This Fish and Chip shop is quite simply the best in the wider area for quality of produce and value for money. The owner and staff are so very friendly and welcoming and always provide a great service and food. It’s the only ‘Chippy’ I’ll use in the area having used others that don’t compare.

La primera vez que entré en Penny's Fish Bar fue cuando me mudé a la zona porque resulta ser mi nuevo local; poco sabía que también era el mejor, especialmente las papas maltratadas. Me abrí paso y probé muchas otras papas fritas maltratadas en el área y siempre vuelvo a Pennys: barato, delicioso, no te puedes equivocar. Para cualquier vegetariano / vegetariano que lea esto, la comida se cocina en la misma freidora. Sé que esto es un problema para algunos (pero no es para mí, así que ME ENCANTA).

Comió a partir de aquí a la hora del almuerzo y las noches, y la comida siempre está recién preparada, si no puede comer mucho 3. 50 te comprará una comida decente

Penny's es un local de "fish and chips", con precios muy razonables. Han empezado recientemente y ofrece un menú infantil, que es un poco más barato y las raciones son un poco más pequeñas; de hecho encontrar sus habituales raciones demasiado generosas, así que esta es una buena opción. Una de sus especialidades es maltratada o chips de Orange, que están disponibles en todo momento. Su apertura es muy conveniente, y el personal siempre ha sido muy amable y educado. Algunos artículos no están en contenedores de poliestireno, que pueden hacer sudar patatas fritas. Esto normalmente sólo porciones más pequeñas. También tienen uso adecuado de vinagre chips (no condimento molido) en todo su adicción. Un pequeño local "fish and chips".

Penny's is just a Fish and Chip Shop and although it is not in the most salubrious area. What they produce is wonderful!! We particularly adore their 'Battered Chips' - the whole family thinks that these are out-of-this-world in taste! They are friendly in the shop and the portions are generous. Well worth a try.

Expectation was a 10. Reality was 0! If you've followed me for long enough, you'll know that fine dining and Michelin star restaurants is a very common occurrence. In 36 years on Earth I have never been so disgusted with a venue in my life!!!!! Firstly, our reservations were made in September, to dine on my actual birthday (29th December), to be seated at 7.30pm. At 5.30pm they called and left a voicemail to say The Oyster Club.....has no oysters! How is this even possible? They then called again and spoke to my partner, followed by another 3 calls that we answered. They just kept repeating the conversation and it was very obvious we weren't welcome. When we arrived and were the only table, this was even more obvious that the staff wanted to close and leave. After explaining my disappointment and stress about the situation, I had to ask for a complimentary cocktail for the inconvenience. Yes, this may have been a supplier problem, but to let us know 2 hours before our booking on 29th December....where else were we supposed to go?! I decided that caviar would soften the blow of no oysters being available and guess what was out of stock! No oysters. No caviar. They could offer steak.....at a seafood restaurant. The Asian waitress was trying to be intimidating so we leave, which was a fail. At that point I lost my temper. The immature, scruffy looking front of house was rude, cocky and couldn't care less. The manager was poorly dressed with a really bad hygiene smell. Her suit wasn't fitting at all. LUCKILY we managed to walk over the road to the amazing San Carlo and was seated immediately! For anyone looking for a fine dining, seafood experience I wouldn't bother. From start to finish I was completely disgusted in this environment, the service, the lack of menu options. We finished our drinks and left, then they asked us to leave as if the ball was in their court. I'll be very surprised if this place remains open. Disgraceful! Shocking! Pathetic waste of a building! Run by unenthusiastic uni students. Even arguing back with people on their reviews shows how little they care about customer service. Vile Place!

38 Bakers LaneOur Friday night treat is the fish, sausage and chips with curry sauce , you get a lot of tasty food for £4.50. This is one of the best chippies in the area and I think the same family have owned it for years.
