Lovely place to visit and relax in!

After visiting the Bristol Christmas Market (VERY disappointing), we wandered along to Mud Dock Cafe because we wanted to see the harbour/dock area and the cafe is dog friendly. The cafe is in a great location overlooking the river, situated above a bike shop. It certainly has a bike theme running throughout, with bicycle parts making up some of the tables and hanging from the ceiling. The food was okay - my wife enjoyed the hot salmon focaccia but I found the chicken shawarma a bit on the dry and salty side. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was good. Worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Tuve una experiencia gastronómica realmente encantadora aquí hoy. Vinimos a desayunar. El desayuno completo fue una delicia absoluta. Cada parte estaba deliciosa y cocinada con amor. Los frijoles caseros hicieron un cambio encantador a la norma. Las salchichas estaban deliciosas. La comida se servía caliente y el café era el mejor que he tenido en mucho tiempo. Para colmo el personal era tan encantador muy muy servicial con preguntas dietéticas. Ayudaron a crear un ambiente fabuloso que se sintió muy relajado. Verdaderamente me alegró el día esta mañana visitando el café Muelle de Lodo. Gracias.

Really great service, my wife is Gluten free, they made sure the ingredients were completely separate and she was served by a manager .. great tasting food.. we were looking for all day breakfast place.. and this was the spot to go to ..highly recommended

We were there on a Sunday, the table for 4 people was very tiny. It was hard to fit in. The food is ok, but not amazing. The burger of the day, BBQ Pulled pork was not tasty. Sauce too sweet. The crumble for dessert had good taste but was cold. Personally, I would prefer warm. Plus, you can park next to the restaurant in a paid parking lot. Friendly service.

Mientras nos alojamos en Bristol estábamos buscando un café que acepta perros, esto surgió en mi búsqueda y no podríamos haber encontrado un lugar mejor. Desde el momento en que llegamos todo el personal era tan amable y hizo tanto alboroto sobre nuestro perro. La comida y el café eran simplemente delicioso y esperamos volver antes de salir de Bristol. Fue genial ver un edificio tan encantador hecho en un lugar tan grande 😊

Had lunch here on Sunday Superb, varied menu and a great atmosphere. Mud Dock has been a landmark for many years and they're still at the top of their game.

Had a fantastic brunch with friends. A fantastic location and super friendly staff. Lots of options and caters for all requirements.

We came here for brunch with friends which is hidden above a bike shop. The menu was great for a group of a combi diet of friends I.e vegans and everything eaters . The place itself was pretty awesome with a large round window dominating one side which looked like the set from Wednesday. We were greeted warmly and between us and mushrooms on foccaia, eggs royal and kedgeree. The coffees were great and the bellini. The food itself was fresh and tasty . I personally had the kedgeree it was okay just not the strongest of flavours and the rice was microwave rice in texture? My partner and I finished with the apple crumble cake which was unfortunately dry. The service was very friendly however an incident made them naturally flappy. Overall a nice place to eat away from the hustle and bustle I just might need to try something else to form a full opinion.

We had brunch here and the food was almost stone cold. The coffee was poor and the venue was freezing cold! We’re lucky we had scarves.

Tried to visit here for breakfast around 1000, told we had to wait until 1130 as we did not have a reservation. It is a cafe in name only - it’s a restaurant and the staff were indifferent to the fact I wasn’t aware a reservation was necessary. In my view, a cafe should accept walk-ins. If you require a reservation, they should put a sign at the bottom of the metal access steps so people are aware before they walk up there and try to get a table. Food appears overpriced and pretentious. If you want a decent breakfast, quickly and at a reasonable price, head to Wetherspoons V-Shed on the dock only a couple of minutes walk away, you will be much more satisfied. I should have gone there first rather than wasting my time walking up here.

Probably one of the best English breakfasts I have had in Bristol! You could tell it was really good produce 😋 friends also enjoyed their pancakes and shakshuka, but one a lil underwhelmed by the avocado eggs on toast - all in all a good one though and will certainly come back!

Lunch had finished early because of a later wedding, but had a nice piece of carrot cake and a bottle of elderflower pressé. Service friendly. Trendy place above big bike shop. Overlooking harbour with a terrace.

Excellent food, fast and friendly service, and a great atmosphere.

Have visited a few times whilst having a break in Bristol, so when looking for somewhere to go for a solo lunch, it felt comfortable and familiar to head here. I was lucky to get one of the seats on the terrace as was very busy, which is lovely to see. Got there at 12.30, so had missed breakfast — which was a shame as was craving eggs and avo, but meant got to try something else. So has the cheese board for one, was delicious and surprised at the price to have 4 different cheeses. Only constructive comment, pint of coke at £4.75 seemed slightly expensive and I had no butter on my plate, which I didn’t ask for as just presumed how it came, until next table commented that they had an uneven amount for 2 people. I didn’t get the waitresses name unfortunately, as would have liked to mention her and she was so lovely and made me feel welcomed and comfortable, considering I was on my own

