We traveled two hours from Nottingham to try Sushi Kaji in Shrewsbury, and it was absolutely worth every mile. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Every dish we ordered was unbelievably delicious, fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic flavors. Even my 7-year-old brother, who can be a picky eater, absolutely loved his food. That says a lot about the quality and taste of their sushi. It’s rare to find a place that delivers both quality and authenticity, but Sushi Kaji does it perfectly. If you're a sushi lover (or even if you’re new to it), this place is 100% worth the trip. We’ll definitely be coming back 👌🏼

This small remote Inn is quite a rarity in this area, by being still open. The interior is quite compact, with limited space. Further seating available outside for finer weather. If eating advance booking is advisable. Menu quite varied and generally good value. The Sunday roast dinner is really good value. Pies microwaved with soggy pastry on one's sampled. Good choice of beers on offer, with three on hand pumps when visited. Well worth a visit, handy for walkers on main valley path between Hartington and 'The Dragon's Back' of Parkhouse and Chrome Hill.

Love the new decor since our last visit and the log burner made it really cosy on a cold winter evening. Good and varied menu, food was all very nicely presented and tasty included starters , lamb and fish mains and dessert. Service was good. A Thoroughly enjoyable evening , couldn't fault it!

We typically stop at Sylvie’s for a couple of bacon & egg baps (good old British “brunch”) and the food is always perfect. My wife likes her eggs with a hard yolk, but here 5hey are always JUST hard. In fact not far from perfect. Service is also always friendly. Hard to beat

Passing through Buxton and just spotted so called in. Looks nice inside and friendly ladies and plenty to choose from. Asked for any recommendations and was suggested a BLT with added Chicken in a hoagie, 😋 this was beautiful and will definitely be going back next time I’m passing through

What an absolute find this lovely restaurant was on our recent trip to Buxton. All the staff were super friendly and attentive and although the menu doesn't have extensive vegetarian options for the main course, we could have happily chosen any of the options that were available as they all sounded lovely. We both chose the Tagliatelle Rosso which was absolutely delicious and a very authentic dish. For dessert I chose the Tiramisu which is always a bit risky as you never know how authentic or homemade it's going to be.... I have to say, this Tiramisu did not disappoint, it was amazing, tasted just like my Mama's (who is Italian) Full credit and compliments to Eddie who made it so well! We will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend.

Fun atmosphere with attentive staff and great tasting food. Group had a variety of different steaks and sizzling platers. All of which were delicious and well presented. Large portions as well. Will be visiting again next time we are in Buxton.

We were in Buxton for my birthday and had planned on eating Italian at night. In the afternoon we spotted a little cocktail bar so called in for drinks. What a welcome ! The owner immediately offered us the cocktail menu and found us a seat in the busy bar area. Decor was wonderfully French - interesting pictures. We liked the place so much we asked about eating in the evening. We managed to book the last table! When we came to leave we asked for the bill for our cocktails - given that we are not from Buxton and were unknown to them, we were amazed when the owner said not to worry, he’ll add them to the evenings bill ! The evening meal was wonderful- we had the Moroccan sausage & the lamb in a chilli jam. Both excellent! Service was great, atmosphere wonderful. What stood out for us was that it was as far removed from a chain restaurant as it could be - very personal and friendly, noisy in a good way - just the chatter of diners ! Absolutely loved that there was no “piped” inane music playing. A great evening - we will definitely return.
