Sunday morning 9th January and we were awaiting the departure of our flight to Lanzarote from Exeter Airport. This cafe is located on the ground floor of the departure lounge and was the only catering facility open at the Airport. We ordered and paid for two Flat whites which were £2.70 each. Considering they were dispensed from a machine it took a long time to get our coffees. A bit disappointing that they were served in paper cups There was limited food here, which included croissants, pain and chocolat, crips and a bit more. No alcohol was on sale here.

Tuesday 18th August awaiting the departure of our Tui flight to Crete from Exeter Airport. There are 2 parts to this facility in the Departure Lounge. The first being a cafeteria selling snacks and drinks (no alcohol). For safety reasons part of the seating area was closed off, so limited space. It was here we purchased a packet of crisps, £1.40 and 2 bottles of diet coke £4.90, rather expensive, closer to rip off The second part is a bar near the Duty Free Shop, in another lounge. There was a notice on the bar stating that it was closed due to unforeseen circumstances. Maybe it as result of COVID 19 restrictions, it was unclear. Also no indication when the facility would reopen. Appreciate things are difficult at the moment and working practices are different, for safety reason, but this was not good. A number of people, had the right idea, they brought their food with them and ate it in the lounge.

Visited on way to catch a plane. Of course. Had the burger with chunky fries and coleslaw (£10) and the roasted veg pizza (£9). Our two teenager boys shared the burger. Looked like a proper butchers burger to me. Pizza had a bit of green salad with dressing too. Both dishes were really good and not over priced even for an airport. We were planning to stop at Exeter Services instead but glad we didn't. I'd certainly use it again.

Fed and watered is located between security and duty free within Exeter airport. It is a more relaxed place to wait for boarding than the main departure lounge spread as it is over two floors offering a variety of generally quiet seating options. Whilst the food looked perfectly acceptable we decided to just enjoy a tea and beer. Unfortunately as suggested by others service which was essentially counter order was very definitely not as good as it could have been.....

I came on here to check out the breakfast menu before my trip on Saturday, and was almost put off by the bad reviews. I decided this was probably a case of people on trip adviser having no perspective, and I was right. I had a delicious brunch, fast service and really helpful staff. Yes it wasnt a fancy restaurant, but it was an airport and I was completely satisfied. Its £9/10 for breakfast or brunch with a cup of tea. Really not a bad deal at all. People need to chill a bit and be grateful for the facilities!

Well done fed and watered you have just received your 19th terrible review surely this tells you something is not quite right! There was total confusion about the service, the food was less than average and the philosophy of this establishment seems to be take the money and sod the rest. Firstly I had no idea that you had to come and get your food from the counter like some sort of glorified school canteen, the food came along and was plonked down with no mention of where the condiments were and not even "enjoy your meal" I ended up paying nearly ten pound for a slice of bacon,a tomato, hashbrown and egg, the sausage was about room temperature, and the beans disgusting! when I complained the girl walked away while I was still talking, then she returned with a sorry. A used teapot and cup was on my table for the duration of my stay, and I sat with my half eaten meal in front of me for about half an hour! No one seems to care I would recommend you send all of your staff to a customer service course, three people standing behind the counter and dirty tables equals bad business. Not happy at all worst dining experience in many many years and I eat out a lot

So our flight is delayed by flymaybe. My partner went to buy a Cappuccino for us both. She was served by the Po faced barman. Hardly any eye contact and no niceties despite my girlfriend making an effort as she always would. He had an unfriendly abrupt manner when serving. "chocolate" he said staring at the till in front of him. Asking if we wanted chocolate sprinkled on top. When she asked if she could have a spoon he replied "only stirrers". To top it off ,the coffee was way too hot anyway. It wasn't the coffee shops fault that the plane was delayed but a little courtesy and kindness from the consession holder would have made all the difference. If they are happy to take travellers money they could use it to teach basic manners to their staff. Come on . Have a word with your staff please .

Ordered an Open Chicken sandwich for dinner during a period that wasn’t particularly busy (chef spent more time looking at the departures screen than in the kitchen- guess he had plans for the evening...) Dressing on lettuce leaves was bitter and lacked depth. ‘toasted’ sour dough bread was warmed on one side and untouched on the other Coleslaw tasted like it was out of a tub and sliced through a machine and not with a skilled chefs hand. Then it leads me to the point that disgusted me the most. The chicken. It was deep fried and so over cooked that the airport cutlery couldn’t cut through it. It’s texture was drier than beef jerky and had no flavour at all. Caramelised onion was okay taste wise, but burnt the inside of my mouth, whilst other parts were cold, suggesting it had been zapped in the microwave for way too long ... I’d never order this again.

