It's a fantastic chippy. Chick nuggets are excellent. Fish is fresh and well cooked and battered. Chips are very tasty. Would be great if they served gravy. Would recommend if you're in the area and fancy a good fish and chips.

Definitely gone downhill. Chips are not as nice as they once were and cod not as good quality or size. Last chip shop in Halesworth so they don't have to try.

Disappointed with our dinner, given two stars as it was quick at least. The handle of the bag broke on the way back to the car, perhaps don’t squeeze so much in one small bag or invest in a better quality bag! Arriving home five minutes later to find the fish had split open all over the chips - not the end of the world so I served it up anyway. The fish was tasteless with a soggy batter and the paper it was wrapped in was dripping with grease. And it’s not cheap either! I had been craving a fish and chips so disappointed it didn’t hit the spot. I’ll stick to talulahs next time!

Freshly cooked fish that was tasty, coupled with a decent portion of chips accompanied by a spicy curry sauce( traditional for a North East person). Friendly staff, I would recommend this place( or should that be plaice😂). Although fairly expensive(£20 for 2), fish and potatoes have gone up in cost, it was good quality, not greasy and as a treat worth it.

Not a bad effort at all. Fish was very reasonably priced but not enormous. For the money good value. Cooked perfectly with no soggy batter. Chips were good although not as hot as they could have been. Not at all greasy or oily. Will I return - Yes. Overall very good and reasonably priced compared with my local chippies.

Haven't visited for a couple of years but it has definitely gone downhill here. Dry and tasteless fish, poor chips. A real shame as it was previously a hidden gem

Love going here, great staff and food. It was rammed as it was a Friday night but this didn’t daunt them. They still had a smile on their faces. But you always get one customer who has to be rude. Fridays are busy. If you don’t want to wait, stay at home. Gave us all a bit of entertainment while we were waiting

We are visiting from Somerset and have just had the best fish and chips ever! We had Cod, Plaice and Haddock and they were all excellent. The fish was fresh, with crispy batter and the chips were lovely too. Will definitely return.

Fish and chips was lovely, had lowestoft pier ones last week, nowhere near as nice as seashell.

Once again we visited Seashells for our weekly fish and chip lunch to takeaway. Once again the food was superb. The fish was perfectly cooked in a nice crispy batter. The chips were new potatoes cooked to perfection. The service was as always brilliant and friendly. Well done to all members of staff who work there.

We returned to this fish and chip shop after a visit a few years ago when it was simply the best fish supper that we had ever had. Something awful has happened - the batter was soggy, the fish tasteless and the shop looked tatty and dirty. It looked as though new people were running it and it was just a different place altogether. To say it had gone down hill is an understatement - It had gone down hill and kept on going when it got there. Very sad, we were really looking forward to it.

Tasty food, good value, pleasant service.

My wife and I visited seashells for our seniors lunch to take away. The meal was superb. The fish was perfectly cooked and the chips were the best we have had for a long time. The staff are always pleasant and efficient. Well done to you all.

Used to be a lovely, friendly fish & chip shop. Tonight, for the first time, the new management rudely said I could not wait inside with my small, well-behaved dog. Instead I had to stand outside in a freezing wind. Then both the fish batter and the chips were completely soggy, yuk! Not a happy experience, they've lost me as a regular customer.

Luke warm greasy cod batter very soggy,the chips undercooked. Very expensive meal £9.40p for myself as a pensioner to to throw away as it was inedible.

Worst fish & chips I’ve ever had. Batter was pale and soggy and fell apart, there wasn’t one crispy piece at all. Chips were awful, like cardboard. Food was also just about luke warm. Not cheap either, £19 wasted as food was inedible.

Had Haddock and chips, what could possibly go wrong! Well the chips were the driest and undercooked even a large dollop of sauce didn’t help. The fish was completely tasteless and covered with a inedible batter. Expensive too, better off getting some from to co-op and getting the air fryer out.

The shop changed hands since my 5 star review and the quality has fallen from what it was.

Again, beautifully cooked fish and chips. All the times we have been it has been very good. But now it is getting too expensive, its got to be some very special occasion to buy them. Last time we went it was £16and a few pence for a medium cod and chips and a large cod and chips, its now £19.80.

Loved it. Just moved to area and after reading rave reviews decided to try as well. Glad we did. I had a Large Cod and large chips to go. All beautifully cooked and very good quality. And at just under a tenner, cheaper than my old neck of the woods. We will be be regulars for sure. 👍

My pie wasn't hot, less than warm. You order then wait for your food, trouble is they put the pie in the bag straight away then there was a ten minute wait.

The best, but ask Carl to 'blanch' the chips. Now under new management and just as good but the chips still need 'blanching'.

