Worst chips ever. Think been reheated a few times and hard and tasteless. Fish not too bd but oozing with oi. When you cut into batter you could see the oil coming out. Will try Straceys next time

Worst fish n chips ever in my opinion fish was greasy fell apart as soon as I lifted it was dark in colour which should of been a pale colour and crispy which it wasnt chips half cooked greasy soft still white sasauge in batter rank hardly any batter chips rank not cooked properly at all the guy n young lady misable as hell not a smile on thier face or word spoken unless you asked for somthing being a retired chef I would not even think of serving this food to anyone will not be recomending this place to anyone and the oil was not fresh as said as fish n sasauge n batter would of been crispy not dripping in oil all I can say disgusting that u can serve this no effort put in needs new management and staff

We have used preston fish n chips for years and we have never had a bad meal. As per pics cooked to order crispy cod and great chips 🍟 Still hot be time driven back to warmwell. Def 5 stars 🌟

Don't waste your money awfull food.

Had large fish and chips last night x2 and a sausage £23 , the worse fish and chips I’ve ever had by the by the time I had got back to the campsite 2 minutes up the road was just a packed tight greasy mess the chips where like they had been fried in cold over used oil and the fish not better went straight in the bin , even my dog turned his nose up at the fish and he loves fish Would never use again and recommend you avoid !!!!

Visited during a stay on the seaview, haven Excellent chips, value for money, on the second day served by a young lad with a fantastic attitude and was happy to actual have a short conversation with me about the general area, outstanding service, i told him i will be back next year

Just had a cod lot with mushy peas. Fish was fantastic, well cooked and large flakes. Chips were decent altho not the best I ever had and I could have done with a few more mushy peas. Overall well worth a visit.

I can't believe some of the reviews! This was the best fish and chips ever served by a friendly hard working guy! Food Cooked fresh to order,a small portion with a fab pea fritter fed both of us... with chips left over! Easy to get to from the caravan sites and a great price considering the amount of food and size of the fish. Excellent special offers are advertised in the windows. I wish people wouldnt place vile irelellevant reviews such as opening times, read the signs! This is someone's livelihood your risking.

I’m sorry to say the food we have had from this evening has made us all sick. Maybe some dodgy fish, cooking oil or ?? Who knows, but not the best way to spend the final night of our holidays :( 48 hours of toilet hell ! One of which being my 9year old, throw in a 6 hour drive home and you can imagine how disappointed we are. The honourable thing to do by the owners would be to make contact and offer a refund !

Staying at Weymouth Bay haven, no fish and chip shop on site, only a vastly overpriced van that has no other option than fish, went up the road to Preston Fish and Chip shop, very reasonably priced food, batter was really thin which was great, chips were amazing, jumbo sausage for my daughter was done jyst as she liked it, a great experience all round, definitely recommend this place.

Got fish and chips and veg burgers. Chips were like scraps. Veg burgers OK. Fish OK. Jumbo sausage OK. Not the best we have had.

Ordered a large portion of chips that I thought would do two adults and two teens and there was only enough for two costing £4.40 I went back and complained and they gave me another box of chips and took the original back still not enough if they let me keep first I wouldn’t left a bad review as chips did look nice I asked for my money back which they did went and got frozen chip half the price and our grandchildren had a lovely meal I do wonder if I got four small portions I would have a happy nevertheless I won’t be going back there as there portion could be a little more fore that price

Life savers! We stayed Seaview Haven only to find they didn't have a chip shop on site. The kids were gutted! We walked 5 minutes down the road and glad we did. Great food, reasonably priced and very generous portions. Thanks guys!

Really big piece of cod cooked beautifully while I waited. Chips were crispy and plenty of them. I would definitely recommend.

First off, we are just visiting Weymouth, but can see from recent reviews that Shooters is having some issues. Having waited several minutes for our fish, it came out dark brown and pretty cremated. I complained and the staff were helpful, understanding and gave a full refund for the fish. The chips when home tasted pretty average and the microwaved curry sauce was congealed with a skin on top. Only suggest they go back to basics - clean oil, cardboard boxes rather than polystyrene (so chips don’t sweat), fresh curry sauce in pot and then poured into cups. Our local in South Gloucestershire is incredible- Fry Days. Maybe see there website and see about training? All can be fixed and built on with the nice staff.

Having used Preston fish & chip shop before, I recommended it to my friends on a weekend away. I felt dreadful when we got back to our caravan to be faced with the worst cod and chips I have ever eaten. The fish was vastly overcooked, the batter was dark brown rather than golden. The actual fish itself, supposedly cod was very thin and tasteless. The chips were just OK and only lukewarm. I won't be visiting again. Very disappointed.

The majority of high ratings are 4 or 5 years old. What has changed since then. Sorry, it was so bad it got binned. You really need to do better.

Had cod n chips for 4 .guys wrapped it up well for our walk back to camp site still hot and fresh this was march 10th 2023 will be back

Would never go there again went about 2 years ago were OK went in November this year not nice I think they were frozen chips and the sausage was not nice I eat some then put rest in bin better of driving to Daniels chip shop Littlemore shopping centre.

Arrived at the Haven site last night so we went to this chip shop for the quickest, I really wish we hadn't, chips were undercooked and I've never known a chippy to warm the peas and beans in a microwave, the man stood with his back to us whilst doing this, all in all not very nice!

