Excellent food at Brewers fayre abergavenny alos disabled toilets

Food was okay. Advertised unlimited Yorkshires but then only give you one with your meat, Roasties not crispy at all. Don’t even get me started on the meat. You get 3 little tiny cuts of it nothing more. Awful value for money.

Good prices, efficient. Easy to book online. Food was good.

It's going downhill to what it was when it opened. Very dusty everywhere along skirting boards, shelving ... food wise is OK some dishes are very good where others are just so ..

I enjoyed a very fulfilling Sunday dinner and attempted to use my Armed Forces Discount card for my 25% discount but was advised the system has changed and I needed to download the Blue Light App. This was false information and as a result I was not able to obtain my discount. Otherwise the meal was wholly satisfactory but disappointingly I had to pay extra for a hot drink albeit unlimited.

Visted this brewers fayre on sat 12th of Oct. We were a party of 9, 6 adults 2yr old twins and a 6yr old with extra needs.the food was lovely, hot and came all together .the staff on that afternoon were fabulous made us feel very comfortable and nothing was to much trouble, we had a lovely afternoon. The best brewer fayre I have been to thank you ,will be back .

Food was good, no surprises and did the job to fuel us on a long journey. The atmosphere was ok, these places are a bit soulless and even though it looks like a pub, it’s not, it is just a reliable and cheap meal out. Staff were ok, although the girl taking my order at the bar was a little inpatient, not rude but not friendly. Overall a good place to stop on a road trip but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back.

I couldn't have any of the set vegetarian options for various reasons and the waitress Emily was super helpful. She made sure I could enjoy a meal with my husband and liaised with the chefs. I am very grateful as I have been places before where they have made a big deal of this and it made me feel embarrassed and unwelcome.Super happy with our experience. Thankyou

We stayed as a group of six next door at the Premier Inn & decided to eat at Brewers Fayre. It was Tuesday night around 20.15pm & therefore empty. I ordered Thai Vegetable Curry - when it came it was rice, some sauce, & 3 small pieces of squash, plus frozen peas (accompanied by red wine). The portion size is what I'd expect to serve to a five year old (& I've not got a big appetite). We decided to order dessert but we were told (without notice) at 21.15pm that the kitchen was closed! The staff were nice enough but had no interest in the business and just wanted to go home. It was a terrible meal - if I'd been on my own I would have walked out. Overall 2/10 - & that's generous.

Never had a bad experience at Abergavenny Brewers Fayre! Got turned away at Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon, went to Abergavenny and was seated quickly. The food is always spot on, perfect place to bring the kids and eat as a family that's very inexpensive! Couldn't recommend it enough, thank you to Lilly and the staff that were working for always making us feel welcome.

Sophie and team excellent customer service despite being short staffed . This is my 5th night staying here and the service has never faltered and better than some 4 star establishments . Team always smiling happy and go that extra mile which is so rare nowadays . Highly recommend.

Waited 5 min at entrance, staff arrives with no apology for the wait much of a welcome, says unless we have booked they don't have anything available for an hour, which was laughable as the place was less than half full. BS.

We stayed at the premier inn next door for a few nights and on one of the nights we decided to do the meal deal of dinner and breakfast the next morning. I was disappointed that it was not table service for dinner. You have to queue up at the bar which was very short staffed. One person behind the bar making cocktails whilst also doing the food orders made the wait to order a long time. There must be a better way? The restaurant was very family friendly, meaning it felt like I was having dinner in a school dinner hall. Yes it was school holidays, and yes it was about 6ish but would it not make sense to distribute people accordingly to make sure people can all enjoy their meal? Not looking for silence, I love an atmosphere but the noise was excessive and impacted on our meal. We decided to take our pudding to our room and eat it there instead. The food was below average. Portion sizes were too small and not value for money in my opinion. Breakfast the next day was alright . We didn’t know we needed to book a table as we were not told and this caused some issues but not the hosts fault just a lack of communication between the premier inn and the restaurant on what to tell the guests. Food was as you would expect of you’ve had premier inn breakfast in the past; buffet service. Medium quality and fills a hole. Overall, was just about adequate; not enough to complain but not good enough to go back. The staff are clearly worked off their feet and doing what they can with what they have got. It’s a wider organisation issues which needs to come up with a better plan when staff shortage are an issue.

A stop off here for lunch and I must say the food was excellent and the staff were brilliant considering we were disabled. Definitely better than my previous experiences many years ago!

Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from the manager Marcus, the way that he spoke to two elderly ladies yesterday, leaving them both very confused and upset not understanding what they did wrong telling them that they had five minutes to leave the table, when they had only just finished eating and still had drinks left!! He needs to learn to look after his bread and butter customers that dine every week , because he's already lost my custom, he needs to take a step back and look at his business, dirty floors that hadn't been cleaned since breakfast, menus on the floor etc, and this was at opening time!!! It used to be a lovely place to eat, but after what was witnessed yesterday I think that you are an utter disgrace 😡😡

Lovely new build. Very clean and food was delicious. I had the Katsu Curry and oh my goodness it is so yummy! It is probably the best Katsu curry I have had. The chicken is so crispy and the rice is cooked perfectly! Some cheeky red jalapeños in there too!

