Me & my husband called here on a sunday night & loved it here. Found it really chilled, entertainment was a singer/guitarist. I would definitely go back. Reading some of the issues about staff bouncers etc, I can only assume they've gone. The girl behind the bar was really helpful & the bouncers when going said hope you have a lovely night & we're friendly.

I love going to live lounge for a boogie but I'm not happy that they kick people out, on their own, when they've been sick. They should make sure that person has someone with them or sobers up like other places legally have to do. If I wasn't trying to phone my brother he would've been out on his own and that would've been dangerous. Something needs to change in regards to safety

Great live music venue with an extensive menu, very reasonably priced.

Popped in as we were passing and could hear live music 🎶. Not our usual thing on a Sunday afternoon. It was full, but it was comfortable and we managed to get a table upstairs. What I was surprised at was that they had 270 different gins 😊. Bar staff were great and very knowledgeable.

This is one of the best Lounge I have ever visited in Cardiff, the live music and entertainment was quite an experience and the drinks are very affordable compared to the fun you're gonna experience .

I was enjoying my night when the toilet lady at 1:50am (18/02/2024), slammed the door when my friend was using the toilet to relieve her dietary habits (she has IBS), and told us to exit the toilet immediately, despite my friends need to use the lavatory. Once I explained that she needed the toilet for a little longer she shouted at her and said she didn’t care, she needed to exit the toilet for other people to use, causing my friend to get embarrassed and upset. I’m extremely disappointed, as I have been here before and had no issues. I hope that the company will contact me with an explanation for this unacceptable behaviour. She was extremely impolite and I will be contacting the company further, and this behaviour is the standard I expect from a low standard business.

Went in about 6:30 all of us in our 20s-50s apart from one who was 17, on the website it says under 18 year olds can go in until 9 pm as long as supervised by an adult - which all of us were. Wasn’t asked for ID on the door and bought drinks at the bar. As soon as we paid for the drinks the manager came over saying that we couldn’t be in there any longer because someone in the party was underage and we had to finish our drinks and leave asap. We explained to the manager that we had been in contact recently to check that under 18s were allowed in until 9pm and she said I don’t care im the manager and this is what Im telling you. Disgusting attitude from all the bar staff and security too. If the information on the website is incorrect then change it. Wouldn’t even give it 1 star if it was an option.

Avoid at all costs, there are so many other better places to go for drinks or food in Cardiff. The bar staff were okay, but management (some crazy woman) wss absolutely dreadful, she'll be the ruining of live lounge. If you want to be miserable and boring this is definitely the place to go, seems they only want people who don't interact with each other and like to have a song song. Door staff also looked confused as to why they were asking 30+ paying customers to leave who were only singing and 3njoying themselves.

Went in for a drink , artist on was really good so stayed for another second artist was brilliant so stayed ended spending 6 hours, drinks well priced and friendly staff, can get full but great venue .

Ever wanna get drunk at 2am on Wednesday night with people from 18 up to 70 years old, live lounge is the place to go. Always a vibe..Great music, decent cheap drinks on weekdays and always fun

wouldn’t let me in because I arrived at 2:12 and last entry was 2, I wasn’t drunk and asked nicely if they could just let me In as a one off and I would pay any price as all friends were inside for our works do, they were so rude telling me not to ask again and that it was my problem not theirs, such a power trip. I was then stood outside with a dead phone just waiting for one of my friends to come out, at this point I was a bit teary eyed because i was just super upset by it all, not nice to be a young girl having 50 year old men shout at you just for asking. I got impatient and tried to sneak into the cue through the barriers because I’d rather be told off than be an 18 year old on my own on the streets of cardiff at 2am. Several bouncers came and grabbed me pushing me out, had to wait another hour in the cold until I spotted a friend who helped me get home. I understand rules are rules but in this case It’s just ridiculous and an excuse for these bouncers to feel powerful and important.

Good night until the manger (girl) came over told us our table was booked we happily moved, she then felt the need about an hour later to come over and give one of my friends a mouthful and telling her she would be banned for life if it wasn’t for the fact it was Xmas, banned for what I have no idea. She the. For the next 40 mins or so stand in the stairs staring at us, unsure why. Before we left I did go over and ask her why she felt the need to speak to me friend the way she did, I asked her name, to which she replied yiyr banned for life and called a bouncer even though I was already leaving, while out side even the bouncer was a little confused as to why she called him. I will be calling the bar to contact the owner as this girl was clearly on power trip. Very strange behaviour from a so called manager, not really convinced she was the manager the way she acted and if she is I think the higher management need to check there cctv at the way she treats customers. Very very un professional young girl on a power trip . Was told I was banned for life for simply asking why she felt the need to speak to my friend the way she did and ask her name. Been several times before no issue, this year the music was poor, not the atmosphere that is normally there, again probably down to the poor management, even the bouncer was a little confused and agreed she was on a power trip and liked to be little women. All I can say is if your reading this, karma always comes around, you get treated the way you treat others, and I pity you as you must be a very unhappy person

For a non curry house the chicken madras I had was the best I have had for years.

