The older guy with the cap and glasses (probably the owner) is very rude and made me feel embarrassed in front of other customers. He first of all, ignored me and was going to serve someone behind me in the queue. He apologised sheepishly and began to serve me awkwardly with no smile or enthusiasm. I asked for fish and chips and he gave me a tiny portion of chips and a small fish costing £6.20. I came here last time and the other gentleman was the complete opposite and served me with such nice customer service with a smile and when I asked for more chips last the gentleman was more than happy to add some chips. This guy however said no you can’t have more chips and you have to buy a separate bag. Then he said I will give you this time but don’t ask again!!!! How rude!!!!! This was one of the most embarrassing and arrogant men I have come across. If you’re going to treat me like that then I will take my custom elsewhere where people actually appreciate your custom!!!!!

Old school 90's style chip shop , trip down memory lane. I had cod and chips from here , £10 but worth every penny. Quality was exceptional, as was the portion size and customer service. Deffo will be visiting again soon

Went in this place whilst passing through the area and I’m very goad I did. This is a proper chippy! Old school tastes like it used to be 20 odd years ago. Quality ingredients, awesome taste, hygienic and staff (AZIZ) was an absolute gentleman. What a great guy and a great place! I tried a lamb donner in pitta which was 10/10. Also tried a cod and chips which also was 10/10. I have to become a regular now whenever I am in the area. TRY IT - YOU WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Ma sha Allah what a lovely brother! Went today by the off chance me and my uncle fancied some fish&chips on our way back from walsall. Went to one first unfortunately it was not halal so we left rather disappointed and continued our journey home. As we was passing we spotted Marcos and thought lets see if it’s any good, went and and greeted by warm and honourable Moroccan brother may Allah bless him! Quickly ordered a large cod and chips and kebab in pitta and let me say it was honestly a throwback to the 90’s proper old school chippy that hit the spot! The fish was mouth watering, perfect white cod with a perfect consistency of batter, crispy, flavoursome and simply delicious! The kebab was once again perfect! Hot fresh and tasty topped with freshly cut salad and drizzled in the only sauce kebab should be “hot chilli” amazing. The chips again were superb light fresh and soft a proper chip in fact one of the best ive had for a good while! Keep it up see you soon🫡

Very nice, relaxing and very warm. Beautiful atmosphere and very nice welcoming. I will be coming back there regularly. Chicken and chips is my favourite food ever. I would like to try something different and new soon.💫😃 Very good customer service experience 👍 👏 fantastic 😊

Normally their service is satisfactory. Ocassionally great but last time i went they made me wait and then asked for order, then said they have no fish. They should ask order soon as customer gets there so if its not. made they can put it too cook. I ended up just walking out!

The food was ok but there was a lot of oil in the fish and chips.after that there was oil init didn’t wanted to eat it.

The nuggets were passable but the chips inedible.

The owner was such a humble and welcoming guy aswell as the gentleman serving. Had the fish and chips which was nice and fresh deffo recommend.

Lovely shop and very friendly staff! Both the owner and employees always ready to help with a smile and always there to help you decide your meal with some lovely suggestions and samples to try! Very well priced considering the cost of everything these days and compared to other takeaways! Perfect fish size, perfectly cooked and delicious kebabs! Also love the southern fried chicken! Highly recommend!

What an absolutely excellent meal every time. The chips are perfectly cooked, seasoned extremely well and hit the spot every time. I often find myself coming to Marco’s when I’m feeling down as I know the food will pick me right back up. I am a die hard fan of the fish too. Keep up the good work, guys.

Great long standing chipshop been around ever since i was in diapers, quite a rarity these days. Always has been our families go to fast food, quality has been consistent for years.

Always have to stop by when I'm visiting Birmingham. The fluffy, large chips with vinegar are my favourite; chicken is well seasoned and tasty! The staff here are consistently welcoming and generous. Great prices and portions with a homely atmosphere - happy.

Marcos fish bar in Birmingham is fantastic. The restaurant is a take out exclusively and is busy. The shop is kept clean and well maintained. The fish portion is generous. The photo may not look it but the large fish and chips is huge compared to even Canadian/American standards. The prices are very good as well. Chips are good and seasoned for you. After eating here I didn’t feel horrible afterwards and even the next day. That’s when you know you’ve had good fish and chips. They do not have gluten free options. Give them a try. You won’t be disappointed.

Have been coming here for years but will never go again. Portion sizes have been significantly reduced. I couldnt believe they were trying to charge me £5.50 for a mini fish an chips with a portion that was no bigger than the kids meal i ordered last time for £2.50 Ended up telling them to cancel it and walked out. The older guy serving is also rude. Never again.

Arrived shortly after 8pm to order my usual Pie and cone of chips for £4.60. Served and asked if wanted a bag of chips, couldn't really hear the server and agreed. Usually its just a cone but I was charged for a large portion of chips with a small curry sauce, amounted to £6.40. Surprised is an understatement! Returned home and discovered the pie was nice as usual but with the chips, I was decieved and the large portion was in fact stale and solid. Forced to leave half as they were unedible. As a result, I will not be visiting again.

Not adhere to cov19 Guide lines when entering the shop I was horrified because the young lad had his mask off chatting to another member while spiting on the chips not great people. Will not be visiting again have been going there for a few years not anymore.

Went in while young lad was talking and spiting on my chips at the same time mask half way down his face just for show. After couple of days got told I had Cov19 only place in two weeks I had visited this shop. Not impressed.

Been going to this chip shop for near two years, got served my what looks like to be the owners son. he asked me my order three times which I thought nothing of. I ordered 1 large fish, 1 piece of chicken and a tray of donor meat came up to £9.40 so I thought maybe he charged me more than normal so i asked. He stepped back and said " Yooo this is cod fish not penga man, what you want man!" while the other guy (seemed to be owner) knows me by face said no he's a regular don't worry. To be honest it's a shame it was a simple question seems to be like the successor for a bad reputation. I wasn't even asking about the fish but the simple check of the price! Too much arrogance in my opinion. Also the lamb donor isn't on par to what it used to be it's like they are just strands of meat and regardless of what time you go the kebab is always old never cut fresh. Thanks for reading.

Always very friendly and a good choice to keep the whole family happy - everything from fish and chips to kebabs and very reasonable on price.

I've only ever been disappointed with the food one time at Marco's, but considering I've lived around here since 1983 that isn't saying much! Food is always hot, and is just the right level of greasy. Prices aren't too bad, although they have shot up a bit in the last couple years. My main gripe is that they STILL don't accept card payments, which is the main reason I don't go there often these days. Don't want to withdraw £10 to spend £3.

I was on training for my job I went to get a fish cake I ate it hours later I became very ill and ended up with food poisoning my husband had to take time of work to look after me five days later Im only just getting over it I would never use this again