Always a friendly welcome in relaxing environment for drinks and food. Drink prices are reasonable and have good offers on food. Marcus and his team are always very helpful and professional. Definitely recommend.

Not much to say about this place but would not recommend it meat was overcooked, salad was bruised and dry, grilled tomatoes were cols and had barely kissed the grill, glassware was dirty but at least the desert was good

Discovery of this restaurant chain by chance. The welcome is pleasant and the staff smiling. The service is very efficient. Special mention for the spinach, ricotta and squash lasagna. A beautiful and surprising discovery. Very convenient parking.

Experience was cheap and cheerful. The staff really couldn't be bothered.

Very poor service the waitress was huffing and puffing whist we were ordering, she was quite rude to us. The food was bland and we weren't all served at the same time meaning some had to wait quite a long time.

Took 6 of us (all adults) to Abergavenny Brewers Fayre today for Sunday Carvery. Food, service, location and atmosphere were all excellent. The Manager even put a candle in the pudding of one of our party as it was her 88th Birthday. Thanks everyone. We will be back.

Visited for Sunday Lunch. 6 adults celebrating a senior relatives birthday. We all had the carvery. There was 3 choices of meat, crackling, Yorkshire's, stuffing balls and loads of vegetables topped with a lovely thick gravy. 5 puddings followed with a couple of rounds of drinks. Staff even put a candle in the birthday girls pudding. The food, service and restaurant was all excellent. Thank you Brewers Fayre, Abergavenny. 10 out of 10. We will be back.

Didn't get shown to our table for ages ,then a very quick sit down then told to order at the bar I think they have staffing issues. Food hot and arrived in good time.

Right, my family & I came here for Father's Day. It was a last-minute booking as the place we were meant to go originally cancelled at the last minute. The only reason I'm giving one star is the disgusting behaviour of the staff, specifically the man that brought our food out. The food was ok, not the best but as it was last minute booking can't say much. I believe we arrived at 8pm and our food came pretty quickly, after eating and having a few drinks. We were then told to hurry up and leave because the place was closed at 9pm, it CLEARLY states on your website the closing time is 11pm and 10:30pm on a Sunday, so why on earth was he asked to leave an hour an half before closing?? We spent over £100 just to be treated like that is disgusting. Will not be coming back

Arrived at the hotel on 22nd June 2024.popped into restaurant in the evening and tried to book a table for Sunday lunch.Marcus the manager tried to book us in but sadly no spaces..however he did say ring back in the morning and he would see what he could do..Bless him a man true to his word .Got us a table for midday. Unfortunately we arrived at 11.50 after seeing my father who is end of life care at moment so none of us felt up 2 it..I explained to Marcus the situation.He was amazing .he then gave me a lovely Welsh cwtch and asked if we wanted any food to take away.THATS A Bloody Amazing Manager.1st class in every sense..A credit to your company . I went here with my family for father's day and what a total mix up it was. We had to change our booking to a later time but upon confirming it, we weren't told the shutting time or changes they had made to the menu for that day. By the time we got there and ordered, there was only little under half an hour to finish the food so I ended up not having anything. My parents overheard some of the staff rudely telling people to leave soon because they had closed. All I wondered was why they would let people in so late if they weren't happy with them finishing their food. The staffs attitude was awful and I won't be returning here for a long time. Horrible service.

Came tonight on the off chance and even though the pub was extremely busy Nathan the manager managed to seat us , the food was excellent all came out together and cooked to perfection We were checked on throughout the meal and was met with politeness with each member of staff Well done guys excellent service

For what you pay it's excellent. The staff are brilliant and really friendly I love how they treat my parents who are regulars. Carvery is a real winner I don't know how they do it for such a good price

Been here quite a few times. Service and the staff are always excellent. Polite, friendly, helpful and smart. The food is always great and they cater well for gluten free. The time from ordering to being served is quick. The restaurant is very clean, tidy and the decor is also very good. Would recommend to anybody

Since you have banned dogs from entering the restaurant we have taken every opportunity to eat outside...... However when we went there today I set up outside with the dogs while my wife went in to order food only to be told we are not serving food outside today we are short staffed, I then asked why no service outside only to be told we are fully booked so we are not serving food outside, no notice on door outside, the restaurant was at most 2/5 ths full, no apology from Sophie the manager, in fact the opposite, as I was leaving she said while laughing, have a nice day, goodbye. Cannot comment on the rest of your review questions, only to say we have been told you cannot upgrade your pollock and chips to haddock and chips because you no longer do it. Suggestion that you send Sophie for customer service training. The only reason I gave 1 star is you have to give 1 star otherwise you cannot post.

