This is our first visit but will not be our last. Great menu and even greater prices with very friendly staff. Will be making this the place to go when eating out as we have not found better in the area.

Food absolutely shocking, staff clearly got a staring problem but not the balls to say something, clearly all family members as not a basic cashier job would hire 2 of them with the filthy looks they threw my way, as for the young chef he can sort his eyes out too staring at paying customers after taking their trash food back that chef Mike made! Lasagna microwaved!!! More cheese than anything. Same for the hunters chicken. Shocking! Takes 40 minutes to make and cook a fresh lasagna absolute perfection of laziness. Only decent factor is they can mess up a bottled drink. Shocking.

Wouldn’t recommend at all, firstly I ordered chicken and they brought out steak and I was asked if it was okay (obviously not). Just as we were done eating we were asked how long we were going to be so they could start setting the tables up for the following day (this was over an hour before they closed). To top it off the food isn’t great either (all came home with dodgy stomachs)👌

Good food and friendly staff. (I recommend the gammon and chips). The children really enjoyed the burger and chips too. Couldn't do enough for us who attended a 90th birthday party we held there. Many thanks to the staff at the Ivor Hael.

Nice enough food, confusing menu. They couldn't/ didn't cater for dietary needs. Small space, staff were nice and friendly.

Excellent value for money! We had 2 meals for £10, and the portions are generous. My only complaint is that one member of staff was extremely unhelpful when asked about options for egg and milk allergy. We were just told 'it's in everything'. When pointed out that they cater for vegans we were still not offered any options, there was no offer to check with the chef or check food packaging which really put a downer on our meal.

Didn't have tap water to drink.was my only complaint.

Excellent value for money! While not expecting quality for the very little money you pay,you will be very pleasantly surprised! Extremely cheap,yet very good quality,huge portions and unbelievable value for money! Drinks are a bit on the expensive side,but that's understandable considering how cheap the food is. You will not regret it.

Such a calm beautiful relaxed setting come here quite alot and everytime I enjoy the serenity it brings, the food is delicious, the deals they have for food is impressive for the size, honestly mark this down in your navigation you won't be dissapointed, to make sure you get to enjoy and love this place book before turning up they have loads of spaces, but spaces go quick

After seeing adverts on Facebook decoded to give it a go, took family there, we all had different meals including vegetarian and we all enjoyed. Best value for money we have seen and will be returning soon. Travelled from llanharan and Cardiff and was well worth the trip. Lovely friendly atmosphere and staff great. There were 5. Of us all had mains and desserts and a round of drinks.

Food was lovely and great for the price. But of a wait for someone at the bar but other than that, excellent.

Lovely pub, very busy! I recommend booking, staff are so helpful. The owner has a few local pubs all really well run, but this is my favourite one.

Just left after a last meal which with no hassle fitted us with with only half hour notice. the service we had was brilliant lovely staff one of our party my son couldn’t make it but we had a take away for him again with no hassle the food was amazing 100% recommend

You won't get much better for the money you pay, staff are great and always willing to help, they have kept prices really low considering the inflation. It's half the price you would pay at a chain restaurant, and better quality food. Thank you for a great night.

I've been here in the past, and never found the woman serving to be particularly pleasant. The food was always okay, though; and dirt cheap, because it is a cash only establishment (we all know what that means). Long story short, I went here today with my partner, on the dot for 12pm, only to be told that they were "fully booked." Yet, we were only the second and third persons to walk-in. They had also put up a social media post around half hour prior, advising that no booking was required for today. As we were leaving there was more people coming in - all those that clearly knew the people running the establishment on a personal level; they got seating, without issue. Thanks for wasting our Sunday. We won't be back. I'd also advise others to go elsewhere - don't skimp out on the quality of service for the sake of saving a couple of quid.

Held a 50th birthday meal here. I shouldn't be saying it really but honestly what a place, food is excellent, prices are really good, staff are lovely. Overall an excellent venue. Parking is around the corner at the railway station.

I've eaten here many times with family and they are always great. We often call ahead with dietary requirements and they always go above and beyond to make sure there are various options. The decor is gorgeous, and quite relaxing and homely. I usually go with my two young children and the staff are always happy to accommodate them. The value for money with the meals is brilliant. There are various offers on, and they are never small portions. They don't take card, which I know is an issue for some, but there is a free cash machine across the road

Cheap meals, you're obviously not going to get fine dining but perfect for a quick and easy meal. Big let down is that it's cash only, nowadays the vast majority of places are cashless and prefer card payment but this place only accepts cash.

Always a great deal with different offers every day. We had two mixed grills for 12 pounds and add a dessert fro another pound. Great value and amazing quality food. This is our 5th visit and we will continue to go there. It’s got to be the best value anywhere. We love it.

Our family of 17 visited The Ivor for a birthday and we were not disappointed. From the moment we walked into the room with the lights on the ceiling, all the candles lit and smelt amazing, it just made you feel completely relaxed. We ordered our food and it all came out really quick and was absolutely stunning. The staff were lovely and really chatty, Alex and Mandy had us all laughing at one point, they’re a right double act lol. Overall the whole family really really enjoyed and will definitely be back. With the prices 2 for £12 and the Grill club it’s an absolute bargain, don’t know how they do it.

