Fish and chips. Was expecting a normal portion size but the fish may as well been served in a sardine tin it was that small. And for £15 you expect the fish to fill the box. Instead I got a mound of chips to fill the void. Food was tasty but your fish was below par. Suggest you change supplier. Sticking to the chippy in Epping.

New management in the last couple of months. Very friendly service and they really go the distance to please the customer! Fish & Chips are always freshly made and fried to perfection! I haven't had a bad meal here yet! They definitely deserve 5 Stars!

I tried their fish & chips and it was phenomenal. They always cook fresh fish. Their curry sauce is one of the best curry sauces I have ever tried. You should definitely give it a go if you’re around Hertford.

Been living in Hertford for 13 years we have been on ordered from all fish n chip shops in all surrounding areas. Frying pan is by far the most friendly and best cod for the money. Highly recommended

Food was very nice. Again I went in and ordered my food. Ordering food online via apps or phoning up restaurants takeaway services that's where the mistakes happen. Maybe this is why my food is always top-notch.

I went here and got a battered sausage and chips and all I can say is wow. This was just wonderful. I spent £4 and got a huge portion of chips to feed me and also my friend it was so great I went back for 2 days in a row and now go back frequently. The staff are really nice and we chatted about football. We talked about the Turkish rivalry between 2 teams and Tottenham and arsenal. It was a really nice experience and the food is wonderful.I highly recommend going here as it would be great to make the business bigger and for everyone to enjoy the food that was made. It was really nice and I’m going back on Monday. I love having chats whilst they make my food and I pay them such a small amount of money for such a large amount of food. Thankyou so much I love this place

I always get take away food from Frying Pan, their fish and chips are the best I’ve eaten in a long time. Ive about had most of their menu over time, everything is always fresh and cooked perfectly 🙏🏻👍 If you want a great take out meal, don’t waste your time looking anywhere else! The guys look after you and very often even give you extra bits - they are super friendly and love what they do. 💥👍👍

Really friendly staff, good customer service and nice food. It’s my favourite fish and chips in hertford. I especially like that the fish and chips combo comes in box, so it doesn’t get soggy. They also have paper bags instead of plastic.

My partner and I drove past our usual Fish and Chip takeaway,and the queue was so large that we suggested coming here. To our surprise it was almost empty. It's under new management and it really shows! We got home with our cod,large chips and sausage,and the quality was unreal. Not only do you get a decent portion,but I found myself leaving none of the fish whatsoever! Usually I would need to leave a lot of batter and there's not enough fish inside. This fish however,(as well as everything else) was probably the freshest I've ever had! So much so that we went back the following week for more. The guys who now run it are not only friendly,kind and helpful,but you can tell they really do care about the food they're cooking. They're well worth a visit if you're walking through town or you're stuck on what to have!

Lovely staff who take care of their customers

The chips were 'blonde' not golden brown. We bought them wrapped so did not realise untill we had returned home, chips also tasted odd, might be the oil. In the future we will stick with the 'The Sea Tree' in Ware even though it is further to go.

Hugely disappointed. I'd not been there for quite a few years but went back and wish I hadn't - the food I was served wasn't freshly made (tasted a day or so old) and didn't dare finish the battered sausage. It tasted stale and must've been pre-made by quite some time. Maybe it was a one off, hense not being 1 star at this stage. I used to love this place years ago and hope it returns to form soon.

Emrah and his team were great, they produced 80 Fish and Chips and delivered on time to our event and everyone commented on how good the quality of the food was. Emrah was in constant contact with us and kindly provided us all the condiments as well. We would not hesitate to use them again Well don Emrah and team

We use it as our regular. The chips are soft but we’ve never had them ‘soggy’. And the fish and chicken has always been exactly what you’d want from a chip shop. It’s not breaking the mold or doing things differently. But if you want a reliable chippy, I’d definitely give this a go.

Now that's what I am talking about the best choppy in Hertford by a long shot. Cheap as chips lol And get loads for your money, I always stop here after work, I hope no one finds out.

Nice friendly people doing great work. Clean and tidy, the fish and scampi are really good and most importantly they have REAL potato chips , not the frozen imitation other places use. Would definitely recommend !

Verdaderamente terrible, pescado, patatas fritas horrible hecha. En realidad, pagamos bastante por £17 para dos. La mayoría era binned! No comer pescado y patatas fritas a menudo pero no como ellos nunca volveré de nuevo a este lugar. Nunca lleno y no tengo ni idea de cómo están todavía en negocios!

The chips are nothing more than greasy and undercooked.Yes you get a massive portion but after a couple if chips you'd rather throw them away.Not sure if the oil is being changed regularly as the food does smell a bit and doesn't taste fresh.I wouldn't recommend this place for good old fish & chips

Purchased a bag of chips at 12.30pm, just after they had opened, therefore they should have been freshly cooked, however, they were soggy, greasy and luke warm, probably re-heated from the night before, just put them in the nearest bin... will NEVER bother with this place again

We've been purchasing fish and chips from here, for many years. Always fresh chips and the staff are great. Everyone parks just outside, although there is the carpark in the park, opposite.

Mi esposa y yo Estábamos compras en Hertford. Tanto nos apetecía una bolsa de patatas fritas. Después nos encontramos con " La sartén "Fish and chips". Compramos dos bolsas de patatas fritas Para Llevar. Luego sábado en el parque frente al pescado tienda. Para Devorar Nuestra patatas fritas. Que eran preciosas, la mejor patatas fritas que probado durante años y muchos de ellos. Tarda una media hora para comer. El personal era muy amable y servicial. Me encanta las cosas Simples de la vida son el mejor.

Stopped using this fish & chip shop as food really greasy and chips always very pale and under cooked.

Had a large portion of chips and they were disgusting. Dry as a bone and probably hours old. At £2.50 I expect better than that. If I wanted a portion of warm crisps I would have gone next door. Absolute pants.

Lo peor no sólo en la ciudad, pero lo peor de todos los que he probado. No me porciones equivocadas son grandes pero la calidad es parada. Burger en apestaba a sacudir y asqueroso probado chuletas donde pasada y sin sabor. Recomiendo cambiar aceite más frecuente como te puedes imaginar es viejo aceite. No te molestes en intentarlo otra vez

Opposite Hertford Theatre we enjoyed very tasty fish and chips. We had a small cod and small chips for £6 which made a filling meal. Nice presentation in a cardboard box instead of polystyrene and we could sit in a small seating area. Friendly staff..
