This Fish and Chip shop is quite simply the best in the wider area for quality of produce and value for money. The owner and staff are so very friendly and welcoming and always provide a great service and food. It’s the only ‘Chippy’ I’ll use in the area having used others that don’t compare.

Silver Hake Chip Shop offers exceptionally fresh, crispy, and delicious food. The flavours are spot-on, and the quality stands out. Highly recommended for anyone craving a classic fish and chips with curry sauce, a well-prepared meal!

Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. Excellent !! I'm not a regular as I live on the other side of brum but have used it when visiting my son who lives not far from here.

Our Friday night treat is the fish, sausage and chips with curry sauce , you get a lot of tasty food for £4.50. This is one of the best chippies in the area and I think the same family have owned it for years.

I went for the fish burger meal with bbq donner .... got charged nearly a tenner I was expecting greatness for that kind of pricing ... sadly the fish burger disappointed big time as they just used the fish that's been sitting the for a while so tasted very flat .... the bbq donner was nice but very small quantity maybe 5-6 strips ... chips were decent ... overall 6.5/10 could have been a lot more if they used fresh fish for the burger !!!! Expected better from a place called le codfather..... I've had to come Back and edit my review as one day later I'm experiencing symptoms of food poisoning 🤢🤢🤢🤢 and now the overall rating has changed to 2/10 sorry

We visited here after reading the reviews online of their fish and chips. It's a short bus ride from Birmingham City, and we arrived around 1:30 pm. The place is small and the staff is very helpful. We ordered Cod with a side of peas and gravy. The portion size is good, and the service was also great. I thought the price was a bit on the higher side - 12 pounds. This may be my pallet that is used to having irish fish and chips, so I found thiers a bit bland and perhaps needed more seasoning.

Friendly people u cam have a laugh and a joke with Food is amazing even at 10 o'clock at night Excellent chip shop. Well done

Best fish and chips I have had since I was a kid.

I called beforehand asking if this chip shop accepts card payments, eventhough it states it does online!. I was told on the phone that they do accept card payments, however i then went into the chip shop only to be told they don’t accept card (I called 5 mins before!) When I told them that I called beforehand, I was told by the manager a ridiculous lie saying “we only accept card at certain times”, how pathetic and what a waste of time. Wonder why they don’t accept card payment?…..

AMAZING 🥰🥰 great service staff so friendly had good laugh while was waiting and to be honest the wait wasn’t even that long considering we ordered a lot of food I’m sorry to say I never took no photos I wish I did but I was so hungry I looked at it and just disappeared 👻 definitely recommend this place this now our new chippy prices are was so good to I’m shocked

Delivery brilliant, food lovely. All had different things. Fish, chicken, roe, battered sausage and plenty of chips. Will definitely order from here again.