We had our daughters wedding at Mud Dock on Saturday 7th September 2024 and what a day! Victoria and the team could not have given us a better day. They laid out the tables exactly to my daughter's vision and then some! They even added extra bits around the room to make it even more special. Victoria made sure the whole day ran smoothly and took care of everything. The whole team were amazing! If you are looking for something a bit different, but with an intimate atmosphere with the best service and attention to detail please give Mud Dock a call. The bride and groom even rexwives a personalised gift from the team! Absolutely amazing! Our guests were all so impressed with everything and so were we! If the happy couple leave their wedding saying rhat it was perfect and they wouldn't have changed a thing,what more could a parent want? Lovely hungover breakfast here. I recommend sitting outside for the view and atmosphere. The staff are great, really friendly and on the ball. Food is decent. Love a place that had black pudding and beautifully seasoned tomatoes. One star lost due to chewy bacon. Overall a great option. Would come back for sure :)

Haven't tried any food here but have stopped for a bloody Mary a couple of times. Very good for the price, just £6.50, might be the cheapest in Bristol actually, and never disappoints!

My niece and her partner got married at Mud Dock on Saturday, the service was attentive, the food very good, especially the gravlax salmon, hand cut, so succulent, the roast chicken so juicey, the salads, the lemon tart one of the best ever. The venue worked perfectly and we seemlesy ran from day to night. Thank you for making the day for Becca and Jamie so special. X

Thank you so much for being so understanding when my daughter didn't want the food due to her sensory issues and accommodating different options, whilst maintaining a super friendly service! Booked a table for breakfast on Friday which turned out to be a good idea as the place filled up quickly by around 10.30. From the initial greeting and seating onwards the services was attentive and very good. The menu has diverse options and was very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Utterly fantastic breakfast. The staff are really welcoming when you come in and the food is great, everything tastes high quality and fresh. The restaurant is comfortable and well designed. Wish we loved closer to be able to visit more regularly

We found Mud dock by accident. What a find. Great place, we had the Mud dock breakfast which was delicious. Pot of tea lovely treat. They spoiled our doggies with their own complimentary refilled water bowl and biscuits. Lovely staff, great view of the dockside, highly recommended. Xx

Really nice bar to sit, relax and catch up with friends or family. Located on the water front you get a great view of the Matthew, mshed and the docks in general. Staff are so polite, they were all very welcoming and all happy to help. Only visited for a drink so can't comment on food but some dishes that we saw looked good.

Might be one of the best plates I've ever had. Added avocado to the Vegan Breakfast and was sat very content afterwards!

Had a delicious vegan breakfast here this morning. Nice crispy hash brown and extra beans with some tofu scramble. Staff were very kind and attentive despite being very busy and the atmosphere was great. Thanks for a lovely breakfast!

My parents’ favourite restaurant in Bristol, my whole family loves their burgers with crispy chips, definitely recommend. Visited for my brother’s pre-grad lunch and had a great time. I had the fish pasta which was pretty good too, nice sauce and very filling.

We went for lunch here. The Cafe is done in a Cycling/Tour de France style. Not to my personal taste but was a really lovely vibe and setting so full marks. Service was fantastic, the staff were pleasant and attentive. Drinks were good. The food.... My Wife really enjoyed her open sandwich which was a good size. I had a Bean Cassoulet and it absolutely blew me away. The quality and flavour was outstanding. Proper comfort food done on a higher level. Genuinely one of the best things I have eaten at any restaurant in a long time. You could only identify what I had eaten based on the type of bowl as there wasn't a drop left. I had a berry pudding for dessert which was spot on too. Based on this I have to recommend this place if you are in Bristol.

Just regular pub food but ok. Very smiley and accommodating staff. Love the outdoor terrace, one for smokers one for not. Good view of the river and Prince Street bridge. Good times!

Stopped here for some food with friends and colleagues. The sun was shining and we had a table overlooking the harbour from under the shade of a parasol. The food was excellent, as was the service and staff. There was a broad selection of food and drinks for various dietary requirements too. One of the most pleasant afternoons in a long while.

Great place. Was suggested to eat here by a friend who wasn’t wrong when they said the food and the views were great. Loved the whole experience.

A wonderful little place with a range of food. I had the chicken burger and honestly it was on of the best I’ve ever had. Service was also impeccable and you can look out over the river and in the sunshine the view is beautiful.

We had our wedding at Muddock on 18.05.24. The venue is perfect, absolutely gorgeous without decorations but the team were so fabulous at personalising it with our decorations. The food was incredible, everyone really enjoyed the mixed tapas-y option, and the staff were so friendly ensuring the evening ran smoothly! They even let me hang and smash a piñata instead of cutting a cake! Plus after the wedding the venue gave us a gift with the date, our names and the venue from the local pottery place next door which was so touching! Can't thank them enough. Perfect for a laid back wedding!

