Called in to do the big shop today and paid with cash at the self service area. Was annoyed at first at the colleague check, waiting impatiently when the colleague Stephen checked off the items, then he told me that the chocolate that I had bought, was the same price for double the size. He then went off and found the larger box and brought it back for me. I was very happy with Stephen's assistance, he went above and beyond for me, and made my day. Thankyou to him and all the helpful friendly people in Tesco Bridgend.

Nice food at great prices but service can be quite slow, had to remove a star arrived there today at 6.50pm kitchen closed ? States online open until 8 pm ,seems to be getting worse every week now one staff member to serve two separate bars and food and kitchen closes at will no notice , removed another star today I purchased a chip shop platter £13.70 for me and a chicken platter for my son £11.70 so with a drink each £32 , my fish was paper thin with loads of batter and cost £5 more for a small fish cake 3 scampi and tiny amount of curry and even though states bread and butter I received none , never again both of us ate again after meal if you want value for money stick to the 2 meals for £13.50 Monday to Thursday as more expensive meals are just not worth it and often missing items listed on menu no reason given. Sorry I believe in honesty turned up today Sunday for dinner with son empty tables everywhere but it was only for bookings for mother's Day? , online says kitchen open 12 till 4 no mention of being turned away hungry if you haven't booked? , I had Sunday dinner there last week no mention of have to book for next week? Are we supposed to be mind-readers to eat at the gaer inn I have to admit I'm psd had to go eat at subway , it makes no sense to turn away regular paying customers in this day and age , next year they be saying they can't afford to stay open 🤔 hello your turning regular paying customers away with loads of empty tables, just makes no sense

First visit was only for late evening drinks. They were OK - but lady behind the bar was not at all helpful or friendly. Unfortunately we had to visit here also for a lunch. Really horrible falafel-hummus, wet chips and old, dead salad. So please, go to Abergavenny city - there are good restaurants. This is not.

We went to La Luna for Sunday lunch as a family of 7, 5 adults and 2 kids and had a fantastic time. We booked La Luna very last minute after being let down by another venue. A great location just 5 minutes off the M4, the atmosphere and cleanliness of the red was great and we were immediately greeted and shown to a lovely round table. Service was prompt and we were impressed by the range of drinks and food available. Complimentary Sunday lunch for our kids aged 4 and 6 was really nice and portions were generous for children of that age. We loved our starters particularly the bao bun and the mushroom ciabatta. Our mains were also great with the lamb roast a particular highlight. We were so full most of us didn’t opt for pudding but one of us did have the bread and butter pudding which was exceptional. All in all, a great family lunch out. A mix of the traditional with the modern and I’d highly recommend it. Big shout out to the staff for great service and our eldest loved his dipping chocolate with marshmallows and strawberries! Fantastic.

This is the second time I've been here in the space of a year, not by choice. Both times I thought the food was average at best. Didn't get my medium steak cooked correctly on both occasions and no apology. Be warned take cash, because unbelievably, they don't have card facilities. The first time I had to go across the road, in the rain, to get money out of the hole in the wall which charges you a fee. It's the first place I've ever eaten at which only takes cash. I was/am amazed.