First up & deserving of more than the two stars I given- the staff serving were really lovely. They were friendly & knowledgable when I quizzed them about getting a hot meal in time for my flight to France (little did I know I’d actually be delayed for 5 hours!) however I’m afraid that’s where the good part of the experience ended. Fed & Watered is snazzy modern-branded set up & seems like a risk worth taking when you’re hungry at the airport but goodness me did it under deliver on the food. Each item on the menu is cleverly written & so it actually took me a while to choose between the fresh sounding choices. I remember thinking how refreshing it was to see some interesting options on offer despite the usual ‘captive market’ atmosphere you get from such a food place in an airport or service station type set up. I knew I’d be paying over the odds but my final meal price was inexcusably steep for the reheated bricks it was. I think I was in shock as I paid like a zombie- before it arrived of course, assuming it was going to be tasty at the very least. I had two deep tan boulders of overcooked, dry with no particular flavour fishcakes, extremely oily chips with a side of limp again dry salad sliding around beside it. I could barely crack the fish cakes open they had been fried so hard & I left an almost untouched plate when I got up to leave- something I never do as I hate waste. By the time my meal had arrived I’d had the chance to sneak a look at around a dozen other meals around me- all of equal hurried, mediocre quality although granted I didn’t taste anything but my own. I felt genuinely ripped off. Had! What a shame! What missed potential! Fed & Watered bosses think Gloucester Services- it should be exciting that you have the power to please, even surprise your customers with some quality food! In the heart of Devon. Great food suppliers everywhere! For the sake of your brilliant staff and to be in with a chance of repeat custom- please up your food game.

The assistant was surly and clearly didn't enjoy his job - something away from the public might suit him better. The mocha - usually a mix of coffee and chocolate, so it has to be stirred before serving. I assumed this had been done but no, it was coffee on top, chocolate near the end of the mug. Surely not that difficult? Unfortunately, this place has a captive market, as people wait for flights. But so disappointing.

My boyfriend and I were due to depart Exeter to Edinburgh at 12.35. Unfortunately, due to techical difficulties our flight was delayed on 4 separate occasions and, eventually, at 13.11 we were told by tannoy announcement that our flight would not be departing until after 14.00. Upon hearing the announcement, we made our way to Fed & Watered, and ordered a soup of the day and fish and chips, which came to a total of £14.95. We paid this in cash. We were then given a "buzzer" and told that it would buzz once our food was ready. No sooner had we returned to our seats when another tannoy announcement at 13.20 stated, much to our surprise, that our flight to Edinburgh was boarding! We immediately advised staff of our situation and requested that our order be cancelled and our money refunded. The staff were unhelpful and unsympathetic. They showed little interest and advised us that our food had been cooked and thus they could box it up for us to take with us on our (crammed) flight. They categorically refused to refund us our money stated that as they are a third party service provider, they have no obligation to refund money where flight changes are made by the airlines/airport even though our buzzer had not buzzed to advise us that our food was ready. Needless to say, trying to carry food onto a full flight with various other bags and luggage was not a practical or in any way appealing option. We thus again tried to plead our case and request a refund. This was unforthcoming. We thus had to rush off to board our flight without food and minus £14.95.Whilst I appreciate that airline delays and flight changes are not the responsibility of the staff, I find it extremely hard to believe that our food had been prepared within less than 7 minutes of ordering, especially as we had received no notification of this prior to advising staff of our situation. We fly to and from Exeter at least twice a month and have used the cafe on many occasions. However, such was the customer service we received today that neither of us shall be using the cafe in future.