So good we went twice for brunch while in Bristol for a long weekend. We arrived on both days, a Sunday & Monday, for the time they opened. On Sunday there was a queue! We didn’t book but on the Sunday we were told we only had a limited time as the table was booked for later. We were able to sit outside on the Sunday in the sunshine with the lovely views. Monday we sat inside which was just as nice and cosy! Service was good. Food was lovely. I asked for my eggs to be poached and they kindly agreed to do it. Pictures are from our Sunday visit. Monday’s bill: Latte - £3.25 Fresh Orange - £4.50 Big breakfast - £13.50 Ex poached egg - £1.25 Ex Avocado - £2.50 Eggs Benedict - £10.75 Total - £35.75 Service was not included. We walked here but there was a large car park adjacent which you’d probably need to pay for. You do have to walk up outdoor stairs to access the restaurant. If I visit Bristol again, I’ll be back!

Likewise, ignored by staff on arrival. Ordered drinks at the bar and sat outside, no one came near us after that. We will not return and we are local.

We walked there to have breakfast after reading lots of good reviews but on arrival were ignored by the "wait to be seated sign" for a few minutes. Two members of staff then walked past to serve others and didn't acknowledge us either. We were then told by two separate members of staff that someone will be with us shortly. Someone else then came to ask if we had reserved, which we hadn't, and they then told us they can't accommodate us... There were tables free outside and nearly all tables inside empty, on a late Monday morning, and there were only two of us. No one seemed or looked busy at all. Bad vibes from the get go and not a single friendly face. Will not return.

If in Bristol this place is a great option for lunch.

Light lunch on a sunny terrace. Bizarre to be told my preferred choice was not available as they had run out the preceding day ,- whatever happened to fresh chicken and avocado salad that it's not made same day. Also no 0% cider option. Friendly service team and a nice menu choice in a lovely scenic environment

Dropped in for Lunch and it was such a quirky place. The folks working were lovely. The Lunch portions were huge- we both had the Chicken Shawarma and my goodness was it utterly delicious and there was so much of it!

Excellent breakfast, homemade baked beans are amazing and big bacon slices are fab.

The Mud Dock was lovely. Situated on the docks, it had a great atmosphere with a gorgeous window (pictured). The service was okay, it could have been better. But the food was really nice.

I came her for breakfast on Saturday morning and to be honest was really disappointed. We were sitting waiting for over 10 mins whilst staff were standing around, our order was only taken once my partner got up and asked if we needed to order at the bar as we were unsure after waiting so long. The waitress took our order and the food and drinks arrived fairly quickly. My smashed avocado toast was covered in what tasted like the juice of a whole lemon, and I was unable to eat it as it was so bitter. My partner had the full breakfast, he said it was good but very overpriced for what it was. To be honest the whole meal was incredibly overpriced for what it was. I'd perhaps come here for a drink to sit outside as its a great location but I certainly wouldn't be ordering food again.

Muddock is great for casual dining in a great location. Above a bike shop, it's very Bristol.

We love this restaurant overlooking the river we got there at 10am when it open for breakfast we were showed to a table outside on the upper deck overlook the river and harbour side with great views. Our breakfast was very nice well worth the money the staff were very friendly one word of advice In book in advance as it is very popular even for breakfast.

Sat there for 15 minutes, only wanted a drink. It wasn't busy, plenty of staff. After 10 minutes we gave a drinks order, bo sign of it coming so we left.

Stopped here for a post-club night breakfast and it absolutely delivered. A great breakfast, large mugs of coffee and a nice view (over the car park) out to the waterfront. I suspect somewhere to book at busy times to guarantee a table. We didn’t but it was warm enough (just) to sit outside

Came recommend and did not disappoint. Arrived quite early in the afternoon so young lady was unsure if the kitchen was open! on checking all was ok otherwise might have walked away. Well we picked from the specials Seabass which was excellent cooked well and a very good sized fillet too. Crushed potatoes and greenbeans all cooked well very tasty indeed. It was served on hot plates which i think was a excellent makes all the difference. Next time will try the desserts or even the cake sounded good too. yes we would go back next time in Bristol.

Had brunch there. Great atmosphere and staffs were very attentive, lovely. But the foods were just standard. Not bad and we enjoyed but very standard taste. We had full mud dock breakfast but they were nothing so special. Kids friendly but the cafe is located upstairs with no lift. So if you have a buggy, you will have to carry up and down the stairs.

We got married at Mud Dock and hosted the subsequent celebration there in Feb 24. I would a million percent recommend them. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was amazing and Anna and the team did a superb job in organising the day so we could focus on enjoying the time with our guests. Most of all, Anna and the team are really passionate and knowledgeable about what they do and are super lovely and kind.

Just been twice in two days. Just coffee yesterday and brunch today. Really nice rustic informal vibe. Food was really nice and just that little bit different from the usual offerings.

Beef burgers were really nice. Tasty burger in a really nice bun. Chips were also very well done, crispy and kept their heat until the end of the meal. 👍

Bad coffee. Great brunch selection. Incredible atmosphere, staff and location. However the coffee is sub par. Been on 3 occasions spread over a month and the quality leaves a lot to be desired, especially for a bike cafe! Easy 5/5 when the coffee improves!

A lovely place with lovely staff, we took a mud dock breakfast with a fresh orange juice and everything was really good, i recommend it