Three times had excellent senior portions from this fish and chip shop. Would thoroughly recommend a visit and also great value.

Popped in for fish & chips on the way home after a long walk today. First time we have used the local fish & chip shop since moving to Halesworth. We were not disappointed 2 x cod & chips with mushy peas. Two clean plates at the end of our meals says enough. Would recommend to family & friends.

First visit. Fish and chips were excellent and good portions. Chicken burgers also good. It was a Friday evening when we went and the place was very busy. Well done to the team.

Best fish and chip shop for miles! Food is always fresh, cooked in fresh oil, not at all greasy or sickly. Great prices and variety of menu items and all food is of high quality and delicious, no cutting corners for these guys. Staff are all very friendly, food is cooked promptly and restaurant is always clean and welcoming. Highly recommend Seashells, they really go the length to satisfy all customers.

Got two medium cod and chips( and being northern some curry sauce) for a reasonable 17.00. Freshly cooked by Adem and his cheery team, it was tasty, not greasy and a decent size portion. Don't have fish and chips often, this was a tasty treat. Would recommend to others to try

Really really delicious. Generous portions of very fresh and perfectly cooked cod and haddock. Light crispy batter, non-greasy tasty chips, efficient takeaway telephone order, friendly service. Marvellous to have such a high quality chippie in my home town.

We had a disappointing meal from here recently. Previously the food has always been excellent and tasty and well cooked but this time it wasn’t. The chips were rather overcooked and the batter on the fish was not cooked all over as it should be.

Been thier few times and 9/10 chips are good. Never liked cod but enjoy thiers. Unfortunately not a fan of the sausages but very good chip shop.

I don’t often eat fish & chips as the chips tend to be a bit soggy, with bland fish portions, at an unappealing price. Seashell is so different to all of that! I just had the warmest welcome (I thought the lady there thought she knew me!), my order was taken, paid for and I was out in a very few minutes and I left with the impression they genuinely appreciated my small order. Most importantly, the fish and the chips were sublime. Something about them made them amongst the best I have ever tasted. I don’t make such recommendations lightly. Thank you, I shall be back for more!

Was worried when this place changed hands but tried out under the new management and food was as excellent as before. So such a dissapointment on our last visit. The fish was fine but batter was soggy. Even worse were the sausages in batter as for some reason there was very little batter on them at all . The sausages were on show under about 20 per cent batter and why they were served like this i do not know. The fact that they got it right before means standards have slipped already.

Waiting for my train and looking for somewhere to eat, found this place coincidentally. Such lovely and friendly people! And fish and chips were honestly the most delicious, both were just right. Absolutely amazing place friendly staff and great facilities

A few friends and I were walking past the shop and all I said to my sister was ' how could you make me walk past here the smell is delicious' bearing in mind we had just had lunch. As we passed a young man came out from the shop with a large bag of chips and said 'I heard your conversation please have these on the house'.. we were all astounded. But thoroughly enjoyed them on our way home.What a lovely gesture so uncommon these days. By the way the chips were probably the best I've had for such a long time. Whoever it was a big thank you and 'we will definately be back soon'. Thank you so much xxx

Fantastic visit to an excellent fish and chip shop. Really good to be “sitting in” again after nearly a year of various Covid rules and regs. Haddock was lovely, white and meaty and chips perfect. Battered sausage also happily digested. All complimented by a NZ...

Called in last week whilst holidaying in the area. We had two senior’s , the rest of our party had normal fish, chips, peas, sausage, fish cake etc. The food is excellent in quality and portion size. It would appear to be a family business...

This is my regular fish and chip shop. Under new management and what a massive improvement!! The fish is always very fresh, the batter is cooked to perfection and the chips are absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are EXTREMELY generous, there is usually always leftovers...

The new owners are very nice friendly people with a quick service and lovely tasty food. The chips are exactly how I like them, good quality potatoes fried in vegetable oil that don't taste of fish! 👍

Oh dear, going downhill rapidly. It used to be such a great place.

Visited again since new owners and not much has changed if anything it's worse more expensive if you want chips opened they give you a bag that gets soggy and tear if you have vinegar with them.

We moved to the area (or 12 miles away to be exact) in Nov '20. Having tried the more local Trawlers Catch in Saxmundham and had the most disgusting fish'n'chips ever I found this place and we've been coming back regularly. The service is great....

The best fish and chip shop in the local area by far. The new owners have done a fantastic job, they are always so efficient and polite even when it is really busy. The fish and jobs are brilliant and the portion sizes are enormous!! 10/10

It was the best piece of skate I've ever had. Room for improvement on the chips. A tad to soggy for my liking.
