Wow. What a real gem to find in the middle of a residential area. Very reasonably priced and cooked the proper way. Even served up in newspapers! Very pleased to have found this and I highly recommend

I visited this charming fish and chip shop and ordered a medium cod with kiddy-sized chips having read lots of good reviews. The cod was perfectly cooked, and the chips were nice. I liked how it was all wrapped, very traditional. A truly satisfying experience for any fish and chips enthusiast!

Beautifully browned chips, not the often found white, underdone, get em in and get em out quick chips you see at other chippies. He takes his time and cooks them how they should be. The XL fish is humongous and probably the cheapest in the town. The guy running it is super friendly, too.

Pip’s is just great. The food, the service, the whole package. A real hidden gem and a must visit when in Lowestoft. If I could give it 6 stars, I absolutely would. Yum!

phone thru order for 6pm only because they do plaice roe large chip and haddock arrived 5,55 at 10 past 6 he serves a regular his order first witch was more than my order the regular even gave me abuse i walked out disgusting the owner say he 6 pm as well.I was there first wasted 15mins each way and 10 min wait 40mins wasted of my time as he needs to get his house in order will never return what a joke . allso i will worn al onl my facebook

The worst chips 🍟 I’ve ever had. Never go back again, as it seems they was re heated from the night before. Got home to cold soggy and grey chips that I had to throw in the bin. Safe to say I haven’t been back.

One of my worst experiences, yet- despite being a loyal customer. Even a world wide pandemic won’t stop these people from taking your money-

Ignore "Martin B", he doesn't know what he's talking about. Who likes soggy chips?! Bleh! I have used other chip shops (when Pip's is closed) in town with my order and could smell a fishy smell even through the paper. If you can smell the fish, its not fresh. This chip shop does lovely, perfectly fried chips and fresh fish straight from the market in the crispiest batter, all at a very reasonable price. Everything is cooked to order and Pip is a really nice bloke, very friendly and loves a good yarn while you wait for him to cook it. And he always asks if you'd like scraps! ; ) There are often special catches on (keep an eye out for Whiting - a locally caught fish, delicious and criminally underrated!) and when they're gone, they're gone...because Pip buys only fresh.

Do not look at the decor. Pip talks a lot and takes time in cooking fresh your fish. Worth waiting for. Had plaice roe with other cod and skate. All good. Heaps of roe. Shop out of the way but worth a visit.

Highly recommend Try the plaice roe if in season excellent People travel for mile to get some.

chips was pointy , sharp , scrappy, you could pick a chip up with a sodding chip, they stuck in your gums and the roof of your mouth, but then again I have realised its the same at every fish an chip shop crap chips because in Suffolk they avnt a bloody clue how to make chips , they sould be long , soft , moist, so when you hold a chip out it slowly flops and when eaten it don't stickl in your sodding roof of your mouth.

tucked away in a little back street is this fish and chip shop. very good food and a reasonable price. the plaice roes when in season are to die for.

As Fish and chips shops go this is one of those that you need to miss the fish is at the best of times not cooked properly and is very boney and the chips are always like warm to cold not at all what you would expect for the over inflated prices and the owner can be very abrupt and rude obviously not as busy as it was many years ago when eating fish and chips from here was an enjoyable experience today you end up throwing most of it away I also recommend to be on your guard with the owner ad he can sometimes be very abrupt and rude to the customers I know many people who now stay away.

Good size and variety of fish and chips for a very reasonable price. I've come here many many times and the batter is always crisp and fish never over cooked. Same with the chips! The owner usually manages this on his own; customer service is good as he always seems jolly and there to please customers. Waiting time is reasonable; everything other than the chips are cooked to order. And the homemade curry sauce is great (it includes sultanas which is my favourite type of curry sauce!) The portions are massive!! I would say a large chips is plenty for 3 - 4 adults and a large fish can be shared between two! Overall, great chippy and I'd recommend to others!

As the title states one of the best chip shops in town, everything is cooked to order so is as fresh as it can be. A small chips is adequate for most people and a large enough to share. A small piece of fish is from £3 and they go upto xl which is big... very big!! Only for the hungry.

Don't judge a book by the cover, this looks a grotty dive from the outside, but the grub is excellent and prices are sensible.