Tuesday 18th October and we were travelling to Dublin, from Exeter with Flybe, flight BE303 which was due to depart at 14.45. Unfortunately, the flight was delayed by 1 hour so we decided to have lunch in the restaurant part of Fed and Watered and not the bar.We found a clean table, a large number of tables need to be cleared and cleaned. We then ordered 2 steak sandwiches, £9.50 each, 1 latte £2.55 and a bottle of cola £2.05, the total cost of our meals came to £23.60. We asked for the coffee to be served with the food.We waited over 20 minutes for our food, a bit surprising as the restaurant was not that busy. When the food arrived it was strips of steak on a dry chiapetta bread with oily fried onions a bit of salad garnish and a pot of chips. The steak was fatty and gristley, there was some nice bits of meat but not a lot, the chips were nice, however overall it was very poor.As we were eating tables around us were being cleared of crockery and stuff and they were lucky to get a wipe down even though there was still food particles still there. There were 2 potted plants in the restaurant area, both were dead, nobody could be bothered to remove them, sums the place up.The bar area was no better, glasses on tables and on the floor waiting to be cleared in.A tip for travellers using Exeter Airport, bring your own sandwiches / snacks.

We got some information when we got back about the hygiene in the kitchen they we having a shake up in there and a one of the chefs has left but not the one whitch was cooking the food. I wounder if all the chefs have proper food hygiene skills and the rights skills City & Guilds? I bet not they don't even wear hats. Very poor Exeter airport sort out your food

After a previous bad experience at fed and watered Exeter airport, (soggy microwaved pizza), I mistakenly gave them another shot.Being breakfast I thought, "what can go wrong", I opted for the very expensive full breakfast, and my partner had salmon and scrambled eggs. All the items on my breakfast plate were semi warm with the exception of the fried eggs. I have a sneaky suspicion The sausage, bacon and baked beans are either pre cooked then reheated to order or are hot held for far to long at a low temperature, something here is not right. My partners salmon was tiny and the scrambled egg over cooked, I have no problem with microwaved scrambled eggs but the cooking time is really important.Food aside, the staff and service are incredulous , I've never met a more unithusiastic , uninspired bunch of folk. No welcome, no smiles, no eye contact. Ultimately I felt robbed, let down and speechless, I really couldn't wait to leave.I am a massive fan of all that the west country has to offer, come on guys surely we can offer more than this.

This is better than its equivalent at the much bigger Bristol airport although the lighting is initially a bit dim after the brightly lit security area! Yes its a tiny airport but these guys are trying very hard and actually tick all of the boxes so well done! I will be back that's for sure

OK so this is an airport departure lounge restaurant. It offers a reasonable selection of food and drinks and prices not as exorbitant as they could be. I had a breakfast bap where bacon was undercooked and sausage had very unusual flavour. Good to grab a drink or sandwich to take on flight, also good for coffee and tea. Upstairs has access to viewing lounge so some outside space.

I briefly visited Fed & Watered whilst waiting for a flight. It looks very nice indeed, much better than your average airport cafe/restaurant does anyway. However, I tasted perhaps the worst Americano coffee I've ever had the displeasure of being served. I also sat for 15-20 minutes at what wasn't a particularly busy time and watched tables left uncleaned and cluttered with left overs from other visitors. It's not that I expect high standards at airports, in fact I've seen much much worse. But either the beans used in my coffee were off or they were utter garbage, and the least they could do is tidy the tables up so patrons don't have to look at half finished meals for the duration of their stay.

Second visit here and food is nice. Such a shame though that some of the cutlery was dirty and the plate was so obviously unclean! Dried on red food stains under my scampi and chips. No way this wouldn’t have been noticed. Sorry, not acceptable for the money paid

I visited the restaurant alone and enjoyed cod, chips, peas, and curry sauce. The cod and chips were freshly made, crispy, and great quality. The curry sauce was spicy and the peas tasty. The service was attentive and courteous. All in all, a really good experience, and from observation, well supported and appreciated by a steady flow of local customers.

My wife and I have been enjoying this outstanding Fish Bar for over eight years now and have loved every bit of their consistently excellent products, thoughtful service and original atmosphere. We rate them as certainly the best locally and up there in the top three in the country.

We were staying in the area and after asking a taxi driver which was the best place for fish & chips, we were told here. On arrival (we drove there) the shop looks very modern, clean and like the pictures. There were a few people already waiting but we were quickly served, everyone seemed friendly and they appeared to have a good system in place! Considering the people before us and the selection we ordered, the wait wasn't too long. There were more people coming in and looked like collecting orders. The menu has a good variety & we went for a selection of bits to make up a meal. To feed a group of 3 with (I think!) 8 different options is was around £26 which isn't bad at all- they had a F&C meal offer which I think was about £10 also. The homemade onion rings were SO good! I'm guessing it would be a 5+ min drive to the beach from here, not sure walking distances as we were only in the area for a few days. We were happy and would go again if visiting again! Thank You :)
