Very nice rooms giving me the IKEA vibe. Clean. Nice pub with a pool table, big screens and a great variety of ale's. Despite being in a separate building behind the pub it was super quiet even with a match on and the crowds. Parking One issue was the parking though. Had to use a council car park and somehow the app wasn't working. I tried to pay via the website and got spammed!! Avoid any websites. If the app doesn't work you'd have to walk to the pay point again after 6pm if you want to stay after 8am and not get out of bed early but it's possible to pay contactless that way at the machine. Also, there are two days in the week where that car park is closed for the morning market from like 5am.

Apart from serving ale until 1am on a Monday evening/Tuesday morning & having a great range of beers, wines, spirits & soft drinks, it has a fantastic juke box. You don't find too many nowadays & some are skewed towards more modern music (rap with a silent c, for example 😉) but this is a great juke box. You can still play the more modern stuff, but my buddy & I played a mix of rock, punk rock & folk punk that at least 3 of the other drinkers loved! Great place, even better with a wise choice on the jukebox 😁👍

Had a lovely stay. The room was super clean and modern. The staff were so friendly helpful and efficient. You had control for the heating in the room. Sky TV sports and movie too. Quiet room, comfy bed. The cooked breakfast was delicious and well cooked we couldn't fault our stay. We were lucky to park 2 mins away in one of the back streets but there is a payable car park so close by. Excellent location, very close to town and would definitely return and recommend.

I had a very nice night in Buxton and booked the accessible room at the queens head Hotel. It was a nice room, with sky TV, a fan and hair dryer to use if needed and an alarm clock, which I haven't seen often. Nice a quiet, fuss free booking and service. Staff were polite and helpful too. Also I had breakfast too which was great value for money and one of the best full English breakfasts at any other place I've stayed. And you can also choose to have it in your room or in the pub section with other guests. Will definitely stay here again if I'm there. Thanks

Called in for a drink whole visiting Buxton, ended up spending the whole evening there! Super beer and live music, a great night!

The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom with shower was ideal and room in general was very good The pub has a good selection of beers and lagers. The staff are friendly and helpful . You are about 10 min walk to the town centre.

We enjoyed our stay here. We had an upstairs room in the old stable block. Although the pub was very busy, we could not hear it in our room. Breakfast was cereal plus a full english. You could ask for the type of egg you want and avoid items if you want. Convenient for the sites of Buxton and a reasonable price.

Very helpful staff, who following a phone call said they would make space for us to park our bikes onsite overnight. Spoke to another member of staff just before we went who was also really helpful. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds and a decent shower. There was a band in the pub the night we stayed who were really good, so we watched them and didn't find out whether the noise was noticable in the rooms. As the rooms are out the back of the hotel, I suspect you wouldn't notice any noise once in the room. We needed to be away early the next day, so didn't have breakfast there. We will be going back.

Right in the heart of Buxton, very clean and comfortable rooms! Great stay!

Group booking, 5 rooms. All of us pleased with the cleanliness and service of our rooms. Not big rooms, but looked recently refurbished. Breakfast was good. A very very busy pub on a Friday and Saturday, but no noise disturbance. Managed to park in side street's behind pub. 10 min walk to centre of Buxton. But more than enough shop's, cafés, takeaways and restaurants very near by.

We spent an evening at the Queens recently, fabulous atmosphere, great friendly staff, the live band ( Blues Train) was amazing, will definitely be going there again on our next visit to Buxton, thanks for a great time .

Lovely room, very clean, comfortable bed. Even tho they had a live band on we heard no noise. Breakfast was lovely, Hannah was a fantastic breakfast host. Many thanks Louise & Ian Drew.

Had the best night out in 20 years an absolute gem of a pub

What a great Saturday night we had. It was like going back when a pub was a pub and people had a good time. Absolutely packed out. Great live entertainment.

Great place to stay. Rooms very well appointed. Very clean. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Great pub. And rooms are in new area behind pub, so no noise. I'll be back. Ivor from Dublin.