Turned up. Ordered 1 cod 1 portion of Chips and a battered sausage. My wife and I thought this must be decent as could hear local people taking to each other. When we got back to the caravan we opened it up and we were amazed at the amount of grease. The fish looked like it had been thrown from the fish and chip shop to the caravan we were staying in. The chips were of a collective congealed lump of wet soggy greasy potato mass not even a homeless dog would eat. They were similar to what you’d find down a Victorian sewer. The chips tasted like burnt ready salted crisps. The fish was cooked but just fallen apart. If we had run down the street and kicked the food back to the caravan it would have been in a better condition. We got given the food and drove back to the caravan. We didn’t drive round for 9 days at high speed and then decide to eat the food. The food was carefully driven back to the caravan for us to eat. Do yourselves a favour and sort your food skills out. I know it’s a take away and not Gordon Ramsey but please make the effort. Obviously you assume you will get business from the caravan sites. You will but not a lot of return business. Unless desperate like a homeless dog.

Absolutely fine fish and chips with friendly and speedy service. I've long suspected caravan owners are misanthropic curmudgeons, and the hyperbolic reviews for this listing are more evidence for it.

Absolutely disgusting the worst chips i have ever tasted and seen. They are vile full of bad pieces dry revolting and inedible. The fish was dry snd over cooked. The onion rings are cheap frozen ones not even really onion rings. Chicken nuggets again cheap frozen mashed up chicken. Scampi was over cooked. OH MY GOD I forgot as well. Curry sauce was already put in cartons and if you wanted it they microwaved it. So when we tried to pour it it was a blob. And disgusting. The staff were rude. And the only reason I can possibly think why people go is because they must be holiday makers who have never been or desperate. Because I would have happily returned the whole lot which cost £35. But my husband wouldn’t drive back again. So please avoid as it is disgusting and a waste of money

This fish and chip shop is horrible. The chips were soggy and undercooked + very cold. And the amount we were given was extremely pathetic. I am honestly disgusted. Will not be coming back. In a word Terrible! Cod n large chips: waited for the cod to be “cooked”, only when I got home and opened it, in parts, the batter was running off the fish completely uncooked. Generally it was still slimy and under cooked, certainly not a nice crisp batter. The chips it seems had been there a while, although strangely some of those weren’t cooked through either. Would have called to voice complaint if they had a listed number, and too late to drive back. It’s the nearest chip shop to where we now live, but it certainly won’t be getting any repeat business - My first and last visit to this place!

We walked all the way up from the nearby holiday park just after 8pm to find the place completely shut up! There’s no opening hours on the door, and reading a previous review it seems that they close around 7:30pm?!

Lovely home made chips. Large portion is huge, plenty enough for two.

We popped in here for take away fish and chips I have an intestinal condition and certain oils can cause issues. There was no sign up stating which oil they used so had to ask. They use palm oil which I cannot tolerate so,I had to miss out on this occasion. Rest of family said it was ok but greasy so didn’t use again.

Used this during our holiday as he chippy we normally used was closed due to a fire. Really wished we hadn't bothered. Was there around 7:30pm ish, and they seemed to be already prepping to close, despite a fairly long queue at the door. Not much choice and ended up with sausages as the lady in frnt took the last 4 pieces of the fish they did have left. Shame as I really fancied fish, and didn't want to leave empty handied after waiting 15 mins or so. Loads of chips, but got the feeling that they'd rather give them away than throw them out. When we opened them to eat, we ended up throwing about half away as totally inedible. Little bits, or dried up. Not many actual chips to speak of. If the other chippy isn't open when we go away next year, then we'll try and seek out somewhere else, as we won't be using this one again. Sorry.

What a disappointment. We were looking forward to visiting again after great fish and chips a few years back. This time the cod was grey and tasteless, chips soggy. Batter was dripping in fat. Very expensive as well. Avoid at all costs, this place is dreadful.

The pickled onions were squishy and soggy not crunchy as you would expect And the cod batter was exceptionaly dark like it was burnt but it also had a twang to it and in the bo there was ominous liquid swilling around, see photo. The fish was discoloured like greyish beige and dry. Not clean and white as you would usually get. Both hubby and think this fish had been left over at lunchtime and has been reheated again tonight. I did notice it was a different member of staff behind the counter frying to whom we have seen before. This was the worst portions of chip shop fish we have ever tasted. Hence to say all batter was discarded and binned. The portion was very small too DONT waste your money buying from here.

The most disgusting, awful fish and chip meal I have ever purchased. The batter on the fish resembled a greasy slime. The portion of cod was tiny and unfortunately I couldn't eat the chips because they were covered in whatever it was that was covering the fish. Will never use again.

I bought cod and chips and a cheeseburger on the way home this evening. It was all freshly cooked to order and as good as you can get. Portion sizes were just right and the prices were pretty good. Why pay a lot more for a huge portion and then throw half of it away? My wife is really fussy about fish and chips but she said this was perfect, especially the chips. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a re-visit.

Not the best fish and chips I’ve ever had but these were certainly up there. Portion size was about right and the food was tasty, cooked to order and was available in a reasonable time. The lady behind the counter was helpful and friendly. Easy to park on a side road for free; the shop is on a busy road so need to careful when crossing.
