Little independent place on Park Street. The decor was nice, a few vampyric mannequins to greet you, and gothic style interior. Looked like they had a good selection of drinks. The veggie burger was OK, though didn't have a pattie so was more a £13 roasted vegetable sandwich. No low alcohol beers and not accessible. The meat options looked a lot more enticing than the veggie ones. Quite a few narrow steps to get in, so sadly don't think it's accessible to wheelchair users.

We were the only people dining on a Saturday night which didn't fill us with confidence. Vegan sharing platter was very overpriced coming to £26 for a bit of bread, veg and dips, really poor effort. Decor was quite tacky but fun, nice drinks, strange experience all in all, shan't return.

Drove 2 hours to eat here, £13 for a soup ? I mean ok if it’s really good yes…. But it was mediocre at best. Waiter was unwelcoming and uninvolved, music ? Drum and bass with dracula theme, no romanian beer. I must say, the “pastrama de berbecut cu mamaliga” was very very good, for that it was worth it!

Unfortunately I don’t have anything good to say about this restaurant. We visited on a Friday evening and we were the only people in the restaurant, which says a lot. Even though we were the only people there we were seated in the back corner, instead of one of the bigger booths which would have been lovely. The service was terrible, our waiter was rude. I ordered a glass of Prosecco and got a warm glass of white wine. We ordered our meals and ordered a basket of bread and our waiter refused to take that order, saying we didn’t need bread. The meal was inedible. Will not be visiting this restaurant again.

It was an interesting experience. It wasn't my choice of restaurant, I came along with a friend. For sure Romanian-style food like homemade.

Every Bristol visit I make has to include Transylvania. The food is prepared to order and consequently tastes very special. The staff are brilliant and have good suggestions and explanations to offer. This visit we tried the ‘starters’ - and were delighted with them too. I can only look forward to another visit soon.

AVOID PLEASE ! Me and my boyfriend called the restaurant to see if there is any space for us and to ask for a place to park, the guy that answered sounded very friendly. As soon as we got in there walking up the stairs a smell of smoke hit us and the staff didn’t said hello or welcomed us or even give a smile. The water tasted of chlorine, the side plates were dirty and the sharing platter for two came out cold and some things were missing. There was also another couple sitting close to us, getting loud notifications on their phones and watching videos on full blast, and the staff would not say anything to them. Not to mention that the place is overpriced starting from the atmosphere to music and food.

Rude staff, terrible service, dirty plates and the smell of cigarette smoke wafting through. The sarmale are good but the beers are overpriced the water tastes of bleach.

The place is entertaining only with the decorations. The choice of music playing was Romanian pop music which doesn't match the atmosphere they are trying to create. Worst was the portion size, it was the smallest chicken breast I have ever seen, child size. The vegetables cut so thin I could see through them and the mash was butter scoop sizes.

The restaurant was atmospheric, the service exceptional, the food superb (and the staff made an extra effort to find 'gluten-free' for another customer). I was seriously impressed. Third visit planned, as soon as I get back to Bristol.

Waiting staff very friendly. A decent sized vegan menu, much better than most restaurants. Sadly no brownie but our main courses were lovely. And very good juices and lemonade. I think they might be best to lose the Dracula theme and just style themselves as a Romanian restaurant. The food is good enough not to need the gimmicks. Personally I liked it but I know many people wouldn’t. Would definitely recommend it.

We arrived on a Tuesday evening with nobody else in sight. The restaurant is a stereotypical interpretation of anything vampire related and it still misses the point. From fake bat stickers on the ceiling, to broken flickering electric candles, the restaurant feels like a caricature of Dracula’s PR agency. We repeatedly had to get the waiters attention to order, get the bill or pay. Considering we were the only table in the restaurant if felt like we were bothering the waiter’s evening session of Candy Crush. Items on the menu were not available and we did not find out until ordering. The first round of soup ordered contained meat and was taken back even though we ordered it based on the vegan menu available at the entrance. I can attest that the food is authentic and tastes as if it was made by a grandma. The desert, papanasi, is the only thing that I would actually recommend and they make up for a full star in the review. Considering the ingredients and the dishes the prices are high. These are restaurant prices but street corner takeaway quality and service. Overall regret bringing people to this restaurant and would not recommend unless you specifically are looking for papanasi.

Order on Uber eats despite the bad reviews as I love Romanian food what a surprise that I got a completely different menu based on 3soups the same, when I ordered dessert(papanasi), one soup and two mititei, he just came and asked for the code before giving it to me and then quickly got back on his motorbike. They didn't put any name or receipt on it and when I tried to call it's "not available", what a pity..I just want my money back don't even want to try what's in there.

I was here with some friends, the food was excellent, the service was fast and very good and the staff took care of us and made sure everything was fine. I recommend 100% and we will definitely come again. You need to try Dracula’s Feast if you come, trust me.

A different place to eat with decor inkeeping with stereotypes of Transylvania, with lots of red and black. Staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when I butchered the pronunciation of my meal. The menu had lots of choices and we had the vegetarian pasta which was very filling and very tasty and the sausage, polenta, pickles and cannelli beans, not something you see in a restaurant but was a really nice meal, love pickles anyway, but the sausage dipped in the polenta was lush.

