SCAM! Not Mediterranean! Arabica style all. . They packed a piece of fish in a spicy Arabic style with some nonsensical black rice 😳 and some grated sauteed vegetables. This is a completely awful dish, like cursing a Mediterranean dish!

As soon as I walked in I was greeted with a smile. The staff was quick, friendly and accommodating. Fiona, especially, made sure to check up on me numerous times to make sure I had everything I needed and I was initially served by Abdullah who was extremely friendly and helpful. Food was also delicious. Overall 10/10 experience

Amazing Egyptian Restaurant!!!! We came as a family of four and we absolutely loved the incredible authentic seafood. The seasoning on the food was so good and the soup we ordered was so yummy too. Fiona was our waitress and she was so smiley, friendly and very sweet! She really catered to us and ensured our needs were met. Thank you so much! 😊 We can’t wait to come again inshAllah!

It’s not testy and not clean restaurant

I have been to this restaurant with my wife and her family to taste some of the Egyptian fish dishes and it was brilliant, the food was amazing and staff was awesome. We definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to try some Egyptian fish cuisine and we will definitely come again. We tried this time the fried calamari and shrimp boat and next time we can try the grilled ones

We had an amazing time at the restaurant, the staff was very polite and accommodating. We brought our toddler and they made sure we were seated somewhere suitable and with a high chair. They also have baby changing facilities. The food was delicious and it was served promptly. We received complementary snacks and tea. The parking was spacious. We definitely recommend this restaurant and cannot wait to return.

Under new management, the food was great, and the staff were excellent. The owner, Hussain, was very friendly and welcoming. Fiona, our waitress, was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu.Overall, it was a lovely experience. Must try!!

If you like your food severely undercooked, with a likely chance of getting food poisoning you’ve come to the right place! It’s currently 7PM on a Friday, and look how busy this place is (pictures attached). It tells you as much. Don’t just generally look at reviews. Sort it from newest and this will tell you so much. This place must have been good, but gone down hill since. It all started well with good starters but it went down hill from there! Mains came an hour afterwards with no apology and the fish was as raw as the day it came out the sea! Disgusting! Look how busy this place is? Why did we wait so long and why was it so undercooked? It wasn’t as if the chef was off their feet!

Setting is good(has the potential to become great),obviously owners dont care ,I dont know why,but its bad, service and food quality are below avergae. The waiter(H.) is very rude,not welcoming,not proactive, can ignore you easily. Foor is very average. It took too long to serve the food,no coordination when they serve food,plates come in random way with more than 10 minutes inbetween, when you finish nobody bothers to come to collect back the empty plates ,they leave you to keep coming out of table looking for them to ask for drink, to ask for the recipe,to ask for tissues, it was a nightmare visit and we felt it's very over pricy for the quality and quantity of the food and moreover and the not welcoming atmosphere, will not visit again. Management need to pay attention to these details for future other customers.

Been here a long time ago, chef sawy his seafood boil is amazing and he knows how to work around allergies.

They brought soup and main course together. Prawns were over cooked with a hard coating.

So I came in about half an hour after Maghreb in Ramadan and was told it was buffet only and £20 per head. Expensive but I agreed as was hungry and I asked if there was still any food left and if it was still warm. The waiter said yes it was and if anything was finished to let him know. Firstly most of the food was dry probably being heated for too long, and wasn’t even warm. Some trays were empty and they had made no effort to replenish it. Food was tasteless and not much variety. Zero meat dishes, about three seafood ones the rest was lentils and vegetarian options. Whilst we were still eating they started to pick up the food trays and they could see we had not finished eating, and I had to tell them to put them back, which they didn’t and they seemed annoyed we had told them to. After a bit they did they same for the desserts and yet again I had to tell them to put them back, and they made an excuse the we are putting away the empty ones and I pointed out to him that you are not holding empty ones! They gave each other “looks” which in itself was very rude. If it hadn’t been Ramadan I would have definitely spoken to the manager, and I do regret not doing so! WAY too expensive for what you pay for, and service atrocious too. I’m a foodie and travel the world so please take this into account if planning to visit them.

