They used to be good, but now unfortunately the worst place to take food from. That’s my second time in ate from them and get stomach pain i believe the place not clean

Delicious authentic restaurant with friendly welcoming staff who knew the menu well and were able to give recommendations. I don’t have more photos because we ate the food too fast.

Had a hummus in pitta salad, and chips, at The Helston Grill last night, and my goodness, it was the best thing I've eaten in ages. Perfectly balanced, plentiful. The hummus was delicious, the pickled white cabbage the best I've ever eaten. Chips were hot, and really tasty. Thank you for a wonderful meal

Lovely restaurant decor very nice very comfortable , lovely food staff very friendly nice for Sunday lunch a choice of 3, starters , carvery of 2 meats or chicken , or fish from the kitchen , very nice list of deserts we had blackberry, Apple crumble and custard delicious 😋 really recommend this place for some thing to eat

Had lunch here today, absolutely gorgeous food. Customer service was perfect nothing was to much trouble.

Happened upon this place at random and had the early bird 3 course. There was 2 of us. We walked in and were the only people in there. We were met with a fusty smell (ultimately this didn't matter as the review is still 5 stars). It was silent as we came in but upon seating some ambient music was put on which was nice. The lady was served us was attentive and very pleasant, the timing of the food and spacing between courses was good. We had the soup of day (red pepper and tomato) and pate (stilton) for starters, steak stroganoff and crispy pork belly for main and sticky toffee pudding and baked cheesecake for dessert. The dishes aren't big but they're not small either. The food is presented very nicely and the soup came with a lovely warm roll. The stroganoff was so very tasty, the beef melting away nicely and the pork belly showing a lovely crisp to it with a healthy selection of veg and potatoes. Seasoning is on the table, presumably for you to do to taste. Whilst usually a bigger eater, the servings being a little small mattered not as they were very flavourful so that having a large portion may have been too rich so I actually agree with the portion sizes. I was debating a 4* solely due to the fusty smell upon entry but I don't know if its a fixable problem and tbh, you get used to it after a couple mins. Ultimately that doesn't detract away the fact I really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere (even though we were the only ones in), the service and the price and that I would happily return.

Not a great experience, the food was average! No atmosphere, the waitress was not very friendly or personable. Everything felt like a chore. Tapas Prawns were ok, salad, little gem and tomatoes with a few sunflower seeds, uninspiring and lacking taste. Albondigas (meatballs). Raw in the middle, I told the guy behind the bar, he just told the waitress to get the kitchen to get another, no apology or explanation! Second portion arrived, raw in the middle again. I returned them to the guy, he was nonplussed and said did I want something else. I did not. I would say don’t bother and I will not be returning or recommending.

Horrendous service. Staff totally uninterested. No interaction from them when entering, no menus offered. Took ages to get drinks, never returned with sugar for a coffee or even to take food order. Eventually got up and left - it was not busy! Avoid - If I could give no stars I would!

Brunch visit. Decor is cool with Japanese motifs & lanterns hanging from ceiling. Seating is communal bench, tables & bar styles. Ordered Classic Eggs Benedict with side of Grandad's sausages. This was superb, sausages were to die for, very tasty. Daughter had the Breakfast Stack again very fresh and tasty. Breakfast Tea was strong & hot. Service was quick & the place was popular.

Ahhh the breakfast was amazing! Proper sausages and perfectly cooked eggs, couldn't fault it at all.

Many thanks to all at The Rising Deer for helping us celebrate Dad's 90th Birthday. Special thanks to Caroline who took the booking and dealt with the various queries re food allergies and dietary needs before and on the day. All 20 of us were very happy with our meals, especially those that had Cod and Chips, and Steak Pie and Chips. There was a slight issue when we found there was no Lemon Meringue Pie, which is my sister's favourite, however she was very happy with the Black Forest Gateau and said it was probably the best she's ever had. A fantastic cafe with real food. There is a great selection of food and drink to choose from at a really reasonable price and also tastes great. There is a good amount of seating and service is very efficient.

Delicious food as always here at Ellie’s. The restaurant is always comfortable and with beautiful surroundings but at the moment with the Christmas Decorations it looks absolutely magical. Service was great, very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend dining here.