Absolutely disgusting they scammed me, trying to rob me of money they charged me for two drinks at once!!! Who ever the girl is behind the bar she’s a stinky liar and just wants money!!!!! Deserves a sack “live lounge” more like the rob lounge

The next pub in my Wheelchair Accessibility Review pub crawl of Cardiff was "The Live Lounge". Entrance was flat in and inside was spacious. No access for me in my wheelchair to the upstairs area tho or to the downstairs booths on the right hand side (up a single step) but plenty of other tables inside. Outside seating was excellent with lots of tables and spacious for me in my powered wheelchair. Prices of drinks were very reasonable... the cheapest so far :) The disabled toilet was good but you have to ask a staff member to open it with an electronic fob. This place has always been known for it's great live music all day and night and there was an excellent solo singer/guitarist during our visit. Our visit was in the afternoon but come evening/ night time the inside tables are put away and the place transforms into a crazy jam packed nightclub with live bands which could be more problematic for my powered wheelchair 😂 Overall a great no frills place for cheap drinks and live music with excellent outside seating, only 50% accessible for me 😐 but going upstairs might bring back those dodgy memories of 3am drinking sessions before my wheelchair days 😂♿🍺

Would just like to thank the bouncer who looked out for my daughter in the early hours of this morning. She’s only 18 and was unable to get an Uber and had been waiting for an hour before I picked her up. The bouncer made sure she wasn’t leaving alone, checked she was ok, offered her his coat and even walked her to my car when I got there to pick her up. Very much appreciated and nice to know there are some decent people out there looking out for our kids 😊 thanks again 👌

My son and I just had the best pasta to take away and eat at home from here. It was delicious, fresh and full of flavour. They even gave us garlic bread and Parmesan cheese to go with it.

with experiencing both sides of the dancefloor, both being on it and on the stage. We can honestly say its a fantastic venue as a performer with the owner and staff looking after any needs along with watering and feeding us! (amazing pizza after a gig btw!) and to be on the dancefloor watching a great selection of bands, a great atmosphere!

First time i went i thought it was a good place to go for a night out. However last night i was denied entry for apparently being "too drunk" even though i had barely drank anything. I have scoliosis and had spinal fusion so my back causes my pain after long periods of standing. Because of this i tend to sit or crouch whenever possible when queuing like last night. As i got up to move along the queue i lost my balance which also happens frequently due to my back. The bouncer saw this and deemed me too drunk. I tried explaining to him about my back and even offered to show my surgery scar if he wanted proof but i got a response along the lines of "i dont care" and "i have back issues but it doesn't cause me issues". They allowed everyone else i came with in.

the most racist bouncers. They told me i slurred my words, whilst i was just trying to talk english to them. Bare in mind that welsh is my first language and my english is not the best. and in the Wales capital city you’d expect people to respect that, but they didn’t. the bouncers were horrible to me, destroyed my first night out in Cardiff by refusing my attempt to go in. And from what i’ve heard, they were horrible to other welsh speaking people aswell. So, to the Welsh speaking people thats having a night out in Cardiff, avoid Live Lounge, they’re horrible to people like me

One of my favourite places in Cardiff - it really has it all. Fantastic live music all day with a mix of solo musicians, duos and bands and then a DJ later on in the night (until 4am!). There's such a diverse crowd of young, old and everybody in between which just shows how much this place has something for everybody. Everyone always seems to be happy and enjoying themselves here (including the bar staff!). I've eaten here a few times as well and the food is really good, with very generous portions at very affordable prices. If you're in Cardiff, you definitely have to visit this place!

Had an enjoyable meal with a Mate just before Wales V Australia - The price of the food and drink was excellent and the music wasn't blasting so it was easy having a conversation - staff were very friendly _ I would recomend a visit

Food was good did not wait to long at bar.

Went with a couple of mates and had a fab few hours in the place. The live singer was surprisingly good and this contributed to the lively atmosphere. Large choice of beers and food too (had the pulled pork baguette with wedges) at very reasonable cost. Will def be back again!

The bar has a really wide selection of drinks, and they do a class pint of Guinness - way better than the Guinness in either of the Cardiff O'Neill's, the food is really good value for money and really nice, and they have specials on...