Not the best fish place, i have been to better. Sayadya rice was nowhere close the traditional sayadya rice. Singari was ok and fried talapi was ok too. In general, Too expensive for the quality of food

Best restaurant experience I’ve ever had 🌟 hidden gem in Birmingham, honestly a must visit for everyone! The owner was amazing walking us through the options, we went for the seafood boil in the end and it was made to perfection! The drinks served were also amazing and service was outstanding in the place. Definitely returning for more :)

Fine cuisine of seafood fried and crispy to perfection, with rice on the side, chilli and prawn sauce, topped with Morrocan mint tea . Great evening for 2, calm and relaxing, although we did get there at 9 pm on Sunday night. Staff did mix order up but made up for it and made sure the rest of the evening went without a hitch , Since it was a quiet evening, the experience may be different from the rush hour period, but overall, it was a lovely evening out.

Very friendly staff. Food is delicious and authentic. Very good quality fish cooked to the highest standard. Wide variety of dishes and cook offering to cook sea food the way you like it. Very highly recommended. Will definitely go there again.

Nice restaurant for seafood and have open buffet during Ramadan

The iftar for £20 , is shockingly a complete waste of money. For a seafood restaurant it was shocking. Abit of rice , abit of soup and 1 fish option. Would not recommend for iftar. Plenty of buffet places in Birmingham charge £20 for variety of options (Ziryab , Shahi Masala , etc) , paid £160 for family of 8 of us , had to go home and order a burger shop. They really need to review the price , £5-10pp would some what be acceptable.

The chef is truly talented and comes out personally to speak with customers about the food. The staff were friendly and gave us recommendations about the menu. The food was good value for the money.

We bought pawn soup which was a little too spicy for us (may be helpful to write on menu which dishes are spicy) greek salad was fresh and delicious with block of feta cheese on top. Egyptian fish rice was nice but the biryani was nicer and more fluffy. The spice on the biryano fish dish was moderate and had pawns had a crunch to them. Overall nice place to go as a couple as a little pricey for a family. If your ordering fish you are looking at 15 to 20 pounds per head.

Went there for a family birthday! Initially was going to order the seafood bucket, but when we asked if they put in eggs and sweetcorn the waiter said no! He then said that if we wanted eggs, there would be an extra charge! He also told us that the main experience chef was on holiday. When we asked if the seafood was fresh, the waiter said that he would need to check. Surely if you work there you would know. We ordered the sea bass fish, paid £18.00, assuming we would get a good size fish, to end up with two small fish fillets, the ones you would normally get at Lidl for £2.99. Pls see pictures attached. Not worth the money a total rip off, unsure as to what all the hype is about. We also ordered two different pasta dishes, but the taste was very similar of both dishes. Was looking forward for a decent size fish for £18.00, not to end up with two small fillets. Then we felt rushed , as they started packing away, saying they were closing and stood over us watching till we finished. Please do not waste your money! We were a small party of two adults and two children. They did not go the extra mile either knowing that it was for a special occasion. We should have refused to pay for the fish, but did not want to spoil the special occasion!

I'm so surprised this place would be recommended by anyone to be fair. The unpleasant fishy smell? Bearable... But customer service? What a joke... The way out order was taken was like she is doing me a favour. I thought a sister in Islam would at least greet me with a smile, but no, not really. She rolled eyes over when asked by the other guy to take our order. Fair enough. No one even greeted me at all. She just simply took order in one second not even explaining anything and left. Keep in mind that it's not a cheap place so at least the bases of some kind of behaviour could be considered. We ordered two drinks that were literally slammed by the guy, we asked for glass with ice and lemon we got a drink straight from bottle slammed on the table that didn't even look at us or said anything... At this point I wanted to smack the drink back and leave but we came especially from Nottingham so it would be a shame to leave. Then we got hummus and what I assume suppose to be Baba ghanoush? I'm guessing because it tasted like water... After a half spoon of houmous I wanted to be sick. It was one of the most disgusting things I had in my mouth... I could even think it was simply expired. We also seen our bread being prepared... Pitta bread in the microwave touched around 10 times with the bare hands of a waiter.... Just to check a temperature he touched it everywhere and each piece🤢... And obviously it was rock hard after it came to us who would ever put bread in microwave? Especially that most of guys were Arabs... Is that how your mom is making bread? And then... Not even one person was interested to even look at us when we were trying to get attention of people. All waiters left to eat their food. 7 working people were simply munching... And left us without even a side that we wanted to order. Please save your time and your money....

