With summer finally here I was tempted by the menu in the window of Nocturne. Affogato was just what I hadn't realised I was looking for. And when it came it was just delightful with a wonderful balance between the flavours of espresso and ice cream, and set off by a generous dusting of chocolate and a couple of coffee beans. A relaxing break with classical music in this tiny gem of a cafe in upper Buxton, almost opposite famous second-hand bookshop Scriveners. I can't wait for my next visit.

Mixed bag really! Great welcome. £40 for 5 tapas dishes + bottle of house wine Mon to Wed...sounds perfect! Food good...service went downhill after initial order. Wine delivered with a pretentious attitude...who sniffs a plastic cork?? Really!!! Food good apart from uber salty patatas bravas. Then spent 20 mins trying to order dessert and another 20 trying to pay...the bill arrived without the £40 offer on..and another 15 mins waiting for it to be corrected. All in all, lots of potential but annoying service and attention to detail let it down. Train your staff Santiago and you'll get it right!

We dined here 3 times whilst staying in the village. Lovely pub. Comfortable seating and staff were great. Food was generally good. Salmon a bit skinny for the price. Curry sauce was good but unfortunately the chicken had not been cooked in the sauce and was a previously cooked chicken breast sliced up and dropped in the sauce. Naan bread was more flat bread. Quiz night with bingo was entertaining. If I could I would have scored 4.5. Don't be put off this is still a pub worth visiting and we shall be returning.

We typically stop at Sylvie’s for a couple of bacon & egg baps (good old British “brunch”) and the food is always perfect. My wife likes her eggs with a hard yolk, but here 5hey are always JUST hard. In fact not far from perfect. Service is also always friendly. Hard to beat

Passing through Buxton and just spotted so called in. Looks nice inside and friendly ladies and plenty to choose from. Asked for any recommendations and was suggested a BLT with added Chicken in a hoagie, 😋 this was beautiful and will definitely be going back next time I’m passing through

A cosy Italian restaurant with seating on two levels. The menu is varied with a good selection of Starters, Mains, Desserts and Sides. What I really liked was that all the Mains are available as a Starter and are of a good portion size. The staff are friendly and attentive.