Just come home from here bought my elderly mother and her best friend for her birthday and had a really lovely meal we all had different meals and couldn't fault them we all enjoyed the food it was so good the staff are fantastic very freindly and helpful, all my family love coming here for the great food lovely atmosphere we come here most weeks and we all love the Sunday dinners always fresh veg and beautiful tender meat cannot fault it here and highly recommend 😋 xx

We were a party of 20 people, we were all seated together in one room . The food was very nice , excellent value for money. Drinks were a bit expensive but hey you got to make money after all. Will definitely be recommending this restaurant. Girls serving ( sorry for forgetting your names 🤣🤣) were excellent with all our families requirements your a credit to restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal a pot of coffee for £2 which had enough in for 3 cups of coffee cost me about £16 for food I had a texas bbq burger which was lovely and loaded fries. Would definitely recommend.

Took the grandkids for dinner, fantastic value for money. Bit cold but sadly weathers fault. Meals were great, ladies good but smoke from front door off putting. Would be go again of course loved it.

I hadn’t been to The Ivor for a few years but I have to say, I was very impressed. We had the two-course Friday special for £6.50. My friend and I both had Hunters Chicken which came with chips, peas, mushrooms and a salad garnish followed by Apple Tart and custard and strawberry gateau with cream. Everything we had tasted excellent and the portions substantial. The meal was by far the best value for money I’ve had in a very long time. The lady who served us with blonde hair was pleasant and cheerful (sorry, we forgot to leave a tip). I believe the owner served us with our dessert and again, pleasant and welcoming. I will definitely be back for a meal soon. If you want good food and good value prices, you won’t go wrong with the Ivor Hael.

Good portion sizes, nicely presented food - for a great price. I had the cheese and potato pie with chips and beans. The whole family enjoyed. Just be aware that it’s cash only and no coffee machine.

Had gone yesterday. As lovely as the food was, I was more disappointed in the customer service skills shown. On arrival we didn’t know whether we was to sit down or wait for them to show us to our table. Firstly. Our table wasn’t laid. We had to ask for cutlery and when they gave us cutlery they still failed to hand us napkins. But not the worst thing cause I get it’s a busy environment. We ordered the 3 meal course for 6 pound, starter = amazing! Fresh chicken dippers, couldn’t have asked for better. For the meal it was chicken curry and chips. Now I’m not going to complain cause it’s nothing really but. We had to pay an extra pound for rice? When Idk id expect a option for half and half or one or other. But again can’t complain tasted lovely and was good portion for the price. Now dessert. This is where I get very sad and disappointed. There is two options to choose from. Which was chocolate fudge cake . Or a strawberry gateau. So we ordered a chocolate fudge cake. After finishing our curry. We waited for our plates to be collected and for our dessert to be given. Now we sat there for a good 20-30 minutes waiting. With our curries still in front, so we decided to go up to ask how long it’ll take. We only then get told that there was no chocolate fudge cake left. Now I was only so disappointed because I’m a fussy eater, and I’m pregnant. I sat there for 20 odd minutes waiting for a dessert that was never going to arrive:( so they give us the option of strawberry gateau, cheesecake or ice cream. Now I don’t particularly like cheesecake or strawberry gateau. Or plain ice cream for that matter. So I asked about like idk if they could possibly give me the money back for the dessert that I wasn’t going to have. Which could’ve been straight forward. 6 pound for 3 meals that’s 2 pound a meal. Simple. So instead I had to have a ice cream. Which wasn’t even great cause it came from a £1 scoop tub, they offered sauce . Which they didn’t spare much at all. Seeing my friend asked for some and they didn’t even put sauce on hers. Over all. Experience wasn’t great at all. Food is nice. But customer service isn’t great. Don’t expect the dessert you asked for. Be ready to be in risk of being disappointed , sorry for the rant . It’s just they also should’ve mentioned much earlier that there wasn’t any cake left.

Got here and was pleasantly surprised. Menu was great and prices were crazy cheap! Big group of us for a birthday that was difficult to manage by staff as it appeared a lot of orders were wrong. Staff probably approached us about ten times in between meals asking to verify what we had ordered. This happens and I totally get that a big group can be quite hard to manage. However, how staff dealt with this was poor. Starters were lovely, mains were ok-ish, couldn’t really complain much as it was cheap. Waited a while for desserts. All desserts went out and there were just 2 of us who were still waiting whilst everyone else had finished their desserts. When we enquired about this, they said “all deserts have gone out”. When we pointed out that there were still two of us waiting for brownies (which we could clearly still see in the fridge), the lady kept repeating “well, all desserts have gone out” and rolled her eyes. So on our end, there wasn’t much we could do other than not have our desserts that we had paid for. I totally understand the demand and given that there was a big group of us, there was always going to be something. It was how they dealt with this that shocked me. As a customer who had paid for good service, we left appalled that they could just let customers leave without having what they paid for. I just wouldn’t recommend this place and I will not return because of how rude they were. (I would like to point out that not all staff were rude, there was one in particular with red hair that clearly lacks customer service skills).

Fantastic atmosphere and welcoming friendly staff. Food was awesome, plenty of choice for all. Food was tasty and well pretty damn fooditastic. Situated alongside a train station (Llwynpia) convenience for visitors out of town.

First visit today with my sisters and all our kids, absolutely fab. Service was friendly and polite. Food was really nice, portions amazing and can't believe the great price. Love to go again 👍😁
