Eagerly awaited my Friday chip shop treat. This week I was indulging my Friday treat in Kirklee Run. The chippy had a huge fatheringmof customers which is always a great indication of things to come. Advertised in the window was their meal deals and for ÂŁ3.85 I had chips, 2x sausage and curry sauce. Piping hot and tasty was my overriding thoughts. They accept card as well which is always a winner... Returned to my favourite and fresh, hot and super tasty

First time using this fish and chip shop and I can say it will be the last. Chips arnt great and curry sauce wasn't very nice , very watery with not much taste. Noticed employees serving and handling food with really long hair not tied back either . Hair probably going in everyone's food đ€ą

Excellent fish... really flaky with light and crispy batter, very good crispy chips, and liked their mushy peas. Service was pleasant and seemed well organised. Tasted even better by the sea. Whilst it wasn't cheap, the portions were huge, and although only had small of each, we could have probably shared a portion of chips and peas between two of us. Would happily return.

I'm a regular customer as I live locally, we've always had great food from Henry's, I still can't fault much except lately the fish batter has been thick, pasty, doughy, greasy tasting, which is a shame as the fish used to be nice flaky thin batter, so I don't know what has happened, all the other food is great

Been going to the Clifton for over ten years, not staying but dining, drinks etc, spent an absolute fortune, always been friendly and great place, since itâs been took over what a change, we were here last year, only managed to get in once, place was dead, but staff say they only serving residents, now we we spend a few hingmdred pound a time and the place is dead, whatâs going on, staff rude , I hope the new owners see this review as we normally here in cromer 6 weeks or more a year, used to eat every day in here but never again will I return, been turned away, rudely too many times, good luck but I bet this place has lost a fortune, keep clear of the place head into cromer, much friendlier now

We ordered the homemade steak and mushroom pie, chips and peas. It was the best pie we have eaten in a long time. Plenty of the meat, extra tasty gravy and new potato chips. Definitely home made, such a wonderful meal to enjoy whilst on our day out. Will be going there again whenever we are in Great Yarmouth.

The Good - the fish and chips were lovely, when you eventually get them (see The Bad). The Bad - their food is made on order, so not like a conventional fish and chip shop where the food is pretty much already made and the service is fast. I was in the queue for probably 3 quarters of an hour (no exaggeration). As soon as youâre inside the shop, youâre asked what you want, which gives you a false sense of optimism. It just means your food is made on order though. Meanwhile, all the customers in front of you, once they start being served at the till, take about 10 minutes each. There is only one person serving and two people cooking. I understand why theyâre doing this - itâs to increase their margin and avoid wastage. But all that comes at a cost to the customer who suffers awful service. Maybe think about having two people on service and see your reviews regularly scoring 5.
