A brilliant spot for brunch! The waffles were delicious and felt very premium. Spot on coffee and a very relaxed and easy atmosphere. A step above your average coffee place doe something special. Will be returning soon!

Such a lovely little place this is! I’ve been twice now and both times the food and coffee has been delicious, and the owner and staff warm and welcoming. Not to forget the great playlist the owner has playing (a great addition to the already cozy atmosphere the little venue has!) I’ve had a crepe on both my visits and they were delicious each time! My companions tried the waffles on my recent visit and they all raved about them too!

Belgian Brasserie has recently changed owner but still maintains the same level of friendly, warm service. The restaurant itself is quirky and cosy, the coffee is good and the food is delicious and reasonably priced.

Lovely little cafe with a nice atmosphere and jazz music playing in the background. Stopped for an afternoon coffee and waffle which were both great.

Disappointed. Told to take a seat so we thought someone will come and take the order, no one bothered so we had to make our own way to the counter where we were ignored for a few minutes. Bad service, got the order wrong twice. How? God knows as the place was not full. Staff shout loudly to each other like it’s some common diner! Waffle both looked and tasted disappointing, like reheated sainsburys bought waffle, definitely not worth the price. Bagel didn’t look great and tasted meh… you should do better.

All I can think is I was charged £6.60 for one maple & cinnamon pancake, served on a side plate. Such a shame.

Don't order the iced coffee mocha. It's overpriced and watery.

A lovely spot for some crepes, boozy ones too! We got given extra crepes as we were the last customers. A special shout out to Lisa who was friendly, and took the time to engage in dialogue with my 14 year old. Would have included pics but crepes got scoffed!

A good choice for something different

My friend pre-booked a table which they wasn't aware of, but no issue as the place was almost deserted other then two other people in the cramped, tired, over priced, shabby place. But because my friend had picked there to eat, I went along with it stupidly. Far too many tables or furniture cramped into what I can describe as a run down shed. The counter where you have to order at was full of stuff, and it was tired looking and just so shabby. I squeezed the buggy into a little gap, and we waited. No one came to take our order, so I headed up to the counter to place it. Two female members of staff on, one her English wasn't her first language (so her understanding later when I explain what happened was harder to explain). My daughter and I ordered a regular crepe each and friend a waffle. Two of the plates arrived before the other, by some considerable time. So they were half way through there meals when mine finally arrived. Drinks arrived same time as two of the three meals, when we waited some time for them as well. When the crepes arrived, I was staggered, for the price I expected more filling. These flat, nearly non existent crepes arrived with barely anything in them and certainly not worth the price of them. We ate them, as was hungry and the food was okay. I heard them ding my beans in the microwave oven before adding the tiny tiniest bit of cheese and two leaves of rocket and eventually making its way to me. My daughter's crepe was no different, the tiniest bit of camembert, one rocket leaf and a dob or red currant jelly. Totally not worth the cost. The drinks we ordered were a smoothy - which was okay, but you don't have a choice in the smoothly fruit, they tell you what's in it and it's a one smoothy flavour for all. Beware, this comes full of seeds! Bits were all in my daughter's teeth. The cold hot chocolate they do was very disappointing. It's basically hot chocolate power mixed in with milk, a squirt of cream and the tiniest flake on top. We were supposed to get mini marshmallows but they didn't bother. When I asked after the marshmallows, the lady with accent told me they ran out. No apology at the time they brought the drinks over to the table. No offer of an extra flake or cream and the amount of ice they put into the drinks made it watery and tasteless. For £4.80 each drink I expected more. Same as the price of the crepe, I expected more, more filling, better service (where you don't need to go up to the over crowded counter to order yourself). This place was the pits. No wonder it was pretty dead in there. I shall never return. I was offered 15 pence off my £40 bill due to the lack of marshmallows, I mean really? I said no thanks, I will pay in full! That's what I did as the 15 pence was an insult. How they are still running as a café brasserie is shocking. I wouldn't recommend, wouldn't return even if I was starving hungry. This place is all round the pits!

There aren’t many places that do bagels these days, but if you fancy one here’s a place to visit. The bagel was nicely soft and the bacon was cooked properly, neither undercooked nor overly done. Weekday mornings tend to be quite quiet in this area and the service is normally very good. I took a photo of the menu for the people reading this review and wanting to know what’s being served.

