Dolphin Twins in Birmingham

Nothing is too much trouble for these guys. Excellent !! I'm not a regular as I live on the other side of brum but have used it when visiting my son who lives not far from here.

Usually this chip shop serves excellent food. The owners and staff are very friendly and attentive. We’ve had an unpleasant piece of fish on more than one occasion but this has always been replaced or refunded without any problem. Kebab dishes are nice, spring rolls are beautiful. Chips are usually very good but can occasionally be a little greasy and / or undercooked, no different from any other chippy in this regard. The owners have been there for decades which says a lot about how good this place is.

The chips and donor used to be really nice.The chips used to be nice.And crispy, but now recently, they very soggy.And seem like very greasy I don't know If you've changed your potatoes or what's happening , but your Donna Chips is not like before that was my Saturday night treat I miss it 😒😒

I have had fish n chips or kebab meat n chips on previous visits all very good but tonight's fish was not very good. Batter was hard n chewie, the fish creamy yellow leaning more to yellow and like rubber. Was this a reheated fish from lunchtime or the evening before? A real letdown as there are a number of other establishments I drove past thinking I was going for the best. Very disappointing and not enjoyable at all. If I was closer I would have taken it back. Dispite being disappointing on this occasion I will still use Dolphin Twins again, maybe sticking to the kebab meat

When in for two mini fish and chips, fish ok but batter was not good soggy, chips were the same, must have been in there for some time

I would not eat from here ever again the place is infested with mouses I seen 2 in the shop just when his was gonna open up yuck made me wana puke . The chicken is also old you can tell its from a day before its got blood in it how disgusting can you get

Nice quality food service slow as only on person serving but food is high quality served warm and delicious cheap then others out there will go again Its is Halah except the pukka pies

Got to be honest in my review. Been living across the road for a few years and this was my 'go to' place. Absolutely loved it, value for money, quality food! However, recent times have been worrying, the prices are increasing dramatically (way above the RPI) and the quality is diminishing, leaving a bit of a sour taste in your mouth, figuratively and literally. £7 for a kebab & chips tonight (2 years ago, about £4.50)... And the taste is not what it used to be, kebab is greasy and weird tasting, chips are cardboard texture. Falling standards and increasing prices, I really don't hold high hopes for the future of this place which is a huge shame. Reed square is just up the road and it is the same price for, at least, twice the quality of food (albeit not the best place in the area). It really pains me to write this review, as I used to love it here and the owner is a really nice guy. I've given it half a dozen chances recently and each visit is more disappointing than the last, and have to share my views with the community.

Always fresh and ample portions, nice clean fish shop with polite staff. Other local chippys can't match it, and it was here before all the others.

First time I went to place today while working in the Area. Nice chips fresh tasty and just right not crispy not to soft.

This owner does not believe in the fact that we are all striving to survive this pandemic! Tonight I went into this chip shop on 10-03-2021 and the main guy did not wear his mask but still serves up food. He even pushed some tiny battered fish over with his bare fingers. Disgusting attitude to be honest. I’m going to report what I witnessed to the health of food and hygiene department. Won’t be going there again

Pulled up outside tonight Sat 2nd Jan, Chap serving had no mask/visor or protective screen, 4 people came into shop none wearing masks and nothing said!! Sorry went elsewhere ... we are in tier 4!!!

Thought 3 pound fifty was a bit expensive for a large portion of chips ?

Very clean. Friendly staff. Only two allowed in at a time. Food is tasty and good portion sizes. Lots of parking space available but quite a bit of broken glass. Definitely 1st choice for fish and chips. Think they should introduce a loyalty card 😊

A good selection to chose from including kebabs.

got some sausage and chips from here and the portion sizing in small. You certainly do not get value for money here, and when i went to bite into the sausage the meat was not good like the sausage had been sat there all day and was reheated from the day before. disgusting food.

I have just had the worst pie and chips ever inside the pie was stone cold whilst the pastry was warm chips had a taste of leftovers from lunchtime won't be going there again

Just good hot food,simple and good freindly staff. Better value then the new chippy over the road get served quicker too.

Had a kebab here and felt ILL to my stomach had really bad gastroenteritis from the chicken kebab so will not be eating from here again but the meats not right

This chippy has to be the best in Birmingham. Always fresh and tasty just like it should be.. The staff are so friendly and welcoming.. Try a kabab with chilli sauce or the southern fried chicken!!! Yummy... If your passing the Dolphin Twins just pop in and try the fish and chips its great...

Called in to try after my friend told me how nice the fish was... The food is just amazing, started with the fish and chips but also tried a piece of the southern fried chicken tonight that was really nice and tasty and not dripping in fat unlike others in the area. The guy who has served me the last few times is really friendly and appears to take a genuine pride and attention to the food he serves and on two occasions actually asked me if I was happy with the portion size!! as well as offering me a free bite size breast piece of chicken that he has added to the menu recently. I will definitely be going back and may give the chicken kebab meat a try next time it seems popular.

After reading the good reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to give this fish and chip shop a try and our experience did not match our expectations. We should have known something was wrong when we arrived at about 6.30 pm on a Friday and there was no queue - our experience has usually been that good fish and chip shops normally have quite a queue at this time. We ordered 2 x cod and chips which had been pre cooked and again good fish and chip shops normally cook them to order. The chips were limp and soggy and the fish a light grey colour, however the batter was quite good. The vinegar had very little taste to it and we ended up throwing most of our meal away. If you like good fish and chips try Atlantis a couple of miles away or if you like really good fish and chips try Chamberlains on the Wolverhampton New Road.

Popped into this fish and chip shop when i was passing through the area on business and i have to say the fish is amazing! Very fresh, perfectly cooked and a great batter. Really good, friendly service, too. Will definitely be popping in again when i'm in the area.

This shop is not our local fish & chip shop but we travel to it because it has always been excellent and consistent. Its clean, staff are friendly and food is fresh.

I love this chip shop, everytime I go back to Birmingham I have to go here - it's a prerequisite of our visit - just the best chippy around - went here last week, and top quality fish and chips as usual, they've never let me down yet - can't wait for my next visit - yummy

Over the years I've been to some outstanding chip shops and some awful ones. This chippy is outstanding. It has that fresh smell, the shop itself is immaculate and the food is top notch. I would highly recommend this chippy.

my nan and grandad used to get chippy from here every Saturday. They were great back then and they still are. Great service and great food

we drive 20 minutes to get fish & chips here and eat it in the car simply because it's the best chippy ever. First discovered when a friend lived close by years ago and we've been faithful ever since :-)

The chips are amazing here nice and crispy and soft in the middle. The fish is light and crispy as well and tastes so fresh .this chippy belongs by the seaside its that nice

Good fresh chips....was worth the wait. Would have liked a bit more salt & vinegar, but that's just a personal preference.
