The best restaurants serving Seafood food in East of England

I Feel the fish isn't as nice as in the past never really thought much of the chips but always thought the fish was so good ,really hard to find quality fish and chips these days

Not good had cod and chips yesterday poor piece of fish did not look nice and full of fat

Too long waiting for 2 pies, sausage and chips. Over 45 minutes wait. Got home and only got 1 pie. Food not hot left on hotplate. This is not the first time and as nice as some of the staff are if you continue to get orders wrong then they definitely will not be returning. Got a lady in there appeared so stressed and just rushing around and ended up getting orders wrong.

First time visiting and decently be the last food was horrible and give me stomach ache and bad guts and didn't have half of the stuff I asked for

I have eaten at Upstairs No. 1 quite a few times and the food is very good and reasonably priced. But I have one big gripe. The restaurant acoustics mean that it is very noisy. Small children chattering (and worse) loudly; the sound is amplified. Kitchen noises; amplified; even any quiet background; music; amplified. For me it meant I couldn’t enjoy the meal. it’s not a place to have a conversation. Maybe it’s the bare floor, I don’t know. I would imagine that anyone with a hearing aid or hearing impairment might find it uncomfortable. .

Great little find. If you’re passing by or out for the day. Always very good until this recent visit, items are cooked to order, not a problem but having to wait over 30 mins for fish and chips that were dark & over cooked, not enjoyable. Shame we shall have to find a shop closer to home.

Great Fish and Chip shop, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Everything very clean but shop retains a comfortable homely atmosphere. Best fish and chips we’ve had since our last visit in February, Lots of other menu options, Lovely to sit on the green overlooking the sea. Easy parking, and easy access to the beach and dog walks.

First time using this fish and chip shop and I can say it will be the last. Chips arnt great and curry sauce wasn't very nice , very watery with not much taste. Noticed employees serving and handling food with really long hair not tied back either . Hair probably going in everyone's food 🤢

The best fish and chips we'd had in a very long time! We picked these up as a takeaway after a very wet and windy walk. They were cooked fresh to order and were absolutely lovely, we would definitely use them again.

After a very long all I wanted was fish and chips. I arrived to find you are now cash only 😡 I hope you go bust or the tax man catches you out. Disgusting in 2025