Terrible!!!!!!! The food was cold and the scrambled egg was burnt. The bacon was overcooked and looked like it had been microwaved🤢 My husband brought a beer but the girl serving looked under 16 which is horrendous. The food service was slow and the table was dirty when we arrived. WILL NOT RETURN. Only positive is that the place has heating. Do not recommend for anyone !!!!!

Funky little breakfast spot with a boozy twist. My partner and I were staying across the street while on vacation and decided to stop by for breakfast as it was close by. Great choice! Very small shop but very creative food that tasted amazing. Reasonably priced too, at least in comparison to what we are used to back in Canada. Very friendly staff as well. Loved this place!

Second visit to this lovely brasserie. Its very eclectic & cosy with a laid back & relaxed atmosphere. The menu is limited to crepes ( savoury & sweet ) & some toasted breads but what it does it does very well. The crepes are excellent & the fillings are absolutely delicious. The portions are generous & good value for money and the service is low key and efficient. A great cosy & unique little cafe which has lots of regular customers.

Very quaint Belgian waffle House. Banana and chocolate was good. Nice coffee too. May go back for a cocktail as they looked pretty good too.

This is an absolutely lovely place hidden away in a collection of artisanal small businesses in an area formerly occupied by a water mill. The food was speedily delivered, authentically Belgian and absolutely delicious. The owner, an engineer, was there and could not have been more solicitous and helpful. We loved it and recommend the place highly for breakfast, brunch or dinner.

We had a private event here for our belated wedding reception. Only 16 people for a sit down meal which was perfect for the size of the place. Food was great and the whole event was super reasonable. They were also able to accommodate the vegans and gluten free in the party. It’s such a cute venue at night with all the fairy lights. Have also been several times for brunch and the savoury crepes are to die for!

The coffee was not hit enough. The ladies there are excellent. Great service and helped me when I needed it.

Lovely eclectic & relaxed cafe. Had an amazing savoury crepe & large latte for £10 each. Generous portions , good quality & value.

This lovely place is located at historic Merton Abbey Mills. They serve tasty pancakes, waffles, sandwiches, breakfasts, branches and lunch's here. As the name says, they are based on Belgian products and dishes. Nice atmosphere and professional service

It is an excellent place for pancake lovers.

Although we arrived when there weren't many customers, it took a pretty long time to be acknowledged. The staff were pleasant and chill, but everything took a long time — so much so that our food wasn't really warm when we received it. It was okay but felt unprepared.

Use the place for breakfast. Bagels scrambled egg that type of thing. Nice and clean cooking. Lovely cup of tea not too keen on the coffee but over all I love to support the little independents

Very poor customer service. Approached restaurant asked for a table for 3. Was laughed at by the old man along with other customers in the shop. “ they don’t know how to approach a restaurant “. In that case you won’t be getting any business from us. Terrible experience. Avoid like the plague.

What a brilliant place. The food, crepes and waffles, are well cooked and very tasty. I can recommend the camembert, walnut, spinach and red currant crepe and the cheese and ham. A grand selection of Belgian beers and cocktails to accompany the food and the best selection of music to eat by. If you are as old as me you will appreciate a journey through your wilder days. They have live music and open mic sessions too! A great place for lunch and you can hire it out for events too.

Best homemade lemonade EVER!!! I only ate the bacon and cream cheese bagel, the bacon was cooked to perfection. Lovely staff and great spot for a cheeky drink too

Tried Belgian Brasserie for the very first time and I must say I was very impressed with the place. Staff were very friendly and the food was excellent! Would definitely recommend coming here!

Stumbled upon this little gem while visiting Merton Abbey Mills, lovely little restaurant and very friendly service. The prices were reasonable and the food was amazing. I had scrambled egg, cheese, beans and spinach on a bagel, which was really good, and my daughter and her friend had the waffles, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend

Really good food, quirky menu, good ambience and attentive service. I had a limencello and mascapone crepe and my friend a bagel. We drunk fresh lemonade and also slow gin. We were exceptionally happy with our food and drinks, they were full of flavour and inventive. The crepe could have been improved by being a little lighter but it was still enjoyable and very reasonable for the price. The star of the show was my slow gin presented to me as a little tasting experience! First try the gin alone, divine. Then try the gin with spices. Then the peel, amazing! Finally add your tonic. Wow. So tasty and totally unexpected! It absolutely does have a lovely ambiance, a lovely vintage/rustic vibe and I expect it is a delightful place for weddings and events. I adore all the vintage touches and the relaxed atmosphere.

