The best restaurants serving Seafood food in Birmingham West Midlands

This Fish and Chip shop is quite simply the best in the wider area for quality of produce and value for money. The owner and staff are so very friendly and welcoming and always provide a great service and food. It’s the only ‘Chippy’ I’ll use in the area having used others that don’t compare.

Went for my friend birthday on Monday. Food was excellent with good service friendly atmosphere.

Expectation was a 10. Reality was 0! If you've followed me for long enough, you'll know that fine dining and Michelin star restaurants is a very common occurrence. In 36 years on Earth I have never been so disgusted with a venue in my life!!!!! Firstly, our reservations were made in September, to dine on my actual birthday (29th December), to be seated at 7.30pm. At 5.30pm they called and left a voicemail to say The Oyster Club.....has no oysters! How is this even possible? They then called again and spoke to my partner, followed by another 3 calls that we answered. They just kept repeating the conversation and it was very obvious we weren't welcome. When we arrived and were the only table, this was even more obvious that the staff wanted to close and leave. After explaining my disappointment and stress about the situation, I had to ask for a complimentary cocktail for the inconvenience. Yes, this may have been a supplier problem, but to let us know 2 hours before our booking on 29th December....where else were we supposed to go?! I decided that caviar would soften the blow of no oysters being available and guess what was out of stock! No oysters. No caviar. They could offer steak.....at a seafood restaurant. The Asian waitress was trying to be intimidating so we leave, which was a fail. At that point I lost my temper. The immature, scruffy looking front of house was rude, cocky and couldn't care less. The manager was poorly dressed with a really bad hygiene smell. Her suit wasn't fitting at all. LUCKILY we managed to walk over the road to the amazing San Carlo and was seated immediately! For anyone looking for a fine dining, seafood experience I wouldn't bother. From start to finish I was completely disgusted in this environment, the service, the lack of menu options. We finished our drinks and left, then they asked us to leave as if the ball was in their court. I'll be very surprised if this place remains open. Disgraceful! Shocking! Pathetic waste of a building! Run by unenthusiastic uni students. Even arguing back with people on their reviews shows how little they care about customer service. Vile Place!

Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. Excellent !! I'm not a regular as I live on the other side of brum but have used it when visiting my son who lives not far from here.

Our Friday night treat is the fish, sausage and chips with curry sauce , you get a lot of tasty food for £4.50. This is one of the best chippies in the area and I think the same family have owned it for years.

Silver Hake Chip Shop offers exceptionally fresh, crispy, and delicious food. The flavours are spot-on, and the quality stands out. Highly recommended for anyone craving a classic fish and chips with curry sauce, a well-prepared meal!

Glad this place re opened, had a mix of things, fish was absolutely delicious, chips always lovely, the southern chicken was decent, the lemon and herb donner was lovely, the chicken fillet was not nice at all very rubbery, but overall I enjoyed it. Just a couple of points there Is no seating so take out only and they accept card now which is super. 01.25 went here again food was delicious had the munch box was decent but a but pricey but the chicken fillet was not nicely cooked. The batter was hard. The fish was delicious

We visited here after reading the reviews online of their fish and chips. It's a short bus ride from Birmingham City, and we arrived around 1:30 pm. The place is small and the staff is very helpful. We ordered Cod with a side of peas and gravy. The portion size is good, and the service was also great. I thought the price was a bit on the higher side - 12 pounds. This may be my pallet that is used to having irish fish and chips, so I found thiers a bit bland and perhaps needed more seasoning.

Lovely food and lovely atmosphere, portions are large and very fulfilling, was served by Maria who is really friendly and welcoming, would visit again for sure 😀
