time went by and at 9.40pm I asked a waitress where our food was as we had been waiting the best part of 2 hours for our meal and others had already been served? At this point a woman appeared and moved the waitress out of the way . I presume she was in charge.....By her attitude I would have said in charge of a broomstick. I explained to her about the waiting time and her reply was "don't cause a scene with me,you've only been waiting an hour and a half" as though that's acceptable. I said that we made the effort to bring the deposit in with meal choices and a meal booked for 8.00pm and still waiting at 9.40pm. totally disgusting attitude on her part. If she had apologised earlier for the delay or offered a drink due to to long wait that would have been great service, but instead I was addressed by a rude..Ignorant person whose had no customer service skills at all. The food was good when it arrived and I told her this but she is definitely no-good in front of house..Well only on Halloween night. It should have been a birthday celebration but turned into an awful experience...We will never return here

Couldn’t fault it, lovely food and great service. Two of us had the goats cheese bruschetta starter which was amazing and two different chicken dishes and steak with Gorgonzola for mains.

This was my first visit. Excellent service. Great value for money. Adapted menu for our likes. Will be again for sure.

We ate here on Saturday night with friends and the food was really good, very tasty and nicely presented. It was busy and very hot despite sitting next to the open door - they definitely need ceiling fans or air con as we had to use the napkins to blot our faces etc but it did not spoil the food experience. The mixed seafood starter for 2 to share was excellent as was the mushroom in tomato and garlic sauce. The chicken in red wine and olive sauce was good too. We took our own prosecco but the gents ordered beer from the bar which was expensive and cost over £20 for the 6 half pint glasses that they had between them during the course of the meal. All in all a lovely meal and we will return, hopefully they may have resolved the issue regarding the heat by then and have ceiling fans as unfortunately the windows do not open

Have visited this restaurant on many occasions now and have never been disappointed. The food is consistently excellent the restaurant and staff are very pleasant and the service is always good. Very highly recommended. Being able to bring your own wine makes the value outstanding.

6 of us went for a family meal last Saturday. It was very busy and we had to wait a little while for the food, but it was well worth the wait. They cater for gluten free diets, and everything was fresh and delicious.

Come on guys, you’re an Italian restaurant how about some nice crusty, hearty bread. Other than that, the pasta was delicious so will definitely visit again....but serve decent bread if you’re charging for it!!!

We visited for a meal, had never heard of the restaurant before, had goats cheese bruschetta and seafood tagliatelle, the food was some of the best I have had in a long time, you can take your own drink aswell which makes the price very cheap for that amazing quality of food, well done

This was the first time we had visited this restaurant and were looking forward to it. Parking can be a problem as there isn't any, so we had to park down a side road approx 1/4 mile from the restaurant.

Went last night for a birthday meal and we were not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and were not put out by some of our party arriving late due to the weather. It was a little loud at times due to a large party but it didn’t spoil our evening.