Decided to give calamari fish restaurant a try and I was really facing some seafood. However, I used too good to go as I was unsure of how this place would be. The image is what I got and wow! The seasoning and flavour of the fish was absolutely astonishing. I don't know how they cooked the rice but it was like nothing I'd ever tasted before. I will definitely be trying this place again and will be getting an item directly from the menu. Would recommend!

Very good fresh fish the waiter was attentive I recommend

I picked up a “too good to go” bag from the app. This was quite an interesting experience. I had a fish that I was uncertain as to its specific identity. This was battered in the style of the fried chicken that you get in takeaways. It was quite nice. I also had some yellow basmati rice, some pickled vegetables and some pitta and humous-like sauce. I wasn’t sure about the pickled veg but the fish itself was nice. I had to pick some bones out which was quite fiddly but I generally enjoyed the dish. All in all this was quite a different experience to what I have had with other “too good to go” purchases but I definitely had a nice lunch. I think the restaurant would be a nice place to come for a sit down meal. It was spacious, clean and inviting. I liked the concept as you don’t see many seafood restaurants in the West Midlands and the Asian twist added some spice.

Great experience, the only restaurant in Birmingham I was happy to sit and eat, the high ceiling and tables setup made it great, the food taste and staff way of dealing were great, The food is even much better than a lot of local restaurants back at home. I've tried both to dine in and takeaway and both were perfect. Thank you guys for such great experience, chef AbdelFattah and the whole staff.

THIS IS A POISON HOUSE! RUN FOR LIFE ! This is the worst experience I have had when it comes to restaurants in all my life. Went there with my partner and we should have run away when there is no other client in the restaurant when we got in . We ordered grilled salmon and tilapia, and prawn appetiser- the fish were rotten cold and bland , food was smelly , uncooked and my tummy started to turn with a single bite. We couldn’t eat any of the food and the heartless people still collected £50 charge for food we couldn’t it. They served poison and still confidently collected money .

Please ignore the Good reviews, this place serves poisons. Food not even good for dogs. And the staffs are the worst .

I saw a youtuber speaking about this resturant, I wanted to try, and OMG, the BEST SEA FOOD ever. We chose the chef offer and just by looking at the food, you know it will be good. My soul was smiling as I was eating, I enjoyed every bite. He is a REAL chef. I wish the best for this place and I will definitely come again and again. A must try in Birmingham

Fantastic Egyptian fish restaurant in a converted warehouse - food is super fresh and really tasty. Absolutely love their family platter, with crab, prawns, mussels, fish, langoustines etc They also have amazing cakes and baklava/goulash for dessert- personally love the ferrero rocher inspired cake- so SO good! Highly recommend!

Food was extremely good. The chef was really talented ( Abdelfattah Elsawy ). He is a world class chef. Worked in JW Marriott 7stars hotels in Egypt and Dubai. I have seen him before on the TV in Master Chef Arabs in 2020 on MBC channel. I was so impressed that he is the supervisor in the restaurant and the food he made was amazing. I have tried Iskandrani Prawns, Garlic and Lemon sauce fish. Sardines and rice. All was perfect.

Food quality was quite poor, fish wasn’t fresh apart from seabass. We were a big group and tried to book in advance and they said no need to. Staff didn’t seem to be very welcoming to gatherings

Pretty quiet. We shared a platter. Fish tasted fresh but they used the same seasoned batter on most of the seafood. Would be improved with some variety. Staff are very helpful 🙂

Disappointed after a very good experience when this restaurant opened. Today we ordered boat for 4 persons which should include half kilo fried prawns and half kilo calamari and we ended up finding around 5-7 calamari and around 7 prawns. When we complained they told us that it must have shrunk with frying!!! And that that was whats written in the description Totally disappointed. Happy to feed that back to the owner who is a very nice man that served us in the first time when they first opened. Today very bad quality except for the grilled sea bass and very delayed service!! All of us were still hungry after spending £33,38 each Ahmed
