Bennetts End Fish Bar in Dacorum

The worse fish and chips I’ve ever had the fish was so over cooked. It was dry and awful. Will definitely not be returning. £25 was not cheap for something that was so inedible.

Had regular size cod and chips (x2) from here several times this year. The portions are large. The fish was white and flaky, and the batter was fresh and crisp. The chips are fantastic. All cooked to perfection. We always phone ahead so it is cooked to order. I see that they do not hold any fish in the warmer, so it is always fresh. I have used several fish and chip shops over the years and none of them are as good as this. Very Highly Recommended.

Had fish and chips from here last night and it was simply the best. The fish was white and flaky,a delicious batter cooked to perfection and chips were tasty and delicious. All cooked to order and it was fabulous and amazing. The chef knows how to cook great food the best in Hemel this place comes Very Highly Recommenced trust me from a x chef and from the capital of fish and chips Grimsby....Go try soon I’ll be back..

We've had fish and chips from the submarine over several months each time we've had perfectly cooked food with huge portions. Good value and very efficient and polite staff. Highly recommended.

Had medium cod and chips and the size of the fish was massive and the chips were more then a normal portion size from other local shops. Service is very good with friendly polite staff, and to top it all the prices are extremely good so if your in Hemel and fancy fish & chips or even burgers, chicken, pie and kebab you can't go wrong with this fish & chip shop

There is so much competition nowadays with outlets that sell fish and chips but is it possible to locate a shop that's a cut above the rest? Well it seems I've found one at Bennett Gate shops in Hemel Hempstead. You can tell the owner is passionate about his food and is a real character who has developed a great relationship with his customers. While waiting for my order you can see the rapport. It's not often you're asked by fish and chip shops how you want batter cooked - well you do here! I decided to try the plaice and have it crispy. Wow it was fantastic, the batter just melting and the fish so soft. A real treat!

Without doubt the best fish and chip shop in Hemel. Come here nearly every week, great food, great value, friendly staff.

Got my tea from here today and once again it was great very tasty and yummy and crispy battered fish. Lovely chips and a wonderful meal thanks guys. Was previously bennets gate fish bar, now under new management and had a refurb - much, much better than before. Having tried the others in the vicinity, this is my go to for fish & chips

Called here tonight to try as used to go to the old fish shop here and the fish and chips was excellent. Excellent batter and crispy throughout and a very tasty piece of fish. The chips were also excellent and tasty and really good. Great staff and very attentive and the fish was enormous. From someone who loves excellent fish and chips from hometown of Grimsby this was the best so far. Great job guys looking forward to visiting again very very soon. 10 out of 10 ....

As locals, we have been enjoying occasional fish and chip suppers from here over the past 30 years. The fish is always excellent, with lovely crispy batter and very freshly cooked. Servings are very generous, and 1 x serving of chips is more than sufficient for the 2 of us.

Really lovely cod and chips the best, , friendly staff and good prices, what more do you want. My chippie of choice from now on.

The fish and chips at this take away is great. The staff are friendly, happy to help and more importantly these guys will do fish the way you want it. Steamed, dusted with flour, and of course in batter. Oh! lose fitting elasticated pants are a must when ordering here as the portions are huge. Enjoy!

I come here very often and the staff are always friendly and talkative, Good atmosphere and the food is always brilliant, the only thing I would criticise is the the food can sometimes take some time during peak hours

I've been frequenting the fish bar for a good month or so and have certainly been enjoying the range of food available. However, recently, I have found long hairs in the chips (which is utterly unacceptable). The decor is also sub-par. Needless to say, I shan't be returning.

I had been out late and knew I was on my own for my evening meal so I popped in on the off chance. I was more than pleased that the very pleasant staff warned me there would be a slight wait as my fish was going to be cooked while I waited.

Not bad fish and chips. We all have our own taste and thoughts on how it should be cooked. chips were lovely and fluffy inside. fish nicely cooked batter a little soft. nice clean premises

Pensé que me gustaría probar este "fish and chips" para un cambio, me he traído pescado y patatas fritas aquí el viernes y me decepcionó mucho las patatas fritas no tenía sabor a ellos y el pescado estaba lejos de greasey también era muy caro!...

Estupendo pescado y patatas fritas. Feria y sencillo. ¿qué más puedo decir? Las cebollas y pepinillos en escabeche son allí si te apetece. Creo que incluso vimos unos huevos pickled_nmp. Pescado precioso De todos modos - y patatas fritas.

Fue malo antes, pero al menos comestible. Todavía no hay nada preparado, ni siquiera salchichas! La única cosa era savaloys, literalmente en comestible y frío para las botas. Sólo se puede comparar con el peor perro caliente que he tenido. Ha cambiado la salsa de curry y es vergonzoso. El nuevo personal y lo hizo diez veces peor. "fish and chips" de nuevo para mí

Fish fried to order so lovely and fresh and crispy. Large portions and value for money. Just a shame about the sad chips. No colour or flavour.

Ok, it's only a fish and chip shop but I didn't think it was all that..only kebabs on offer were doner, not Shish and the fish and chips was decidedly average..it offered the usual pies etc and the staff were friendly enough but I'd rather go down the road to the chippy down at the Denes which has more options and all cooked perfectly

Friendly staff, fish cooked fresh while you wait, prices are average but the cost is creeping up everywhere.I would certainly recommend this chippie if fish n chips are your want :-)