Great sunny day yesterday what better than a pub lunch. The service was poor even finding condiments so we could eat outside was a problem. The food was at best luke warm but I was Hungary. I did complain as we left but not much of a reaction. Must be the norm

One if my favourite places to dine. Food is very tasty and comes to table hot which is must for me. I asked for med/well steak, it was cooked perfect. The staff are friendly and very helpful especially one male who I seen a few times, don't know his name but he makes our visit a memorial one, he always seem busy and making sure everyone is happy. Can't wait to visit again!

Came in as a table of 7 on Sunday, we were seated promptly, service on the bar was fast & we didn't even have to wait that long for the Carvery even though they were quite busy. All the staff were absolutely amazing with the three toddlers we had on our table. Couldn't recommend them enough!! Thank you so much, we will be back again!!

Love coming down here for cocktails and food. Place always clean and staff always welcoming especially the front desk worker Lili, always smiling, helpful and polite. I've been for breakfast, evening meals and a Sunday lunch and haven't been disappointed any time. Girls on the bar always ready to serve with a smile and a happy chat....lovely place well worth a visit

Good place and good staff. Looking a bit dated these days but still good enough to come back to.

Not so good on this visit, ribs were tough, over cooked, onion rings were rock hard, was unable to eat them, Desert and diet coke was acceptable.

Ordered fish x2 all we had was hard batter. Ordered hot dog and chips with no mustard. Hot dog came covered in mustard. When the sausage was taken out of the roll it was black charcoal. Very disappointed.

Had a great evening at brewers fayre in Abergavenny, Sophie, Lilly and all the team last night were fab, nothing is too much work for any of them, all the meals were great but I had one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, it was cooked to perfection, so fresh and very tasty. Thank you very much.

Went with my parents,atmosphere nice and peaceful, sadly it’s not dog friendly where other pubs around are. food was very disappointing. Ordered a smothered chicken meal for £13.75 and my father ordered the smothered chicken and curry from the 2 mains for £11.45. Despite me paying more than he did for my meal he had same size portion only difference was I had a half a tomato and a bit of salad that’s it. Not worth the extra money to have a single meal. I was still hungry afterwards. Normally staff come up to you while you eat to check if everything is ok, but the only person to come up to us was to take our plates away. The restaurant was half empty so the staff were not rushed off their feet. The restaurant has disabled access and disabled toilets.

Food was not very good value and overcooked , table had not been cleaned properly . Very disappointed

Was attended by Ashleigh this evening. She's always very attentive and smiling. A credit to The Brewers Fayre, as are all the staff.

As Lead for Abergavenny Combined Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club I would like to say a special thank you to Marcus and his team for hosting our group for breakfast once a month for the last 5 and a half years. Our numbers grow at each meeting and you always do such an amazing job making us feel welcome and feeding us. As a result we have made the General Manager Marcus, an affiliated member of our group. Together we served. There is no stronger bond. 🫡

There's a lovely welcoming atmosphere with plenty of tables. We have been here on numerous occasions, and it never fails to impress. The food was great, and the staff were excellent, especially Marcus, he's a real gent, and nothing is too much trouble. I would say that he's a real credit to the company, and I hope they realise how much of an ambassador he is.

As a guest at the Premier Inn, I wanted breakfast. The times on the information provided state that; breakfast is available on Sunday is until 11am...my husband & I arrived at 10.45 to be told that service ceased at 10.40!! When I pointed out to the staff (a grumpy man) that this isn't as advertised, he reiterated service stops at 10.40 and no food was available..not helpful. I suggested that the information be edited to show you needed to be in the restaurant before 10.40!

Stopped here for lunch with friends as it was central for all of us, had the value menu and was perfect! What a bargain! Staff was lovely aswell.

First time eating breakfast here and we will be returning. We was warming welcomed by Sophie at the door who showed us to our table and explained how everything worked. After we helped ourselves to the selection of pastries, cereals and fruit Meg came over and took our order for the cooked breakfast which was perfect if you don’t like everything that usually comes on the full English as you can chose how much you want of everything. Fair to say we will be returning soon exceptional breakfast and our little one even ate for free! Thank you Sophie and Meg for the brilliant service

I came in for dinner with my family after a short dog walk up the canal. We were served by a lovely lad, Nathan if I can remember properly, who made sure our needs were met. I had the Smothered chicken which was lovely, we had a lovely time and will definitely come again.

Always consistently good food and fab service. Great value for money too. Today they went the extra mile to make our son’s Birthday extra special! Our son is a leap day Birthday, so he was on the calendar for the first time in 4 years! He chose to have breakfast here, where they bought him out a free brownie with a “3 candle” which our boy thought was fabulous! (He’s 12, but he’s only had 3 official Birthdays!) Thank you all!

Went for my son's birthday. Very good service, staff were very friendly and happy to discuss menu and drink options. Everything we ordered was available and we all enjoyed a delicious 3 course meal. The manager Nathan was a lovely chap and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return soon