On uber eats so bad, I pay 33£ for 4 dishes including dessert and got a very different delivery with three random soups that looks the same and not very nice I'm not even going to taste it.

I have made a booking for my birthday 4 days ago, and they just decided to cancel my booking on the booking day when just 3 hours left to go there, and they said that by mistake everything was fully booked before taking my booking, but apparently from other 1 star reviews they just decided to host a party. They canceled my reservation 3 hours before, a reservation I made 4 days before for my birthday. Now it's Saturday at 17:30 and I can't find anything available...... Very unserious!

I admit that wasn't my cup of tea, but I can say the quality of the ingredients is very good, I tried the Romanian wine and it was delicious, my friend was happy too despite our preferences

I went there for a stand up show and a nice dinner on a Saturday evening. We booked a table from 21.00 but when we arrived there our table was not vacant till almost 22.00 hours. The stand up show was fantastic but the food and service absolutely awful: the tribe soup was tasteless and the lion steaks was burned black on one side. No condiments on the table ,the wine was warm and no ice for it. The majority of the products and drinks on the menu was missing being forced to order from a short list of available ones. Some of the staff not properly dressed for a location like that,their outfits was more suitable for a club but not for a restaurant! Very disappointed, first and last time there!

Made a booking for 5pm when the diner opened. Walked into a small dark room filled with people (was clearly fully booked and unwelcoming). Nobody made any effort to show us where to go, to seat us, or to even greet us. After being laughed at by staff, we decided to leave and as we did he cursed at us very rudely. Would not recommend, anything but a welcoming atmosphere. When we came out to arrange to eat somewhere else, a few more people walked in, and straight out again shaking their heads.

This was a huge surprise, slightly hidden away on a first floor but full of great ambiance, superb service and fantastic food. It was high quality, prepared on the spot (not in advance and just heated up). Delightful. We went the second night too as it was so good.

I was extremely let down by the service. we booked this for my 30th birthday with a booking of 9 people. when we arrived the young man couldn't find our booking. we had already pre ordered food and sent menus over prior to this. 1 hour we waited and still no sign of food only to realise we had to reorder again. when food come out they forgot 1 of our party so we had to ask again for his meal which came out when everyone else had finished their dinner. the food quality was average. when we complained to the management. granted he gave us all a free glass of prosseco each to say sorry. it's such a beautiful restaurant and has such potential but it needs serious work on its service and food quality.

Poor service and quality of the food. Table wasn't served upon arrival and long waiting time. We spent about 30 min. waiting for the waiter to come.

It was just plain bad. We had to wait 40 minutes before they brought us the menu and they only gave us the drinks menu. The staff were rude and ignored us and they basically forgot about us. Don't recommend going on Christmas

The table next to us were waiting forever for a menu when we had arrived after them. We then waited 20 minutes before being offered drinks. The food was poor and expensive for what it what. I had the chicken, which was basically supermarket quality chicken and chips (I wasn't offered the mash which was on the menu) But the worst part of the evening was when my partner was given a soup from the vegan menu which contained meat. This was the first time in 22 years that she had eaten meat and there was little in the way of an apology from the staff. At this point we were pretty much done with the whole experience so decided to leave. After asking for the bill, we had to wait another 25 minutes before deciding to go to the bar and asking again. When we refused to pay for the soup, the manager had a long conversation with a waitress in Romanian and then removed the soup from the bill, before having another conversation and adding it back on to the bill at a small discount! (no reason was given and the manager was clearly angry.) Eventually after becoming frustrated we were able to get it taken off the bill again. Terrible staff, poor quality food and expensive. Do not recommend.

Interesting experience, we decided to go there for Halloween theme food outage assuming they would over hype the vampire but it was far from that. It's a subtly decorated Romanian restaurant with some bats on ceiling, fake flickering lights, framed picture of vampires and dark decor. The restaurant was very laid back and a good atmosphere. I am not going to judge the food too much because we're a bit traditional and the food may of been authentic, it was hard to distinguish what we were getting from the menu so we randomly chosen and hope for the best, food was reasonable quality and well presented. It did take a while for us to get waitered where we had to chase but good service when we finally got their attention. I am giving it 4 stars as it was still worth the experience but being traditional people we thought the flavours were hard to deal with.

For one reason or another the expectations were higher, perhaps by the online presentation or by my eagerness to dive into my traditional food whilst being away from my country. The only fault to the food was that some of the things were too salty, almost taking away the taste of the dishes, such as the share platter. The tripe soup one the other hand was watery, like a "long soup", with very little tripe and almost cold. Other than that, the food was good. The waitress was excellent, always around, doing her best despite being overwhelmed. The missing stars are due to the poor management, our reservation, even if confirmed was not communicated to the staff on shift, the food waiting time was over 1 hour, the toilets were 2 stars and I am being kind. Would I recommend? No.

