The Big Fish in Birmingham

So disgusted with the customer service. This was our regular place & recently they have started ripping customers off. Over charging on food & the quality of the food has died. Sorry brothers, but you can’t be charging silly prices for food that isn’t even worth it anymore. It’s not the first time this has happened either but I think it’s time everyone knows as we’re fed up of constantly addressing this. Either they forget items from our order or they over charge on what we purchase. Need to begin fixing this attitude.

Lovely fresh food always fast service and food is always freshly cooked Pity about the driver he can’t be bothered to knock the door but would definetly recommend to order from here

Hola a todos los lectores y a todo el personal @ Trip! Me alojé en el Ibis Bordesley Birmingham durante la primera semana de noviembre de 2019. Un amigo me recomendó que probara esta articulación una vez. Conduje hasta el lugar (10 minutos) y estaba bastante ocupado a las 8 pm. Pedí una parrilla de pescado picante de tilapia, ensalada, yogur salado y arroz. Esta fue una comida para llevar. Fue muy delicioso y fresco. No probé la textura de un pescado congelado, así que tengo que dar un gran pulgar hacia arriba. Una foto adjunta.

Este es un buen lugar para obtener una buena comida rápida quslity y el servicio es bueno para servir con una sonrisa. Mi favorito es el pescado y las patatas fritas, que creo que es el mejor en la zona.

We visit hear every few weeks and love the Marsala Fish in naan. Unlike other places the fish is cod. This make all the differences. (other places dont even know what fish they are using ) Very good value also.

The service is incredibly fast and polite, show you respect and serve the best food. I cannot complain at all, i usually buy a chicken tikka in naan and its absolutely delicious.

Purchased doner kebabs. Served from the bain marie, so not fresh cut. Taken home. Doner Kebab is not supposed to have bones inside it. Every bite taken i found a bones inside there, so spitted it out. I ended up spitting the whole kebab out, as each mouthful i ate it had bones inside there. "Big Fish", change your kebab supplier if you want to be a big fish. Unless the bones in the kebab are supposed to be in there.

Use this place regularly as I work close to it. The Chicken Tikka in Nan is the best in Birmingham as it's cooked with Onions and Green peppers. Extensive menu and I don't know anybody that's been disappointed

Love this chip shop so much. Me and all my family members only come to this chip shop and swear by it. Very clean and hygienic unlike all the other takeaways on Coventry Road in small Heath and reasonable prices. Staff are lovely and friendly and know familiar faces here

This chip shop is lovely u must try it propa cod and chips,grilled food and not to forget the chicken tikka in Naan

If you fancy masala cod/fish, than this is the place to eat. Excellent customer service, cheap rates and high quality food. I highly recommend Big Fish....

Only just discovered this chip shop on a friends recommendation, and i honestly can say these guys do a fab job in delivering freshly cooked food each time. Would definitely recommend to all family and friends, they won't let you down like other chippy's (i.e.Pizza Pan)

Been here since it opened and it was good but since it's gotten really bad. Portions are mediocre and food is dry sometimes. Shop is dirty and there's only 2 tables. Staff are not that friendly. Would not recommend. Hajees is up the road they've been here since I moved here which is pretty long and their still good so I go all the way there instead of big fish which is closer.

I've been to chip shops on Coventry Rd previously and unfortunately have been left hugely disappointed. I am pleased to say that The Big Fish is an exception. The cod is lovely with a thin crispy batter. The chips unfortunately weren't as good (home made) they really didn't have that chip shop taste. Overall the fish is nice however, not the best of size and the chips really do require attention. Price is reasonable. Very friendly staff who are more than pleased to help. I would recommend The Big Fish if your on search of a chip shop on the Coventry Rd. Do be mindful of parking as it's extremely difficult to find a legal parking space.

Great food and service excellent value friendly efficient food was hot served straight away also local and very friendly good banter

When i first strarted going to big fish there fish was a good size now size of the fish has gone small now plus the tables and chairs are not clean and chairs ripped if they want compete the must not be complacent

Quite possibly the best fish and chips in town. You must try this place. they always serve fresh Cod and chips. The batter is lovely bubbly & crispy. The quality of food and portion size is always consistant. They also do a mean Chicken tikka with fresh naan. They cook it in a intrditional clay oven and then finish on grill. It's the biz. They have great friendly staff. Who are always polite, and never mess up your order. Which is always good.

I have been here numerous times and the quality of food here is brilliant every time.The fish is 100% cod and is a generous size, it is also presented in a fish and chips box which is a nice touch.I have sampled a variety of food they have on offer here and all of it is to a high standard. The donner kebab is rich in flavour as to is the masala fish. Overall the best chippy on Coventry road for quality!! Keep up the good work!

I have been eating at this place for a while now and have to say that I have always found their food to be fresh and tasty. Some of the staff here are very friendly and it's one of the few shops in this area serving real fish and chips, they don't skimp on salt and vinegar either and are very generous but then again they are very religious so it's part of their religion to be that way.

Very good fried Halal Cod at a reasonable price and served in a box as well, which prevents the fish from getting 'mushed' during transit.

The place has a lot of potential but as mentioned by others mini fish is almost non existent n the large fish next to it wasn't too big either.Chips were not as amazing as I expected from a self professed specialist fish n chip shop.Food was average not too good not too bad

Since this chippy opened I have been numerous times. However, I don't buy the chips from there anymore. So I get the fish from here and then drive to another chippy to get some nice soft chips. The way they should be. Chips from Big Fish are hard and dry. It hasn't just been the once over the last few years. It has been so every single time I have purchased from here. Family and friends have exactly the same complaint.

Ordered mini fish and chips the mini fish was a bit on the small size then usual. The chips were good as far as chips go .I hate people when they ask you if you want salt and vinegar and then just squirt just enough to soak one chip I mean why ask.if that what you going to do .For gods sake put it all over that what's it for.lol.had to take the bottle off him and do justice to my food.will go again but the fish size has to change or else.

Excellent food, never has ther food been displeasing always up to scratch, food for all family to enjoy something for everyone

Been here a few times. One of the better fast food places along the Coventry road with fresh food daily and good service.

We picked up some food from here to take back to the hotel we were staying in locally. We chose this place after a recommendation from family when looking for something nearby and are glad we did. The food was amazing, cooked perfectly & really tasty. Fish & chips were superb, portion sizes were huge & the price was exceptional.
