Still the best place to eat in Wimbledon. It may be slightly out of the village but worth the short walk . Food is always good and service excellent

I came in here joyful at the fact there was fresh spaghetti, i ordered this and waited approximately 45 minutes for my food. To my disappointment i was served with noodles. Similar to pot noodles. I never knew fresh spaghetti translated to noodles. I could have got this meal at tesco for £2.50, instead i paid around £15. It wasn’t even tomato sauce. The beef was also very fatty. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this place if you want ‘fresh’ spaghetti. In fairness they adjusted the price for compensation. The bare minimum they could.

Lovely atmosphere in this Wimbledon Gem! Amazing food and diverse wine list. Well worth a visit.

My wife and I like to go here the rare times that we have baby sitters. Food and service has so far been good the few times we have been. For us, the prices are special occasion prices, not, can't be bothered cooking prices, but definitely a good choice for date night.

I've lived in Wimbledon for a long time, and always felt a bit ambivalent about the lighthouse. I hadn't been for at least a few years, maybe since before the pandemic but went today, prompted by my partner, for our anniversary. And do you know what? It was fabulous. I think my biggest issue had always been that the menu was "safe". But today, it was all big flavours, interesting ingredients and great service. In short, everything you want out of a local restaurant. Definitely recommended. I'd not been very excited by the Light Cafe getting a make-over. Now I can't wait to try it.

Excellent place for an unexpected breakfast. The field mushrooms on toast were so good I came back the next week and got them again.

We've been eating at the Light House irregularly for almost 20 years but hadn't visited since lockdown until last Friday night. Tempted in by the offer of a £35 three-course menu, which proved to be extremely good value. Four of us ate well from a menu that offered a choice of four dishes per course, with very generous portions and top-notch cooking. I had expected pretty much a set menu with minimal choice, so this was a v pleasing outcome. Staff and service were excellent. Ambiance feels less 'high-end' than it used to, but for a well-priced, non-chain restaurant, I would certainly recommend Light House for a mid-range evening out.

A local restaurant serving modern European cuisine. The staff are friendly, the food was decent but unimaginative. Menu was reasonably diverse. All in all a decent place to go for a meal but not a destination restaurant. P.s. The Pannal cotta was great!

A big party of us ate here 1/6/23, I had the ham hock for my starter, it was really good although too salty. Main course I had sea bass again it was really good, lovely crispy skin. Only complaint was there were way too many long green veg not sure what they were. Desert was cheese cake and a caramel sauce absolutely no complaints it was so good! Service was really good and the meal was good value for money.

What a lovely restaurant. Three of the best courses of food I have had for a long time. Superb seared tuna, fab cod and chorizo and a stunning hot chocolate mousse to finish. All four of us loves the food, ambience and service. Just wish I didn’t live 60 miles away!

Not been here for a while, just wanted a meal out close by on a Saturday. Booked at 6, pleasantly full and not noisey ( hate that ! ) Service to tablet was prompt and careful. Not big eaters so roast beef fillet and guinea fowl for both of us. Beef was tender and a good cut, sauce might have been better in a jug, chips and olive bread was superb - Guinea fowl was tasteful so a good poultry supplier, with parsnip and brussel tops . Wheelchair accessible entrance / floor- but did not use the loos so cannot comment there. Understated decor with plenty of room between tables , house red was good and overall pricing matches well for this area ( which a long time ago it didn't ) So will certainly be back soon ☺️ well recommended.

The welcome and service was 5 star, the prices are reasonable, the food was fairly good with a number of vegetarian options. I had breakfast on an early Saturday morning. The place had a cute Christmas tree set up in a large but warm seating area. It was a quiet morning, so I even enjoyed some workplace banter among the servers. The tea was served hot, not just warm - I appreciate that. The sour dough toast was great and the avocado on it was fresh. The poaching of the eggs left a little room for improvement, the yolk was less runny than ideal. Personally for me the lemon juice drizzled on top of the eggs and avocado was a bit of a mismatch. The mild chilli and the zingy pepper were great garnishes.

Second time I've visited and the food was just as incredible as the first time. First time we happened to coincide with one of their Jazz nights which was a really fun atmosphere. It was a little quieter when we came back on a Wednesday evening than the first time but still a very enjoyable meal and all the Happy Birthday touches were very kind. Would highly recommend.

Usually very satisfied whenever I visit here but a bit disappointed with latest visit. The goats cheese starter was excellent as was the service and the drinks. I couldn't however understand the chicken breast dish - rather bland with an odd sauce. Maybe an off day. I'll go back though.

