The best restaurants serving Seafood food in South West

Massively overpriced. Paid £18.50 per person for a cheese salad. We were too shocked to complain. I am all for supporting businesses at this time however feel this was taking advantage of our custom.

I’ll never eat at Rick Steins again, over priced, under cooked chips, over cooked fish. Contacted twice to share my experience and they never responded. Awful and there are plenty of places better for a lot less.

What happened to the beautiful crispy batter and golden crispy chips of a couple of years ago. No better than Lees plaice now so sad soggy batter and limp chips sorry guys very disappointed 😞

2 haddock and chips. Absolutely beautiful. Curry sauce was different than the usual, but very nice. Staff were very friendly. Will definitely be returning.

I went in the shop at lunchtime and bought 2 portions of cod and chips which cost £25.80. The fish was small and thin and the chips were like scrapings from the bottom of the fryer. Very disappointed.

Saturday 6pm. Pretty quiet on arrival, a few customers waiting for orders sitting in the chairs. I was the only customer waiting to order, ABSOLUTELY no acknowledgment from the 2 staff of my presence at the counter. Nothing ready to serve in the display cabinets apart from a few sausages, understandably as food is freshly cooked, on the other hand if there were plenty of customers the food could be readily available on arrival within reason certainly for the earlier part of opening hours. Chips are usually perfect, batter is soggy. Spent a fortune feeding staff from here in the past over the years. So I went to Oldfields in Congresbury and spent £75, cabinets full of excellent food ready to go, a queue of customers, staff are pleased to see you, good old fashioned family business. Won’t be going back.

Booked in advance for a party of 12. No advanced orders required, which was good. The system they have is you have to go to the bar and order. So, when there are 6 couples placing 6 orders. The food doesnt then come out together and some people had finished eating before others had received their food. The chicken on my salad was dry and overcooked. My wife ordered jacket potato but they had run out of them! There were chips and crayons all over the floor. The staff were reasonably pleasant and the views spectacular but those 2 plus points wouldnt be enough to tempt me back.

First thing was I want cash the regular fish was really small pilled loads of chips way too much, and to top it off mushy peas was just green water. The first visit and for £13.50 the last just be aware folks this isn't quality it's a rip off.

Very rude owner and terrible food that's if it ever turns up? Go elsewhere!!!last week got our order wrong waiting 2 hours before food turned up, this week order been over 2 hours again! always get told 30-45mins BS Getting pi**ed off with these time wasters will be ordering else where :(Musa the current owner has no idea about customer service was very rude when we spoke on the phone about our food being wrong and very late told use to go elsewhere then! WOW.... SO we sent it back as they NOT the only takeaway in the bay!

Unfortunately the kebab was cold and the pita was over cooked and hard. Shame as was looking forward to some late night food.

Two young kids served me, this was when my kids were young. They gave mouldy green cod. Think they were racist. Ruined the family's last night at haven.

Went in late on Friday 2nd May and picked up a chicken and mushroom pie and small chips. I wasn't told the price and just paid. Unfortunately I was overcharged. The owner has reacted quickly to remedy the situation. Would have given 5* if this hadn't happened.

Hugely disappointing today. Ordered a large cod but received a small, thin fillet. The fish had small flakes rather than what I expect from cod. Hard in parts and tasteless. Used to be a superb place - what’s gone wrong? Was I just unlucky, or is it now poor?

Absolutely delicious fish and chips. They serve it how it is supposed to be here. Gentleman who works there is lovely too.
