Booked in advance for a party of 12. No advanced orders required, which was good. The system they have is you have to go to the bar and order. So, when there are 6 couples placing 6 orders. The food doesnt then come out together and some people had finished eating before others had received their food. The chicken on my salad was dry and overcooked. My wife ordered jacket potato but they had run out of them! There were chips and crayons all over the floor. The staff were reasonably pleasant and the views spectacular but those 2 plus points wouldnt be enough to tempt me back.

Came here for lunch on a foul weather day. Great views over the estuary/beach. Good selection of food, including gluten-free. You need to order drinks and food from the bar. Drinks arrived quickly, food less so but decent enough when it did arrive. Can get busy with families and young children.

Stunning views over exmouth beach. Came here for breakfast and my partner and I had the English breakfast which was average. Bog standard and similar quality to whetherspoons. Nice decor but spoiled by having lots of screaming children running around due to a play area next door. Won’t be returning soon unfortunately.

Came for date night thinking we weee going to experience the new Deck restaurant. What a shame that such a great location and view is hindered by screaming kids from soft play next door, ran by youngsters and the place on a Friday night was empty. To be fair what we had to eat was plentiful. We had 2 starters bread and olives and falafel and hummus. It was a meal on itself. However then the waitress came and said “ The chef has been too eager, and also cooked your mains which are ready 🤷♀️! If you want fast food after bowling then give a go, if your looking for an intimate couples night then avoid.

Our visit was ruined by an extremely rude waiter he was not only rude once but twice. After we complained to the manager he came and made a half hearted apology.food was average. Other staff members were friendly but wouldn’t recommend or visit again

We were a group of 10 who booked well in advance via Open Table. We arrived to find that they didn't have our booking. Never mind, these things happen. However, the questions came back: "Have you booked?". Yes, I replied. "We don't have your booking, are you sure you've booked?". Yes, I replied. "Are you sure it wasn't the restaurant downstairs?". Yes, I replied. I presented email booking confirmation as evidence. Perhaps that should have been asked for before all of the questions? As they didn't have the booking we were asked to wait while a table was prepared. We suggested that we read the menu while we wait in order to save time and give us something to do while we waited. We were told that we couldn't do that as we had to use the menus on the table that was being set. The drinks order took a little too long to arrive. The food arrived in reasonable time. Rather oddly one of the servers brought out a plate of chicken skewers and asked the group "Where's this going then?". We asked what it was and she said "I've no idea". How odd it was clearly a plate of chicken skewers! The food was very good, one of the best chicken/bacon/avocado salads I've ever had and apparently the soup was really good as well. The views through the floor to ceiling windows are lovely across the beach and the sea. The food was really good and reasonably priced. A shame about the service which at times bordered on rude and at other times bordered on hilariously bad.

What a short-sighted way to waste the potential of a fantastic location. We booked a table, arrived at the prescribed time and the one person behind the bar pointed in the general direction of free tables, advising us that they hadn't been prepared. After 15 minutes there were four people hovering behind the bar and we had been left to our own devices to try to scan a QR code (which didn't work) on our table to order. One of our party had to repeatedly approach the bar to obtain menus (with a QR code that did work), request the table to be sanitised and then to order drinks. If you want to be ignored, this is the place to come!

We arrived for lunch and were shown to sofas by the large sliding glass doors, which he pulled back to let the air in. We loved the view of the seafront and mouth of the estuary, beautiful on a sunny day. You can order from a code to scan, on your table, if you want to minimise contact. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We all enjoyed our food which was nicely presented. The area is spacious. Would definitely recommend. Don't let the fact that there's a bowling alley and children's soft play area within the Ocean building, put you off going in for a meal at the Deck restaurant! You wouldn't know it.

Had a lovely dinner looking out over the estuary here in Exmouth. Food was spot on and we were very well looked after by Chelsea and the other members of staff. Would definitely come back - thinking of coming back for breakfast before the summer is out.

Good food and coffee when arrived, however today’s visit was one to remember. Two young girls having to do the job of several people during the busy lunch time rush. Credit to them both for doing the best they can and not being managed properly to offer support when needed. One poor girl burst into tears and we offered support to her. Spoke with Duty Manager - Darren, who was very sympathetic and understanding. Did his best to smooth things out after an awful encounter from the General Manager - Justin Moore. Justin: You should be ashamed of yourself and rather than being an aggressive one sided jobsworth you should really go back to customer service school and learn it all over again. Try listening! Feel for the staff if they have to work for you…not inspiring at all. As for Darren, thank you for offering the drinks and wine, for which we turned down and offered it to the two waitresses who deserve it! Good luck!

WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We have eaten here numerous times, day & evening, aswell as just enjoying a Vino evening & we've throughroughly enjoyed every single visit. It's such a lovely Venue, with fantastic sea veiws & great food at very reasonable prices. I feel this gem of a place, could be missed by peopal, as from the outside it just looks like an activity centre, but it really is a 'Must Visit Place', You won't be dissapionted! We've also enjoyed many an eve/day in the eatery downstairs, which is more purse friendly, with the added bonus of being dog friendly and still enjoys great sea views. Staff throughout every section of this venue, have always been incredibly friendly and helpful THANK YOU:)

Try to book a table from where you can admire .you have a whole bay to look at including cruise liners enjoying a covid inspired rest . The food is ideal for children and for adults you need a large capacity to finish 3 courses.

Stopped here for lunch with my son, decided to eat at The deck, as it is on the the first floor, there is also a childerns soft play area on this level. On the ground floor is another bar/restaurant called the Engine Room. The view from the Deck, are definitely , a major plus. Service was pleasant and efficient, we both had the fish and chips, really enjoyed it .

Second visit here and food is nice. Such a shame though that some of the cutlery was dirty and the plate was so obviously unclean! Dried on red food stains under my scampi and chips. No way this wouldn’t have been noticed. Sorry, not acceptable for the money paid

Sunday morning 9th January and we were awaiting the departure of our flight to Lanzarote from Exeter Airport. This cafe is located on the ground floor of the departure lounge and was the only catering facility open at the Airport. We ordered and paid for two Flat whites which were £2.70 each. Considering they were dispensed from a machine it took a long time to get our coffees. A bit disappointing that they were served in paper cups There was limited food here, which included croissants, pain and chocolat, crips and a bit more. No alcohol was on sale here.

I visited the restaurant alone and enjoyed cod, chips, peas, and curry sauce. The cod and chips were freshly made, crispy, and great quality. The curry sauce was spicy and the peas tasty. The service was attentive and courteous. All in all, a really good experience, and from observation, well supported and appreciated by a steady flow of local customers.

My wife and I have been enjoying this outstanding Fish Bar for over eight years now and have loved every bit of their consistently excellent products, thoughtful service and original atmosphere. We rate them as certainly the best locally and up there in the top three in the country.