Had a very nice lunch here, friendly staff and even had a chat with one of the chefs. Very nice menu so need to come back for more. My Butternut Squash soup was possibly the best I've ever had (except at home) and the calves liver was fantastic. My companion had the goats cheese salad followed by the baked cod - when I saw the salad I wished I chosen it, but actually the soup really was fantastic. For a Friday lunchtime the place was quiet but the service was good and the food was fresh. Really would recommend the Light House well worth going that little bit beyond Central Wimbledon. A real treat

I visited regularly 15 to 20 years ago on a regular basis with groups of female friends. The food and service was fantastic. This time around I was underwhelmed by the Asiatic twist on the very expensive hum-drum contemporary British or was it strange British Asian food offer. For the £33 for a dish of food and glass of wine I could have gone to a restaurant in Tooting for a better quality vsle for Money 3 course meal inc. a BYO bottle. Place needs a light retouch and toilet I was in was missing a button to flush. The unhappy 'face of thunder' owner/ maitre de seemed to have trouble making eye contact with me even though it was my dumb idea to go on this nostalgic visit. Off my list of places to go - ever!

Incredibly friendly, efficient staff, and accommodating staff. Food was delicious and there was a good variety to choose from. I have some dietary requirements, and they adapted the dishes for me with ease. A lovely space, with a great buzzing atmosphere and we enjoyed seeing into the working kitchen. Would certainly be very happy to go here again, and is somewhere I'd recommend others to visit. Please get the toilet fixed and you have five stars!

We visited Light House to celebrate my husband's birthday yesterday and were very pleased by our choice (which we consciously made over The Ivy to support a non-chain restaurant). Service was impeccable, the menu was eclectic but all dishes we ordered were delicious (tuna tartare, and cod croquettes were excellent, as well as the chicken breast curry), all presented beautifully. Restaurant printed a menu with "Happy Birthday" in it which was a lovely touch. The only thing we commented on was the decor which felt a bit bland. We will definitely return!

Had a really wonderful anniversary meal here. The service was friendly, professional and attentive and the food was superb (steak followed by lemon and vanilla cheesecake). We will certainly return in the not too distant future

Really a disappointing meal. It was a birthday celebration, which was mentioned to the server when we arrived, but no effort was made to make us feel special. The service was lacklustre - slow and indifferent - and the food was disappointing. One of us had hake with new potatoes, where the potatoes were 3 tiny potatoes, one of which was bad. Apart from a chicken dish, the other meals were equally uninspiring. The puddings were very disappointing, with a tasteless cheesecake, a disappointing chocolate marquise, poorly presented and where the portions were small (which would have been less bad if they had been tasty). We asked for coffee with the puddings but this was entirely forgotten, and the mint tea was served with bugs in, suggesting the mint had not been washed. Overall, a very disappointing meal. We wondered whether there was a new chef, or the normal chef was on holiday, because it was so poor.

We had a wonderful meal at the Light House. The sea bass was the best fish I have ever had eating out. I would definitely recommend you try this restaurant. I can not imagine that anyone would be disappointed after visiting it here. Looking forward visiting it again.

I loved the Christmas tree. And that's about it. Don't even think of ordering the pork belly. Huge disappointment awaiting. Not worth it.

Not impressed with food. The free glass of Prosecco was tasteless and almost flat. It was a Wednesday night and live music helped evening enjoyment. Serving staff did their job well. We have been to this restaurant at least 4 times over last 4 years and not been impressed with food.

Lovely neighborhood restaurant. The food and service was excellent - the squash beet feta avocado salad was particularly good. We’ll be back - it is the perfect local spot for a date night.

Went with some friends , as had checked the reviews . The place lacks atmosphere , but is a nice looking environment . Our starters and drinks were good . I am a vegetarian , and there was only one option , which was spinach and ricotta tortellini , I think it was £15 , so thought it would be freshly made . Sadly , it was not !!! It was dumped with some peas and spinach in a watery , tomato broth . I can make a lot better . My husband ordered the steak for £22 and the chips were so greasy , he does not like to complain , but I wish he had told me , as I would have sent them back, he got heartburn :(. How hard is it to make chips !!! The chef , obviously was having a bad day , and for the price , there are a lot better places , we will not be coming here again . This place , could easily be a nice place , but sadly , our meal lacked thought and was just thrown together.

A favourite place of ours within walking distance. Very welcoming. The current addition of salads with every dish not to our liking but everything else most enjoyable.

Looks like im review number 200 (well done guys!). Came in for a quick coffee as I was early for a meeting. Was greeting and dealt with just as nicely as the seated customers that were having a meal. Lovely place and great atmosphere!

Good for a light lunch but not really a special occasion dinner venue. Prices are steep though and 30 gbp for an average steak with chips seems over the top. Also had fish that was swimming in a salad with too much dressing. Starters were very good.

One of Wimbledon's finest. Eclectic menu often with Far Eastern influences. Great wine list. Welcoming staff and especially Hugo, who's been there pretty much from the beginning.