No amount of character can make up for the fact that it's just plain bad. Slow service, grumpy wait staff, tiny portions, and they even managed to botch our reservation before we even began. See attached pictures for what they most generously refer to a a 'stew'. Lived in Bristol my whole life and never heard of this place, and now I know why. Avoid.

Quiet and characteristic place with decorations that bring back Transylvania and Dracula. The entrance is not lit so difficult to spot immediately. Courteous staff and delicious typical Romanian food with generous portions Quality and proportionate price.

The food is good, the cook knows what he/she's doing (I give 4 to 4.5 stars for the food quality) BUT: The prices are very high compared to the food contents (and compared to many other restaurants in Bristol/London). The on-premise experience is way below par, unfortunately typical Romanian: * it took more than half an hour for a waiter to come and take our order (onlyu 2 tables were busy) * many menu items were not available and we were only let know of this whilst we were ordering (after waiting for half an hour) * in total it took 2.5 hours to be served a soup and a stake * the music is infernal, worst possible quality, it was a torture * related to the premises there is nothing relating to Romanian folk, all that they do is use kitsch references to Dracula

Food was OK but our overall experience wasn't great , few things happened that didn't make it the best but I will blame it all on the covid situation

Wonderful place. Excellent service. The staff are very polite, serviceable and If offer a very good dining out experience. If you want to try traditional Romanian cuisine to the highest level I would recommend this restaurant. The ambient is made to a good resemblance of Vlad the Impaler medieval Transylvania.

Very slow service. Starter was lovely but the main course was awful cheap like and we did not enjoy the meal at all. Very disappointed despite it being our son’s 18th birthday. Not recommended for special occasions.

Fantastic restaurant with a difference. Absolutely love the decor. Service was impeccable and the food was to die for , excuse the pub.. everything was freshly made and came out steaming hot, definitely need to try this place out if you've not been before.

Myself and a few friends went last night, and I wouldn't bother going again cold food and the toilets didn't work leaking all over the floor it was an absolute disgrace. Save your time effort and money and goto somewhere good.

Went for my wife's birthday meal, lovely quirky place with absolutely wonderful food, plenty to go round and cooked to perfection. Our two boys had the hamburger and really enjoyed it, my daughter had a chicken dish and it was perfect for her. We had the Dracula meat platter to share, lots of food and the potato wedges were just superb. Drinks are a little pricey but that did not change this great experience. We were advised about the toilet and it was not a problem. We will head back at some point.

Great authentic Transylvanian cousine, matching dark atmosphere and super-friendly staff. Fish/seafood is limited (no surprises), but the selection of meats or vegetarian options is really impressive. Highly recommended for any occasion.

We came here for food and was Very tasty! Definitely fresh and appealing for who’s coming to eat something authentic! The atmosphere is maintain lovely especially with the music as the design is not that impressive -revering to the theme! Functional place and decent for family meals or events maybe! We were in the mood for “enjoy” the day anyway. Nice personnel and polite, ready to serve. Strange moment when my husband paid as he didn’t recognise the prices of the meals on the bill which differ from the catalog/ menu. I’ll recommend the experience for food!

I ordered over Deliveroo a Ciorba de Burta soup which was of watery consistency and had only a few pieces Burta in it. No Roumanian pita like described was delivered which is a big minus, substituted with normal white bread which you can get in every British supermarket. The Mititei were not long enough on the grill, they were not properly cooked "through", there was still running red meat juice out as I placed them on a plate. I couldn't taste either some typical Roumanian taste in them ( my nanny of many years was Roumanian and she cooked a lot better then you guys do ), they tasted like something British from the grill. It seem to have been done in a hurry which would explain why they send the food 15 minutes earlier than stated in the order. It can't be that difficult to pull yourself together and do the things properly so your customers would order again, I will certainly not. The pot of watery soup doesn't satisfy either that price, if it would have tasted like my ex-nannies Ciorba de Burta, thick and with chopped onions and full of Burta, I would have happily paid more than your price. There was no explanation or apology to the customer for exchanging the pita against normal white bread. If you don't have it, correct the order list. The two points I gave you are for the Aubergine humous ( Vineti ) which was really good.

Tasty food and intimate atmosphere, our experience ended with a delicious dessert (the romanian "papanasi"- a doughnut-like dessert served with sour cream and blueberry jam) and a quite good coffee. With a fresh & good taste for food and a nice selection of wines, Transylvania might be a good spot for a casual experience of the Eastern European cuisine.

Ate there tonight with my other half - my first time there on her recommendation. The food was really good. I had the bulz, which had an array of meats along with a perfectly cooked egg and cheesy polenta. The picture doesn't do it justice. My girlfriend had the soup, which is served in a bread bowl and was also fantastic. The service was great, friendly but not overbearing. We had the opportunity to sample the Romanian beers - both were excellent. We had a donut desert which was absolutely brilliant. Price-wise, I was pleasantly surprised at the end of the meal I'd definitely go again.

Some food was eatable some delicious. The camp interior and the sound of happy Romanian music makes it completely ridicolusly worth every penny The donuts are super filling!
