Very cosy atmosphere, roast lamb was delicious. The meat was very tender with some nice vegetables. Probably need one more dedicated waitress, although the first course did arrive quickly.

Gorgeous Welsh lamb roast dinner with super selection of vegetables and delicious jam sponge and custard for pudding Also had a nice glass of Merlot

Went in hear for food for the first time today +what a beautiful +cosy pub. The room on the left is absolutely beautiful. Staff are lovely +we both had a lovely lunch for £4.99 each! Can't wait to go back, this will be my new place to eat from now on ☺️

A group of 12 had lunch together, food all arrived at same time, was hot and nicely presented and tasted good. Very reasonable priced too.

Most of us who came last night are sick The fish wasn’t cooked and I know that as I am a chef the mince beef was red, the stake we orders wasn’t a medium rare it was more of a blue

Went there for my grandsons 10th birthday there was 10 of us, it was exceptionally cheap on food, only negative it was cans of coke instead of draught but 10 people with a meal 10 drinks under £90 you cannot fault that. By the way it's cash only but again not a major issue.

Took the grandchildren here for lunch, and 6 of us ate for less than £40, and the food was lovely. My grandaughter was celebrating her birthday in the coming week and after I had asked if they had a candle I could use for the fudge cake which came as part of the meal deal, the two ladies on duty, came out with the fudge cake with candle already lit, and sang Happy Birthday which I was not expecting, and my grandaughter was chuffed to bit. Thank you again ladies for making her day We visited on a Monday and it was quiet when we first went in as we were there early and not long after the lunchtime service had started, but the pub quickly filled up before we left. I would definitely visit again, and had no complaints about the food or service

Lovely mixed grill not had a bad meal at the ivor hael

Food was fantastic, starter was a BBQ chicken dippers don't be deceived by the name or the price juicy chicken chunks battered in house golden brown and very crispy, main was a mixed grill or should I say mountain of delicious perfecty cook meats with peas chips and mushrooms with a little side salad, desert was a strawberry gateau with vanilla ice cream stunning light and very refreshing on these hot days. Service was very accommodating I even witnessed the staff patiently communicating with a lovely lady who was deaf couldn't ask for better service or staff. As for the atmosphere fantastic range of music lovely customers friendly warm inviting staff music personal choice but I loved it. My only complaint is my better half couldn't finish her meals not for the lack of trying we both thoroughly enjoyed all that we ate.

Had a lovely meal couple of months back so was really looking forward to another. Ordered the Stilton mushrooms for starters, pie and chips, steak and chips. Having a drink with the better half when approached by the manager to say they didn't have any mushrooms, gutted!! We had a £2 refund and 4 slices of garlic bread instead for starters, which was very mediocre. When the main meal arrived was not impressed at all! The puff pastry was white and wet on the pie, not cooked, peeled back the soggy crust to find a sea of peas. In all fairness the taste of the pie was nice, the steak was OK, but no difference to what I cook myself. My better half had 10 oz steak and chips. Again, nothing special, the steak was poor quality, the only garnish were peas, a little salad or onion rings would have been a bonus, couldn't expect mushrooms though could we? The drinks are expensive, £5:25 and £4:95 for a large wine and pint of shandy respectively. On a VERY serious note the print on the menu is dodgy to say the least. The contents are illegible, you can't read any warnings of possible allergies etc. I let the waitress know what we thought of the meal, how disappointing it was, she was lovely by the way. She explained they have changed suppliers. In short, stay away. Get some frozen chips, cook yourself a pie and steak and stay at home. Wish I could have left a raving positive review as I'm not a natural complainer but I feel so strongly about our let down of an evening out.

Well had to give a new review for the ivor. Came on Wednesday for the midweek roast dinner it was £3.99 and absolutely delicious. Carrots peas cabbage and swede all fresh roast potatoes new potatoes roast parsnip Yorkshire pud and stuffing ball. I had 1 slice pork and beef and it was perfect. The right amount. Gravy was homemade and beautiful full of flavour. They have so many new items on their menus at the moment and you won't get a cheaper meal with quality ingredients anywhere locally. Spot on well done ivor.

Great for meat eaters two for one on the grill steaks etc.But iff youre vegeterian have to pay the full price no two for fourteen.The girls work hard the manager mmm. Won't be coming back!

This is local to us we have been a few times never had a bad meal ,good food good prices, and staff are very friendly, plus did not have to wait long for are food.

Fabulous food at very good prices

Usually have a good experience here but the last few weeks the food has been slap dash. Today topped it all off when my mum ordered burger and chips - that’s literally all she got!….a burger between two buns - no onions, no tomato or no lettuce and a portion of chips. I have never ever seen a burger presented in this way in my life - I feel that even a little bit of garnish would have made all the difference but there was literally a burger and a bun and that’s it. I know the prices are really reasonable but that took the biscuit!….presentation makes all the difference and I hope that if someone reads this comment that they will take the hint.

A little disappointed, starters portions were tiny, gammon was so thin, egg tasted like it had been fried in dirty oil. Cheap prices but would rather pay extra for better food. Probably won’t return again

This is our first visit but will not be our last. Great menu and even greater prices with very friendly staff. Will be making this the place to go when eating out as we have not found better in the area.