Not very impressed. The service was nice but food poor. We ordered crepes but they came cold as if they have been (badly) heated up with microwave. Atmosphere could be improved. I don’t think I’ll go back.

A fantastic selections of gins, absolutely gorgeous food, and great entertainment. The staff are all lovely and we're had some great brunches, lunches and evenings drinks here. An absolute gem on our doorstep - couldn't recommend it more!

Waffles to die for!! Topped with strawberries, bluebereies, Belgian Chocolate and Cream. Able to sit in or out, nice atmosphere and staff.

We always have a great time whenever visiting the Belgian Brasserie. It's one of our favourite places for coffee, waffles and crepes. A special mention must go to the owner, Yvonne, who always gives a warm welcome. We recently attended our first jazz night there and had a really lovely time.

How was it? I'd have to say delicious. The other point is that this place was relatively pricey before lockdown but their prices haven't increased as much as similar places, which brings them now into a more moderate price bracket (comparatively).

Amazing experience having our wedding here! Having had to change our wedding plans multiple times due to Covid-19 rules, my partner and I found ourselves without a wedding reception venue just two weeks before our big day. We had been to the Belgian Brasserie as we live local, and had seen other couples had held smaller weddings here recently. We emailed the venue and immediately Yvonne the owner called, she was attentive to every detail from that moment on, she really did go above and beyond our expectations as did all the staff on our big day. Attending to our many requests such as meal choice, cakes, flowers, music, drinks etc without any hesitation, I felt like we made the right choice immediately. The day went so smoothly, we have nothing to critique or complain about, every one of our guests told us how memorable it was and how much they enjoyed it, we would definitely recommend Yvonne and her team for any event need. Looking forward to getting back from our honeymoon to visit for a coffee and a waffle :-) Thanks to you all for making our day so special!

The food was OK, the waiting time was too long, music too loud.

Stopped for a coffee on our way along the Wandle Walk. The coffee was good and the waffle was massive. I had a waffle with chocolate and banana and was glad I was gonna walk for a while afterwards, hehe. The people were friendly and helpful.

Very disappointing to be told customers have to use paper cups, paper plates an wooden knife an fork whilst eating lunch only to see members of staff eating on china plate, china cup an glass. Almost every place provides proper cutlery now regardless of COVID even the Thai opposite, Marks an Spencer’s, Starbucks, Costa…..to name a few. Obviously rules for customers but not for staff. I might add food very good.

Been here for an early lunch today. I was looking forward to try their breakfast with belgian waffles, but I've got a very sugary waffle with smoked salmon on top???not sure if this is normal or not, but it did taste weird. Disappointig..

Very disappointing. Was expecting fresh on site made waffles, instead I was served a tiny mass produced one on a paper plate!

Decent place to have a crepe or waffle; I would suggest putting bananas inside the crepe as well to make it more substantial. The waffle was a little dry, not sure if it was made fresh or not

So charming and so comfortable and yet I hear that only it 40% Cant wait till its back 100%!!

I love this place. Very cosy and the food is great. My only bug bear is that the food comes out at different times - which is annoying when you're in a group or 4 or more and you either have people finishing their food way before others, or food going cold if you're waiting. I'm usually the last to get my food despite being the slowest eater! I understand they have a small kitchen but if they could rectify this it'd be the perfect brunch spot.

We’d had a meal at another restaurant in Abbey Mills and noticed the Belgian Brasserie was open on our way out. We stopped for coffee and husband had a crepe too. My flat white was the best I’ve had in ages. The lady who brought out the menus, who we assume was the owner, was very friendly and helpful. We’ll return again but for brunch next time.

Really friendly service, Yvonne is great fun and more than happy to meet customer requests. Fine ambience, good music and lovely food. Have enjoyed coming here for years.

This was perfect for my cosy rainy Saturday brunch . They have a selection of amazing soft bagels, fresh waffles and crepes with sweet and savoury dishes, from eggs and bacon to chocolate and berries. Yum