Food absolutely shocking, staff clearly got a staring problem but not the balls to say something, clearly all family members as not a basic cashier job would hire 2 of them with the filthy looks they threw my way, as for the young chef he can sort his eyes out too staring at paying customers after taking their trash food back that chef Mike made! Lasagna microwaved!!! More cheese than anything. Same for the hunters chicken. Shocking! Takes 40 minutes to make and cook a fresh lasagna absolute perfection of laziness. Only decent factor is they can mess up a bottled drink. Shocking.

Wouldn’t recommend at all, firstly I ordered chicken and they brought out steak and I was asked if it was okay (obviously not). Just as we were done eating we were asked how long we were going to be so they could start setting the tables up for the following day (this was over an hour before they closed). To top it off the food isn’t great either (all came home with dodgy stomachs)👌

Good food and friendly staff. (I recommend the gammon and chips). The children really enjoyed the burger and chips too. Couldn't do enough for us who attended a 90th birthday party we held there. Many thanks to the staff at the Ivor Hael.

Nice enough food, confusing menu. They couldn't/ didn't cater for dietary needs. Small space, staff were nice and friendly.

Excellent value for money! We had 2 meals for £10, and the portions are generous. My only complaint is that one member of staff was extremely unhelpful when asked about options for egg and milk allergy. We were just told 'it's in everything'. When pointed out that they cater for vegans we were still not offered any options, there was no offer to check with the chef or check food packaging which really put a downer on our meal.

Excellent value for money! While not expecting quality for the very little money you pay,you will be very pleasantly surprised! Extremely cheap,yet very good quality,huge portions and unbelievable value for money! Drinks are a bit on the expensive side,but that's understandable considering how cheap the food is. You will not regret it.

Such a calm beautiful relaxed setting come here quite alot and everytime I enjoy the serenity it brings, the food is delicious, the deals they have for food is impressive for the size, honestly mark this down in your navigation you won't be dissapointed, to make sure you get to enjoy and love this place book before turning up they have loads of spaces, but spaces go quick

After seeing adverts on Facebook decoded to give it a go, took family there, we all had different meals including vegetarian and we all enjoyed. Best value for money we have seen and will be returning soon. Travelled from llanharan and Cardiff and was well worth the trip. Lovely friendly atmosphere and staff great. There were 5. Of us all had mains and desserts and a round of drinks.

Food was lovely and great for the price. But of a wait for someone at the bar but other than that, excellent.

Lovely pub, very busy! I recommend booking, staff are so helpful. The owner has a few local pubs all really well run, but this is my favourite one.

Just left after a last meal which with no hassle fitted us with with only half hour notice. the service we had was brilliant lovely staff one of our party my son couldn’t make it but we had a take away for him again with no hassle the food was amazing 100% recommend

You won't get much better for the money you pay, staff are great and always willing to help, they have kept prices really low considering the inflation. It's half the price you would pay at a chain restaurant, and better quality food. Thank you for a great night.

I've been here in the past, and never found the woman serving to be particularly pleasant. The food was always okay, though; and dirt cheap, because it is a cash only establishment (we all know what that means). Long story short, I went here today with my partner, on the dot for 12pm, only to be told that they were "fully booked." Yet, we were only the second and third persons to walk-in. They had also put up a social media post around half hour prior, advising that no booking was required for today. As we were leaving there was more people coming in - all those that clearly knew the people running the establishment on a personal level; they got seating, without issue. Thanks for wasting our Sunday. We won't be back. I'd also advise others to go elsewhere - don't skimp out on the quality of service for the sake of saving a couple of quid.

Held a 50th birthday meal here. I shouldn't be saying it really but honestly what a place, food is excellent, prices are really good, staff are lovely. Overall an excellent venue. Parking is around the corner at the railway station.

I've eaten here many times with family and they are always great. We often call ahead with dietary requirements and they always go above and beyond to make sure there are various options. The decor is gorgeous, and quite relaxing and homely. I usually go with my two young children and the staff are always happy to accommodate them. The value for money with the meals is brilliant. There are various offers on, and they are never small portions. They don't take card, which I know is an issue for some, but there is a free cash machine across the road

Cheap meals, you're obviously not going to get fine dining but perfect for a quick and easy meal. Big let down is that it's cash only, nowadays the vast majority of places are cashless and prefer card payment but this place only accepts cash.

Always a great deal with different offers every day. We had two mixed grills for 12 pounds and add a dessert fro another pound. Great value and amazing quality food. This is our 5th visit and we will continue to go there. It’s got to be the best value anywhere. We love it.

Our family of 17 visited The Ivor for a birthday and we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked into the room with the lights on the ceiling, all the candles lit and smelt amazing, it just made you feel completely relaxed. We ordered our food and it all came out really quick and was absolutely stunning. The staff were lovely and really chatty, Alex and Mandy had us all laughing at one point, they’re a right double act lol. Overall the whole family really really enjoyed and will definitely be back. With the prices 2 for £12 and the Grill club it’s an absolute bargain, don’t know how they do it.

Just come home from here bought my elderly mother and her best friend for her birthday and had a really lovely meal we all had different meals and couldn't fault them we all enjoyed the food it was so good the staff are fantastic very freindly and helpful, all my family love coming here for the great food lovely atmosphere we come here most weeks and we all love the Sunday dinners always fresh veg and beautiful tender meat cannot fault it here and highly recommend 😋 xx

We were a party of 20 people, we were all seated together in one room . The food was very nice , excellent value for money. Drinks were a bit expensive but hey you got to make money after all.
